Oh sorry guys, I think this is my fault. Y'see, I made a Spotify account a few days ago, so of course John Nintendo-san sensed that over in Kyoto and said "quick, we gotta put Robot99's favorite VGM OST on Spotify".
Something that kinda sucks though is that there's a tiny handful of tracks missing, such as Space Fantasy. It's such a small number of tracks missing that I cannot fathom why they were left out, but oh well, I still got Nintendo Music for that.
"And if you're still on the fence, Playtonic also confirmed that the free demo on Switch 2 will also sport the new 60fps performance mode, so you can try before you buy."
@JohnnyMind Ah, thanks for the info. That's gonna be kind of lame if we miss two weeks so close to each other, I hope they have something really good planned for soon!
I still haven't gotten over the tiny near-worthless New Horizons update from two weeks ago, another small (even smaller than the NH update!) incomplete release taking up next week's weekly slot just feels like a slap in the face. Ah well, still eating well off of the excellent releases from throughout February and March.
@Nep-Nep-Freak The previous game didn't work like that, this one probably doesn't either, especially given that it has more customization options than the console itself does.
The significant typos for both companies involved near the start of the article made me think this was an April Fool's joke of some sort. I'm still not sure lol
@UpsideDownRowlet Us Lego fans have been cracking up about the awkward "18+" branding for years now. We've got plenty of adult staples over here, like Sesame Street and Winnie the Pooh!
Legit up there with Ocarina of Time 3D as the worst / most pointless release. 24 minutes of music, 6 of the ten songs are variants of one song, another "song" is just a jingle, they didn't bother including the HHP stuff (guess we'll have to waste another week on the same game lol), and last week's release was similarly incomplete and small. It's kind of comical actually. Are they planning something wild for the next drop, or did they just run out of steam after the awesome releases throughout Feb/Mar?
Idk why anyone's putting stock in this guy, everything stated here is easily guessable. "Leaking" a new Star Fox game literally a day after Fox's reveal in the SMG Movie is just LOL.
I've been saying for ages that Nintendo knows that they can't raise the Switch 2 prices. This is a great opportunity for them to get the upper hand if they keep it that way. We've come a long way from the "$199" mic drop lol
"Revealing this detail reminds the hardest of core Nintendo fans that, actually, we haven't seen the whole film already through the trailers."
This has almost never been true for big Nintendo reveals for a while now. A lot of the biggest things revealed during prerelease hype cycles often turn out to be to be the only remaining surprises.
I still haven't forgotten when they revealed that you can catch Deoxys in Pokémon OR/AS like a week before the games came out. I was so upset when that turned out to be like the only cool part of the otherwise-bad new postgame content.
Strongly considering picking it up, despite not being a Sonic fan. Could very much do with a demo of the NS2 version, but Sega won't do that for some reason lol
Was kinda hoping we'd get something along with this (like the inevitable lame NSMBW / NSMB2 additions), but ah well. It's been obvious enough that this was coming since they skipped Monday this week.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but this 100% makes up for the lack of image sharing. It makes perfect sense now, and the people who want to will find a way lmao
Lack of a serviceable battery was the one reason I never switched my time-worn New 3DS XL over to a 2DS XL. So it really does mean a lot to me. I hope that this revision comes to the US!
@SeafTheFissh Haha yeah, the game does do that a lot admittedly, but it doesn't mean as much as the game would like you to think. If you remove all of the instances of "this happened five years ago" the game should actually be perfectly legible. I think the only thing that would still be maybe slightly confusing is Miror B.
@AussieMcBucket
It's tricky to say, it's a sequel to Colosseum's story but not really necessary to play in order for plot reasons. The problem with playing XD first is that it's better in nearly every way,* to the point where Colosseum might be a bit tough to get into afterwards. So it's your call really.
(*The exception being that the setting is utilized better in the first game. XD's vibes feel closer to a normal Pokémon game, Colosseum's darker tone feels like a fever dream at times. I think Colosseum's soundtrack is more memorable in places too but that's very subjective.)
Talk about mixed emotions lol. Split between "OMG MY CHILDHOOD FAVORITE GAMECUBE GAME IS FINALLY ON A MODERN PLATFORM HOW IS THIS REAL I CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY IT!!1!" and simultaneously not actually playing it yet because I want to replay Colosseum first. So for now it's just gonna stare back at me mockingly on the GCN player whenever I open it. :-/
@Tempestryke "Where the hell is it" OSTs, things that should have been added ages ago (or at launch). Super Metroid has been at the top of that for a while now.
@Kilroy MKW is still quite new, and it would also take more work than usual to put it on the app, given the size of the OST. So that one isn't too weird imo, I'd be more surprised if it was already here by now tbh.
Yes though, I need Mario Kart World on this app so badly lol
This sounds like a great update. Unpatched Switch 1 games no longer looking worse on the Switch 2 in handheld mode sounds awesome, I hope it works like you'd expect it to!
Dang, that seems like a loss. I remember some dev interview or something for WarioWare D.I.Y., where he mentioned personally struggling to stay focused on a single project, so he made it that players would only need a couple of hours to put together their own microgames. That comment always stuck with me for some reason!
Speedran the quiz just now and I got all twelve right! It probably helps that like half of the questions are Pokémon-related. I'm tied in first on the leaderboard at the time of posting!
I'm just wondering if Mew and Deoxys are available. Can anyone confirm?
EDIT: Ho-Oh + Lugia, not Mew, my bad. (Thanks @Lizuka !) Hearing now that they are indeed available! A speedrunner has beaten the game and confirmed it.
I love this game to bits, but not releasing Colosseum first (or together) is a mistake. I'll be waiting to play this until that releases, and I imagine I won't be the only one.
The New 3DS XL if we're strictly talking about capabilities. But I've always loved the original 3DS XL, the size, button feel, stylus placement, finish, etc. are all perfect on that model!
Fun fact about Armarouge and Ceruledge, the guy who designed them worked on the Mega Man Battle Network series. (I think he was the lead designer for MMBN6?) That's why they look like Mega Man characters!
I personally think that this is the best set of 'Mons after Gen 3, there are so many good ones. Love the Paradoxes!
With that said, I have to vote for Lokix. The first time I evolved one, I was all "dude, what is THAT???" A ninja robot grasshopper, it's just awesome. I named mine Insecticon lol
We've been trying to guess all week over on the Nintendo Music thread what could be the release this week... None of us thought we'd be getting Pokémon before next week lol
I'm so incredibly excited for this because it's our first pre-Switch Pokémon album! It opens up a huge amount of opportunities.
I'm the one guy who likes Barbaracle lol. Big entity made up of small entities is a trope that I'm really into. Bonus points for the new Mega that gets rid of some of the wonkier aspects of its design though!
I knew that Chandelure was generally more liked than it can sometimes sound online, but I didn't expect it be so far ahead in the poll! I'm so used to Genwunners smack-talking it that I thought it would lack some poll presence or at least have some competition. Good to see some justice for my boi!
Gen 5 is an extreme version of hit-or-miss imo - everything is either exceptionally good or quite mediocre, with not much in between. I don't think it has to do with the number of expys either, as I like several of those.
@SplatRay001 @obijuankanoobie Yeah I've got a few online friends who've only played the Wii U version, I'm aware that guys like you actually exist lol. I'm not sure why I went with the Switch version myself tbh, I've had a Wii U since 2012 😂

Actually, now that you mention it, I think there is. "Golden Week" or smth. Last year they skipped a week this time of year too.

Easily the most obvious hole in the app's library by this point, so glad it's finally here! Only took a year and a half lol.
The worst part about this release is that we no longer have an obvious baseline for stupid omissions >_>
