Another week has passed, with plenty of Nintendo-related news that's kept us intrigued. There were our reviews for games like The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles and NEO: The World Ends With You, Streets of Rage 4's DLC finally arrived on Switch, Monster Hunter Rise got awesome Okami-themed DLC, and Nintendo says it absolutely hasn't forgotten about Animal Crossing: New Horizons; yes there were also new games for Switch Online. There were some lighter moments too, including one StreetPass fan's attempts to get hits in New York, and some rather freaky box art for Super Meat Boy.
There was plenty going on, so it's time to chill out and discuss our weekend gaming plans. A few members of the Nintendo Life team have done just that below, so feel free to give our entries a read and then join in with your own via our comment section. Enjoy!

Like, I suspect, plenty of others I'll be spending a decent amount of time with The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles this week; I finished the first chapter and it's been fantastic so far. I still have a long way to go in Skyward Sword HD so will try to dip in, and I'll also be jumping back into Monster Hunter Rise to get the Okami-themed content.
On other systems I'll try out The Ascent, if I can find the time!

This week I've been playing a loooooooot of The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles! I know I already reviewed it, but I'm taking a more leisurely stroll through the cases now that I don't have a deadline. Also, tons of Minecraft — I just joined a friend's server that's SO FANCY AND COOL that I have to build a house immediately in order to make sure I can stay there forever.

OBJECTION! Capcom, how am I supposed to play The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles when you fail to provide the European audience with a physical edition? I shake my head at you like the great Herlock Sholmes. At least Samurai Warriors 5, NEO: The World Ends With You and the recent arrival of West of Dead: Path of the Crow physical edition will surely keep me more than busy in front of the almighty Switch.
Game of the week is the extremely accomplished conversion of Skydrift Infinity, not only for providing all the arcade thrills of air racing but for making me long for a new Pilotwings entry down the line.

I gave up with Skyward Sword, folks... Look, I'm not proud of it, but I've gone away on my holibobs this weekend, and I want to spend my time playing some familiar comforts. I've booted up Super Mario Sunshine again (because it looks like the real sun has said goodbye for now!), and I've restarted the wonderful Celeste.
When I get back home, I'll be booting up The Ascent on the Series X, and will also be exploring the world with Microsoft Flight Simulator. And no, I'm not at all annoyed that the first tech preview of Halo Infinite started just as I left for my holiday..!
Jon Cartwright, video producer
I've made a trend of beating all Switch Zelda games 100% (apart from the Hyrule Warriors games because I'm not mad) which leaves Skyward Sword. I just recently hit credits but I've got a couple more heart containers and a small handful of side quests before I can truly call it complete. It's been fun revisiting this one, I always appreciated certain aspects of it but I've never had a playthrough this enjoyable.
Zelda's had me holding off from diving into either Ace Attorney or Neo The World Ends With You so I'll be picking up one of those soon, likely starting with the latter...although with Flight Simulator & the Halo Infinite Preview just hitting Xbox it's going to be quite a juggle. Too many games!

This weekend I plan on playing more Blaster Master Zero 3. I loved the first two entries, and especially appreciate how simple they are to complete. Beyond that, I recently picked up Creature in the Well on a sale and I’m really curious to see how it plays!
Otherwise, I recently began another playthrough of Metroid: Samus Returns, and will likely try to wrap that this weekend, too. I know some didn’t like that entry as much for being too linear, but I think MercurySteam did a great job with it and I can’t wait to see how they handle Metroid Dread.
As always, thanks for reading! Make sure to leave us a comment below with your gaming choices over the next few days...

I'm playing Chernobylite.
I finished Disgaea 6 this past week, which I LOVED, so now I'm going back to Atelier Ryza 2. It's also my 18th birthday on Sunday so I'm expecting to get some games as gifts, which I'll definitely play as well. Hoping this will be a fun birthday weekend!
Ace Attorney alright here i come, that is after diablo 3 playthrough. Happy weekend all.
De blob (NS) - bought this game this week after a friend recommended it to me and rebeltaxi/panpizza recommended it. Great game so far.
Pokemon shield (NS) - got 5 shinies this week but I’m trying to catch all overworld shinies in route 1. Still a wooloo and nickit to go.
Wolfenstein the new order (ps4/ps5) - fun shooter so far, heard good things about the franchise from my brother.
Blind (PSVR/ps5) - a social worker that helps me twice per week recommended this to me, gonna play it once I feel like VR.
This week I will be mostly playing
Skyward Sword
Mario Vs DK 2
Darkest Dungeon most likely, and maybe more Tropical Freeze and Wizard of Legend if I feel like it.
I played these 3DS games: 🤓
1. Yokai Watch 2: Bony Spirits
2. Animal Crossing New Leaf
3. Maho Cole: Maho⭐Idol Collection
Lots of pokemon unite, some ninjala here and there, A lot of apex legends, but for the most part I'm trying to finish okami.
pokémon unite all weekend
Skyward Sword. I am still loving this game. I have sunk over 25 hours into the game and while I can understand the frustrations, the improvements are making it an enjoyable experience for me.
gonna be playing neo the world ends with you, i'm about 12 hours in and only at 9% complete. this is gonna be a long one.
Slay the Spire
Aery calm minds is a simple flight game that runs smooth and is calming. Broken Circle is a simple platformer with a good story so far.
I am also playing Rocket League, Need for Speed and New Horizons.
Happy gaming everyone!
It's been an amazing week indeed. However, I've decided to go retro and play the entire Ys saga before I dive into Ys IX Monstrum Nox. So I've just started Oath in Felghana (yep, I'm overlooking the two first games, they look pretty old XD).
And after this saga, I'll probably go for the Legend of Heroes one.
Ah, and I'm also beating Zelda Minish Cap for the first time, and throughly enjoying it!
Skyward Sword HD for me...32 hours in and still a long way to go methinks. Just done the Ancient Cistern which I really enjoyed.
Skyward sword. Enjoying it a lot
More of the SNES library on NSO, with Super Mario World and Super Mario Kart.
After having put 100+ hours into the default Stardew Valley farm, I've created a new hill-top farm. This games gameplay loop is just so satisfying and enjoyable for me. Might also try getting through some of the heats in Hades, and then maybe some slay the spire! Two great rouge lites. Happy weekend everyone!
"Halo Infinite" closed beta here.
With Highrise Heroes behind (possibly the best word search game I've played even if it lacks the RPG elements of Letter Quest and Spellspire), the Switch front has seen me closing in on Burnout Paradise completion (at least the main campaign - there are still Big Surf Island and the bikes), but there are still plenty of roads left to "rule" first. Showtime is pretty fun, though, reminiscent of a certain Saints Row the 3rd minigame of all things. Then there are newer recruits (last batch until September); Great Ace Attorney dilogy will wait until I'm done with Spirit of Justice, but there are others to sample like Ghostanoid, Lost Sea, Summer in Mara and SuperMash which has already proven every bit the surreal procedural fun I expected. The generated titles and short story clips contribute a lot to the impression, I must add.
And in the remaining Switch time, odds are good for Bioshock 2, Layers of Fear 2 and Terraria, but particularly for Skyrim - all the moreso as the weekend got me bitten with a TES bug yet again, to the point of reinstalling and resuming TESO on PC (this time on an external HDD like GTA 5, but the performance is still solid) and considering some more Morrowind unless TESO's older Vvardenfell scratches that itch enough by itself. And while on PC, I may also invest more time in Just Cause 2, FFXIII and Nights of Azure - I actually installed the latter even here after my other offline option, the Vita port, ultimately proved too underpatched for me. I'm grateful for what was already done (even despite the dialogue box issues which were initially mitigated by prior acquaintance with the invisible lines from my partial PS4 playthrough), but a nerd like me can't play a JRPG well without understanding equipment effects and other crucial menu info. Let's see if third time will be the charm - at this point a part of me just wants to be through with this and move on to the long owned and uncompromisingly portable sequel on Switch.
If other platforms squeeze themselves into all this traditionally wishful planning, it'll likely be Fire Emblem Echoes on 3DS and Tail Concerto on Vita. Time will tell.
Wonderboy: Asha in monster world. And a second play through of moonlighter with the dlc.
Tony hawks pro skater just trying to beat the high score challenges and got pure pool in the eshop sale it’s great the only fault I can find is no overhead view but it’s still excellent
The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles has been living up to its superlative, so far. Watching timid, scared Ryunosuke come out of his shell has been some of the best character work I've seen in the series so far. I love Phoenix and Apollo, but it's really hard to peg down their personality outside of "Cipher with a wry sense of humor." I feel like I'm getting to really know Ryunosuke, and it's pulling me in deeper than the other ones ever did (and I LOVE the other ones).
Decided to finish a couple of games, as a completionist I strive to get 100% on every game. Doing that while watching the Olympics is bliss to me the versatility of the switch never gets old.
So, going to get the last pokemon in pokemon yellow by playing pokemon red, trying to get the last challenges (gold) in mario bros u deluxe, and finishing up ff7 which i got on the switch last year.
Playing a lot of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe online, chassing spirits in Smash Ultimate and doing lessons in Game Builder Garage
3DS: Puzzle & Dragons and Style Savvy: Styling Star. I just started a new playthrough of P&Z. I liked it but never finished it...I don't remember why.
PC: Arcade Spirits. Two achievements left and I should be able to get both this playthrough. Also Death and Taxes. I've finished one playthrough so far and it is...interesting. You are the Grim Reaper and you decide who lives and dies. It's also on Switch and has a demo. That's how I played it originally, but I decided it plays better with a mouse.
Switch: SteamWorld Heist! What a great game, I wish I would have played it sooner. I might get to Cris Tales. I was going to play that when it came out, but SH grabbed my attention and I want to beat it first. Oh and ACNH, as always.
More MH Stories 2, think I'm getting close to the end judging by the story though my levels are around half what JRPG endgame levels usually are so maybe I'm wrong. If I do finish the game this weekend, I'll go back to MH Rise given I'll start Skyward Sword HD after I've finished the upcoming new New Pokemon Snap update content.
Super luckys tale
A hat in time
I’m on chapter 7 of Mother 3 and it is such a special game. I loved Earthbound too so I hope Nintendo finally release a collection one day.
After that I fancy trying Dragon Quest 1 to experience the DNA of JRPGs.
Or maybe for a change of pace try the Castlevania series. I only played a Gameboy one as a kid which apparently wasn’t the best first impression. The nearest thing I’ve played is probably Dead Cells.
Any suggestions on where to start? Probably a linear one to get the fundamentals first.
On Switch, I'm all about Neo: The World Ends With You. I'm so glad one of my all-time favorite games finally got the sequel it deserves! Haven't had many chances to play yet as I just got back from visiting family, but I'm having a blast so far.
On PC, I'll be playing the Final Fantasy I Pixel Remaster. I'm about to revisit the Cavern of Earth right now. I've really been enjoying it so far! It will probably be my favorite way to play the game moving forward, it does a great job of taking the original release and updating it with new art/music and some great QoL changes.
I’m about 25 hours into Skyward Sword now, had a little break to play both Macbat 64 and Toree 3D (which are wonderful, very short 3D platformers in the vain of the N64 era) and now I’m back to it.
I’m collecting the four pieces of Hero’s Song. I really do feel that this game is super front loaded. The pacing for those first three dungeons and everything in between is Zelda bliss. Then after that, there just seems to be a bunch of busy work between each admittedly stellar dungeon.
Regardless, even when doing what essentially amounts to fetch quest after fetch quest, I have been having such a blast. I enjoyed it ten years ago and I’m loving it now too. I like that Fi is way less intrusive but I also worry that she feels kind of not present. Concerned that will affect the impact of the ending but we shall see
We're going camping tomorrow, so I don't know how much gaming there will be. But until my battery dies, I'll be playing Darkest Dungeon, revisiting Two Point Hospital and probably doing a little R-Type Final 2.
Downloaded Children of Morta on sale, but playing nothing. Working and preparing my vacation next week.
NEO: The World Ends With You and a whole lot of Mr. Driller: DrillLand for me this weekend. The former has quickly become one of my top ten Switch games, and the latter, which I just recently picked up on sale, is so wholesome, yet insanely addictive. I love both of these games. They’re fantastic.
Picked up Great Ace Attorney this week, but I still need to finish the third game in the original trilogy which I plan to start this weekend. Otherwise now that I finished Bug Fables and SMT3 I can continue working on the Age of Calamity DLC and Octopath Traveler
No More Heroes 2 and Shenmue 3
Microsoft flight simulator 2020 on series s.
It is awesome!!!
NEO: TWEWY easily. I’m a few chapters in and really enjoying it so far. I love how the way items, clothes and food were originally implemented has pretty much carried over as well as adding in a bunch of new stuff. It feels familiar but still novel.
Switch - Skyward Sword HD!
PS5 - Demon's Souls!
PC - Gmod with friends!
Have a good weekend everyone.
Streets of Rage 4, been really enjoying this game. The survival mode added in by the dlc is really cool too.
@JoeDiddley if you want a linear castlevania the first one on nes is a good start. It’s not an easy game tho but you could play it on switch online with the rewind feature of course or I’d say castlevania 4 snes is another great entry. Besides those 2 most others I’m thinking of have either alternate paths or are full wandering rpg fests, however you should try them all!
This weekend I’ll probably be giving great ace attorney a spin, tho I really need to finish up the 3rd Phoenix Wright game in the collection I have. I’ll sprinkle some Overwatch in there to I suppose.
PS4- Great Ace Attorney Chronicles and Samurai Shodown.
Switch- Streets of Rage 4
Turbo Grafx 16 Mini- Castlevania Rondo of Blood
I'll be playing the real version of Pure Pool. We got our 8 ft red felt slate pool table into our game room last night and have been having an absolute blast with it, playing well into the night. Pure Pool is great, but I really missed the real thing.
Aside from that, I did start Persona 5 Strikers a couple days ago, so I'll be playing that over the next month or two. Not really sure what to say about it yet, since I'm only an hour and a half into it. I do like it so far, but it's taking a little bit to get rolling for me. Oh yeah, and my wife is playing TWEWY NEO and absolutely loving it.
Just finished a link to the past ! Those last few dungeons can be pretty tough so I am pleased with myself! Realised I got blaster master zero on my 3ds so mite give that a whirl xxx
Great Ace Attorney Chronicles for me. Already on case 5 of the first game. Depending on progress, I might also slip in some time with Monster Hunter Stories 2 as well.
I went back and finished Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition after about a year so that felt good to do lol. Only about 10 hours in on Zelda Skyward Sword so I have a ways to go on that still. Shin Megami Tensei 3 Nocturne was on sale for $35 so I picked up a copy and I'm really enjoying it so far, that will probably take up most of my gaming time. I unboxed and hooked up my Wii U to play soon, since it's been a while. I hope everyone has a great weekend!
@Shadeon_Koopa A fellow Darkest Dungeon fan! Remind yourself that overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 and tonight will have an online gaming night with a few friends playing Super Bomberman R Online, Tetris 99 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Bit of MHStories 2 and some NEO World ends with you this weekend 😊
Just finished Horizon Zero Dawn, so mostly Skyward Sword HD for me. The pad controls are really weird but I'm kind of getting used to them now. Currently in the second area on the surface. As ever with every Zelda besides BotW, I'm enjoying it but I'm not sure I'm loving it. I will probably make it to the end though.
Also been playing a bit of Mushihimesama.
@TYRANACLES great thanks, maybe I’ll give Super Castlevania IV a try if it’s a homage to the first game.
Finished my first Subnautica playthrough so finally I can settle into a new game!
I chose Super Robot Wars X over Super Robot Wars T as I wanted to see Nadia and the Nautilus in-game more than Captain Harlock and his Arcadia (it was a tough decision). 😅
On the side, I’ll continue trying to get past the battleship in Steredenn.
Either way, I won’t have that much time to play this weekend, having to throw a bday bbq for my dad and aunt today, and we’re blessed with good weather.
Have a fun weekend NL friends!
I'm still playing Etrain Odyssey III. My backlog is so big that I bounce between systems old and new.
The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. Love the original trilogy and love what I've played of this collection so far. Happy Capcom finally brought the games West.
Still grinding my GOTY Monster Hunter Rise - now with Amaterasu! Trying to collect all the scrolls & relic messages the best I can! It’s crazy how deep some areas can truly be in example Sandy Plains. Without my search for those relics I would’ve missed all the intricate minor details Capcom has inserted
@realityxaidan happy 18th, enjoy your birthday weekend
@Gs69 Pure Pool is really good. Just beware of the insane difficulty spike when going from "amateur" to "pro". It goes to being a lightly challenging fun pool game to just being obliterated by the comp. There will be many times where you don't even get to make a shot cause the comp just clears the table no problem.
Just Pokémon Unite, as the Olympics have me very distracted.
@JasmineDragon
@Shadeon_Koopa
Count me in - it’s been awhile but I played a ton of Darkest Dungeon on the Switch! I think I’d still be playing more often except I’m too lazy to swap in that pesky cartridge all the time. I never did get through the final dungeon...
DD has easily the best narration I’ve ever heard in a video game.
“The front line of this war is not in the dungeon, but rather, inside the mind...”
Great Ace Attorney on Switch, Fantasian on iPad.
My usual is bouncing back and forth between Rise and MHGU. However having almost 1500 hours into MHGU and just surpassing 400 hours into Rise I NEED to get back into tackling the backlog. I'm going to try to start with Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 The Black Order this weekend. That one has been on my list since it was announced. I'm a early 90's gamer so I'm really looking forward to a old school yet modern game play experience. It's supposed to be arriving today according to UPS tracking. Not sure how much I'll be able to play though I have some errands to do and I work tomorrow.
Back into Dragon Quest XI S!
Skyward Sword and Mario Golf
I'm playing fast and loose with your question.
Very busy weekend, so not a lot of time for gaming. What time I do manage to fit in will mostly go to Ys VIII. I'm currently in the middle of Chapter 3 and am about to tackle Gendarme. I had my doubts about the plot, but with recent events it's now definitely more intriguing.
I'm also still playing Professor Layton and the Spectre's Call; I think I'm nearing the home stretch on this one with just over 100 puzzles solved. It's more Layton goodness, but I won't deny that I think this is one of the crazier plots since Diabolical/Pandora's Box.
Have a great weekend! Stay safe, and happy gaming!
@Ganner yeah I’ve just started pro now and I 100% agree it went from leisurely to insane 😂 still enjoying it tho takes me back to Jimmy whites on the Amiga or pool paradise on the GameCube
Skyward sword, mario golf and blaster master zero 3
Very excited to finally be playing Great Ace Attorney!
Rocket League One of the greatest games ever created.
Skyward Sword (4hrs in) First time playing.
I started Talos Principle for the first time, after picking it up ages ago with a discount.
It’s bloomin’ brilliant!!!
I’ll grab Ace Attorney too but I’m hoping for a discount on the full bundle…
I'm finished Hades: Izanami's and Jūbei's acts in Arcade Mode in BLAZBLUE CENTRALFICTION Special Edition. Also, I'm completed CHAOS CODE -NEW SIGN OF CATASTROPHE- on Ending B, playing as Hikaru(game's main protagonist). I think, CHAOS CODE -NEW SIGN OF CATASTROPHE- is pretty underrated game. And, I keep upgrading Kona Furugōri(Frau Kōjiro) in Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Over Drive.
@JoeDiddley There’s also Axiom Verge, it’s ace!
Zombies Ate My Neighbors.
Uncharted: Golden Abyss (Vita) - Wasn't a fan of the river section, died a few times there...
Equalicious (Windows Phone) - I do like me some puzzle games.
Doodle God (Windows Phone) - At the end now.
This weekend will be full of The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles on Switch and my first playthrough of Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation on 3DS!
Hope you guys have a blast gaming!
@CooperFrank how are you liking Fantasian so far? I saw they’re almost done with the 2nd half of the game, I didn’t know it wasn’t finished. Ive been hoping it will come to Switch!
Ghostbusters Remastered with my son and the Forgotten City with the wife… and possibly Ace Attorney Chronicles too, but I’m trying to save that one for when I finish the other two games.
Finished up Skyward Sword earlier this week so now I’m revisiting other Zelda games like Hyrule Warriors. In a Zelda mood this weekend!
@somnambulance Ghostbusters Remastered is a dream game for any real Ghostbusters fan. Not perfect but the campaign is really fun (anything above Normal difficulty makes the game a nightmare in my opinion). I just wish the multiplayer was included with the re-release. I remember reading Saber Interactive was supposed to patch in the multiplayer later on but as of now I'm confident it ain't happening
Over 30 hours in skyward sword and still alot more to do, what a beautiful game
I only played with the motion controls and it's amazing
And like almost every day Mario kart online races because i am a mario kart addict
If out of nowhere i have more free time i'll play some ratchet and clank rift apart
Pretty deep in Skyward Sword HD and loving it a lot. We're visiting family right now but there's so many forest fires that the smoke is making it hard to do anything, so there's been a lot more Switch time than I was expecting
Hopefully, I’ll be finishing Chasm. The tough part is deciding what comes next. Considering Bastion, Ys VIII, or Hyper Light Drifter. Have a good weekend everyone!
@Teksetter Best narration ever, both the delivery and the over-the-top Lovecraftian vocabulary! It's like the Princess Bride of video games.
I kind of regret not buying it in digital form, because I've played around 100 hours of it and would probably have played twice as much if I didn't have to swap cartridges for it. I love physical, but DD is a game I should have gone digital with. I might double dip one of these days.
Skyward Sword HD and Batman Arkham Knight.
Working on finishing up my first Divine Beast in Breath of the Wild. This game had me hooked up until this point. But I’m starting to fade on it. I also Put about four hours into Skyward Sword. I might just stick with that.
@JasmineDragon
I’ve played about the same amount of DD and agree with you on all points!
Ive double-dipped physical/digital on a few rouguelikes (Hades, Enter the Gungeon, Crypt of the Necrodancer) and DD is one I really should add, as I’d love to dip in & out of it, too. I’ll keep a lookout for a sale.
Messing around with the new NSO games (they're surprisingly all pretty good). But mostly I'll be playing more Tony Hawk.
Mostly Ace Attorney Chronicles and Blaster Master Zero 3!
Idk maybe some Brawlhalla. My main is Rayman.
I will be playing some more Danganronpa V3. So far it has been a brilliant series, even tho none of the characters have any depth beside their main catchphrase/gimmick.
I might also go back to my WiiU and play some Wii games, mainly Project Zero 2 and Metroid Prime 3 (am I the only one who hates the motion controls in metroid prime?)
@Snatcher Okami is an amazing game. I hope you’re having fun with it. Get ready cause the final boss is a pretty crazy fight! 😃
@I_commented If I can even make it to the boss, like good lord this game is long.
@Teksetter I absolutely love Darkest Dungeon. Played it for 450+ hours, having beat the game twice already. And agreed, narration (and art style) is fantastic, and touchscreen controls work great too.
@JasmineDragon Awesome that you've mentioned that quote, that's still currently my GameFAQs signature since last year.
I'm trying to finish Final Fantasy IX. Got it on Switch in 2019 and didn't play it until a few days ago. It's....better than 8 but a bit boring
Blaster Master Zero 3
Skyward Sword HD
Microsoft Flight Simulator (Series X)
Probarbly some skyward sword and after reading the article earlier i quite fancy booting up Fire emblem.
Ys VIII and maybe some Paladins.
I'm finally getting into Mario+Rabbids: Kingdom Battle from my backlog-- After finishing Star Ocean: First Departure R, I needed a lighter-hearted game to change the pace, plus since the sequel is on the horizon I need to make haste. I'll be starting The Town of Light as well-- I usually need a slower pace game in the mix (I might even get In the Rays of Light since it's on sale). I'm thinking about kicking off Boot Hill Heroes just to see if I want to commit the time sooner or later.
I played the new offerings for the Super NES on the Switch Online service. People are making these out to be horrible games, but they are actually solid titles. Maybe not A level, but I would say B level.
The DKC Trilogy
Playing the Hard Campaign on Advance Wars 1. Great game!
@Shadeon_Koopa 👍 It's been my sig on the NLife forums for a couple of years now.
I've just heard about DD2, coming to Steam Early Access sometime soon. Really hope that will make it to the Switch, even though it's probably a ways out. But if I remember right, the first game made a lot more money on the Switch than on Steam, so I would think Switch would be a top priority for DD2.
@Ganner I’m loving the game for the story, but the gameplay is a little wonky. Not sure why I’ve skipped the game for so long, but my son has been getting into the series big time after seeing it at the drive in theater last week and I couldn’t resist getting it on sale. Glad I jumped on it!
@Tempestryke Great choice! I played through the trilogy a few weeks ago and platformers don’t get much more classic!
@somnambulance
hi-fives
This week I picked up 3 games and so this weekend it is:
Tales of the Abyss (3ds remake)
Puzzle and Dragons Z (3ds)
Okamiden!! (DS)
I'm enjoying myself quite a bit with each of these. Of course, being a Dad I only get a few minutes here and there, but they have been fun minutes!
I've been playing WarioWare Gold, and I've also decided to play through Super Mario 3D Land again.
Just finished World’s End club and and Skyward sword but this weekend I’m playing Littlewood and Cosy Grove for a calmer time. I’ve also been dipping in and out of trials of mana bc some of those boss fights are intense for me and I need a calming break throughout but still really enjoying I also recommend Littlewood and cosy grove to anyone who’s got animal crossing burn out
I managed to beat Katana Zero and The Touryst on Switch this weekend before bouncing to play Psychonauts on Series X.
Loved Katana Zero, and I recommend it as an indie.
A little bit of Into the Breach which I’ve enjoyed revisiting. Also got a free trial of Apple Arcade so a bit of iPad touchscreen gaming - Alto’s Odessey and some island town builder game whose name I forget. Oh and some Slay the Spire which I am still hopelessly addicted to.
I picked up the Borderlands Legendary Collection from Amazon on Switch about 2 Weeks back and been playing them on the go (beat Borderlands 1 and currently on 2) and that same Collection was on Sale Digitally on Xbox along with Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition (comes with ALL DLC) so I have just finished off Borderlands 1 and all its DLC on my Xbox One X this weekend, moving onto The Pre-Sequel next (going through the Series in Chronological Order on X1X whilst just playing on Switch during the Commute) and I have my Physical Copy's of the entire Series on the way for PS4 so I can play through them in Co-Op with my Friend at a later date (when they arrive, and he'll need to buy/download them on his PS4 as well)
Needless to say I'm a bit obsessed with the Series right now 👍 glad I have it a second chance cause I was never able to get into Borderlands 1 when I played it on both PS3/360 back in 2010 or whenever it launched 🤣
@Burning_Spear How good is that game...
@Snatcher Okami is gold. Solid gold.
@WiltonRoots Best game I've played on Switch. Great story, great characters, stunning environments and a beautiful, fully orchestrated soundtrack. But be prepared to sink hundreds of hours into it. I've heard that the recent PS4 release has everything the Switch edition does with better graphics, so consider that if you have a PS4. I believe Switch still has a 10-hour demo of the game. If you like the demo, get the game, because it gets sooooo much better after the demo.
@ItsATM
Oh well, I just found out about this thanks to your reply! I thought it was a complete experience... Anyway, I'm only three hours in, but I'm really appreaciating it! I'm not a fan of Final Fantasy (I hate Active Time Battle, and I really liked only Final Fantasy X), but Fantasian mixes a very classic jrpg experience with fresh mechanics that make random encounters interesting and not annoying. Futhermore, it's aesthetically great!
Finished Yakuza Like a Dragon (PS5) and Death Stranding (PS4), so now I'm moving on to Skyward Sword, Kentucky Route Zero, and God of War (PS4).
Finishing up some books first (Witcher: Sword of Destiny and Tolkien’s edition of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight) then jumping back on Golden Sun the Lost Age on Wii U VC. I have a pile of switch games ready to go in SMT 3, Skyward Sword, and Disgaea 6, along with Banners of Ruin and Mr X Nightmare in Streets of Rage 4.
I’m moving to a beautiful three day work week (3x12, plus a raise because apparently this shift structure is undesirable) soon so I’ll actually have time to play through everything that’s been waiting.
Ganbare Goemon 4, Recca, Parodius & the new Mario Golf
@Burning_Spear I meant as in I thoroughly enjoyed it! One of my favourite games on the Switch....kept me glued to it until the very end.
