Definitely one of the best Directs since the Switch launched. Really good start to the year and has me excited to be a Switch owner again.

Love the look of this, seems way more interesting both in terms of visuals, story and gameplay than their previous two games - which were good! Very excited, one of the best announcements in a very strong Direct.

Molyneaux still talking himself into a hole, I see. I absolutely love Fable and Black & White though so I've usually got time to listen to what he's up to.

Gameplay wise I'm sure CTR is going to be as brilliant as the original, but I gotta say what I've seen of the track design so far doesn't really stand up to the standard of the better modern kart games. Hopefully it won't mater in the end but the biggest part of Mario Kart for me is always seeing new track designs, so it could potentially be a bit of a sticking point.

Really, really hope it's F-Zero or a Metroid Prime Trilogy re-release. Or the Star Fox racing game that Retro were apparently working on - love the sound of that.

@OorWullie There's a caveat to that though, that this comment was made several years ago. It may well be factor but there'll be more to it, IMO.

@GameOtaku See above - the game has not been censored. Otherwise the publisher wouldn't be the one behind the decision, it would have been the classification board or Nintendo themselves.

@Bevinator Because financial gain will always almost always trump PR concerns. The franchise has been around for ages and I've never seen any particular controversy other than "oh look, it's that pervy volleyball game again". If the game would sell in good enough numbers then the publisher would sell it.

@RadioShadow It's not that hard to believe - there are a LOT of games out there these days and most don't sell in the numbers you think they will, especially a niche title like this. If it didn't have the DoA license then it would be even more obscure.

And yeah, the German classification board has very different values, but Germany also has different social, political and historical issues than we do. Their problems with extreme right-wing viewpoints is very different, for one thing.

@Bevinator Not really, it's nothing like censorship. It's a financially-motivated business decision dictated by market forces, and nothing to do with prohibiting a certain style of content.

@nessisonett Sadly not just NL, it's worryingly prevalent in gaming culture, particularly online.

@RadioShadow It's not been banned or censored, the publisher has chosen not to release it. Which presumably means that there was not enough perceived interest from retailers/distributors/consumers.

Looks good, will be tempted to get it on sale at some point!

@jedisquidward This. Carefully chosen merch and influences is great but when it's forced like this, it's a bit tacky.

Wargroove looks promising and I guess Odallus looks OK, but this is a pretty weak lineup all things considered.

Imagine if one day we could enjoy gaming without the unrelenting drone of fanboys. What a day that would be.

If they wanted "artistic beauty" for the box then they would have used the Amano artwork.

Other than that, I couldn't care less if one of the games is a download as personally I don't buy games to re-sell them.

Some really nice ones here, but there's a few of the kids and women's designs I wish were available in men's!

I like the art direction but the 'gameplay' video didn't do enough to convince me to back it, would need to see quite a bit more of it. Also kinda wish it was a little more serious in tone than the video implies.

Went to the Kirby Cafe once and it really is as good as it looks. Food and drinks were both excellent. Brilliant experience and well worth going if you're in Tokyo while it's around! Really wish I could go again.

@Snakesglowcaps NL is a major website owned by Gamer Network, not some one-man-band trying to make it big. Major publishers like this make a good deal of effort to make sure their writers aren't influenced by advertising sales.

As for Observer, been wanting to get it on PS4 for ages as I really enjoyed Layers of Fear, but will probably wait for the Switch review to see how performance holds up and then decide which one to get.

I usually love these indie highlights but apart from Wargroove and possibly Inmost, this was very disappointing. Really dull.

Brilliant. Might actually be more hyped for this than the next proper Pokemon game.

Much nicer than the usual rubbish from the likes of Insert Coin.

I really haven't kept up to date with this (I was disappointed about it not being NMH3) but have to admit that from the reviews so far it sounds excellent and I think I'm going to have to pick it up. Would love to get ports of the originals and of course a proper sequel one day!

This really doesn't seem to bear much comparison with Dark Souls. The concept sounds interesting and the visual style is nice but the combat looks awful in the trailer, so we'll see I guess.

I say it on every post to do with Team Sonic Racing, but I'll say it again. It continues to look terrible.

@Mars Absolutely think it will, just think this year would be too soon.

"Fading competition"? PS4 certainly doesn't look like fading anytime soon. If anything it's too soon for a PS5 announcement, there's a ridiculous amount of promising games looming on the horizon, so this is a little premature methinks, as is the hardware refresh.

An eShop redesign should be absolutely essential though, and I'd like to see a few more 3rd party system sellers that aren't just ports.

This...wasn't that great, sorry. Pretty janky in parts, and just look at the header image of the article - where the detail on his tunic just disappears and he's got his hand the wrong way up to fire the arrow. I'd dearly love a Zelda animated series and these folks have definitely got some talent but it's not quite 'there' yet.

I'd love to play more of Super Mario Run, but the price to unlock the full version is just too high, IMO. If it was under £5 I'd be very tempted.

Not bothered about these two, but still got Phantasy Star and Out Run to enjoy for the time being.

Sold. Gimme gimme gimme. Then give me Out Run Online Arcade.

They have completely ruined what was a brilliant music track from Transformed. This game looks worse every time we see it.

It's one of those games that I wouldn't mind playing (never bought the original), but still not 100% sold. Maybe if it goes on offer one day.

Looks adorable, but shallow and not especially challenging - a bit like the recent Kirby game. So as much as I like parts of it, I probably won't pick it up. Really hope Metroid isn't too far off, because I'm a bit worried by how few of Nintendo's first party games I'm picking up at the moment.

Tried to get into it a few times on PS3 and 360 and it just never clicked. It's looking even more dated now so hard pass from me I'm afraid.

Love seeing different interpretations of characters. Very cool. It'll be interesting to see if his take on Sonic turns out to be close to the movie version!

No thanks. I'd rather they had an early-bird or Switch-online exclusive discount (like with PS Plus), personally.

The controllers are lovely, but considering you could probably get a NES Classic for the same money, it's ludicrous. Like @scully1888 said, half the price and I'd snap these up in a heartbeat.
