That’s actually a reasonable price and I would hope that encourages more people to buy it. However, it does feel a bit like destruction all stars on the ps5, which was great for a very brief window before no one played it, and that was free with the ps plus subscription. Makes me wonder if Nintendo will add another Nso tier eventually have these for free along with welcome tour, but one can dream!

Was playing Mario sunshine from the Mario 3d collection yesterday and it was a bit of a shock to go back to 30 or 50 fps rather than smooth 60 like everything else on the switch 2. Hopefully when they add sunshine to switch 2 game cube version it’s 60fps minimum!

Ironically I just deleted this yesterday because I’m starting to run out of space. I’ve now set to redownload and I’m looking forward to playing! Weird I think I’ve played my switch 2 games wise more than my total time with my steam deck. It’s a brilliant machine!

@Theghostofkeithmoon they are all cracking films. The kid with the golden arm, house of traps and all the main ones like five elements ninja are all great watches. I’m waiting if the shawbrothers blue ray volume 3 collection to come down!

Wow I love the Japanese one, not seen that before and it’s bloomin lovely! Really hoping for Dreamcast games to be released on the switch 2, it will become my favourite console of all time mk2 after the Dreamcast!

I just use a switch case with a few carts within. When I travel I use my switch case which has room for said case. Not need for another bit of plastic!

LRG: a fall from such a high position into the turmoil that it is now. Funny how it’s Nintendos issue here and not their code. Hopefully everyone has now steered clear of LRG and started using other much more quality providers.

That’s a nice and odd feature to hide! Very Nintendo there. I’m more interested in how this person got the switch 2 to be instantly on a tv while in portable mode, any idea what are they using there?

I’ve been upset by free roam not being local multiplayer! I really hope they add this in as an add on because me and my son really wanted to roam around together. I hope they add this quick as he will loose interest quick and then that ship will have sailed. Sad Nintendo!

My steam deck defo had a smell which was enjoyable probably for the wrong reasons like some kind of toxic nature. The switch 2 is far more subtle smell but there is something there.

I think I’m in love with the form factor though, it’s much lighter than the deck but the screen is massive without a seemingly massive perimeter edge and the way the joy cons click in and off is really something brilliant.

Interesting, I really don’t remember guile being cut off the European one! Japan because of that fact then!

@Stwert ah fair enough. It was probably a trial and they gave up. But I would guess the switch is capable of doing the rewind feature, but maybe not. Still, Nintendo are known for stockpiling like this, and that’s my suspicion here particularly as the crt mode is also only on switch 2 as another poster pointed out.

@RupeeClock reasonable, except I had this feature on my bitboy which had a lot less ram and still managed this. Therefore, this is Nintendo feature stockpiling to play the long subscription game for all its NSO. It was even shown that GameCube an emulator was being tested for the switch 1, which we know had enough hardware as the shield had the same hardware and that’s capable as well. Also this will eventually be an excuse to increase the price of NSO, which I’m still awaiting

For once I appear to agree with the masses, Japan it is (although I usually end up with the Japanese one). Strange how in Europe we had those massive boarder’s, didn’t seem a problem at the time but now when you compare to the switch 2 it looks odd!

@Jedrus_Lilac well there are lots of variations of racing come karting type games. One of my favs that’s never really come out much on home systems was gti club, and it played quite like a karting game. There are loads of arcade karting games to check out, also checkout cruisin series

@Jedrus_Lilac it’s certainly one of the longest running karting games. As for racing, it’s close to Colin McRae rally, which is only 3 years younger. FZero beats Mario kart by a couple of years, along with super off road from the nes days. You could also count outrun as well

This one I’m happy to wait for a price decrease but I’m happy for it to be full cart, and for that I’ll buy in the hope it means more developers choose this method

@deadmaker a case of double drift?

I’m optimistic they will last longer than my old joy cons did. Somehow I’ve escaped drift on every other consoles pad except my switch, which has it really bad on one set and the other has radio issues. Hopefully both of these problems are now fixed

Managed to pre order this for £34 due to a pricing mistake on Amazon, hopefully that will be honoured. This makes it cheaper than buying the game and season passes, or even competitive with my currently ultimate edition purchase which has season 1 and to buy season 2 is £27. Worst case, I can at least sell the game as it’s a key cart and not a code in box or even a Blu-ray + dl code for the season pass content (which is what I got for MK10 for instance on my PS5), so it’s the best of both worlds IMO

I’m going to be watching the second hand market for these types of games. Either they will be dirt cheap as no one sees value in these or they will be really expensive because no one bought them brand new and therefore quite rare, less supply and same demand leads to higher prices.

Like I said on other places, I’ve got no issue with key carts as they allow them to be resold. Digital downloads and key codes in box are worse as they are valueless once redeemed on my account. If I die, those accounts also go with me (technically) so at least key carts can be reused until Nintendo shuts down its servers.

No specific time however they did delay the release of the switch 2 by a good while, ie. From autum/summer last year to Q2 this year. Personally, they delayed the release so there were release games for it but also so they could siphon off as much profit out of the original switch. But they could then choose the most optimum moment in 2025 where they believe it will make the most profit. June is in the new financial year and ahead of fall and Xmas where they will make the most profit

Any idea when these will become freely available without a welcome email? I’m chomping at the bit to buy one but as I did a family share on NSO I don’t have an email.

Not sure I’ll have the time for this one. Saw videos of the original and it really did look dated and kinda a game of it’s time rather than a now thing. I’m really only gunning for ghost and assassins creed shadows is meer child’s play before ghost comes out. Tell me if I’m wrong people? Should I not focus on Witcher 3 and cyberpunk rather than this game?

Just seems unlikely they will get this person one way or another, but I guess if they manage to get stuff like this from discord then it sets a precedent for things like emulation to come next. So maybe it’s a legal tactic to thin end of the wedge another way to get the rest of the emulation population?

Interesting they are able to trace people like this, as using a few vpns which don’t have logs and spoofing Mac and ips would sort any trace whatsoever. Then create false accounts using different emails etc. you would have to be a real ego to give them even a sniff of the real you, but I guess that might be how it works in hacking circles and trading of hacks etc

I’ll be picking up this if all goes well. I’ve had it on ps5 and just never really played it so will be good to play it properly, even on handheld, to enjoy the game properly.

I cannot buy the GameCube controller yet because I have not been invited via email. Main reason for that I assume is because I’m using a shared NSO family account to save lots of cash on the subscription. Hopefully they will soft drop complete availability and I’ll get a chance to buy one. I’ve been checking every day! I don’t think I can use someone else’s email and get it delivered to my address - can I?

@The-Chosen-one KI would be awesome. That and Forza, although I’ve just preordered that for ps5 so I’ll probably be giving another version a miss. Unless they allow for streaming Xbox gamepass on switch 2, that would rock and allow me to carry on progress

I would love Dreamcast games for switch 2 now we have GameCube, or even Saturn! I guess I always have my steam deck for that but I would love a better way than that

@S1ayeR74 a lot pricey imo. Good for trading in if you can’t be bothered with eBay, but buying you may as well go for eBay.

Funny I was thinking about game the other day. They basically bought game station and between the two of them the obliterated must second hand stores. Now they are going, possibly due to digital but mostly because of online stores. I hope a new shop appears at some point because I would love to show my son around a gaming shop and try a few demos etc. looks like the best you can do nowerdays is go to your local cash converters and hope they misprice switch games there - I picked up Mario and sonic at the Olympics for £12 the other week!

Forza horizon 5 won’t fit on even the biggest cart and so that would always be downloaded or some kind of hybrid, if that releases on the switch 2. Some games are even bigger! It would be great to have Forza on a cart though, saves so much effort with disk space that I have currently with Xbox. And the switch only has 256gb internal, which will fill up quickly.

I do wonder if we will get some games that will be both a cart in a box and a cart key in a box, offering the cart one at a more expensive price? It feels like this system suppliers will either choose one or the other (cart with full game vs cart with key) which means everyone will choose the key option because it’s cheaper to supply. The days of cartridges may finally be coming to an end!

Preordered mine from Smythstoys uk. Even if I don’t buy many overly expensive switch 2 games, the game upgrades for existing + controller upgrades make it worth that alone, along with temp game cards to play games with my son on the switch 1. If I suddenly have a change of heart I can cancel my order. Sorted, win win

I’m voting for £299/349 as £399 you can get a base ps5 for that much. Coupled with the extra cost of the games being £70 rather than £45 it will soon mount up. I wonder if they will do a Mario kart 9 bundle either £349 or £399 for the bundle.

Man I hope they don’t start to push digital over physical. But to me this should not make a difference as I always buy first party games for £35 or there abouts. Switch 2 default game prices being £70 though will mean I buy less games again (exactly half as much). Not sure that makes more profit though

Personally I would just have Hall effect controllers. This patent feals like a fix rather than dealing with a root cause. That being said, system wide rollback would be nice for all games, so I guess I’m in two minds about this one!

So there is an extra usb slot on top, which has been rumoured to be something like a camera slot. C could be for camera. But that would be annoying as I think I’ve only used my selfie cam once, but if it was for some sort of augmented reality Nintendo type thing then I’m interested!

If the switch 2 rumours are true the only difference from the switch original controllers are they are slightly bigger, magnetic snap mechanism and one extra button. We still don’t know if they will be Hall effect or not, but we for sure know they won’t be customisable like these controllers. Instead, Nintendo would swap the whole joy con for a different configuration if they were going that route.
I like the idea of not having to unscrew my device to replacing failing buttons and sticks on my steam deck, so this appeals, especially if ayaneo adopts streamos. But replacing with different configurations is unlikely

Very small chance of a dec direct, it’s going to be switch 2 related, but it really doesn’t make sense if they want to ensure Xmas sales of the switch 1. So for me it’s jan or feb announcement.

I guess the Gameboy era was one of the last "buy it based on the cover art" generation? E.g. the spectrum era they didn't usually show you much of the game on the box and you went purely by the cover art. Which led to "oh this game doesn't play very well" or some random surprises. This game looks like that, be interesting to play as part of the new collection. In any case, I don't miss that era if gaming as a lot of my hard earned paper round went on some right howlers!

Exactly agree with this report - for instance, the lack of switch 2 news. Why announce that when you can announce a museum? Theme parks rather than mid console releases? Sure! But honestly it does seem Nintendo will outlast at least Microsoft, sega, pioneer, Panasonic, commodore, Atari just to name a few
