Re: Review: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition (Switch) - An Underrated Gem Transforms Into The Series' Best

Sarkos

Yeah, I'd say 200+ hours is a negative for me unfortunately, especially since I already played it on Wii U. I'm glad they improved upon some of my issues with the original. I loved it back then but it had some extremely frustrating elements, party management being a big one of them. Now I'm wishing I hadn't played it before, haha.

Still, even though I'll probably skip this one, I strongly recommend it to people who never played the original (and have enough free time). It's really, really fun.

Re: So, Will You Be Getting Xenoblade Chronicles X For Switch?

Sarkos

As much as I enjoyed it on Wii U, it eventually became a slog and I had to force myself to finish it. At my age I just don't have the patience I used to have for 100+ hour-long RPGs. So I'll probably skip this version, but I'm happy that many people will get the chance to play it for the first time, it truly is a fantastic game.

Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom Appears To Have amiibo Support

Sarkos

At this point I've mostly moved on from amiibo and I'm not really interested in getting any more, so I just hope they don't lock anything interesting behind it. I'm okay when amiibo unlock something non-permanent or just give you consumable items or something, but it sucks when I can't get 100% completion of a game without amiibo.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Monster Hunter Stories For Switch?

Sarkos

I actually played the 3DS version for the first time not too long ago, and while I loved it, I'm not really feeling the need to play it again so soon.

I might be convinced to get it on sale at some point later, though. Capcom games usually get some nice discounts after some time, so I'm not in a hurry.

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate The Summer Game Fest 2024 Opening Showcase?

Sarkos

Really bad overall, but I'm extremely hyped for Monster Hunter Wilds so getting a new trailer for that was kinda cool (even though it was somewhat underwhelming).
Other than that, Neva looks very pretty. And while I don't particularly care about the game, seeing a first party Sony game on a Nintendo console was quite notable.
Most of the rest was incredibly boring to me. This didn't need to be 2 hours long.

Re: Soapbox: Fire Emblem’s Future May Not Be In Turn-Based Combat

I don't know, FE used to be one of my favorite franchises, but I was put off from Three Houses because of the focus on social stuff, and didn't even bother with Engage because of the absolutely atrocious character designs (IMO).

If they're so hellbent on turning the franchise into a waifu/husbando simulator, then at least let us be gay with any character. And have some decent character designs. Then I might consider giving it another chance.

Re: Hands On: Revisiting The Tale In 'Monster Hunter Stories' On Switch

Sarkos

I played this one on 3DS just before 2 came out and I adored it. I think the sequel is a stronger game overall, but this one is still definitely worth playing. Glad to see the port is good.

Still hoping for a rerelease of the old MH games (20th anniversary seemed like the perfect opportunity, but oh well...).

Re: Rumour: Pokémon Leaker Suggests Gen 10 Games Are Coming In 2026

Sarkos

This guy has zero credibility these days. He clearly had a legit source at some point as he leaked lots of stuff back then (mixed with an enormous amount of terrible takes and petty drama) but all his recent "leaks" have been wrong, so that clearly isn't the case anymore. All he has left is the terrible takes and the petty drama.
Honestly it's not worth reporting.

Re: Switch Online's Missions & Rewards Adds Zelda Icons You Can Only "Get By Playing"

Sarkos

Not the best-looking art they could've picked from this game, but still getting all of them because of nostalgia (not like there's much else to spend these points on).

But ugh, having to boot up the game is unnecesarily annoying. I've already played this game a million times, Nintendo, including on NSO! I know it only takes a minute, but what's the point of forcing us to do this?

Re: Pokémon Scarlet And Violet's Next Mass Outbreak Features A Mystery Pokémon

Sarkos

While it being "just" Hisuian Voltorb might be underwhelming to some, it's still a form that can't be normally obtained in SV, and this also enables many new ball combinations (because Voltorb is genderless, we can't do the trick where we pass down the ball to another form when breeding, so we were limited to the balls that exist in PoGo).

So a cool event overall! Not sure it was worth the "mystery", but hey, I'll take it. xP

Re: Eastward's Farm Sim DLC Will Sprout Onto Switch January 2024

Sarkos

@Vexx234 I played it when it was on free trial a while ago, and I've never had a game crash on me as often as this one (and it wasn't even that long!). A friend who also played it during the trial had a similar experience. I enjoyed it overall, but the crashes were on another level. If it weren't for autosave I would've given up after the first few hours.

Re: Capcom Ending Monster Hunter Rise "Collab DLC" In January 2024

Sarkos

@Znake I have three theories: First, the game is multiplatform this time (even though that didn't stop Capcom from having platform-exclusive collabs in the past, but it's still a possibility). Second: The massive Capcom leak from a few years ago might have discouraged Nintendo from doing any sort of collabs as we know them to be incredibly secretive. Third: Monster Hunter is massive now, so maybe Capcom doesn't feel the need to spend as much money on licencing now as they consider the franchise can stand on its own, as opposed to when it was more niche and collabs helped with marketing. Just speculating of course, we don't know for sure.

That said, yeah it's very sad that we didn't get any Nintendo collabs this time. I would've loved a Wolf Link Palamute costume.
