Re: Okay, So The Mario Galaxy Soundtracks Are Officially On Spotify Right Now

Robot99

Oh sorry guys, I think this is my fault. Y'see, I made a Spotify account a few days ago, so of course John Nintendo-san sensed that over in Kyoto and said "quick, we gotta put Robot99's favorite VGM OST on Spotify".

Something that kinda sucks though is that there's a tiny handful of tracks missing, such as Space Fantasy. It's such a small number of tracks missing that I cannot fathom why they were left out, but oh well, I still got Nintendo Music for that.

@Ade117
Wait, it's a limited-time thing?

(Also hi there lol)

Re: New Animal Crossing Songs Have Been Added To Nintendo Music Today

Robot99

Legit up there with Ocarina of Time 3D as the worst / most pointless release. 24 minutes of music, 6 of the ten songs are variants of one song, another "song" is just a jingle, they didn't bother including the HHP stuff (guess we'll have to waste another week on the same game lol), and last week's release was similarly incomplete and small. It's kind of comical actually. Are they planning something wild for the next drop, or did they just run out of steam after the awesome releases throughout Feb/Mar?

Re: Talking Point: Should Nintendo Have Kept The Mario Galaxy Movie Fox Reveal Under Wraps?

Robot99

"Revealing this detail reminds the hardest of core Nintendo fans that, actually, we haven't seen the whole film already through the trailers."

This has almost never been true for big Nintendo reveals for a while now. A lot of the biggest things revealed during prerelease hype cycles often turn out to be to be the only remaining surprises.

I still haven't forgotten when they revealed that you can catch Deoxys in Pokémon OR/AS like a week before the games came out. I was so upset when that turned out to be like the only cool part of the otherwise-bad new postgame content.

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch 2's GameCube Library This Week

@SeafTheFissh
Haha yeah, the game does do that a lot admittedly, but it doesn't mean as much as the game would like you to think. If you remove all of the instances of "this happened five years ago" the game should actually be perfectly legible. I think the only thing that would still be maybe slightly confusing is Miror B.

@AussieMcBucket
It's tricky to say, it's a sequel to Colosseum's story but not really necessary to play in order for plot reasons. The problem with playing XD first is that it's better in nearly every way,* to the point where Colosseum might be a bit tough to get into afterwards. So it's your call really.

(*The exception being that the setting is utilized better in the first game. XD's vibes feel closer to a normal Pokémon game, Colosseum's darker tone feels like a fever dream at times. I think Colosseum's soundtrack is more memorable in places too but that's very subjective.)

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch 2's GameCube Library This Week

Robot99

Talk about mixed emotions lol. Split between "OMG MY CHILDHOOD FAVORITE GAMECUBE GAME IS FINALLY ON A MODERN PLATFORM HOW IS THIS REAL I CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY IT!!1!" and simultaneously not actually playing it yet because I want to replay Colosseum first. So for now it's just gonna stare back at me mockingly on the GCN player whenever I open it. :-/

Re: Veteran 'WarioWare' Director Goro Abe Has Left Nintendo

Robot99

Dang, that seems like a loss. I remember some dev interview or something for WarioWare D.I.Y., where he mentioned personally struggling to stay focused on a single project, so he made it that players would only need a couple of hours to put together their own microgames. That comment always stuck with me for some reason!

Re: Poll: What's Your Favourite 3DS Model?

Robot99

The New 3DS XL if we're strictly talking about capabilities. But I've always loved the original 3DS XL, the size, button feel, stylus placement, finish, etc. are all perfect on that model!

Re: Poll: What's Your Favourite Gen 9 Pokémon?

Robot99

I personally think that this is the best set of 'Mons after Gen 3, there are so many good ones. Love the Paradoxes!

With that said, I have to vote for Lokix. The first time I evolved one, I was all "dude, what is THAT???" A ninja robot grasshopper, it's just awesome. I named mine Insecticon lol

Re: Poll: What's Your Favourite Gen 6 Pokémon?

Robot99

I'm the one guy who likes Barbaracle lol. Big entity made up of small entities is a trope that I'm really into. Bonus points for the new Mega that gets rid of some of the wonkier aspects of its design though!

Re: Poll: What's Your Favourite Gen 5 Pokémon?

Robot99

I knew that Chandelure was generally more liked than it can sometimes sound online, but I didn't expect it be so far ahead in the poll! I'm so used to Genwunners smack-talking it that I thought it would lack some poll presence or at least have some competition. Good to see some justice for my boi!

Re: Poll: What's Your Favourite Gen 5 Pokémon?

Robot99

Gen 5 is an extreme version of hit-or-miss imo - everything is either exceptionally good or quite mediocre, with not much in between. I don't think it has to do with the number of expys either, as I like several of those.

Anyway, Chandalure is da bomb.
