Back when the Japanese and European release dates of Devil's Third were confirmed in early June, Nintendo's Japanese YouTube channel released a 10 minute video showcase of the game. Presented by game director Tomonobu Itagaki, it gave us a look at the game even if we couldn't all understand the language.
Nintendo UK has now released a translated version of the video, in which Itagaki-san talks about the solo campaign, online multiplayer and the clan system of that component. With plenty of curiosity - and varying views - on this Wii U title, it's a chance to see a little more and get a good grasp of Tagaki-san's presentation from earlier in the Summer.
Check it out below and let us know what you think.

Hmmm. Hopefully this article's comments section stays calm and controlled, because this game tends to cause heated arguments.
@Aromaiden BE QUIET AND LET US ARGUE!!!
Tomonobu Itagaki looks like a rockstar in this video, he's such a cool dude. I think their is fun to be had in Devil's Third. Online will be interesting.
@Aromaiden The arrogance of men is thinking nature is in our control and not the other way around. Let them fight.
@Aromaiden Hey hey hey don't tell us what to do! If we wanna argue, then let us! Let us live!
The online multiplayer sounds interesting on paper, but we'll see how it actually plays out.
@IAmDeclanJay I too think the online looks like great fun. I'm probably gonna buy at launch if I can find a decent price.
LMFAO !!!
is there a version of that video without the english subtitles? looks like the intro to a horriblly stylish ninja-movie
that guy is hilarious! respect to being "unique"^^
@Aromaiden We shall see. We shaaaaaall see.
I think the game looks decent. I'll just stop there because... just because.
That online (assuming it works properly)will eat so many hours of my life come September... so anyway, dibs on Clan Nintendo Life.
@6ch6ris6 The link to the original video is in the article (the link that mentions Japanese and European release dates), but why would you want to see it without subtitles? (unless you speak Japanese)
The online modes sound pretty interesting... I think this is still a launch buy for me
i do like th scope of the online, though i do worry about the price, if its cheap like splatoon was in the eu, ill grab it but if its full price it will wait
Rabble Rabble Rabble grrr grrr grrr........
The clan thing actually seems quite interesting but I dont see myself purchasing this game. I just dont get enough time by myself to play games like this and XCX is gonna take all of the time I have when it arrives
@Hamguar GOJIRA!!! =D
Glad they've finally made a translation for this. Took long enough.
Addendum: Oh. My. God.
Now that I can finally understand EVERYTHING Itagaki-san said in the video, I'm just...giddy. There's no other word for it. I really, really, REALLY can't wait for DT to come Stateside.
Looks great, I wish the USA was getting this soon.
Can someone provide the full transcript in paragraph form so that I read it easily?
I am still psyched for this game. I enjoyed AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2, so I'm sure I will be okay learning to play around this games idiosyncrasies. Oh, and the Multiplayer still looks like loads of fun. Please, NOA, just release this for $39.99 and it'll be a decent seller.
The way Itagaki's sitting there in the dark between those Valhalla-flags, he looks like a terrorist truly.
But what's really made my day:
"In the world of Devil's Third, all man-made satellites in orbit are destroyed. During that event, the destruction of one nuclear satellite triggers an EMP - that is, an electromagnetic pulse - that destroys all computers and electronic weaponry in the world. What do you think would happen in such a situation? It would no longer be possible to perform long range attacks and stay out of reach of the enemy, meaning that warfare would once again be reduced to close combat between soldiers, a return to the kind of combat seen in the 1940s."
That would not have been half so funny had he not introduced this very passage with the words:
"Even if it's a game, I always think a certain amount of realism, or believability, is necessary."

Oh, and it's also fun imagining if Iwata had explained this story...
I just want to play through this all melee.
I ANDREW PINEDA OF THE KINGDOM OF CALIFORNIA TO HEREBY DECLARE THIS GAME TO BE THE SLEEPER HIT OF THE YEAR IT WILL BE THE FUNNEST GAME YOU HAVE EVER PLAYED MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
