Re: Talking Point: Are You Excited At All For Switch 2 GameChat?

ShikabaneHime13

Yup! I didn’t like the thought of having to jump through hoops when playing AC or Splatoon with friends before. I also find it neat that we can all be playing different games and share the footage at the same time. Looks like an easy way to open conversations about games my friends or myself might not have known about or were on the fence for. I tend to buy a lot of lesser known games while most of my friends are near die-hard Nintendo first-party gamers (with some exceptions here and there of course), so this looks like a great means of letting them see for themselves something they may have otherwise slept on and vice versa.

Re: Poll: So, Did You Manage To Get A Switch 2 Pre-Order In? (North America)

I had success at Gamestop in-store. Arrived at 6am (was taking no chances after the online fiasco), one person in line since 3 am (he couldn’t get anything online either). Line didn’t really start to grow until 9/9:30-ish. Store had a note on the door that they were allotted 12 standalone systems, 26 bundles. Joycons were in the system but not available for preorder. Got just about everything else I wanted thanks to trading two Lites to secure my preorder (Bundle, Pro Controller, Camera, Rune Factory, Bravely Default, Kimberly Amiibo). Gonna keep an eye out for joy cons since I like having spares

Re: Level-5's 'Vision 2024' Showcase To Share Multiple Project Updates And Announce Brand New Title

I still (beyond all reasonable hope) wish that YW4 would actually release along with the remasters made for the Switch. But I digress…

On another note, this is why Level 5 has fallen behind and probably led to the closure of the western offices… The company bites off so much more than they can feasibly chew and their expectations were always sky-high in what they expected profit wise from their products. They really did have a goldmine with the Yokai series, games and toys but not only did they not balance it well (oversaturation with spin-offs and going crazy on the medals/keys) but they didn’t really seem to have a set direction for it and let what success it did have go to their heads. And don’t get me started on how it was handled translation-wise here in the West. It felt… janky by comparison to its original version. I mean, I can understand not every pun name if the monsters would translate well, but they also did a major disservice by treating their target audience (kids) like idiots and dumbed down a lot of stuff with the localization which made it feel… uninteresting. YW4 did a lot of neat things with the story and the battle mechanics but the tragedy of the offices shuttering after it was announced for the West was just… ugh.

With that said, I really can’t wait to play Decapolice and Fantasy Life i

Re: Random: Zelda Super Fans Are Already Queuing Outside Nintendo's Store For Tears Of The Kingdom

I will be surprised if the store staff don’t make them move since reservation holders aren’t supposed to line up until an hour before their slot time. I remember seeing his freak out on Twitter when the morning reservation slots (10am-12pm) were announced Monday. I got a reservation for the midnight group, so the “flex” of being outside 72 hours before your time makes no sense to me when the point is you are already guaranteed entry at a specific time (in his case, not until 10am on Friday).

Re: Round Up: The Rune Factory 5 Reviews Are In

Been playing since last Thursday after stumbling across a shop selling early. Game has been amazing. Perfect? Not by a long shot but the framrrate issues are pretty negligible as far as i’m concerned. Characters and story have been fun. Currently in the the first Summer and easily getting sidetracked with the farming and getting to know the bachelors/bachelorettes better. I foresee many hours going into this game (currently at 70+)

@Ghostipuffs Lol. Hey, I tried to leave stuff for other fans >.< I know the XSeed store turned off orders sometime last week after they tweeted about ensuring addresses were correct since they’ll be preparing to ship orders probably this week. But Amazon still has both standard and Earthmate editions up for grabs (same with Best Buy) so hopefully last minute parties interested can get their orders in for launch delivery.

Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch OLED Model

ShikabaneHime13

I have a White OLED preordered via Gamestop but will be in NYC at launch so looking to get the Red/Blue variant from Nintendo NYC. They tweeted about opening a reservation system for launch day to purchase the consoles, metroid dread and the amiibo pack between 8am-11am before the store opens to the general public at 11am. Gonna try my luck to get a reservation

Re: Rune Factory 5 Release Date Finally Confirmed For Next Year

ShikabaneHime13

@nessisonett Yeah, Xseed’s localization blog says they pushed for the option even before actual localization work began and coded proper pronoun choices ahead of time once work started. Then, when they got the affirmative that it would be implemented, they had the jump start on having NPCs respond accordingly. So happy they made the efforts to see it implemented into the game. Just wish it wasn’t a 6 month wait for it…
