Uh, nah. No thanks, not for me. Nice enough idea but I would much prefer something based on the original Game Boy - or ideally, a more traditional watch that takes some nice design cues from the original design (certain lines, colours, fonts etc) rather than this. Reminds me of a horrible watch I had as a kid that had a Game & Watch style Sonic game on it. It was hideous but I loved it because I was like 7 years old.
@Antraxx777 Not really. Beat em ups should have good combat. The combat in this looks more like a bad action RPG, where you just fire off your abilities and hope the enemies get caught up in it. Honestly gameplay-wise this looks some distance behind the Lego games and that's a bit worrying.
I really want to like this, but...it just looks a bit too basic. Just wander around small enclosed spaces button bashing various flash ability with no real heft or nuance? I dunno. Maybe it'll be more fun than it looks but so far I'm really not feeling it.
The Game Gear was my first ever console so this really does bring back a lot of memories. Would love to splash out on an upgraded model sometime so this was really interesting to read.
Y'know, Jim Carrey I can get on board with. I actually he think he looks good. But that CGI Sonic is a horror from my worst nightmares. What is up with those weird lips of his!?
Absolutely despise that d-pad placement. Good grief. Would it have really hurt that much to just put it nearer the analogue stick like the Switch pro controller? If you don't need it then great but personally I quite like using a d-pad over the analogue on occasion if I can.
@infernogott I know, but I don't want to go through the hassle of signing up for a second account, or start getting Japanese news stories in my feed. I'll wait for the local release.
Can't wait to get the English release when it lands, been waiting for this for a while now and loved it back in the day. Really hope we get Virtua Fighter with the same treatment at some point!
Very excited to play this at last, seems like a brilliant port and SO glad it's full screen rather than all boxed in. Think I'll probably wait for the western release though and finish up a couple other games in the meantime.
The Joker DLC looks SO good. Love the nods to P3 and P4 too! Love that they've incorporated so much of the style from Persona 5 into his smash and victory screens - surely a strong sign that we're getting a port before too long? Wonder if we'll see an announcement next week from Atlus...
It's hard to imagine that this will be any good, especially when they claim to want to offer the ultimate retro machine and then limit it to 8- and 16-bit consoles, which are the most overdone/uniquitous and easily-emulated types of game out there. Just doesn't sound that interesting, but who knows, might be wrong.
Can't believe what a good port this. Absolutely adored Hellblade on PS4 and this looks astonishingly close. It's not the deepest or most varied gameplay-wise but if you like a good story, atmosphere and phenomenal voice acting then I really would recommend it. Switch the lights off, turn up the speakers or get a good set of headphones and just lose yourself in the dark nordic atmosphere.
@playstation_king Breath of the Wild, Odyssey, Diablo 3, Skyrim, DOOM, Wolfenstein and Dark Souls don't count as blockbuster franchises? Like them or not they're big hits, which is exactly what the title suggests.
This would be amazing if it wasn't going to be absolutely terrible. Low res screen, low frame rates and low quality VR goggles you have to hold up to your face? Doesn't sound great, unless the rumoured "Switch Pro" can deliver better frame rates and resolutions.
Looks interesting but also like it has ripped assets directly from Rocket League! Animation and physics also seem a bit choppy in the gameplay there so hopefully we get a better look at more polished gameplay later.
@FTL I played Crash 3 and CTR back in the day and really enjoyed them both, but for me there's only a couple of good characters and the rest are a bit throwaway. Always bugged me how Crash and some of the other creatures are so developed and kinda humanoid, yet some of the other characters are literally just a polar bear and a tiger. So yeah I admit I'm not a diehard Crash fan, but also stand by the opinion that the character roster is weak. Apart from Crash, his sister and the main villain, anyways.
Such a good game, absolutely loved it on PS4. I won't be double dipping but excited for people that haven't played it to try it out and very curious to see how it runs on Switch!
Persona 5 would be amazing on Switch and if it's the new "The Royal" version then I'll definitely be playing through it again. Excited by Metroid Prime Trilogy too as I never played the first two games. Really hope that waggle controls are enabled through the Joy Cons, loved the controls in MP3.
Still looks entirely unremarkable, unfortunately. The roster of racers looks almost as bad as Crash Team Racing and the tracks don't look particularly interesting. Seems like wasted potential, sadly.
Really loving the effort put into all the Sega Ages releases. They're superb and I'll definitely be picking this one up as well. Can't wait for Virtua Racing though!
This is amazing news! Absolutely love Hyper Light Drifter and I will watch the heck out of this. I'd love it to have no dialogue to be honest, would match the tone of the game really nicely. Looking forward to hearing more!
Still one of my favourite games of all time and I'm very tempted to get it again. Thge only thing stopping me is knowing I can play with upscaled backgrounds on the PC version.
Nice to see it doing well, but as much as I'm a Sega fan at heart, I really don't get on that well with Toejam and Earl. From all accounts it seems like they missed a bit of an opportunity with the sequel. The PS4 and XBO are far older than the Switch too with much more varied software libraries, so it only makes sense that indies are doing so well on Switch. It's great to see, but there is a little too much fanboying with this kind of news at times.
@patbacknitro18 Yes...armour does make women's chests appear smaller, because funnily enough they're not designed for cleavage. Look at any female police officer wearing a padded/armoured vest.
It's a lovely design - but vastly different to anything Nintendo would ever do. If this was one of those unofficial upgraded Game Boys you see floating around I'd buy one in a heartbeat though.
Love the new world design, looks really nice. Starter Pokemon look cool, all good as far as I'm concerned! And crucially much more interesting than Let's Go, gameplay wise. Pretty sure I'll be picking it up, which will be my first Pokemon game since, er...Red and Blue.
Weird, doesn't seem the kind of game that needs a physical release but everyone seems happy to fair enough, hope they get some good sales from it. I haven't picked it up yet but will almost certainly get the digital version.
Nice idea, but personally I'd rather see a Dreamcast controller modded up for modern consoles - throw a second analogue stick on there, L1/R1 shoulder buttons and wireless connectivity, slim it down and replace the VMU with a programmable display and I'll buy a whole set of 'em for my Switch/PS4/PC. Loved this controller back in the day though and nice to see it get some love.

Re: Takashi Iizuka Believes The Blue Blur Has "Turned A Corner" Following The Release Of Sonic Mania
Sonic Mania was great, everything else Sonic related continues to be naff. I hope to be proven wrong though.
Re: Pokémon Detective Pikachu Shocks The Competition In Its Opening Weekend
Probably not going to make it out to the cinema to see it unfortunately, but really looking forward to catching this when it's out on disc.

Re: Team Sonic Racing Is The Same Experience Across All Platforms
@ramu-chan Couldn't agree more. This looks terrible and has thrown away everything great about the previous games in the series.
Re: Team Sonic Racing Is The Same Experience Across All Platforms
Shame. I would have loved it if they accidentally ported Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed instead.

Re: Saints Row: The Third Gets New Switch Trailer And Fancy Physical Deluxe Pack
Shame it's not SR4 to be honest. Which I already have on PS4 anyway.

Re: Talking Point: Could Nintendo Ditch Physical Media With A 'Switch Lite?'
As long as they also have the gamecard-supporting version then sure, why not?
Re: Video: Check Out Cassie Cage In Her Official Mortal Kombat 11 Reveal Trailer
@patbacknitro18 Or maybe for once a bit of armour has been designed for a female chararcter that's actually remotely realistic?

Re: UK Charts: New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe And Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Fight To Stay In The Top Ten
@Scottwood101 That seems the best bet, but I'd be kinda surprised if SMM2 managed to hit #1, it seems a little more niche than Odyssey, for example.
