It's no secret that the 3DS — along with its console sibling Wii U — is heading toward that bright light at the end of the tunnel. With the handheld's eShop closing within the next year, it's natural that publishers will want to capitalise on this unfortunate eventuality with some rather sweet deals.
It's a nice opportunity for players to grab some titles they may have missed out on, and if you're a fan of Capcom's games in particular, we dare say you'll be eating rather well with its new 3DS sale for the US eShop (sorry, Europe — no word on a similar sale across the pond just yet, although we'll update this article should one appear).
The publisher has heavily discounted some of its biggest 3DS games, with some being the cheapest we've ever seen. Resident Evil: Revelations for $1.99? Yes, please!
Here's the full line-up:
Game | Price |
---|---|
Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney | |
Mega Man Legacy Collection | |
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate | |
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate | |
Monster Hunter Generations | |
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies | |
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice | |
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy | |
Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D | |
Resident Evil Revelations | |
Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition |
It's a pretty generous sale and whether these games will be discounted again prior to March 2023 remains to be seen, so we highly recommend picking up a few of these while you can! If you want to save even more on these great games, make sure to stock up on discounted eShop credit at our store. Just enter code NLIFE10 to get 10% off any of the options below!

Here's to hoping (mainly for my wallet) that Nintendo and other major publishers will do the same for the Virtual Consoles in the coming months.
Fingers crossed Europe follows suit.
Even if you have it already on other systems, I highly recommend Resident Evil Revelations. It had some of the best uses of 3D for a third party game. Very atmospheric on the little handheld.
I’ll grab a couple of these once the sale arrives in Europe
I’m waiting on the inevitable atlus sale though!
That Mega Man collection is tempting... would anyone recommend it?
Kind of considering Apollo Justice and the other two Ace Attorneys that aren't in the trilogy. They'll probably be rereleased somewhere at some point (I'm kind of hoping for a 2nd compilation) but as I understand at the moment they aren't available anywhere outside the 3DS. at 15 bucks total it isn't too bad.
I've been wanting to try a Phoenix Wright game. Which one would everyone recommend out of the ones listed?
@Leuke I'd recommend it so long as you keep in mind that these Mega Man games can be quite tough! But they're all great games in there.
You can now get all 3 mainline 3DS AA games for less than what Apollo Justice was on it's own. Wowzers.
@Leuke it’s a very good collection, but it’s also on the switch and frequently on sale.
RE Revelations was awesome on 3ds. Great game and for 2$!? Get it!
Learn something, Nintendo. To compensate for your shop's closure... or to not close it.
So weird to panic buy things a year in advanced...at least people buying anti radiation tablets have a good reason to do so.
I'm not really into monster hunter but at those prices I can have them as backup games.
I’ve never played a monster hunter game before rise, but I absolutely loved it, would 4 ultimate be worth it for me at this price?
@Leuke
Megaman 5 on the 3ds collection has horrible glitching that is fixed on the switch collection and on virtual console.
@Ravio18 I bought it full-priced at launch (more expensive than the previous price that is listed in here). It's a great game and it looks very good. My only complaint is the 3DS resolution for this kind of ambitious games but that's not Capcom's fault. It's one of the games that plays and runs better on New Nintendo 3DS with smoother graphics and right analogue nub.
Already have downloaded ,or have already played, the ones on there that I want which is the vast majority. Some stellar gaming.
Atlas, Square, I am waiting for you!
Bah Capcom, again with this US only BS on the 3DS?
@icomma Thanks!
@Rayquaza2510 It should come to Europe some time later.
Wow! This is awesome news. I'm getting MM and RE for sure. I thought the demo for Revelations was really interesting. I could play it on PS4 or PC, but I'd actually rather play it on 3DS because it's so interesting.
@Ravio18 100% yes! It's a fantastic game 🙌
@Ravio18 Absolutely!! Very good 3d effect, probably the best story Mode on any monster Hunter, still active online players. Top class if you want to dive deeper on monster Hunter series. You can't miss it!
@Leuke A regular NES Mega Man VC Game costs 5 dollars. Here you got all 6 for 5 dollars, and some bonuses too. Can't say anything about the glitches that GameOtaku talked about, I haven't played the game myself.
If you can't afford it right now though, Capcom has been discounting this title down to 5.99 for years, so it likely is not the last time the game will go on sale before the eShop closes.
It's very nice of Capcom to do this. 😁
Never been a better time to jump into Ace Attorney! If you haven't given it a go yet, best get on that Trilogy ASAP
Amazing! I want them all!!!
3DS isn't region free...
What about Monster Hunter Stories Capcom, near impossible to find a physical copy at a good price these days.
I do hope it comes to europe. Even though I have everything that I wanted from the list above.
Still waiting for a list of most essential virtual console games to buy for both systems...
Come on Ace Attorney sale in Europe!
No discount on Monster Hunter Stories is a huge disappointment 😒
Looks like most of Capcoms WiiU offerings are also on sale.
@delt75 I mean, the original trilogy is a great place to start, but they're also on the Switch. Apollo, DD and SoJ are on mobile as well, but those prices... they're really solid.
@Ravio18 4U is amazing but I personally would stick with Rise, especially with the expansion coming in a couple of months
I wonder if any of the fire emblem dlc will ever go on sale? Or the mario & Luigi games? That's all I'd be interested in. I already bought everything else I'd be interested in (unless there's obscure stuff that i didn't know I'd like, but it's likely not in 3D, in which case I'm not interested).
It would've been helpful to say when the sale ends. (3/27)
Darn it just bought Spirit of Justice on the UK eShop for £25. Well, £22.50 as I used Nintendo Life’s discount code, thanks! 😀
I hope this sales comes to Europe. While I missed out on the above, I’d probably buy the Trilogy and Apollo Justice at these prices, even though I have the original DS games.
@Friendly atlus had sales back in january or december i think. But i also hope for a bigger one in europe in the comming months.
@Jimmy_G_Buckets Yeah probably, but it's 5 bucks man. If it's a possibility to want to play mh4u in the future you will miss it for Good.Just buy it for the backlog list. Many hunters begin with Mhrise, since then became big funs with the series and wanted to dive deeper with Mh3u and mh4u. This is my opinion of course.
