Re: Video: The Top 10 Mario Platformers, As Selected By You

Spideron

@Kirk: Not saying it's flawed in any particular way. I'm just saying the retro factor counts a LOT for people who grew up with the classics. If all Mario-games were released for the first time tomorrow as brand new games - looking, playing and sounding exactly as they were it their time - no way would SMB get as high as 10th place.

But again, my opinion and I think I'll leave it at that!

Re: Video: The Top 10 Mario Platformers, As Selected By You

Spideron

@Kirk: Well, that's where we'll have to agree to disagree... I mean, not many people today will pick up Super Mario Bros for the first time and agree it's "basically flawless". Myself, I can only play it for max 30 mins before it's enough for a couple of weeks/months...

But again, it's just my opinion, and I respect others' may differ!

Re: Video: The Top 10 Mario Platformers, As Selected By You

Spideron

As always, blinded by retro glasses.

I mean, I LOVE classic Mario, but for instance saying the original Mario Bros. game is a "better" game than, say New Super Mario Bros.1 + 2 is just stupid. It might have been a more important game in it's time than NSMB2 was when it came out, but now it's time has passed.

Same goes, partly, for Super Mario World. The only one of the "classics" that can still be considered a great game compared to modern games is Mario 64. That's my opinion anyways.

Re: Bayonetta 2 Falls From UK Charts After One Week

Spideron

The same thing as always; People complain about lack of adult & 3rd party games - and when they appear, no-one buys them. Just accept that Nintendo-produced games + eShop indies are what we'll have on WiiU and be satisfied - I am...

Buy a PS4 or PC for the other stuff. (Yeah, XB1 left out on purpose )

Re: Former President Of Silicon Knights Announces New Entertainment Company, QE2

Spideron

People "demanding" this should be on WiiU are abit like those people demanding Bayonetta 2 on PS4 / XBox1. It's a lost cause.

Devs must go where the money is, and right now it's NOT on WiiU. If this thing happens at all, it'll be on PC and/or Sony/MS consoles first. There's no reason at all this should be on WiiU, even though the "spiritual successor" was a Gamecube game.

Also, people keep asking for more adult / harcore etc games on WiiU, but the thing is - you guys don't buy them! (And neither do I - but I'm happy with just Nintendo produced games The other stuff I get on PS3 (soon PS4) or PC.)

Re: Nintendo 64x64: Bangai-O

Spideron

@SahashraLA It's released on the N64 so it's a N64 game. And as long as it's one of the 64 best games on the N64, it belongs on the list. Saying anything else is ridiculous.

Oh, and wasn't the Dreamcast some obscure console that only fanbois remeber that made a once-great console-producer close down it's console-division? That would make the N64 version more important, no?

Re: Weirdness: New Range of Irish Stamps Feature Mario, Sonic, and More

Spideron

@WalupeachyTime Because Pac-Man and Space Invaders are thought of as singular games in the minds of non-gamers but Sonic and Mario are recognized as characters from a series of games?

Because only the "original" Pac-Man and Space Invaders are iconic like Sonic and Mario?

Because... who cares!? Didn't seem odd to me.

Re: Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow to Complete GBA Trilogy on Wii U Virtual Console

Spideron

@Don Would YOU prefer Super Mario Bros GBC, Brain Age DS and Game & Watch Gallery 3 over the 3 GBA Castlevanias? Crap games are no comfort for missing out on classic awesomeness!

I've played SMB GBC and Brain Age like ONCE each, might as well delete them to save some MBs. And even though I loved my 2-screen Donkey Kong when it was new, I'll never buy a G&W game/collection these days. They're fun for like 30 secs then you play something else...

Re: Review: Hyrule Warriors (Wii U)

Spideron

I've been back and forth on this one, but I won't get it now... Too bad Miyamoto made them stop developing a Zelda-game with Warriors elements, that would've been much more appealing (to me) than the other way around. Started hating the Warriors-series after 5 minutes of Dynasty Warriors 2 on PS2...

Re: Hands On: Exploring the Four New Tables of Zen Pinball 2

Spideron

Does anyone know how the WiiU-tables compare to PS3? Do they have higher resolution? I've got ALL tables up to Walking Dead on PS3, but now I'm considering starting to buy the WiiU tables instead. Too bad I can't move my entire collection from PS3 to WiiU.

And yeah, Nintendo-themed tables in Zen 2 would be AWESOME!

Re: Nintendo Download: 11th September (Europe)

Spideron

Will get Teslagrad, both Oracle Of... games, Super Mario Ball, Links Awakening and the Wooden Sen'Sey demo. Got Link to the Past & Minish Cap already, otherwise I'd get them too. Now THIS is a good week Nintendo!

Re: Review: Tappingo 2 (3DS eShop)

Spideron

Will get this the day it launches in Europe. These small eShop games are so cheap that I insta-buy them all if they get a good score just to support Nintendo/devs!

Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Flipped The Tea Table with Hyrule Warriors

Spideron

Too bad, wondered who made that bad (IMHO) decision. I would rather have a Zelda game with Warriors elements than the other way around. Probably will get the game either way, but a more typical Zelda game with dungeons and exploring AND huge battle scenes would be an insta-buy for me. But... can't always get what you want I guess... :-/

Re: Mario Kart 8 DLC Coming In November, Features Zelda, F-Zero And Animal Crossing

Spideron

@IxC Well, you got ONE thing right... you're sad!

Seriously though, to me all your arguments seems to boil down to not being able to buy the DLC on the future retro Wii U in 10+ years... You really think that's gonna be a big concern for anyone? Plus it'll probably be available digitally on the eShop equivalent WITH all content, don't you think!?

Anyways, as countless others have said, if you don't like it - don't buy it! Your retail game is COMPLETE, this is just EXTRA stuff!

Re: Mario Kart 8 Still Competing in Nordic Region Charts, Tomodachi Life Never Has

Spideron

In the Nordic countries we got a terrible Nintendo-agency in Bergsala AB. There's practically zero Nintendo-presence compared to Sony and Microsoft. Add to this we haven't even got Club Nintendo. They blame this on the fact that the physical Club Nintendo magazine was to expensive to produce in the 80s!!! Don't know why Nintendo haven't replaced this zero-effort company decades ago!
