Re: Talking Point: What Do You Want To See From Nintendo At E3 2018?

SigourneyBeaver

I don't get much time to follow Nintendo as I did, so my hopes might be wildly optimistic.

So, I'll get what I don't want out of the way to start with - Donkey Kong. Great games, of course. But you can have too much of a good thing and I'm seriously fatigued with DK now.

Less of the odd spin-off games like Mario Sports Mix/Superstars

And now for what I want:

It's time for a peek at Metroid, even if it's not a 2018 game. Last year we got a name, this year we need at least a target render of something.

Animal Crossing needs a new game, even if I'm not a huge fan. It's the sort of game I buy digitally, so I don't have to put the cart/disc in to just have 5 minutes on when I want to play.

Ditto Tomodachi life.

Mario Maker for Switch would be nice.

Re: Hands On: The Future Of Gaming Is Cardboard, Thanks To Nintendo Labo

Nintendo never ceases to amaze me. They were nowhere with the Wii U, so you could forgive them for playing it safe this time. But they came out swiging with the Switch. Then they announce this, which is so bold and outrageously bizarre. A couple of weeks ago I was expecting Nintendo to consolidate the Switch's position by announcing more AAA games and this has completely turned things on its head. I love it!

Re: Multiple Sources Outline a Portable NX With Detachable Controllers, Including a 'Base Station' for TV

SigourneyBeaver

I think this is a fantastic idea.

I have one concern though, and that's how the controllers attach. If it's supposed to be a proper home console experience when it's in the base connected to the TV, the controller should be like Wii U Pro Controller. So how are they going to attach to either end of a portable?

What if the two halves of the controller clip together after you take them off the portable? That would give you a full controller for at home and controls for the portable.

Re: Project Sonic 2017 Confirmed for Nintendo NX Release

SigourneyBeaver

That they made a point of saying it's made by the Colours and Generations team and that classic Sonic is in it, I would guess it will be like those games. Which isn't a bad thing. But the setting worries me. I'm seeing houses and bridges and real world stuff that shouldn't be in a Sonic game. It should be abstract, fantasy stuff.

Re: New Project CARS Screenshots Race Into View

SigourneyBeaver

Nintendo systems hardly ever have proper realistic racing games and I seriously doubt this will be released. And if it does, what the hell are they going to do with the digital triggers?

Why oh why didn't Nintendo use analogue triggers? They did it with the Gamecube controller and the classic controller.
