@WanderingPB - If you change zero-suit Samus to black and squint a bit you can probably pretend she's Bayonetta. That was my first thought seeing this in April, which dashed my hopes of Bayonetta in SSB:

I'ld still like to see Wonder Red, Wonder Pink and Wonder Blue as 1 character that you can switch mid fight like Pokemon or Zelda-Sheik. They really do seem like Nintendo characters to me that would fit in well w/ SSB yet be unique.

How I love a good a character trailer. Even though the majority of us know who this newcomer is, (I mean most of us have already unlocked the characters and seen it online already.) There's a certain charm that the character trailers that Smash 4 has provided us. Heh, almost makes me want the trailers to be included in the game. Most of us know about Shulk, no thanks to that leak, and that didn't kill the awesomeness that the trailer and the character showed us.

Hopefully there will be room for one more if you know what I mean. Wink wink nudge nudge #Ready4Adventure

It will be a bit disappointing if this big "50 Brand New Things for Smash Bros Wii U!!!!!!!" one introduces characters that I've already played as. Don't get me wrong, seeing the reveal video would be cool and all, but it won't tell me much about the Wii U version. Just stick it up on the website or something.

@rjejr i concur my friend. i know its a mature title but Bayonetta would be awesome in SSB…heck if Snake can do it Bayonetta most definitely can in my book! i always hoped W101 would be in smash and have a specific Wonderful One as a dedicated move for them grouped up like up "A" could be wonder green doing his Dante gun shots and the up "B" could be Blue doing his wonder rising sword! theres just so many possibilities! i really wish W101 had sold more because it kinda hurts that they're now just trophies…i feel they deserve better ya know

@Tsurii897 he is a new character though who has not had a reveal trailer yet. Past characters unless featured in the reveal trailers just get and got posts. It is no point in hiding ness. Since he has been around since the first.

It is funny because Wonder Red, Blue and Green would actually match the three kind of Miis in this game. Shulk is a second party character so at least Red could have made it.

Oh well, DLC is our hope now.

@WanderingPB - W101 is a great game and it does deserve better. And I sitll think it would have done better on PS3, install base alone says so, but it really should sell better. Cant believe it's been out over a year already. It's one of the more unique games w/ unique characters and varied gameplay I've played in a long time. Keep in mind I completely wrote this game off as a "When Vikings Attack" clone when it was first shown as P100 or whatever it was but it eventually grew on me and it is a complete game. Wonder Red should be a mascot, Nintendo needs new blood, and Wii Fit trainer as a mascot just doesn't cut it for me. Bayonetta can't be a mascot as she started on PS3 and Xbox360, Wonder Red is all Wii U.

@sinalefa - Yeah I think I had that 3 Mii thought in my head for a second at some point but I forget it and went w/ Wonder Pink for the girl factor to go along w/ game mains Red and Blue, and I always appreciate whips as a weapon. And attitude wise she was 1 of the best parts of the game. Maybe the W101 can get a Tomodachi Life game of their own

Thanks to accidental spoilers, there was only been one character surprise for me and it wasn't a very good one.

I was hoping it was a new character too, something that would be unlocked on 3DS via connecting it to a Wii U with the character unlocked or something. Oh well, at least now there's a cool little explanation of that attack [that character] does, and we get a neat little trailer for it.

Pretty silly that he's teasing it and soon announcing it like there isn't already a version of the game out with the full roster. I mean, you'll have the people who haven't gotten the 3DS version and have also been living under a rock avoiding all the spoilers, those people will be shocked and amazed. But most people in the loop already know who the character is.

Even though we know of all the character it still would be great to see what Nintendo does with their trailers. Bit surprised Dark Pit didn't get a trailer, he was in the end of the Palutena trailer but i guess he's too clone to get his own

@rjejr well my dear Weird "Al" Yankovic impersonator i humbly disagree. Allow me to remind u of the history which the GEMS of Platinum Games unfortunately have…they dont sell like hotcakes and the truth is that most "casual" gamers are intimidated by its deep, intricate, well crafted gameplay mechanics and style. Madworld a low budget wii exclusive only sold a total of 700K in its lifetime (profitable) while its sequel higher budget which skipped the wii Anarchy Reigns went multiplat and only sold about 900K in its lifetime…then dont forget our lovely Cereza who sold a little over 1 million and a combined install base of 160 million…and then no one cared or wanted to help make Bayo2 because regardless of its high praise its numbers werent enough...numbers trumped a highly rated and praised game…while mediocre games like watchdogs that sell like hotcakes are turned into regurgitated franchises that are considered successful and sought after…how sad is that?

W101 is intimidating to most casual players its deep gameplay mechanics from a quick glance seem confusing and broken but to those who master it and explore the game is so rewarding! i tell people did u know u could customize ur play style like in Bayonetta? u like witch time did u know u could use the custom block Hero's Time and it does the same thing? not so good at dodging attacks did u know u could use the Hero's sense custom block to help u avoid the insanely fun madness around?…learning a game should never held against it and thats what most reviewers did and unfortunately it showed what type of gamer they really are…casual.

so my friend W101 regardless of its platform wouldnt have sold great numbers regardless of its "install base" as history has proven already. but i must agree with u that W101 is the most creative action packed game ive ever played and though 3D World is awesome W101 is my GOTY for 2013. All the Wonderful ones and Bayonetta would be great Nintendo mascots heck even Sonic being multiplat stands tall and proud with Nintendo mascots so why cant Cereza ya know!

@rjejr Snake's best games imo (The MGS series) are all PS3 exclusive, so I dont think Nintendo cares too much about where the characters have been Also Pac-Man, the xeno series, and Sonic did not start on Ninty hardware, so there.

@Kasplat - I never meant to say Bayonetta shouldn't be in the game, just that as a Nintendo mascot shes already sloppy seconds. Wonder Red could be a real Nintedo mascot along the lines of Mario or Donkey Kong or Samus, not just in SSB but in Mario Kart or Nintendo Land or other odds and ends like the Pikmin are used here and there.

Would be funny that instead it's "Random Human With Zapper" instead of Duck Hunt. Like, a generic-looking human with the Zapper item, nothing more. xD
And yes, "Random Human With Zapper" will be the full name of the character. (I'm bored, shut up)

@rjejr Idk, after seeing Rayman Legends sell pound for pound on Wii U and PS3, and Sonic Transformed sell even more on Wii U than PS3, despite the gaping difference in install bases (and in the case of Rayman, in spite of many upset Nintedo fans who swore they'd never buy the game new, if at all), I've come to the conclusion that colorful games have every bit as much of a chance selling to Wii U's 7 million as to PS3's 80 million.

@JaxonH - But you just established 2D platformers sell well on Wii U an hour ago, that's the Wii Us strong point. W101 is a lot of things but it is not a 2D platformer. Whatever it is It should have sold better, I just don't get it.

Wonderful 101 is a great game but there are several things that hold it back. The biggest being it's genre. Technical action combat games just aren't popular, on ANY platform. Platinum truly is the pinnacle of the genre as someone stated above, yet their games always struggle at retail. It's a niche genre, it really is. For two, difficulty turns a lot of people off. I mean look at what happened with you and DKC, right? I understand W101 was easy to you, but different people are good at different things. While you might struggle with technical platformers and be good it action games, others might be just the opposite. Many complained about it's difficulty, and even I know you never play a Platinum game on anything less than SUPER EASY. I'm playing Legend of a Korra right now, and I couldn't make it past the tutorial stage without dying and trying again 3 times. I immediately changed the difficulty to the easiest mode.

One thing it had going for it though was it's colorful nature. Unfortunately had the game been on PlayStation, that would've been an asset, but rather another check mark against it as well.

I agree that it is a shame the game sold so poorly. I used to wonder why myself, but now I realize it's just the genre. Something about technical action games just doesn't seem to appeal to the majority of gamers.

@JaxonH - No neither of us said anything about W101 being a platformer, but I do remember either reading something you wrote or writing something that at first glance could have been interpreted that way. Oh, and I played W101 on "Normal" thank you very much. Though I did spend a lot of hours playing the demo on super easy, easy, normal and hard so I was kind of prepared for it And I get why some people might think its difficult, but I don't lose my mind over it like some people No, not you, your always level headed, even on those very few rare occasions you aren't.

Not sure if "technical action" is an actual game genre but I'll admit I don't know how to describe this one. Besides the normal fighting levels that made up half the game you still had on rails shooters, boxing, 2D side scrolling and probably a couple of others. And some problem solving and sort of platforming. It's really a complete game. W/ several Difficulty settings. I think I push myself forward even when it gets tough b/c I know I can play at an easier setting if need be, its a psychological safety net that takes the fear and stress out of getting stuck.
