@Dev-N agreed, there are many things broken about this game without having to resort to extremes like this. Man, really wanted to like MKW, but it's just a far inferior game to MK8. Making me appreciate what a masterpiece MK8 is now. its really the uninspired track design and the amount of tedious straights that are killing it for me mostly

@Blofse cant say i am a fan of LRG, but to be fair there is a bunch of other games by different devs/publishers that are not available and i imagine LRG are correct in saying there is something about the Switch 2 coding prohibiting these games from working. Prob an easy fix on Nintendos side

@Olliemar28 man, i figured being in the games industry you would have at least got early access for having reviews in place or something. Nintendo dont give much away lol

i understand getting a game onto a cartridge is not easy for certain publishers, but i still dont see why bother? its just a digital game with an unnecessary piece of plastic. Either have the game on the cartridge or dont. I actually kinda dont get it. Is it to satisfy collectors or people who insist on having something 'physical' so they feel better about having the game that way (even though its a totally empty gesture of sorts)?

the game goal is 60K (reached), but they need 150K to bring Imamura on board to design one boss character. Is he getting paid 90k for one character design?

@Smug43 the fandom around this one game does get tiring. there are better MV's out there there. people act like it is some insane tier of game. the fact it has taken 6 years to make a 2D game is silly as well. I remember when a game used to get toward the 4/5 year mark that is was considered insane and 'development hell'

Switch 2 doesnt have 'beefy launch line-up'. I am gonna be playing Ridge Racer because there aint much there. Take mario kart wt out and its very weak for a console that has been so long in development. All that time and Nintendo couldnt even get the new DK game for launch. Still no date on elden ring. Its actually an extremely poor launch line up

All Konami had to do was lean into one of their major IP's and it would have been hype. good grief, could they have not got the Silent Hill 2 remake simply ported over as a massively appealing launch title? Instead we get this generic everyday kids game aesthetic that already feels 5 years out of date and that literally no one wants.

@SwitchplayerJohn i know right. There is a kind of line being crossed here where this just feels kind of lame. Its when a company tries to integrate itself too much with your life. All most people want is the ability to filter shovelware/gamespam out of the eshop searches.

isnt Castle of Heart basically a kind of shovelware switch title? credit it to them if they have turned it into something good and it features as a low cost (perma-sale) staple in the no doubt huge Switch 2 Souls like catalogue (really hoping Lords of the Fallen makes its way onto Switch 2)

its funny that he appeals to 'the truth', which is a fair enough assessment that everything costs more to produce and extra taxes on top dont help. But this is just a partial truth, and if someone were to go into the whole 'truth' then you would have a several hour long lecture. Bottom line is that wealth has broadly been stripped away from the populations and transferred almost all to an ultra elite. This process accelerated with covid. Now everyone is struggling except those who have had massive amounts of wealth funnelled to them. our governments, left and right all helped with this wealth transfer. The 'system' enabled it. And now everyone is broke and has to watch prices continue to rise on pretty much every commodity and Randy Pitchford is by and large right that this is just how it is now and people have to cope. That he doesn't say it in a 'sensitive' manner is neither here nor there. the facts remain the same

idk if i can keep pretending a joycon is gonna function like a normal mouse. From feedback of people that have used it, its kinda is, but not really. that wheelchair basketball game has people just reporting they were getting serious wrist and joint fatigue after just a short while playing

@Hee-ho-master this all seems very baseless to me, and he got dragged for 'Russian sympathies' on fairly baseless grounds. Some people have it out for him, and this sick purity testing where if you slightly step out of line on an ideological issue has to stop. He makes good games.

Honestly think thats pretty decent sales for a late Switch game. Its a stellar DKC game to be fair. Way better platformer than something like Super Mario Bros Deluxe

chances of anyone not totally obsessive and wealthy getting a hold of a booster box are ZERO. they wont be gone soon as they 'hit the shelves', they will be gone even before that.

i hope for Pacmans sake it does well, but there is something about these games that feel passe now. Like they feel like 2018 era or st. a kind of overworn formula in the way 'souls likes' are becoming very tedious now

@MrGawain i think thats the bottom line. a studio full of talented staff and lower tier staff needs to pull in a heck of a lot of income.

can only hope that the laxity Nintendo have had with Switch in terms of junk and shovelware is cleaned up a bit with Switch 2

This indeed looks quite epic. maybe a bit too attached to the BotW/TotK worldbuilding. Feel something like this should be more sea heavy, and underwater exploring in ships and what not. but top aesthetic vibes overall

@Expa0 what i like about FE games is the tough difficulty on harder modes. playing these games easy feels pointless. disappointed to hear this one is an easy game

@timp29 the whole 'lore' thing is kinda weird. i cant get taking it super serious in the case of Zelda because even Nintendo themselves said they dont take zelda lore seriously at all

is it just me or is this not all just kind of annoying? squeezing more money out of these two games on the premise of some app talking to you through your phone is just grossly corporate. all so you can do pointless things like find more koroks, which are just map filler to begin with. Couldnt they have made a DLC for TotK or something to create some meaningful content that would have been genuinely exciting? its just a tech overload with the walkthrough now connected to the game and directing you around the place. this is not the joy of gaming tbh but more like metaverse stuff or st.

looks great, but something in me died and i cannot play any form of 2D Metroidvania anymore. Used to love them

@Gorlock the one hit with the super weapon part was fun, but chasing down those points on the map was a chore

never played Undertale. never liked to look of it. zero hype for this altho half the world seems hyped. Hyped for Silksong tho

i was kinda surprised by the hype for this because Croc games are not games that hold up particular well. they were good with the advent of 3D platformers, but they are not great games by anymeans. Spyro, Ape Escape and Crash games hold up way better. still good to see it revamped tho
