It's another Monday morning, which means we have Nintendo Download news for European gamers. It's a packed week with a major retail release, eagerly anticipated DLC, some high-profile Virtual Console games and enticing download-only titles to consider. There's a lot to get through, so let's get to it.
Wii U eShop
Tengami (Nyamyam, €7.99 / £6.99) — A console exclusive on Wii U following its iOS release, this is a rather relaxing yet immersive experience that creates a Japanese tale through a virtual pop-up book; you turn pages while folding and manipulating paper to solve puzzles. This boasts a unique art style and music by David Wise, and we'll let you know what we think in our upcoming review.
Paper Monsters Recut (Mobot Studios, €6.49 / £5.49) — Continuing the paper theme, this is a platformer that originated on smart devices but has graduated to the Wii U with a number of improvements and enhancements. It's a charming and entertaining platformer, earning a strong recommendation in our Paper Monsters Recut review.
Meine Ersten Mitsing-Lieder (Ringzero Games, €9.99) — A karaoke title that appears to be a Germany-only release.
Wii U Virtual Console
Castlevania: Dracula X (Konami, €7.99 / £5.49) — This is the SNES port of the PC Engine's Castlevania: Rondo of Blood; this is the first arrival of this version on the Virtual Console in Europe. It doesn't stand up to many of its series contemporaries, unfortuately, as we explain in our Castlevania: Dracula X review.
Golden Sun: The Lost Age (Nintendo, €6.99 / £6.29) — This sequel to the much-loved predecessor tackles the same world and events and its predecessor from new perspectives; this is another exciting Game Boy Advance arrival on Wii U. The continuation of this series on the system will no doubt please fans, and those that have completed the first game can transfer their data to this entry to unlock items and more; we'll get cracking on a review.
Wii U Retail Download
LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (WB Games, €49.99 / £44.99) — The LEGO series remains hugely popular while the Batman series, arguably, represents the best of the franchise. Thies third entry heads into outer space and serves up a mind-boggling number of characters, promising one of the most polished and expansive experiences we've seen in the blocky world. We'll work on a review but, in the meantime, you can see what we thought in our LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham preview. Available from 14th November.
Wii U DLC
Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack 1 (Nintendo, £7.00 / €7.99 or £11.00 / €11.99 for the DLC bundle) — Not actually listed in Nintendo's press release, but confirmed nevertheless for this week's update, this is the first of two DLC packs coming to Nintendo's iconic racing series. It introduces new franchises in exciting new tracks, vehicles and Link as a character; we spoke highly of the content on offer in our The Legend of Zelda x Mario Kart 8 preview.
Wii U Demo
Flowerworks HD: Follie's Adventure (Nocturnal, free)
3DS eShop
Picross e5 (Jupiter, €5.00 / £4.50) — This franchise is well-established as it goes into its 5th entry, with this addition including the Micross, Mega Picross and 20×15 Picross see previously; a Navigation feature is cited as something new this time around. We've always enjoyed these titles, and will give this one a whirl for review.
Vacation Adventures: Park Ranger 2 (Microvalue, €4.99 / £4.49) — Possibly not the most eagerly anticipated sequel of all time, though fans of hidden object games do nevertheless have yet another to choose from. Its predecessor did a decent job by the standards of its genre, and we'll head out into the wild again for a revew.
3DS Virtual Console
Bionic Commando: Elite Forces (Nintendo, €4.99 / £4.49) — A Game Boy Color sequel to its monochrome predecessor, this new entry combines run-and-gun action with some new elements such as a first-person sniper mode and listening in on enemy communications. We'll see whether it's still ultimately just about shooting everything in sight in our upcoming review.
3DS Retail Downloads
LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (WB Games, €39.99 / £39.99) — It's often the portable version of LEGO games that sells best on Nintendo hardware, though this entry may just provide an experience closer to matching its HD brethren; rather like LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins this forgoes the linear approach to offer an open world experience on the 3DS. We'll see how it stacks up in a review. Available from 14th November.

DSiWare
Fishdom (Joindots, 500 Nintendo Points) — DSiWare is back, again, with a match-three puzzle game. These games can be undeniably fun, though we'll see whether this is a bit fishy in our review.

MK8 DLC and Golden Sun!
But castlevania gba?
Already pre-purchased the MK dlc really looking forward to that, might buy stealth inc 2 this week as well
TENGAMI!!!!!!
At last
@stefostyle
I hope it will come in the coming weeks!
For this week: MK8 DLC, Golden Sun. Vania X will wait until the GBAvanias are completely released.
airace xeno demo for me. maybe even the game. i liked the the first airace speed
Yes! At last we get some more Castlevania releases in europe. I expect the GBA games will be released in the coming weeks.
A question; Weren't you supposed to get a free Shovel Knight theme for 3DS if you bought the game? I can't find the theme in the theme shop, so I just assumed it would be released this week, but it seems like it won't. Have I missed something?
Why only the 3DS Lego Batman 3 game? I got sick the Lego Batman 2 game on the tiny handheld. I need to go back to my origins with Lego Batman 3 on Wii U!
@Peach64 1st comment nails it.
I wasnt expecting Goldensun so its a welcome suprise .
@Tsurii897
Same! There are only 2 Golden Suns on the GBA right?
Already bought mario DLC so Paper Monters for me is a must.
Tengami and MK8 DLC for me, but first (today or tomorrow) Shovel Knight!! _
@BensonUii Yep, the third one is a DS game.
Voted Tengami, because of course I'm getting mk8 DLC
@DarkCoolEdge
Cool. I hope they'll release the DS game too. Also I hope they put an option on the DS VC to split the screen to the gamepad and TV later.
Nintendos release schedule seems crazy to me. After weeks of nothing very interesting now there's 4 games I'm kind of interested in on the same day as the Mario Kat DLC and on week after Shovelknight.
GOLDEN SUN THE LOST AGE? YES! FINAALLY! 8D I've been waiting for this for months!
I am sooo pumped to play as Link on the Master Cycle! Can't wait!
@chiptoon Only Golden Sun and the Mario Kart 8 DLC is published by Nintendo this week, and Shovel Knight wasn't published by Nintendo either.
Great, both Golden Sun games, that's great, some of the best RPG in GBA. So excited for the DLC, too. This is great, because I won't think too much in Super Smash Bros release! I just hope Golden Sun The Lost Age comes to America, too.
@JoakimZ Doesn't matter if Nintendo has published the ohers or not. They still have a big say in what can be released when on their download platforms.
Golden sun, castlevania vampires kiss and Mario kart DLC can't wait
Wow, this is an amazing week. Tengami, Mk8, Golden Sun AND Castlevania (even if it's not the PC engine). Keep it up, Nintendo!
Just the MK8 DLC, got the Golden Sun games physically on GBA so no need for a purchase.
Does anyone know when mega man 7 is going to be released in europe?
@KeeperBvK While that is true, most of the time the developers pick the date
@97alexk It was released last week. Now go buy it right this minute!
MK8 DLC of course and Tengami, if your review recommends it!
The DLC is already payed for! Will get GS once i get around to buy the first one.
2 cardboard/paper games at once. I voted on Tengami, but might get both. Both have decent prices too.
Kind "stupid" to vote on MK 8 DLC as its a obvious get. I already payed for both.
Release date was originally next week, but pushed back. I hope DLC 2 is pushed back too as May 15 is too far away.
Oh, I didn't know Europe was getting Golden Sun 2.
Can't wait to play it in about May in North America.
Getting Golden Sun 2! I still have the GBA cart, but I'll do what I can to increase the chances for a 4th entry!
The rest is lame.
One of the few times i wish i could click on more than one item.
I will get the Mario Kart DLC and Picross e5.
Golden Sun, eh? Between that and Warioland 4, Minish Cap, and Castlevania, I may need to check out the GBA VC games soon.
I live in America, but obviously.. Mario Kart 8 DLC for me. It's been pre-ordered since August 27th, so it will auto-download and be ready for me once I return home from work! . Can't wait!
MK8 DLC and Tengami (if only just to enjoy the art experience to the music of David Wise). Will get Paper Monster Recut when a patch has been released.
Golden sun is one of the most underrated game series,So ill get that along with the MK8 dlc which i paid for months ago
Well.... I hope golden Sun comes to NA and doesn't take months and months like SMB3 and Link to the past did. All the people whining about Castlevania in Europe can now stop whining too as they are getting them now.
A lot of nice releases this week! Mario Kart 8 DLC, Tengami and Golden Sun are al on my wishlist, but it is MK8 DLC that I will be getting first
@ThomasBW84 could you release some of the icy icy outpost track footage? That is my most wanted track in the dlc!!! Oh BTW I already preordered the dlc!!
Nice, I saw the Backloggery guys play Elite Forces and thought it looked awesome. Definitely gonna pick that up iwhen it hits NA.
Looks like Meine Ersten Mitsing-Lieder is the German version of My First Songs - http://www.amazon.de/Mindscape-Meine-ersten-Mitsing-Lieder/dp/B0044XBS4Q
Just Crystalis left on GBC that I am interested in when I get Bionic Commando : Elite Forces. (Possibly Dragon Quest III but I think it is unlikely and the new mobile version will probably be based on the SFC best version).
Mario Kart DLC and Dracula X on the Wii U, and Bionic Commando Elite Forces and maybe AiRace Xeno on 3DS, plus I'll put Picross e5 on my Watch List so I'll have something to download during a 'quiet' week in the future.
Tengami looks really interesting but judging from the iOS reviews I've seen then £7.99 is probably a little steep for it and I'll wait for a discount.
Still no Demon's Crest...
mmm... really hoping the Golden Sun sequel will be available in Canada this week as well...
Tengami and Mario Kart DLC.
Mario Kart 8 DLC.
Tengami is very nice.
MK8 DLC!
@unrandomsam
Have you played this Bionic Commando? I never played it originally, but I loved the NES one.
PICROSS e5 and MK8 DLC - awesome week!
Europe has been getting some great Virtual Console stuff lately. PLEASE bring the DKC games and the Golden Sun sequel to the US!
Golden Sun!!!
Now just to get the Lost Age on Wii U VC for USA! For now that would be good enough....
Only Mario Kart DLC for me this week.
there's sure gonna be lots of Link players when this comes out at least for the first week but I'm gonna be one of them however i wont stop playing as link till the day I die XD
Pushing out the crap Castlevanias before the GBAs...
(Yeah, yeah - flame on! )
Paid for Mario Kart DLC on day one when it was announced a while ago. Will get Castlevania and Golden Sun this week. And maybe Bionic Commando sometime later.
@stefostyle get the weak one out the way first, then nothing but gold ahead.
Why do nintendo believe that we would much rather play gba games on big screen rather than on the 3DS? Do nintendo live in upsidedown land , also why the lack of 3ds announcements? Do they believe announcing like 3 games most of which are old ports for is enough to satisfy everyone? What if we don't want to play zelda or other ports again? I'm mad because I didn't buy a 3ds for nostalgia , I want to play entirely new games and they are not fooling me with nostalgia releases.
Ok why no pier sol? And rock zombie? Still waiting!
MK 8 DLC, Tengami, Paper Monsters, Picross e5. Maybe demo for AiRace Xeno & Golden Son. Have to check my Wii Vc to see if I actually have Rondo
Any of the discounts any good?
MK8 DLC, Tengami, and still last weeks The Swapper and Shovel Knight to get. (And Bayonetta 2 when I finished Bayo1).
Calling the SNES Drac X a "port" of the PC Engine rev is stretching the meaning of the word "port" until it has, literally, no meaning at all.
I would like to know how the transfer will work with Golden Sun The Lost Age. It still seems vague. I guess I will have to wait until it is released here in America to try it out.
Pardon, @NL
but as my final comment can't technically be one of personal affluence, I simply must point out: the Lost Age does NOT take place during the first game. It is a direct sequel which overlaps with just the final battle and end game content. For reference, the brief write up here also contains a slight grammatical error.
Again, thanks for your time.
Picross e number 5 already?!
Golden Sun 2? Oh yes. Oh yes indeed. -still patiently awaiting Golden Sun 4 announcement-
@FlaygletheBagel yes and for the 3ds
donkey kong land 1-3
game and watch gallery 3
harvest moon 3
lufia:the legend returns
@mh1989 Because we do, I'd rather play GBA games on my Wii U than a tiny screen. Also, there have been many 3DS announcements. I guess you missed Pokemon and Zelda Majora's Mask. Plus, the 3DS is 4 years old now, within the next two years, we are going to start seeing the next family of handhelds. Also, I don't get what you are going on about games. There are TONS of games on the 3DS, a lot came out recently and then there are a bunch coming, Story of Season, pokemon, Zelda, Persona Q etc. Like, the 3DS has tons of non nostalgic games.
@JoakimZ You could download the theme either via a button on the "you have purchased the game, hurrah" screen, OR you can go deep into the eShop app and check your purchase logs for the receipt, you'll find a download code there, which you put into the Theme Shop.
@mh1989
Yes, I would. Unlike you, I am not some graphics freaks. I like to play games on a big screen, The handhelds are nice where they are portable but when I play games, I mostly play when I am not on the move because usually when I go out somewhere, I don't have time to play games because well.... I am doing something else. If they released them on the 3DS, I'd have hardly any of them. Beside, the resolution isn't really all that bad, the game looks fine, plays fine and there is no trouble at all. It surprises me even more how you are saying that they are ignoring the console when you have games that people have been wanting to get for years and then even still making new ips for the system when take a look at what the Wii U was the first two years it came out. Marketing was almost non existent, game droughts like there was no tomorrow, delay after delay after delay. Features that were supposed to be implemented still have not arrived and yet you say they are ignoring the 3DS...even those tons of releases are happening even now. Please, that kind of thinking is just pathetic.
Also, if you are going to compare those games as "just another X" What are you expecting? You can then just take any game genre and say "Oh, this game is just another whatever. Mario for example, "Oh, this is just another platformer. Harvest Moon, Oh, just another farming sim. Cod, Destiny, BF, oh, this is just another shooter, Xenoblade, oh, just another RPG. So really, What are you wanting? New IPs? Well, lets see, Project S.T.E.A.M... oh that is just another tactics game. Spatoon? Oh, just another 3rd person shooter. You get it now? When you group stuff like that, you basically say every game is boring or just another this and if you are like that, maybe it is time you quit gaming, it'll save you money.
Is there any confirmed time for the MK8 DLC? Is it on thursday like all the other junk?
13th of November 00:06h and I still can't download it (bought the 2 pack in pre-sale for 12€) how late does it go online?
@Nintygek It's just gone midnight here and I can't download it either :/
Is it not a midnight release?
@emiingham apparently not........... 02:12 and still nothing :-/
