Re: Talking Point: Why Pokémon Sword & Shield's Expansion Pass Changes The Rules For The Series

@I-U I recently took a look at Gen 1 to 5 to see how many Pokemon were available in a single game to catch (including all the coices) The games in Gen 5 were around 450. If you discount the choices like starters or fossils you did not get it would be less.

I don't know about Gen 6 but i read the base game of Gen 7 had just over 400. Not sure if that is counting all possible pokemon or just the ones you pick and discount the ones you don't.

@cool_boy_mew Yes because compared to the additional content in previous gens this at least seems like some decent content. It will also make SwSh the game with the most catchable pokemons ever.

I am not taking into account the content of the base game for that evaluation. We all know its lacking. But if you just look at what is added its is much better than what we had before. Again B2W2 is better than this dlc.

@Miles_Edgeworth Well the 200 pokemon will be fully added about a year after release. I would assume half in the first dlc. part and the other half in the second dlc part.
So there is some considerable time spend on developing these. At least 7 - 8 months for the first pack and a little less on the second.

@cool_boy_mew No SM and USUM were 4 times the same game with minimal additions to USUM.
Now its 2 times the same game with some real additions to the game. Of couse buying the dlc twice will result in pretty uch the same contnet twice. Still this is better than any third/fourth version beside B2W2.

Re: Fire Emblem: Three Houses Patch Revises Sensitive Dialogue

Without context i can totally see Nintendo not wanting to have this kind of subject in their games.
But what is the change suppose to accomplish? The end result is the same.
And i don't see any force or preasure applied on Nintendo to change it. So i would not say this is censorship. This is just them being themself. We have seen this kind of stuff from Nintendo for decades.

Re: Is This Our First Real Look At Nintendo Switch Mini?

Sinister

Don't Focus on the render of the console. focus on the shell. Thats the real part.
And since they build it it will fit some specific hardware. Will this be the Switch Mini noone will know for sure until it is announced. But since they say it is for the Switch Mini i would put some credebility to that.
A Switch Mini would be great for me. With a screen size around 5.5 inch it would be perfect for handheld play. And thats all i want. A new handheld. The Switch is still too expensive for the games it offers to me since i own so many on my WiiU already.
But if this is around 200€ i would get it at release.

Re: Video: Nintendo's E3 Direct Went From Pedestrian To Perfection

Sinister

I gues not owning a Switch made this rather uninteresting for me. I am still waiting for the one game that makes me want to buy a Switch. I am not a Mario or Smash fan and while i loved Splatoon its sequel is not enough for me to buy a new console.

Even tho the WiiU is objectively worse it stops me from buying a Switch. I already have a quite afew games that otherwise would have made me buy a Switch.

The one thing i was excited about was was the Mana collection. i would buy that if it was available on a system that i already owned. Like WiiU, 3DS or PC.

Re: Feature: Forget Sonic, These Are the 10 Worst Video Game Movies Ever

Sinister

I kinda enjoyed DOA the movie. More of a guilty pleasure movie since it is rather cheesy.
At least the first Mortal Kombat is not on the list. That movie was great. ut Anihalation was just soooo bad i could not even finish watching it.
Tomb raider should also not be on th slist. That wa a decent movie. Nothing special but not bad. I realyl like the reboot tho. Hope we will get more of those.

Re: Talking Point: The Pokémon Trading Card Game Is In Desperate Need of An Evolution

Sinister

I don't get it. The Pokemon TCG is one of the big three ahead of Yu-Gi-Oh and only second to Magic the Gathering.
It offers something Magic players really want. Codes to redeem packs online in every pack. Could the online version require a facelift? Perhaps but it is not needed.
The game is far from being left behind. It is the second most suuccessful card game ever created and it does not show any sign of failing. Heck there was even a time a couple of years ago where Magic had rather big problems and Pokemon made a lot of ground on it.
