Re: Opinion: Not Enough People Are Talking About This Early GOTY Contender

Scooby-Doo

84 endings or so at this point, and I'm still slightly disappointed with the twins, but that's it. Everything else is great. I feel like they have so much potential, but it's wasted. Hope they do dlc, so that there's more Ima and Kako voice lines, and I hope that people crying about localisation find out that most of what they're complaining about is the exact same sentiment as in the original version, I think.

Re: Review: The Hundred Line - Last Defense Academy (Switch) - An Addictive VN & Tactics Blend With Notes Of Persona

Scooby-Doo

@Vyacheslav333 @John_Deacon The demo had dual audio, so it would be reasonable to assume that the full game does too. And honestly it would be a deal breaker for me too.

@Jack_Goetz There isn't a European physical edition at the minute, but there might be if you leave it a while.

Does anyone know a cheap place to import stuff from? Which versions of the game have English language support?

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (23rd November)

Scooby-Doo

Got a cold or something, and the roads round here are closed with snow anyway, so at the very least, I've plenty of time to play video games. Still haven't finished Chaos; Head Noah, despite the fact I've had it for years. I'll probably end up dragged into a couple of matches of Smash Ultimate, or some amount of Mario Kart. Ai: The Somnium Files - Nirvana Initiative is also something I've got to get back to, and I was going to try and play some more complex games in Japanese, and currently, the only ones I can think of with JP text are Danganronpa. I was supposed to be travelling tomorrow, but that's probably delayed.

Re: How Well Do You Know The Nintendo DS?

Scooby-Doo

10/19. In my defence, I was a DS Lite guy (still got the DS Lite release year wrong), and was actually not alive yet when the DS first came out. And I'm not really into a lot of Nintendo's first party output.

Re: Most Stressful Nintendo Switch Games

Scooby-Doo

Catherine Full Body is really stressful to me, but I played it only on the hardest difficulty, so that's kind of to be expected. The multiplayer is mad worrying, though. The blocks fall away so fast, and even if you try to work together, if you're playing with the wrong people, they might just pull the wrong block away, and then you can watch your hard work disappear down the drain.

Re: Your 'Nintendo Switch Year In Review 2023' Stats Are Available Now

Scooby-Doo

Just my main user. 149 hours overall and I've spent 71 hours playing Live A Live. I played 10 games. This reminds me that I need to get back to some games, like RainCode and Tales of Vesperia. I spent 18 hours altogether in Famicom Detective Club. 16 hours in World's End Club. The hours are out of date for Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection, I've spent way more than 1 hour in that. Damn, that first percentage is utterly, well, wacky. 47% RPG and most of that must be Live A Live. 24% Action being Hades, No More Heroes, and Mega Man Zero. Narrative Adventure 15% and Adventure 13%, but those are functionally interchangeable. Tales of Vesperia might be RPG or Action, so not sure on that. I'm just confused about Board Game(1%), though. Must be just that Danganronpa dumb thing.

Re: Talking Point: What Are The Worst Parts Of Your Favourite Games?

Scooby-Doo

Live A Live and Mega Man Zero are, at least at the moment, some of my favourite games. But even I would readily admit that they have some weak points. For Live A Live, I'd have to say, I think, The First, for reasons of an awful lot of grinding to 100% it and really annoying voice acting. It's funny, but really irritating. Mega Man Zero is currently really annoying me because the screen is too small, so I can't see where I'm jumping, which is a pain, especially in the missions in the factory. The factory sucks.

Re: Mailbox: Mother Remakes, Dual Screens, Washing Machines - Nintendo Life Letters

Scooby-Doo

It feels like over the years, so many games my family has have gone through the washer and the dryer, but looking back on it, the actual amount is just 2. My copy of a LEGO Ninjago game, which afterwards had a horrible grey groove through the sticker and the cart itself but still worked, and my brother's copy of Pokemon Ultra Sun, which stopped working temporarily, but was otherwise unharmed.

Re: Anniversary: Happy Birthday To Nintendo's Ugliest, Most Indestructible Console

Scooby-Doo

It's not that ugly, and you can still fit it in a pocket, if the pocket was large enough. I wouldn't say it was especially sturdy, though. About 3 out of 6 would break within 8 years, and break badly, in my siblings' experience. 2 of them lost the ability to play cartridges, and another would take 5 minutes to switch on, and that's not even touching on the circle pad. Mine only has a problem with that last one currently, but I'm getting kind of worried about it, as the cartridge slot sounds off. I suppose that's just what happens when you entrust a bunch of youngsters with a console, though.

Re: Talking Point: How Do You Store Your Games Collection?

Scooby-Doo

Switch and 3/DS games go mostly in an under bed storage box sorted by alphabetical order (barring new ones and ones that I like to go back to), Wii and Xbox 360 games just go in various boxes and baskets, I have no physical PS3 games (yet), and Vita games just go in my bag, 'cos I only have 2 physical ones. I think that's it. On a side note, however, I would absolutely love a room to fill up with bookshelves for this and stuff.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 29th)

Scooby-Doo

Chaos;Head Noah, one of the most expensive impulse buys I've ever given in to, after getting it at about launch because the steelbook looked pretty. I played it back then, but ended up dropping it pretty quickly because I forgot what was going on it after not playing for days. I'm actually kind of enjoying it, more than I thought I would. Might play RainCode, but don't really want to get yelled at by the owner of the console. Also been playing Danganronpa Ultra Despair Girls, in English this time, just to platinum it and know exactly what's going on at times. It's terrible, but I actually really like the gameplay.

Re: Random: Catch A Whiff Of Ryuji And Haru With These Persona 5 Royal Candles

Scooby-Doo

@Nintendencies That actually makes perfect sense, yeah. I mean, I still don't think that the scents stated above would fit Ryuji, logically it would be something plainer, but on the other hand, they might have Haru's smell about right. I have to say, it isn't a particular interest of mine, speculating on the scents of fictional characters, but it's always mildly amusing when it comes up. I mean, I sell soap, but I don't think, say, "Peppermint, that would suit Yusuke down to the ground". At least, not until now.
I think I might have gotten sidetracked here, but yeah. Sorry.

Re: Random: Catch A Whiff Of Ryuji And Haru With These Persona 5 Royal Candles

Scooby-Doo

I'm kinda beginning to hate this company, not for any practices to do with the games themselves, but stuff like this? I mean, for one thing, they've done Persona-branded mouthwash. How could anyone think that was a good idea, and who would buy it? As for this one, why choose Ryuji? I feel that almost any of the other Phantom Thieves would be a better choice. I apologise for this unnecessary little rant, I've had a bit of a bad morning.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 15th)

Scooby-Doo

I'd like to be playing Rain Code, but since that's not going to be possible, I'll probably be playing Persona Q on my 2DS, and Q2 if possible, and trying to platinum my Japanese Vita copy of Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls. I ought to actually play it in English again, but for one thing, Vita game cases are a pain to get things out of, and some of the voice acting irks me.

Re: Poll: What's Your Game Of The Year Of 2023 So Far?

Scooby-Doo

@Darthmoogle Right, well, so far the music is top-tier, the visuals are often nice to look at, but it deserves mention that there is a fair amount of pop-in at various moments and the character models can look a bit blurry, the story so far is actually kind of interesting, I've only noticed one slight bit of framerate dropping, and I don't think it was that much anyway. The gameplay is, I don't know if you've played Danganronpa, but many of the aspects are taken from that, with varying amounts of variation, I could probably elaborate later, a fair few qtes though. First chapter isn't so difficult to figure out, so I'm not really sure about difficulty. The game has some weird stuff sometimes. I'm not very far in, so this might not be very helpful in the long run or at all, and for that, I apologise.

Re: Talking Point: Which Pokémon-Themed Nintendo Console Has The Best Design?

Scooby-Doo

I didn't initially like the Zacian/Zamazenta one, but over the few years I've been using it, it's rather grown on me. The Dialga/Palkia ones both look nice, and I like the way the Switch lite one resembles the old one, but they could have been a bit more creative with it. Those, along with the Scarlet/Violet OLED, are the only ones I'd consider buying for myself. Especially the OLED. I really like that one.

Re: Talking Point: Which Gaming Moments Made You Question Your Intelligence?

Scooby-Doo

At one point in Spirit Tracks, there was a puzzle, something to do with the line of sight of a statue, or something like that. I was stuck on it for ages, despite having been able to do similar puzzles in many other games. After a while I realised that the lines were supposed to pass each other, but I had just kept ending them about when they intersected. For this instance, I can only assume that Ghostbusters was on the tv. Probably some even worse instances, but they've probably been locked in the deepest section of my mind out of shame.
