I whole-heartedly believe the look and feel of Mega Man 11 is a dig at Mighty Number 9.

The collections I'll wait and see if they pull weird changes to the port like they did on the gamecube.

Not a bad idea to multiplayer (oop I mean "couch co-op" [god I hate the internet right now]) with a bigger screen on the go I guess, or if you're on a trip and the TV has locked out ports or is just not compatible. This is all assuming you personally prefer a big screen, that is.

I profoundly hope lives are dropped. Nintendo hasn't really designed around them in a way that made it a valuable feature. If you were good you amassed them like a hoarder, if you weren't they only added frustration because other games did the same thing without lives.

Am I the only one who worries when I hear "local co-op" because I wonder if can do single player, or if it "can" (option's there but never balanced to be fun)

My only worry is with that trailer, the movement looked stilted. Like they cleaned up the art to look modern, but used same movements which needed us to forgive a lot more in the old days than you think

I would like a d-pad, but I console mode mine almost all the time, so I use the pro and 8bitdo. They aren't bad attached to the core, but they are so very very tiny to me, I don't like them in my hands or in the little grip. If the grip was wider I might not mind.

Sigh. I wonder if the fact they aren't opening the rewards to Switch is a sign. There's still 3ds (for now) but it's only a matter of time before it gets a successor (or quietly fades away).

Hmm, 2DS is mechanically everything I want without the 3d, but this is the sexiest one Nintendo's ever done (and most love they've EVER given Metroid).

Did they ever fix that scratch-able screen issue? My sister went through needing to send in her new 3ds xl and I'm not up for that emotional roller coaster.

They'll never admit that MyNintendo (in NOA at least) is a garbage fire compared to Club Nintendo's heyday.

I don't own a New 3DS, and this version has all the hardware updates, a nice sleek look, and none of 3D I only legit used on a couple levels of Mario 3Dland, yeah it's attractive.

I totally get the high "not getting" turnout. If I already had a 'New' then it would've been way too soon to bother.

Nice to see in-game they're just small aids to lighten your load rather than game content.
While I like idea of new different features post game, those used to be things anniversary and other such titles used to have built in.

These are the sort of things that only work if you have a room dedicated to your fandom. I wouldn't get the N64 cart table, the arching surface would mean your useful space is less than it looks.

I wonder if they fixed the screen scratching issue, my sister got a New 3DS xl and just after she transferred her old unit's brains onto one screen (I want to say top) was suddenly scratched apropos of nothing. Nintendo hooked her up (she was horrified the whole time everything would be loss), but she's put the padding from the packaging back when closing it everytime since then.

I figure since this unit was intended to be more child friendly the screen would be hardier.

Nintendo did good this year. There's no other way to put it. I went in worried zero in too much on one or two games again (a tactic that makes perfect sense now), but no, they knew this was the time to open the flood gates. They had to do two things right, lots of new titles to chew on, and if you must talk about ones we know about, make it so interest is renewed. AND THEY DID BOTH.

As much as I don't like the light third party support, I think their own IP is still the best weapon they have. NOW if only an outlet I frequent actually had the Switch in stock.

With Switch doing well, EA support was bound to happen. If it ever looses ground, EA will drop them like a bad habit. Shoot, I wouldn't be surprised if they make half-hearted titles doomed to fail so they'd have the excuse.

A NGC Pro controller would be better. From what I've heard d-pad dependent titles feel awful with the left joy con's arrow buttons (or so alien it's strikes you as wrong.)

I would not mind them making Switch a regular port of call for any series they can put on it. I know in terms of raw power to work with, that might not be easy, but the Switch on it's own is a opportunity to build titles for pick-up local play and other features it handles easily.

They mean Nindies can't launch a port on a competing system. Existing ports from forever ago don't count.

Nintendo's not an indie so they can do what they want with Zelda. While I think launching on the lame duck system is stealing some of it's thunder, Wii U's still a viable market since Switch's growth is still strained by supply (and price, but they have to have them to sell first).

This article never should have had to happen. Nintendo has been ridiculously gun-shy about physical stock forever it's a miracle they're not an industry wide joke. Amiibo should've been prevalent, instead we got articles about the struggles to find them. Their NES boxes should've been an easy win, instead we got articles about how stores only got low single digits to sell at a time. This scarcity crap may get people foaming at the mouth in the short term, but pull it for too long and it boomerangs and interest drops off as they find other things to worry about.

Sigh Nintendo always snaps to full attack mode. They must know this is a thing at all because people love their stuff and having goofy fun with their stuff is in no way going to hurt their sales or image.

If anything it'd be cooler of them to offer licensing a sweet price. Then Maricars guests would have a little more fun, and Nintendo would have some say over the use of the actual and to some degree implied use of their IP.

Oh right, their online system. Let's set aside the notion we'd be paying functions our system or extra data on our end used to cover. What would happen if for some reason you're knocked offline? It can happen at home and especially while travelling (I don't know about you're region, but my area is spotty as all get out) Are you just screwed because the system can't find your save?

I hope that's a test build. The character was nicely detailed but the world was so low poly it feels like placeholder content.

Not bad, I guess, but considering it's doing nothing, that's not great. If it hit double digits doing nothing I'd feel better, but energy costs money.

Sincerely hope this model doesn't become a regular thing. It's one thing to be designed for portable use (though the point of the switch was it didn't have to be), but if you weren't inclined for off-TV play it's just forcing a set up. Considering there weren't many that went there on dedicated portables I'm not too worried.

Um, okay. It was never all that hard to make matching sets. We already knew they were selling pairs and singles of both colors.

Well, the Switch has garnered far more attention and interest compared to the Wii U's early days drawing mostly questions. Suggestions they're getting back to appealing to their regular gamers in design and focus will be a huge plus.

I don't mind this stance since the "DS" dynasty and the Switch are delivering separate experiences (for now).

little under 9.5" not too bad. Probably THAT kinda weight that you'd never say is heavy, but you lower arms over time. Fairly longish charging time, considering that's when it's not doing anything.

Yes, and Nintendo has learned a lot about being different. On DS and Wii, they learned how it can be strengths; on 3DS and Wii U they learned how badly it can go if they don't execute well.

I love HORI's solution to table top is an evolution to the 3DS support stand. Ah, there is a stand alone charging dock and it's pretty cheap. Not as nice as including the charging grip from the start but it's a plus.

EA is waaay at the bottom of my list of companies I'd look to have Nintendo's back. Granted the ones on top are more about the eShop.

Disgaea I never followed, assuming it's a "following" kinda series
Bomberman I only "know of". No idea if any good.
