Famitsu's Japanese chart figures are now in for both 27th April - 3rd May and 4th - 10th May after a delay in chart publication last week. As such, we have a bumper episode of data for you this time around. Strap in!
It probably comes as no surprise that Animal Crossing: New Horizons is still comfortably at number one, now finding itself sitting at a staggering total of 4,350,458 physical copies sold in Japan alone. Even now, almost two months after launch, it's still selling around 200,000 boxed copies in Nintendo's home region per week.
You'll find the top ten lists for both weeks mentioned below (first numbers are that week's estimated sales, followed by total sales):

Disgusting numbers
Yikes FFVII Remake appears to be a relative bomb sales wise.
I was going to pick it up but it is just a bit too cringe worthy for me.
@TheFullAndy A bomb? Those are extremely good numbers and they're climbing every week with no signs of slowing. Million sellers in Japan are rare and it will be there in a few weeks.
And Noah said unto the Lord, "We are going to need a bigger boat!"
@Spoony_Tech
Considering how hyped the game has been since it was teased at the very start of the PS3 generation, those figures seem small.
I mean Ring Fit Adventure is looking like it will outsell it.
I will have to disagree with you.
Edit: Also the weekly sales more than halved from May 3 to May 10 so your understanding of "no signs of slowing" is different from mine.
Animal Crossing is a beast
Wow that Animal Crossing. Crazy numbers...
Glad to see Trials of Mana still there, although it's quite surprising (and sad) that the PS4 version is selling so much better than the Switch one. Oh well...
It’s always lovely seeing charts that have quality games filling their list.
Not a regurgitated annual sports game or shooter in sight.
Well done Japan. Doing us all proud!
@TheFullAndy
FF7 Remake has a much different audience than something like Mario Kart and Animal Crossing. A jrpg will never sell comparatively to something like Fifa for instance.
@TheFullAndy Before the switch there were no games with more than >2 million sales per game in a decade. Take digital/physical percentages into account too during the pandemic. So all in all I think FFVII is doing very well in Japan.
https://metro.co.uk/2018/01/11/splatoon-2-first-game-hit-2-million-sales-japan-decade-7221176/
@GiygasAF
I know but considering it is Japan where JRPGs do sell and FFVII Remake has probably been the most anticipated JRPG in years, it looks to be a relative bomb sales wise.
I mean a fitness game is going to outsell it and considering how many millions Square Enix must have poured into it these past 5 or 6 years I wonder if they are happy with the sales.
Keep in mind I said relative bomb.
@Friendly
Well that is just not true, a quick google search shows many, many games pre Switch have sold over two million, including the original FFVII.
Holy crap, AC: NH is gonna end up a 30 million+ worldwide seller by the end of the Switch life cycle, huh? As if it wasn't crazy enough how fast it sold to start, the momentum is still strong as hell and we haven't even seen most of the game's updates or the inevitable onslaught of merchandising after Nintendo saw the early numbers. We could be looking at a Pokemon-in-the-90s type phenomenon here.
MK8 Deluxe closing in on 3 million physical in Japan alone too, joining Splatoon 2, Animal Crossing & Smash. Absolutely insane sales for their biggest franchises. Fantastic stuff.
@TheFullAndy Ring Fit Adventure's been hard to get, and demand's also been driven up by people trying to stay inside. It'll probably tail off once things return to normal.
FFVII Remake will probably see bursts of sails for the PS5, when the sequels come out, and if there's ever the rumored PC port. But it's been selling decently in the rest of the world, too - it's sold over 3.5 million copies in three days, also according to Famitsu (compare Animal Crossing's 11.77 million in 11 days.)
Also, this chart's ignoring digital copies. Including those, it sold a million copies just in Japan in three days!
TL;DR: FFVII Remake's doing alright for itself and it's dumb to try to use it as evidence for a console war.
@GiygasAF
True, I think we're just surprised that FFVII isn't selling better considering the hype surrounding it. It's a remake of one of the biggest games of all time. In my opinion it isn't a good remake, but people seem to like it and it is well made so I don't really get it.
I'm more surprised that anybody in Japan still buys things physically. ESPECIALLY a game like ACNH where you would think you would want it digitally as it's meant to be played every day for a year if not longer. I have over 200 hours in it and was wishing Nintendo would let me mail in the cart and the box for a digital copy. I only bought it physical b/c I thought I might not like it and would want to trade it back in, which you can't do w/ digital that I'm aware of.
So yeah, 4 million physical in Japan, what is the digital number?
So what's the appeal of Animal Crossing? I think it looks so cute and relaxing, but I'm not sure I'd enjoy the gameplay... I played it once back on DS era, I think, and I couldn't quite understand what was I supposed to do.
Basically Animal Crossing has totally 'crossed over' to mainstream media and that's in no small part down to the pandemic and the perfect timing of the release. Escaping to a desert island paradise and busying yourself with a twee comfy life? Yes please. Could not have come at a better time. I'm a Nintendo fan for life and this is the first AC game I've bought and it's damn fantastic. I can play with my partner who I can't see, my niece who I'm also not allowed to see - what's not to love.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is decent but that is still one game I rather wait until all episodes are released before I pick it up and when I do it'll probably be during a sale. I rather not pay $60 per episode but all episodes for $40 meaning the complete definitive version. Perhaps I may get it on PS5 if the complete edition made it to that one.
@RenanKJ I totally thought that hence never playing it before and sicking to Zelda, Mario and Metorid. It's lovely though, you can really get sucked in doing somewhat menial tasks (you'll be weeding your island in a way you'd never touch your own garden) and it's just generally sweet, undemanding and gives you a sense of wellbeing and a smile.
@CoastersPaul
Console War? Where have I done that?
I am analysing the sales of only that game in this weeks charts.
RE: FF7R
A few reasons that it might not be selling better than it is, which is selling well as it is in tiny little Japan:
Word got out about the ending and people aren't happy w/ the "reimagining" when they've told it was a "remaster".
Everybody in Japan has already played FF7 to death.
People in Japan prefer menu driven turn based to the new action.
Squenix STILL DOESN'T KNOW how many parts there will be.
FF7R will be $20 by Black Friday, ACNH will be $60 for 3 years. That's the reason Nintendo games are the only ones I buy at release, they rarely go on sale, everything on PS4 can be had for half price in 6 months.
All that said, I personally think it's selling well. Squenix is lucky anybody buys anything FF related from them after they canceled the announced and dated FFXV DLC. I'm not getting FF7R until it's done, in a decade or 2, if ever. Final piece may be the new Half-Life 3.
I'll also be getting Paper Mario Origami King on release, waiting for Black Friday to get Ghost of Tsushima for similar price reasons.
@rjejr It's funny, FF7 Remake has already been on sale. They must not be happy with the low sales figure for such an expensive game.
@rjejr
Excellent points, I fully agree with these. I only played VII-R because my brother game shares with me on ps4. I had no plans to buy it. I was either going to wait for all of the parts to release and it be a complete game or a steep sale. After playing it, while I can praise the graphics and soundtrack all day, I just don't think it holds a candle to the original. Weird pacing issues, putting in a lot of filler to extend a relatively short sequence in the original game, and a bad ending soured me on the whole thing. They really shouldn't have called this a remake, especially since Nomura can't seem to control his Kingdom Hearts tendencies.
@Samwise7 You just made the game sound more boring lol. I don't see the appeal either. Especially 60$ worth of appeal. I'm glad that such a non-violent, non-sexual game is selling so well but I sincerely can't understand why so many people from the casual audience are buying it. No shade on the game or its fans at all. I'm not trashing the game, just confused.
I'm just really happy to see Ring Fit Adventure doing so well! It has definitely been very welcome in our household with everything else going on in the world, but I also just really like the game in general. Hopefully we get some more content updates like they added recently.
@rjejr
Weren't Square Enix the ones who had a ridiculous sales expectation for one of the Tomb Raider games?
FFVII has sold well in the normal terms but relatively, with the years and costs invested in making the game and what Square's expectations might be, I think it is a bit of a bomb.
@Cool_Squirtle I'm of the same opinion as you—I just do not understand the appeal at all. But it is obviously resonating with people around the world, and I'm very happy for the fans of the series.
@TheFullAndy what's cringe worthy?
So you only buy games that sell over how many million? Lmao
@Cool_Squirtle it's escapism. The world outside is scary and dangerous at the moment, and people want a break.
@Trajan
"So you only buy games that sell over how many million"
Point out to me where I said that.
@Phostachio Without spoiling anything, it's going in a Xenogears like fashion, which is cool as hell.
@TheFullAndy
>Yikes FFVII Remake appears to be a relative bomb sales wise.
>I was going to pick it up but it is just a bit too cringe worthy for me.
@TheFullAndy Cronovirus helped FF7 Remake a lot. It would most likely had bombed much harder without the epidemic. This is a major drop in sales from FF usual numbers. I wonder what's happening.
@Trajan
What has cringe worthy (as in the story, voice acting and script) got to do with how many copies a game has sold?
Are you aware that two sentences in one comment are not always related to the other?
@mesome713
I don't know about that, were physical copies not limited because of Covid 19? Probably balanced out in the end.
@TheFullAndy Yeah true, Animal Crossing had a bad problem with limited copies too. Maybe both could have did much better with the supply problems.
@mesome713 it sold 3.5 million in it's first 3 days...
@TheFullAndy Proper sentence structure has a noun for a verb.
@Trajan
It should be going in A FFVII-like fashion, considering it's a remake of FFVII. I and so many other fans were hyped for a remake of one of our favorite childhood games, seeing all of it with modern graphics and QOL improvements but with the plot the same. We did not ask for one of our favorite childhood games to have its plot turned on its head, to drag out a 6 hour intro into a 30+ hour game with generic filler quests and be sold to us piecemeal. Square Enix has been out of touch with its FF fans for a while (look at FFXV), and to me FFVII Remake is just another disappointments in a series of disappointments.
@mesome713
Animal Crossing is just an absolute beast. It is on a whole other level to anything sales wise.
Unstoppable!
@Trajan That's a major drop off. It'll be lucky if it sells over 5million. It's gonna need a lot more sales events to get that. It's already went on sale twice so far and just came out. That's sad.
@Trajan
Don't try and blame me because you put 1 + 1 together and came up with elephant.
Absolute domination from Nintendo in Japan, great to see. With XB , 51 games and Paper Mario right around the corner , I think there’s enough there to keep the momentum going.
Really pleased to see a risk such as Ring Fit still being rewarded with such strong and consistent sales as well.
@link3710 I feel like every other title on this week's list(other than brain training) leans more towards "escapism" than ac. Tending a garden and gaining currency to pay off loans seems more like "stressful normal life."
@mesome713 It hasn't gone on sale though...
@Phostachio I like what they're doing. Changing it up and essentially making a sequel.
@Trajan It has, twice it has been $10 dollars off. Just 3 days ago was 10 off.
https://www.gamespot.com/articles/final-fantasy-7-remake-is-already-10-off-for-a-lim/1100-6477097/
@mesome713 Ebay.
@Phostachio This is sad to hear, was gonna get the game at 50% off, but might have to wait till $19.99.
@TheFullAndy Sorry for all the replies you are receiving lol. I feel like I'm particularly responsible.
@Trajan You can still buy right now for $49 free shipping, lol, it still hasn't sold out. That's sad. My how the mighty have fallen.
@Spoony_Tech
Not at all, I started it lol.
As I tried to make clear on further comments, I am just talking about it being a bomb relatively speaking to Square's expectation, not that it hasn't sold well.
@mesome713 Yep. Good thing such a terrible game won't come to switch am I right?
@mesome713 Dude, everybody knows you are a fanboy who lacks logic and tries to prove desperately that Nintendo is objectively better. You do realize they give a crap if you die tomorrow right? They are a company, not your beloved family. We get it, you love Nintendo, after all they make great games. The best? For many yes, for many others not. You are doing more wrong than right to Nintendo's image by being the classic stereotype of the annoying faboy that can't simply shut his mouth about how his beloved preferred company is succesful and "MakEs thE BeSt gAMeS evER aNd oTHerS SuK!.
FF7 was a success to Square Enix, a 10% discount is nothing and honestly, something great to happen to a succesful new game. That's something you won't see Nintendo doing because in that aspect, they are greedy as hell. Lol they don't even do it with games games that have years on the market. Sure, there's no need for them to do it, but sometimes it's better to show more accesibility for customers and promote different games among people that without a significant discount wouldn't have tried them otherwise.
@TheFullAndy I get what you're saying but I still believe a million seller in Japan is all the expectation was for Square. Maybe a low bar expectation mind you.
@roy130390 I'm happy Nintendo don't go for cheap and chase sales numbers. That leaves more money for developers and more work for said developers in the future.
All I'm saying is it bombed expectations. You think it didnt, that's ok. But history shows these numbers are not that great. It's most likely the game has underperformed and will now have to be discounted to get more copies out and hope the next installment does better.
@TheFullAndy RPGs don’t sell that much in Japan other than Zelda, Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest.. They are more niche in Japan..
it’s not the 90s anymore.. I think they do better in the US than Japan now.
@roboshort It didn't do that much better over seas. Counting physical and digital it sold 3.5 million worldwide. And a bunch as you can see came from Japan. This was suppose to be the biggest and badest jrpg ever made. Now it's just your average game. People want the Witcher and Zelda, not Final Fantasy.
@roboshort
Yeah and this is THE Final Fantasy game that everyone wanted.
I just thought it would have done bigger numbers even though it has still sold well in normal circumstances.
So FF7R being outsold by Ring Fit (which has been in the market forever) is meeting SE expectations? As has been mentioned here already, it’s not selling terribly, but for one of the biggest releases of the year, that’s not exactly great either.
@mesome713 You do realize that many of those discounts help to get mor sales, right? In the end, it keeps the games relevant in terms of sales and developers get more money. This might sound crazy to you but if your games aren't selling anymore, you get no money. Also, I'm talking just about Nintendo games, because you can thind many of the third parties that have put their faith on them with 80% discounts, just like with Playstation.
AC outselling FF7 10:1 btw o.O
@roy130390 When you discount a game 50% off it means you have to sell double the copies. It also hurts your sales cause people always wait for the price to drop. Nintendo is about long term profits. It's better for investors, developers, gamers, and the whole nine yards.
FF can discount the game all they want, they never even come close to Zelda Breath of the Wild. Heck even 80% off, still won't come close.
@Spoony_Tech
Their next Financial report will likely give a clearer picture of whether they are happy or not.
Main thing is that people who want it bought it and are hopefully enjoying it. Unfortunately the game didn't end up being the remake I wanted so I will sit this one out.
@mesome713 Not every developer has the same popularity as Nintendo, that's not an accesible and functional plan for many developers. Not only that, Nintendo hasn't always been in a good position because of their inflexibility. I worked at a game store in the Wii U days and the consoles and games were constantly on discount because otherwise they wouldn't sell and they waited too much to apply discounts. They had to adjust to the times. If someone like... let's say Inti Creates applies the current Nintendo strategy that you mentioned, they wouldn't be around anymore.
It is weird, FF7R was touted to be one of the biggest releases this year (Maybe even the biggest), but to see it get curb-stomped like this... Makes me wonder what went wrong, and where.
I’ve been seeing people say that they have nothing to do, or nothing to spend currency on in the game? Do you really reach a point of nothing else to do in the game?
@roy130390 Wii U games weren't constantly on sale. Nintendo has never waviered even when Wii U had horrible numbers. Meanwhile Sony tried to discount Vita and Vita games to high heaven. Look where that got them, it made everything worst.
Apple uses the Nintendo method also. And we can't say if other tried they wouldn't be around, cause none have tried. They are too focused on greed to think about long term profits. They just want to quick fix.
@TheFullAndy yeah, I’ve probably mistaken it with 3 million? SSBU and Splatoon were the first to cross that mark, right? Was big news at the time?
@mesome713 I saw it in my store except for Smash and Mario Kart, and even that way they weren't selling and Nintendo was only depending on the 3DS, which by the way, was more accesible and had moderate discounts. Vita's downfall (and it's common knowledge) were the memmory cards and lack of proper games for it, not the discounts.
Apple, again, is a massive company. If you really think that's a good example I can't help you.
Again, it's not about a quick fix, is about surviving, and Nintendo was on the verge at one time. Many developers are much, more little and can't afford those mistakes.
@Cool_Squirtle Okay, but I guess the point I failed to make is that it lets you visit friends. You can hang out, especially when combined with VC, helping people feel more connected.
Also the loan isn't stressful, there's no payments due or interest.
@Cool_Squirtle Hahaha yeah I can see that. Shouldn't have mentioned weeding. Lol. I also didn't think I'd like Stardew Valley but I got obsessed. Let's say it's a tale of discovery, innovation and socialisation where you are free to put your creativity to good use and be the person you always dreamed of being. Haha.
@Friendly
The likes of Pokemon red/blue are near 8 million, FFVII original was 4 million!
It just wasn't as common for games to pass the two million mark in the last 6/7 years but with Switch it is becoming the new normal again.
@Cool_Squirtle I think it is the lack of urgency that makes the Animal Crossing chill. This one more than previous ones, even. You get to choose the pace you advance things, well, unless you are stuck waiting for buildings to get built and such. You get to focus on what you enjoy at that moment. Plus the social aspects. Also, I think there is a feeling of connection right now that Animal Crossing is playing in the current circumstances, of knowing that you are part of something with millions of other people that is filling a need for many people.
It really is a perfect storm for the game to go huge. It's the most welcoming game in the series, the Switch is a hot platform that has hit mainstream for Nintendo, and the isolation so many people have been dealing with, not to mention the stress.
All that said, it is definitely not for everyone, and never has been. I totally get why it's not a game for you. A lot of people just don't like the gameplay it offers, which is cool. I am super happy to see its success, because I have adored the series since the beginning and I think it deserves it, but I am pretty surprised by how big a hit it has become, too.
I do admit, the turnip prices bring me stress, but that is stress of my own making.
@roy130390 Nintendo has never been on the verge of survival. No company makes more sales than Nintendo off games. Nintendo not being able to survive is like saying Vita almost sunk Sony out of bussiness. It would be silly to think so.
Nintendo never even dropped the price of the Wii U console. Cause they were smart and knew it would help. Short term profits would not have helped them in the future.
@mesome713 These were the best selling games of the sixth generation. nintendo has a couple and not even in the first 5 places or even close: https://vgsales.fandom.com/wiki/Best_selling_games_(sixth_generation)
So, Nintendo isn't always the company that gets more sales from their games.
I do admit that I expressed myself incorrectly. Nintendo saw hard times, but they always had something that saves their asses like the 3DS in the case of the Wii U era. Still, don't tell me that you can't see why developers can't have the same approach as a company who has been in the competition for so long and that has much more overall budget?
Tell me what you want about the Wii U not getting sales, which I did see. Even if they didn't do it that would be more idiotic on their part and would explain why no one was buying that thing in comparison to the PS3 and 360 and then the PS4 and X Box One.
Profits are needed dude, like it or not, short term or whatever you wanna call it lol. If they din't have the 3DS, which did have discounts and even offered to trade your old system for the "New" model for a discount, they would have only depended on the Wii U and their story would be completely different from what it is now.
Whatever dude, honestly we both now that you won't listen to reason and that you'll keep being their cheerleader no matter what they do. Let's just agree to disagree.
In fact.... I kind forgot about the ignore button. I think that you are the first one to make me use tht feature. Congratulations!
I have not missed a day yet. I have played, every single day since the game launched! ACNH is one of the best games on Switch!
What's hilarious is that people think 3.5 million in 3 days is bad when they even made a post about it to celebrate. And the number is only going to grow lmao. Doesn't matter how big you thought the hype was, JRPGs don't sell like crazy especially in Japan of all places. The only ones that do that there is dragon quest and pokemon
JRPGs have been doing so much better in recent times, but they'll likely never attract the casuals that go buy Fifa and animal crossing in droves
@mesome713 you do know the virus helped animal crossing sell aswell
If you look at just PS4 sales numbers, FF7 remake has sold much better than FF15 on PS4, but I do think making it a PS4 exclusive for a year was a bad call. As it stands the combined sales of FF15 on PS4, Xbone and PC were much higher in that first month than what we are seeing for FF7 Re.
Note: I am referring to global sales, not Japanese sales.
People are forgetting animal crossing is aimed and kids, families and casual gamers so their target audience is waaay bigger than a JRPG, so yes of course its going to sell like crazy plus the virus forced people to stay in doors meaning more people wanted games to play which also boosted its sales not to mention its a relaxing game which is what people want during these times, and to top it off people have been waiting 7 years for a new animal crossing (me included) so the initial sales were always going to be sky high and it helps that this game deserves it all
@TheFullAndy @MysticX @Trajan Ok, i found it. Splatoon 2 and SSBU were the first games in a decade to reach 2 million.
https://metro.co.uk/2018/01/11/splatoon-2-first-game-hit-2-million-sales-japan-decade-7221176/
So with that in mind, and the fact that PS4 users tend to lean more towards digital than switch users, I don’t see FFVII as a failure at all.
@roy130390 Remember Nintendo games aren't multipatform games. They don't have to pay fees which run up to 30%. Even with Wii U not doing good, Nintendo made good profit. Of course they were spending a lot develop Switch and Switch game which cost, but they made all that development money back.
@Friendly
That's fine. I do see it as a relative failure for reasons already set out through my other comments.
@TheFullAndy I remember that Tomb Raider game, not the numbers exactly but it sold like 8 million but they expected 13 million, something ridiculous like that. I don't recall reading what their expectations were for FF7R but considering they won't even say how many parts it will be they should consider themselves lucky anybody bought it rather than waiting for some clarity. So in that regard I think it's done well.
And the best selling PS4 exclusive after 3 days, outselling God of War and Spiderman? If you expected any more than that I'd say it's you who has a strange way of measuring success this time.
https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2020/04/final_fantasy_vii_remake_moves_3_5_million_copies_in_three_days_is_one_of_ps4s_fastest_selling_exclusives
@mesome713 I think most games, not made by Nintendo and not on Nintendo consoles, go on sale after 2 months or so these days. I think the publishers have realized if people haven't purchased it during the first 60 days they are probably waiting for a sale.
Case in point - Xbox, Steam, PS4 ALL getting Lego Ninjago free this week, but it's still $50 on Swit h. 😝
@rjejr That doesn't mean it's good for gaming. That's why we see so many fail and play it too safe. With Nintendo you get good profits. And majority do buy first few weeks, but on Nintendo gamers buy not because it's cheap, but because they actually want to play it. Backlogs of unplayed games are not as common as other platforms.
@rjejr
OK maybe I am being too harsh on the game sales.
By the way that link talks about shipped games not sold games whereas the figures for God of War and Spiderman was sold games so FFVIIR may not have surpassed either game.
Wait if Ring Fit is 2nd in Japan, does that mean they got some restocks?
What a beast. This will be the biggedt game in Japan history
@the_beaver Makes sense that the PS4 version of Trials of Mana is still selling a lot. PS4 has fewer evergreen games competing for customers than Switch, and the last major release, FFVIIR, was two weeks ago.
Coast was clear for Trials of Mana PS4, not so much for its Switch counterpart, which besides competing against evergreens like Smash and Mario Kart, it also must fight the Animal Crossing New Horizons juggernaut.
@TheFullAndy "may not have surpassed either game."
I don't think FF7R needs to surpass GoW or Spiderman, just be in that conversation. Especially w/ all the negatives against it I mentioned in my original post. I don't think GoW or Spiderman were facing too many headwinds. Well besides Spiderman removing puddles, but if that's the worse of your problems, you're probably doing pretty well.
I bought GoW day 1, borrowed Spiderman from the library, still waiting on FF7R until it's all done. Though I'll play it if it shows up in PS+ on PS5.
@rjejr
God of War was outstanding, Spiderman was good but I got bored, open world games generally bore me, and FF VII Remake just didn't end up being the remake I wanted so I won't even bother.
I get the feeling there will be a real backlash critically on FFVII Remake when all the launch hype has died down. I don't mean the normal backlash that accompanies all major games post release (cause no one is ever happy) but just a general "we got carried away" vibe. I hope you get what I mean lol
@TheFullAndy ""we got carried away""
I'm pretty sure there is already backlash b/c of the ending, as it's not really a "remake", it's more of a "reimagining". I think that will only get worse. And I can easily imagine a future where they never finish it. Like Lego Hobbit or Halflife 3 or Scalebound.
GoW was great until the last "world" and that huge cliffhanger of an ending which to me makes it as much of a "part 1" as FF7R is. I really wish someone would have told me, I would have waited. I don't understand how a dev can make a game that has a hub world portal w/ 7 different worlds available in a traveling machine but the game ends w/ you only being able to visit 5 of those words. That's an atrocious design choice unless you call the game "part 1". And nobody ever agrees w/ me on that point now, but 10 years from now when all the parts are finished and it's released as 1 8k bundle on some future console people are all going to be like "hey., this really is just 1 long game when you play it straight through." I won't get the next GoW until finding out if it's another cliffhanger or it ends his Norse story arc, presumably fighting Odin. Though I'm guessing next game ends w/ Thor, 3rd game ends w/ Odin, so I'll wait for that 8k bundle I suppose.
Spiderman needs a "Director's cut" where they remove all of the Peter Parker sections. And cut down on some of the grinding through faceless minions. Though since the AC games keep including the present I suppose Sprderman will keep including Peter Parker.
There really is no pleasing me, and yes it does suck to be me.
@rjejr
I will respectfully disagree with your opinion of God of War, it never pretended to be anything and offered a complete game, Thor at the end was just a taste of things to come, I was totally satisfied with the game as a whole.
FFVIIR, I just wanted a few quality of life improvements, better translation and better graphics and sound, they could have kept everything else the same and I would have been happy. And yes splitting it into episodes was a joke.
I get the never being happy thing though, my mates think I am a killjoy because I have a habit of nitpicking lol.
RE4 is my favourite game of all time and all this talk of a remake is already getting to me! I will become insufferable as that game approaches!
@TheFullAndy I tried RE4 a few times but could never get past a scene early in the game where you walk into an empty village and then are swamped by crazy townspeople or zombies or infected or something. I was told later you need to ring a bell or survive a certain amount of time or something like that, not try to kill them all, but I never went back. I think I own the Wii version. Maybe Gamecube? Maybe more than 1.
Nobody agrees w/ me about GoW, I didn't really expect you to be the first.
@rjejr
In fairness, I do not agree with your opinion of God of War. I even said I respectfully disagree.
Also you describe the first half hour of RE4. If you have the game, you should play it through as you are missing out on a masterpiece.
