BDSP to me are still perfect Poekemon experiences. Could they have been better if they were based on Platinum? Yes but not by much. Overall i had the most fun with Shining Pearl playing a Pokemon game since the original Pearl.
@JakedaArbok It is an excellent game that gets new content patches every 6 weeks ranging from new areas to explore to new story quests to events. It got really high production values and polish that puts many recently high profile AAA games to shame.
It is on PC, PS4/5 and Mobile. It is still supposed to be released on Switch but i honestly don't see that happening anymore. That this game even runs on Mobile is a technical marvel.
If you like open world games i would highly recommend playing it. There is no reason to spend money in this game. I always wonder how they made so much money in the first year because the game pretty much gives you everything you need anyway and the waifus are so tame compard to other gachas.
And once you reached endgame you will have enough currency saved up to target a few characters you like (might take some time until they are available) and after that you can pretty much ignore the gacha.
If you have some time i would recommend watching "a serious critique of genshin impact" by NeverKnowsBeast on youtube.
@TCF That a Wii got less input lag than the original hardware is so amazing. The emulators they build for those games on Wii are just a work of art at this point.
Shame that Legacy will die with that. Rellay enjoyed that format.
But it is a done deal now. PTCGO will die shortly before PTCGL will start. Time to move on or stop playing. For me it will be the second option because the format i was playing the most will no longer exist.
Making a top 5 of all time is so damn hard. Let me try to write down 5 games in order of release.
Terranigma (SNES) 1995
Wave Race 64 (N64) 1996
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) 1998
Pokémon 2nd Gen (GB) 1999
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II - Rogue Leader (GCN) 2001
Mafia (PC) 2002
Planetside (PC) 2003
Wii Sports Resort (Wii) 2009
Anno 2070 (PC) 2011
Mario Kart 8 (WiiU) 2014
Splatoon (WiiU) 2015
Life is Strange (PC) 2015
@Beaucine Agreed.
Just look at some of the most played games and some modes of others at the moment. The Battle Royal craze can be linked back to an Arma 2 Mod. MOBAs got their roots in a Sctar Craft mod. And Autochess games stem from a Dota 2 Mod. And finally we have Half Life that gave birth to countless mods and at least one of those became one of the bggest game ever and that one spawned more games.
Around 50% of the most watched games on Twitch right now would not exist without modders.
I really do not understand Splatoon 3. That should have been a game for the next console. Same with a potential Mario Kart 9.
The one game i i am really interested in is Triangle Tactics but that is a game that iw ill be able to get on PC. I am still waiting for that one game that makes me want to buy a Switch. I just have too many of the WiiU ports already.
It is a great game so far. Combat is simple but got some nice depth to it. Am only AR14 but the story so far is engaging and i want to see where it leads. If you like these kind of games i would highly recommend to try it. I was lucky and got a 5* on my first 10 pulls but so far it does not seem like you need them to enjoy the story. That might change towards the end but who knows.
I can't really rate these. I own 2 (3D Land and Sunshine) but never played them far enough to give a fair rating. Every few years i pick up a Mario JnR but after a while i realise that i only ever really enjoyed Mario Land 1 and 2. Especially 6 Golden coins is my favorit of those that i have played and i would give that one easily a 10/10 but it is not a 3d Mario.
Out of the two i onw i liked 3D Land better than Sunshine.
It was a stupid anti consumer move by Nintendo and they fixed that now. Problem solved. Hope a few people that got hyped by Pikmin 3 on Switch that don't own a Switch but a WiiU can now enjoy the game.
@Tuulenpoika The best i can come up with is FOMO. Nintendo wants to boost sales for this fiscal year so they make a limited release of a highly sought after product.
Does not really make much sense to me but we need to have perpetual growth to make shareholders happy.
I don't see Google as a problem here. They allow different shops to be installed on Android and you can just sideload apks anywak. Apple is a completely closed eco system and i wonder why the EU has not decided to get involved yet. They love to clamp down on this stuff.
Well the pictures look like TR 3, Anniversary and Guardian of Light.
A collection of Legends, Anniversary, Underworld and the two games in the Lara Croft series would make for a really good collection. The older games have not really aged that well in my oppinion and could be ignored for all i care.
Just compared the new Hanafuda cards to the old ones we were able to get with the old loyalty programm. The new ones have different pictures. But since i already have the old ones i have no need for these.
There are not even many first Party Titles left that sold over 2 million copies on the WiiU and did not get a port or sequel on Switch. One is 3D World and the other is WW HD.
Games that might be still interesting to port over are Fatal Frame, the Zelda remakes, Pikmin 3, 3D World and Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Games that might have fringe chance might be Color Splash (unlikeky now), Star Fox (would need new and better controls) and Woolly World.
Most people have not played any of these games since the majority sold rather poorly. So i can completely understand giving them a new home on the Switch.
Well companies will just add this kind of stuff after launch. We have seen it before. In the end this will do nothing.
And don't forget that the ESBR is run by the ESA and that one is run by the publishers. This is nothing more than a pr stunt to get goverment off their back for a few more months.
Honestly if you did not know about this before you bought it this issue could be so gamebreaking for your personal situation that it deserves a 0/10.
It is such a stupid choice by Nintendo that makes no sense at all.
Depending on how this evolves over time i would say the extra quests are really good and the extra two bonds are very close to p2w. If the free heroes stay the same quality they are worthless The other two qol changes are nice to have. Kind of a shame that those are locked behind a paywall tho.
@I-U I recently took a look at Gen 1 to 5 to see how many Pokemon were available in a single game to catch (including all the coices) The games in Gen 5 were around 450. If you discount the choices like starters or fossils you did not get it would be less.
I don't know about Gen 6 but i read the base game of Gen 7 had just over 400. Not sure if that is counting all possible pokemon or just the ones you pick and discount the ones you don't.
@cool_boy_mew Yes because compared to the additional content in previous gens this at least seems like some decent content. It will also make SwSh the game with the most catchable pokemons ever.
I am not taking into account the content of the base game for that evaluation. We all know its lacking. But if you just look at what is added its is much better than what we had before. Again B2W2 is better than this dlc.
@Miles_Edgeworth Well the 200 pokemon will be fully added about a year after release. I would assume half in the first dlc. part and the other half in the second dlc part.
So there is some considerable time spend on developing these. At least 7 - 8 months for the first pack and a little less on the second.
@cool_boy_mew No SM and USUM were 4 times the same game with minimal additions to USUM.
Now its 2 times the same game with some real additions to the game. Of couse buying the dlc twice will result in pretty uch the same contnet twice. Still this is better than any third/fourth version beside B2W2.
What third/fourth versions were actually worth the money if you already owned the base game?
Beside B2W2 no other version was worth the asking price if you already owned the base game. Even tho they were always the best version of the game.
This dlc seems much more meatier than everything nearyl alll third/fourth version have ever offered.

Pokemon and Zelda in the top 10 was expected but is correct. Those games are endlessly replayable.
