What I want is Saturn and Arcade releases. Give us those and I will buy them on any platform you deem fit, Sega. Virtual On, Burning Rangers, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Scud Race, Guardian Heroes, Daytona 2, these are the games I really want to play all over again.
It's a great game, remember buying it on Xbox 360 back int he day and absolutely loved it. But I really wish this was a sequel and not a remaster, as I don't think I'll go back and replay it with so many other games to play.
Seems a bit pricey and gimmicky. I'm sure some people will find a use for it but I can't think of a time when I'd use this over just putting my existing case in my backpack.
@IronMan30 Just bear in mind it can be a little bit of a slow burner at first, not everyone clicks with it straight away. I rented it on 360 first time around and was getting frustrated for ages before it suddenly clicked and I got addicted.
Downloaded and ready to go, will be nice to check out what the port is like before deciding whether to get the full game. As long as performance is reliable though, I think I'll be happy.
I bought a year in advance - at £1.50 a month it's really not something to lose sleep over and I'm still enjoying Rocket League online enough to justify it. The NES games work nicely (though more would be good) and I've got the Dark Souls beta ready to go. Good times.
I'd much rather have a proper Virtual Console, but as someone that held off buying any of the classic mini consoles in case they got released on Switch, I'm happy to see them included with the online service. Hopefully it'll be expanded beyond the NES one day, but for now I'm happy enough with it.
Would be so much better if they were plain, without those indented analog stick/button/controller things on the outside of the cases. Functionally they look pretty good but that ruins them.
Lots of good stuff in there for me - will gladly play through FF7, 9, 10 and 12 again, and the Capcom fighting game collection looks brilliant. Really happy with the online service NES games too. Plus Katamari, New Super Mario Bros U (never played it so a very welcome port), Waframe...lots of good stuff.
Gone Home is great, but personally think this review succumbs to hyperbole a little bit. It's very good, but it's not genre-defining even among walking simulators (Edith Finch, for example), so calling it a 'peerless masterclass' is a little bit much, IMO. Still thoroughly recommend it though if you like these kinds of games!
I went to the last Kirby Cafe they did (back in 2016 I think?) and it was awesome. An absolute must if you're in the country - make sure you go early though to book your space, as it can get very busy! Also make sure you order some of the hot drinks - if I remember right you can keep the mugs? Varies depending on the event, but they're great quality if you can get one.
I couldn't give a monkeys about the door animation, but I'd definitely say that the game is lacking a certain something. Mechanically it feels right but the levels aren't as interesting visually or interactively as those found in the original games, especially the X series. It makes it feel like more of a proof of concept than an actual game I should be excited about.
Not much of a surprise to see Spider-Man in first place (well deserved, too) - but good to see Mario Kart holding strong. Pleased to see Dragon Quest get a decent response too!
@Likethepear What a load of utter nonsense. For one thing, Japan is a small enough country that you can travel the length of it in a day. They've also just been hit by a huge typhoon, which isn't even the first one this year. The impact these events have on infrastructure and other key systems shouldn't be underestimated, not to mention the fact that loved ones may be involved in such an incident. This is not a minor event. Get a grip. The minor inconvenience you experience as a video games fan is trivial at best.
@electrolite77 I'm a grown-up gamer and I certainly can't play both! I can barely play one game at a time at the moment but picking up Spider-Man for PS4 and Hollow Knight on my Switch so there is bound to be at least a little truth in this.
Argh, another platformer I need to buy. Only just got around to starting Owlboy and have got Hollow Knight waiting too, so unfortunately this will have to wait a little while!
Pass. Got MH:W on PS4 recently and it just seems too big a step to go back from. Great that we've got the option but I think I've only got room for one current MH title in my life.
Really glad it's coming out at last, but with Spider-Man out a little beforehand I'm not sure I'll have time for it straight away. I'm sure I'll pick it up eventually though. Hopefully we'll get to check it out in a beta/demo too.
While I'm interested in the new Smash Bros, I'm not sure I need to see another Direct about it. Will probably watch anyway but would have much rather had a regular Direct.
@chiptoon The guys behind it are addressing this in the comments of the KS page already, for example:
"the models will be accompanied by specially written history texts from Keith Stuart, screens, diagrams, stats etc. Also, there will be a lead in essay from Keith, setting the scene on the era too. To be honest, if we keep funding like this, we might extend things too. I'm looking into making this as rich and definitive as possible. I should have more detailed news in the next 48 hours..."
These guys know they have to pack stuff in, so I'm pretty sure it'll have plenty to get in to. It'll be interesting to see what the stretch goals are.
As much as this is obviously a bogus placeholder, I'm really starting to get fed up with the lack of communication about this game. Really loved the idea of Dark Souls on the go, but I'm tempted to just go and buy it on PS4 now. If I didn't have a pre-order for the Solaire Amiibo I probably would have done already.
@Bunkerneath Read Only Memory have a great history with these projects. I've backed a couple of their projects now and never been disappointed with the results. The reason they don't show them all is because they haven't got the finished product yet - that's what Kickstarter is for.
While I agree it is daft, I can see why they were worried about it. Ultimately it's just one episode, hopefully everyone can just go "oh well" and move on without making a meal of it.
Yeah, there were a lot of things in the demo I didn't like, and everything I've heard afterwards has just cemented the decision, unfortunately. Forced splitscreen in offline multiplayer is incredibly annoying, too. It's just not worth the full price as it is, seems like they focused too much on gimmicks and not enough on the core experience.
@Mr_Pepperami Yep. Really struggling to understand why they'd do that when they've been saying for a while they want to push their legacy brands. There was still plenty of Sonic stuff and characters in the other games.
@Orin41 To be fair, we haven't seen the tracks in detail, but the fact that this is a purely Sonic-themed game means we won't get the variety that we did in Transformed. Having tracks based on Panzer Dragoon, OutRun, Burning Rangers, Super Monkey Ball, Skies of Arcadia, NiGHTS into Dreams and Shinobi was just awesome and I'm really gutted we won't be getting more of that kind of stuff. And agreed on Crush 40 - they're fine and I liked them back in the Sonic Adventure days, but Richard Jacques' soundtrack in Transformed was incredible and again, I'd much rather have that.
@Mr_Pepperami Indeed. Even if it plays well though, the track designs are dull, the character roster is crap and the brilliant remixes of classic music are seemingly gone. All so we can race as Rouge the Bat and listen to Crush 40? No thanks.
Awful. Why would you take Transformed and remove literally everything good about it and replace it with stuff from the awful modern Sonic games? Also, Crush 40 have nothing on Richard Jacques.
Interesting seeing the differences between the review here and the one on Push Square. Personally I'm with the PS guys - the roster paywall is pretty tough to justify. However I'm really glad this kind of game is on Switch, and hope we see more like it.

Re: Review: Mark Of The Ninja: Remastered - A Stellar Stealth Hit That's Better Than Ever
Brilliant game, but I've got no reason to re-buy it. Would love a sequel though.
Re: This Lovely Boo Bean Bag Chair Will Steal Your Heart, And Your Money
It's very nice, but nothing on the giant Pokemon plushies that were out in Japan a while back.
Re: Photorealistic Graphics Didn't Match Welcoming Nature Of Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu And Eevee
The visual style is perfect, wouldn't change a thing. There's a reason all those "Zelda/Mario/Pokemon in Unreal Engine" tech demos look so weird.

I love the graphic style, personally. Shame it's such a short game but interested to find out more.

Re: Jet Set Radio Series Tops Sega AGES Poll As Most Wanted Retro Release
My top choices would be:
1: Panzer Dragoon Saga
2. Burning Rangers
3. Phantasy Star Online (Blue Burst ideally)
4. Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram
5. Scud Race
6. Fighters Megamix
7. OutRun 2
8. NiGHTS into Dreams
9. Shining Force 1-3
10. Jet Set Radio
Make it happen, Sega. Make it happen. I will buy every single one of them.

They're lovely controllers, but no way are they worth £50. Ludicrous price.

Awesome, looking forward to it! Hoping this extends beyond Mega Drive games soon too.
Re: Store Your Switch Games On These Lovely Sega-Inspired MicroSD Cards
Oh man, I really want these. Beautiful. 16GB is a shame though, so I'd be more likely to use them on my camera than my Switch.
Re: Rumour: Nintendo Direct To Be Rescheduled For Thursday 13th September
I'd love to be wrong but I'm not expecting any megaton announcements from this one. Looking forward to it regardless, but not getting carried away.
