I started using these guys when their second game, Saturday Morning RPG came out on the Vita, and for the longest time I kept buying games from them, mostly Vita but later Switch.
It is short sighted to say "impatient or broke gamers came up with" without seeing the real issue, at start these guys were a great company, but later on that changed a lot.
But I guess explaining that whole story doesn't change much, your comment already gives the vibe of "it doesn't matter what you say, my opinion stays the same", no idea if you could tell that yourself.
A Digimon VN, while it does sound interesting and fresh for that franchise, a good or bad story can make or break a game.
I forsee many people being to lazy to do research beforehand and buy this blind, then complain it is a VN, because they never checked on Google it technically is one.
Reminds me of a different game that had same issue, but luckily with that game it wasn't that big of a issue.
Sorry for me sounding hostile, but damn it would be nice if sites like NL also did show the dark side of companies like LRG (there are more like them) instead of only showing the "good parts"
Just like with MH Amiibos people and stores are going to scalp it, so I rather do not pay 100 euro for the controller just because stores like money so much.
@BionicDodo butn that means 634 clicks and 634 times ads load in.
Seriously considering to put NL on the adblock list if this goes on, just dump the whole book in 1 single big article, instead of these spoilery snippets.
NIS EUROPE (yes Nintendo Life) was publishing Atlus games in the past in EU, but when Sega bought Atlus they took that away from NIS EU and let Deep Silver do it.
A terrible idea, Deep Silver never bothered with limited or collector editions and their Atlus 3DS runs were small and difficult to get, while when NIS EU did it we got collector editions and the games got bigger, easier to get runs.
@Deltarogue they never did, they dumped most of the Atlus games (big titles aside like Persona) to Deep Silver (and their physicals have always had terribly small runs)
@Kirgo less content doesn’t automatically mean less monsters (why do people always assume that)
Less quests and less complex maps if compared to World.
I don’t mind it, this not the first time a new MH game has less content than a previous game in some regards.
(and before someone starts about which game is the best, I didn’t claim World is better, just saying that upfront before someone else gets that idea, because that did happen in the past)
I was one of the first customers there as a Vita fan myself, and they are absolutely not the same company anymore.
To keep it short, no respect for the customer, milking them out and having dollar bills in their eyes a littlebit too much are the main issues with them nowdays.
And they (especially one of the co-founders) can claim what they want, but it’s all lies and no matter what they say, LRG as of now is only in name only, the original LRG is long dead.
I went too long with them, my last order being in 2021 (recently got that) and I sworn to myself to avoid them after that.
And we can all start about others doing same and also lying, but the difference is that most other companies dont claim to be better, they just ignore you telling the truth.
LRG as of now would go as far as removing your comment and going against it with their “story” just to make you look bad to the public… such a shame because they were great in the past.
Thank you Atlus (AND ESPECIALLY CAPCOM) for bringing all those awesome 3DS sales to us in Europe lately!
(I could not be more sarcastic than this)
@DrJoson yeah it's kinda stupid we don't get the same treatment, especially because a lot of Capcom (looking at you MH Stories) and Atlus (everything published by Deep Silver, but also others) physicals are so extremely expensive in EU.
You should have seen how big of a smile I had when I got a new Etrian Odyssey V recently for 45 euro, and even while it has a UGLY and BIG German USK logo, I was nearly in heaven that I could get this game without losing a kidney.
Imagine my partner being jealous because I marry other men or women in such games.
Jokes aside we are both gamers, but I am the anime addict here and my partner even tends to nudge me if something I would love to have gaming or anime wise is on sale.
Same goes the other way around.
But oh well some people ... think their partners are their property, just like my phone which is a thing and not a living being...
Had a good laugh here, because I know a lot of people like this guy, and actually most of them are female.
"No rollback netcode coming for the Switch version"
Not adding the rollback feels lazy but...
with how "good" Switch it's Ethernet is (don't get me started about Wifi) I wonder if it would make as much (read carefully) difference like on PS4 and PC.
I am getting it for single player only so I don't mind.
@Itachi2099 because you get a free story DLC that explains the first game with this.
@JustMonika and I have *all of the ones you mentioned, includes pre-orders (I wonder is Food Girls 2 is more fun than the first one, oh well)
(Not getting Oshirabu on Switch, too expensive for how short it is, and Love Esquire I have on Steam but didn't like it)
And in front of that list, there is a bigger list of otomes (not even counting the up coming ones)
As for the PC story, luckily for a VN even a 10 years old cheapo work station or notebook is enough, I get the point why some people don't have a PC, for my work a PC is mandatory so I had one to begin with.
Also I am not so happy about the Chaos Head release on Switch, Spike Chunsoft is acting weird again and they are censoring that one for no apparent reason, so there is that too.
(I don't mind lack of H scenes in some games because I don't care, but in case of Chaos Head they are cutting content that is gory)
And I already made the blunder with getting If my heart had wings on Switch, that one had cut content too (but so it does on PC, you need a restoration patch for that)
@Tobiaku Mary Skelter is fun (need to get Finale yet), I hope Aquaplus would release Dungeon Travelers 2-2 on Switch someday considering the previous one I did like too.
@Mgalens looking at your reaction, you don't understand what my comment does mean, that's fine because there are more people that don't get it.
If you spend long enough on the internet (don't, I just have too much time that's why) you would know why I said it that way.
My original comment has a sarcastic tone for a reason, it's a simplified version that's all.
"Proving" stuff or "giving a source" is not the point my comment tried to make, I could do that but I learned to stop considering most people can Google it themself, as long you know where to look for.
But again that's not the point of my original comment, if it was it would lack the sarcasm it has would have some links instead.
Sad that they did censor stuff in both games here (I wonder how much they changed/removed from Chaos Child compared to the older release)
Oh well time will tell.
@Vyacheslav333 had to get Steins Gate Elite to get Linear Bound Phenogram (it is bound to purchasing that game on PS4 or PC)
Wasn't planning to play Elite because I prefer the original, this made me play Elite and while I did enjoy it in the end, still the original release is better.
I am actually (carefully positively) surprised by this.
Positively because a burn-in after 3600 hours is solid.
Careful because I have seen enough people use a OLED as a monitor and have burn-in after 5 to 6 months of regular usage (which is much less because 3600 hours = ~150 days non stop 24/7 usage)
On the other side of the road, I do know smartphone AMOLED and OLED screens are more durable but... even there a lot of people have burn-in after a shorter while.
So I feel positive but conflicted about this test.
And it is still their parents fault for not being careful... but.
Aside from companies being too agressive with microtransactions (sadly a fact) if I look at people around me, a lot of services require you to have a CC or a PP account hooked up.
I know that on Steam, Switch and PS4/5 you dont need to (we never let the Switch hook up that, just re-type the credits every time when we purchase something) but a lot of serivce require it or don't make it clear enough you don't need to do that.
So too many people have their CC hooked up and crap like this happens, parents make a mistake, kid makes a mistake (because it does stupid stuff), companies make mistakes (because they do this on purpose) and in this case microtransactions are at fault too.
Conclusion? Everyone in this case was stupid, and this is the outcome yet this will keep going on like it already does.
Dock looks like new, Switch itself has some "I am used and old" marks on the back.
My joy-cons... well I use a Hori Split Pad Pro since a year with no issues, in the previous 4 years I got through 4 analogs on Joy-Cons (my partner also 4) and from those 4, 2 were analog replacements (the last 2) and the first time I got a new joy-con under warranty.
Pro controller holds up fine, but the joy-con their analogs are still trash, first time since the N64 a analog had issues on my end, acutally I dare to call out the Switch analogs being worse than the N64 one because I had to replace the N64 ones 3 times in more than 20 years.
@cs_ZAVVI I don't want to sound rude, but I don't bother anymore.
We were you (customer service) when I sent a dozen of mails?
But now because I complained publicly there is "service"?
Anyhow both happened before the pandemic (2+ years ago) so for my part I prefer to forget about what happened, so instead of "trying to help me because I posted this on a public comment section" (again where was the customer service when I needed them multiple times) fix your customer service, like really fix it because I still read too often how many times it STILL goes wrong at you guys, even few days ago someone I spoke on discord had issues with you guys.
So no I don't need any "help", not after 2+ years.
Sorry for being rude, there is a chance that you (the person behind this account) didn't do anything wrong, but I had to let out my frustation because of this comment to mine, didn't plan too but this triggered it.
From experience, with how poor their customer service is (even worse if you live in a different EU country) I would not buy anything from them at all.
Too high chance of not getting what you want or at all, I still remember how my package was lost but on their end it was "delivered" while it was not, never got money back.
Another time I ordered a shirt, which was showed at NL and got wrong size, could not send it back because their system said "I am wrong".
No thx, don't order there and NL should stop giving them (free??) advertisements.
To start off, even while 99% of the time I play my games on the system they are made on, and I bought them all legally, there are few games emulate, mostly fan translations and my addiction for older Pokémon games I play on my phone.
I don't want to carry around my 3ds all the time, mine is a LE and they are not going to get any easier or cheaper in the future, so I rather use it mostly at home and my phone on the go (Switch aside) because replacing my phone is much easier.
With that out of the way, if emulation is legal also depends where you live, no idea about the US but I hear so many times that "as long you have the game bought and made a copy, it's legal".
Well in my country Nintendo could win against that just because here the law says "you accepted to the terms of not going to make a copy of this game, the end"
People seem to forget the thin line between making a copy of a game, emulating a game on different hardware and (because some do) compare it to other stuff like making a copy of a music CD (which often has its own rules) AND most importantly that every country has their own rules.
I am not against emulating, absolutely not because when I was younger that was what I did all the time, and when I got older that made me buy the stuff I want even more.
But fact it people try to defend it or be against it, forgetting the very thin line.
While I understand it sucks (it really does no reason to skip the Switch)
This game makes more sense to get and play purely for the single player story... which makes it even more stupid we did not get the previous Arena game this one is a direct follow up of.

Re: New Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Weapon Showcases Have 100% More Insect Glaive
Always using Dual Blades myself, but recently tried Insect Glave and I do like it.
For some reason though... it is more fun to use in GU and 4U more than in World and Rise, but maybe that's just me.

Both in my case.

Re: Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Will Have A Gorgeous Switch Pro Controller
I like it but I don't bother getting it.
Just like with MH Amiibos people and stores are going to scalp it, so I rather do not pay 100 euro for the controller just because stores like money so much.
(they only do this with LE ones though)

Re: Digital Foundry Explores Whether 'Impossible Port' WRC 10 Stays On Track On Switch
I have seen worse.
But I remember playing these on my Vita, 3rd and 4th game had a different dev and had amazing (for such a small dev) graphics on the Vita.
Then the 5th (and last on Vita) game came out and the graphics looked worse than PS1...
The problem is the dev themself, so I doubt the games will ever look good enough on the Switch.
Re: Capcom Slashes Prices Of Games On 3DS & Switch eShop For Golden Week (North America)
@majinx07 Same, I am still holding off my hands from that "fair priced" (considering the circumstances) sealed new copy of it for 90 euro nearby me.
But the eshop price is a tad to high for me, because I know how "killing online stuff" does work with Nintendo.
I do have the game on Android, runs and plays great, but I do want to have the OG experience, which is on the 3DS.
Re: Capcom Slashes Prices Of Games On 3DS & Switch eShop For Golden Week (North America)
So another 3DS Capcom sale that is going to skip EU
Noted....
Re: Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D Physical Prices Jump As eShop Closure Looms
Played it on 3ds, later on Vita.
3ds one is a very impressive port but… if I had to pick, the Vita one has much more stable performance.
However none is perfect though, unless on PS3 but that is not a handheld.

Re: Capcom Confirms Next Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak 'News Reveal' For May
@MrPavoPeacock I don't think Sunbreak will have as much content Iceborne had (just like Rise has less content than Generations and World)
But I can safely say it is worth the price, Iceborne had insane value for it's price for example.

Re: No More Heroes 3 Is No Longer A Switch Exclusive
It will at least look and run much better on those systems than on Switch, because jeez this was a shoddy job at best, even for a timed exclusive.
Doesn’t change the fact that the third game was mediocre (sadly)
Re: You Need To Buy DLC To Play Otome 'Taisho x Alice All In One' In English On Switch
@groo1999 from what I remember DLCs are region locked.
So for a EU DLC, the game must be from EU and not US, Japan and so on.
Same goes for a US eshop DLC and Japan eshop DLC to my knowledge.

Ah yes that one and only anime I do not want to watch or see ever again.
People that watched it get the idea why.
@Severian Spike Chunsoft has a history of doing “stupid censorship” for a western localisation.
Stupid in this case means censoring stuff that totally doesn’t make any sense to censor.
I expect the same here, however I will not play the game, so I would have to read what other say afterwards about it.
Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 14.0.0 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

Re: Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Gets A Release Date And New amiibo
@DreamlandGem but a Blu-Ray disc is much cheaper... and bigger
Anyhow not even Asia or Japan are not getting a physical Sunbreak, in all regions only base Rise is physical and Sunbreak digital.
Just checked all official MH websites about it.
Re: Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Gets A Release Date And New amiibo
@DreamlandGem I doubt that, they would need a 32gb cartridge.
Anyhow the stream was fine, but I actually did expect more info than this.
Edit: I did expect the expansion to be a code only, but it is getting even better (see MH Sunbreak website)
"The download code included in the physical version of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is valid until 11:59 p.m. JST June 29, 2024"
So anybody that gets the "physical" set after this date has base gamee Rise only.

Oh well and now this too, 1 table for €14.99.

Re: Steam Deck Nintendo Emulation Videos Are Being Pulled From YouTube
Re: Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Won't Be Getting An Important Online Upgrade On Switch
@Itachi2099 I didn't even knew such DLC existed, strange that nobody ever mentioned it.
Re: Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Pre-Orders Go Live In The US
The double pack will probably follow the same trend it always does over here, which is being €20 extra versus buying the games loose.
Oh well, too early for a pre-order, going to do that at earliest 2 weeks before launch.
Re: Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Twitter Account Teases New Monster Variants
It makes sense some of the new Rise monster will be getting sub species.
Was the same in World and some older games too.
Re: Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Won't Be Getting An Important Online Upgrade On Switch
While I understand it sucks (it really does no reason to skip the Switch)
This game makes more sense to get and play purely for the single player story... which makes it even more stupid we did not get the previous Arena game this one is a direct follow up of.
