Re: New Yo-Kai Watch 4 Characters, Explorable World And More Revealed

ShikabaneHime13

@Xavcob I know this article is old but I wanted to respond to you in how much I agree! I’m importing 5 copies on release (one for myself and one for each of my kids) and we’re hyped for it.

As to getting more anime... I really wish they’d bring Shadowside over to the US as I feel its darker tone would probably resonate with audiences more here than it did in Japan. I believe too many found the original anime here to be so very kiddy and too comedic with no real story goal and Shadowside is the total opposite.

I also factor Hasbro’s hand in the toys as a major factor in the series failure. Bandai made quality stuff for Japan and Hasbro cheaped out on us totally. There was no marketing, the show went on Disney XD which is a paid cable channel which already limits the audience unless you have streaming services... Hasbro never even gave us Fumi-chan’s watch (and I showed a rep the toy I had of it during the first game’s launch at Nintendo World)... Bandai needs the rights back for international distribution and amp up marketing

Re: Rumour: Looks Like We're Getting The Tamagotchi And Pokémon Crossover We've Always Dreamed Of

@FragRed

Actually, the Japanese Tamagotchis got soooo much better since the 90s. Full color screen, connectivity to others with the same kind, free DLC at special stations in toy stores.... Bandai has hopped back on the Tamagotchi train here in the US to bank on nostalgia but why they still won’t release the fully color models here is head scratching given the demand for the re-releases is huge. I collect each new pet that comes out in Japan every year now because they’re loads better and tons of fun. My kids love them too.

Re: Capcom Hosting Ace Attorney Panel At This Year's Tokyo Game Show

I know it’s a major long shot but an official localization of Great Ace Attorney 1 & 2 would be vastly appreciated. i have all the games, including the Japanese versions as well as the fan translation of Miles Edgeworth Investigations 2 on an offical DS cart (gift for my birthday this Summer from my husband when he came across it by pure chance) that works in my old DS Lite (no hacking/mod or anything needed but will only read on the original DS or DS Lite).. so to have more English games (and on physical media would be a bonus) would be vastly appreciated whether on 3DS or Switch

Re: Hori Taiko Drum Controller Won’t Be Released In The West, But Here's Where You Can Get One

That is a load of crap. Foremer warehouse employee from my early college days and I can tell you the job is not bad like a lot of articles/people have made it out to be over the years. Is the job easy? Nope, it’s fairly repetititve and somewhat competitive. Is the job for everyone? Not at all. Not everyone does well in the hustle/bustle environment of the warehouse, but I also recall plenty of people that enjoyed their jobs there that said they’d never do anything else. I choose to shop with Amazon because more often than not, they do tend to be the cheaper alternative depending on what I’m purchasing AND they are generally faster for receiving items. I never quite understood the hate for Amazon before and after I worked there. It pays well for a not so easy job. Quite a few occupations do that.

Re: Hori Taiko Drum Controller Won’t Be Released In The West

ShikabaneHime13

I just imported the game and controller from Amazon Japan (seriously, a much better and cheaper alternative to Play Asia) and will be double dipping when the game releases in the US on both the Switch and PS4 (I purchased the Asia region game/controller bundle at an anime convention earlier this year).

While I think it’s a missed opportunity to release the drum outside of Japan given kids especially do like little gimmicks like that (think Rock Band and Guitar Hero), I also understand since this Bandai essentially testing the series’ longevity outside of the home country again after all these years.

If the imported controller still works with the localized version of the game, then it shouldn’t be a big issue for those in the know that want it. But I will say, the drum is a pretty finicky piece of equipment and Hori hasn’t always had a good track record with them. So better to err on the side of caution for both the manufacturer and the consumer.

Re: Monster Hunter Stories x The Legend of Zelda Free DLC is Live This Week

ShikabaneHime13

I think it’s great. Many people know of Legend of Zelda, yes, but having stuff from the franchise incorporated in other games that are still not entirely mainstream does bring some attention to said franchise. I can’t wait to download this to the game. My kids and I are having a blast with MHS and I’ve practically put my Switch to the side for now even though I just got Xenoverse 2 on Friday (though with the release of FE Warriors in Japan this week, I’ll likely pick up my Switch again very soon)

Re: Video: Nintendo Switch Controllers All Have a Power Button Hiding in Plain Sight

ShikabaneHime13

@SetupDisk

Seriously! It's ridiculous that anyone would get their knickers in a twist because others don't do things the same way they do. I turn off my Switch as well when it will be unused for an extended period (usually the work week as I don't have long enough breaks at work for satisfactory Switch play though I do use my 3DS at lunch). My Switch is powered off during the week unless I get home early enough in the evening to assist with homework, get kids to bed after dinner and baths and still have decent time for a little gaming. Otherwise, my weekends are when the system is used nonstop.

Honestly... Didn't think it was a crime to power it off. But most rechargeable batteries can warp over time from overcharging. It's one of the reasons even my phone and tablet isn't charged every night.

Re: Playtonic Removes JonTron's Voice from Yooka-Laylee

He mentioned white purity. That speaks volumes in and of itself. Used to love him dearly but once that came out of his mouth... Nope. So what exactly is he saying about those of his fans (such as myself) whom are bi-ethnic/bi-racial? I am bi-racial and in an inter-racial marriage. I have no sympathy for him. He essentially spits in the face for what my parents stood and fought for. My parents were harrassed for their relationship which was considered illegal at one point in time.

Re: Guide: Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories You Should Buy

I have the imuto 20000 mAh power bank. Works well but I still plan to invest in the rav simce it has usb-c to usb-c connection which I hear is better. But the imuto powers the system with no trouble. Sat in a hospital ER from 11:45am to 8:30pm visiting a relative that collapsed at work yesterday. Powerbank kept me playing BotW all day with no interuptions

Re: Third-Party Nintendo Switch Vinyl Skin Producer Warns of Damage to System

ShikabaneHime13

@Aslanmagic
Yeah, it's no big deal for me. I mean, unless you're constantly changing skins (which is fine if you want to vary the look every so often), then I don't see this being an issue.

However!

If the adhesive were to degrade the system/controllers' coating over time and you were to trade it in down the road and remove the skin only to have this still happen, then it would be problematic I think
