Re: Popular YouTube Channel 'Did You Know Gaming' Receives Copyright Strike For Heroes Of Hyrule Video

Rayquaza2510

But guys, NINTENDO DOES LOVE THEIR FANS!

only the ones that buy their games and keep their love for nintendo exclusively in their own head, and absolutely not share it to the world.

I like Nintendo a lot, but stuff like this feels like being stabbed with a knife, it is so unnecessary to do, even if you want to protect your IP.

Stuff like this makes me miss the Iwata era even more.

Re: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Version 1.1.0 Announced, Nintendo Apologises For Performance Issues & Bugs

Rayquaza2510

I am kind of shocked how easily people stop caring about issues just because Nintendo apologised.

The patches will fix some stuff but mostly “it will patch up stuff and not fix it”, I mean it is fun and all that “they care enough to patch (not truly fix) a game that people did pay a full price for”

But this game would require a rebuild from the ground up to fix it.

I gave up on it and moved on about the issues the game had, my mistake for thinking it “wouldn’t be that bad”.

(I did finish it too, I wish the story was better or at least on the level of the postgame because that felt like a entirely different team made it, it is good while everything before is “meh”)

But dang people are easy…

@Ralizah true

Re: Frustrated Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Players Are Reportedly Getting Refunds

Rayquaza2510

For people that didn’t have any issues, be happy.

I know a lot of people with issues, some even beyond terrible, but I also know 2 people that had zero issues at all and finished the game.

So good for them, they were able to enjoy the game.

My biggest issues however is not the bugs and poor performance of the game, but the apologists that claim “I have no issues so there are no issues so this all is overblown”

To them I say “get out of your bubble please”

Anyhow console makers should change their rules as to digital refunds, on PC and even Android being easily able to refund a game is much easier.

My copies where physical but I keep them to remind me of this mistake next time.

(Also me and my partner both finished our copies somehow)

Re: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Is The "Biggest" Launch Ever For A Video Game In Japan

Rayquaza2510

@somnambulance "The criticisms are overblown, in my opinion. I’ve beaten the game, loved it, and had no game-breaking bugs my entire playthrough. There were some frame rate drops, juddery animations, and pop-in"

So because you had a good experience the critisism is overblown.

Noted.

Me, my partner and multiple of my friends have a ton of issues with the game, but on the other side of the coin there are 2 friends that didn't encounter ANY bug and finished the game.

Get my point? What you technically say is "I have no issue so people are overeacting".

anyhow

" I recommend experiencing the title for yourself, so you can make an opinion from actually feeling the game out."

I finished the game (otherwise I would not complain), and if anything the story is the most mediocre one since PKMN Platinum (remakes not counted)

Because while I love Hoenn and Sinnoh games the most, they have poor story compared to Black (2) and White (2) or even Sun and Moon.

And I at least dare to say that, without trying to justify that the games I LIKE (Hoenn and Sinnoh based ones), are having a good story because they don't have a good story.

The only part of Scarlet and Violet that has a solid story is the postgame after the league, which made me angry how good that is compared to how mediocre the rest was.

And that is the only positive thing I can say about S&V, even if I try to pull some nonsense reason to justify stuff, there is nothing to justify unless I close my eyes and ignore all the problems.

I even have more positive stuff to say about the Let's Go games and the original Red/Blue/Yellow, and those are the Pokémon games I never really liked, they are on the bottom on my list for a reason (but still not hating them, because I don't like them, that doesn't make them bad)

Even if I justify the story of S&V, the lack of stuff the older games had, and forget about the fact 95% of the buldings you can not enter and in the 5% you can it is mostly a menu.

The performance issues and bugs are just too large to ignore... even if you didn't have them, which is good, be happy, but you sound like a friend of mine that had zero issues with Cyberpunk 2077 at release and called all the problems with performance and bugs "overblown" just like you.

Be happy you did not encounter them and that you had a good experience, but don't ignore the issues.

Because ignoring them is a free ticket for Gamefreak to ignore them now and in the next games, because "people will defend it and people will buy it anyhow".

But that is my opinion, you liked them so that's great, you had no issues, so that is great too.

But I am at least not blindly ignoring the issues, nor I am hating the game because I had a crappy experience.

If anything I blame GF and PKMN Company for this mess.

But I am not trying to change the facts either.

Said enough, saying more is a waste of time because there will be enough people that will try to defend these games anyhow, and this is not the first time either and Pokémon is not the only franchise with that issue.

Re: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Is The "Biggest" Launch Ever For A Video Game In Japan

Rayquaza2510

@somnambulance no

There is a huge difference between selling good and being good, Pokémon could become much more buggy with even less content in the next game, and it still would sell millions.

Because Pokémon, and some other franchises work the same way where they sell because of their name, and not because they are good.

There are a ton of much better games out there that didn’t even reach the 1 million mark while being multiplatform.

Being good doesn’t mean selling well

And having millions of sales doesn't mean a game is good.

And the worst part is, big franchises selling millions even if they have mediocre content, gives the makers of the game a excuse to not care anymore, because it will sell anyhow they conclude.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Pokémon Scarlet And Violet

Rayquaza2510

@spottedleaf my comment also said I don’t mind older games that ran at poor fps.

Let’s keep it simple, the Switch has plenty of power to run Pokémon games at 30fps, yet this one does run at 20 to 25fps most of the time, with poor framepacing, dynamic resolution between 720p to 1080p DOCKED, and with graphics that bad I don’t even bother coming up with a excuse to justify them.

At the same time previous Pokémon Switch games did not have these issues.

I did play Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, a locked 20fps PSP game with proper framepacing that pushed the PSP to it’s limits and I was fine with that.

Same with 007 and OoT on N64, they pushed the system to the limit.

This is unacceptable at 20 fps because of the mess it is.

And uplayable because the framerate and framepacing is so terrible, I feel nauseous playing it, something that only one other game did to me in the past.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Pokémon Scarlet And Violet

Rayquaza2510

Well deserved criticism, the game truly deserves the constructive rant.

It is a mess, and I just went back to Arceus to mess around there, instead of getting headache (like really a nauseous one) from the terrible performance Violet is causing me (second time in my life a game does such a thing)

I want to like it… but gamefreak truly gives me ZERO reason for it, I don’t even believe they can fix this mess so at least make the next Pokémon truly good… WHITH BUILDINGS YOU CAN ALL ENTER.

Not only do the fans like me deserve better, ANYBODY buying this does deserve better.

@westman98 I would not mind going back to the old formula that does work, not all games need to be open world.

Because not all fit into that formula.

@JeanPaul that is impossible, Pokémon company demands a new game BEFORE the new anime and merch come out.

Pokemon Company dictates how much time GF had, so they are just as much a issue itself.

@Jhena I don’t consider a 20fps game playable.

And don’t get me wrong, I have play a ton of older games that ran bad and worse (N64 and PS1 games come to mind)

But those ran bad for different reasons, not because like in this case “the dev didn’t have enough time to finish the game, because they went into a open world formula that would not work the way they handled it, while in rush because Pokémon Company demands the game to release at a chosen date and not a day later”

Time and time again it is proven with many other games that rushing is a poor idea, however in this case Gamefreak didn’t even have a choice, yet they did not adjust themself to the time they had.

Above that this looks more like a beta build than a finished game, heck I have seen more complete early access games than this.

(Saying this as a gamer, and a Pokémon fan)

@Thoughts same here for the most part.

But it annoys me more that people defend the games, because the only way to make a change is by not justifying this.

So I forsee the next game will sell even more.

Re: Nintendo Isn't Happy About Switch Game Images On Steam

Rayquaza2510

@Savage_Joe thx for the laugh, at least Pokémon would run better in a emulator than my Switch copy does on my Switch.

But it is sad you need to brute force better performance by trowing more power at it, I agree they should worry more about optimising that game.

But oh well, we can dream.

Re: UK Charts: Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Enjoy The Second Biggest Franchise Launch Of All Time

Rayquaza2510

And this is the main reason Gamefreak is not going to solve issues in the games, PKMN Company is not giving GF more time to properly make the games and thus nothing is going to change (unless getting worse)

Because even if the game looks “okayish” and runs poor and has bugs, it’s Pokémon so it’s going to sell anyhow.

Finished Violet, story was fine-ish (not talking about the other problems I had with the game)

But oh boy the story after the League…. that is so solid I would almost argue someone else made it, the whole game should have been like the post game story.

Story wise not the worst Pokémon game at least, so fine with that.

Anyhow I know I am part of the issue, but let’s be real even if 100k people didn’t buy the game it would still sell like hotcakes.

So sad.

Re: Random: Forget Smash Bros., Masahiro Sakurai Wants To Talk About His Cat

Rayquaza2510

@Byunear she will have a good life anyhow.

But I do agree with you

People breed these because of the ears, and a lot of people consider it cute.

I consider it animal abuse, but I doubt Sakurai knew about this (most people don't)

A different but comparable situation with people mixing most agressive dogs from different races together, because people in my country want "a macho dog"

Yeah...

Re: Review: Pokémon Scarlet And Violet - An Open-World Poké Playground Full Of Promise (And Tech Issues)

Rayquaza2510

@Zenszulu on the 3DS they did push the hardware a littlebit too much.

But on the Switch it is more poor optimisation and not enough time spend to create the game the way it should be (I mean Breath of the Wild looks better hands down, a nearly 6 years old Wii U game that is also open world)

I would dare to say it is them not being competent enough to push the system further, and not the system not being able to handle it.

Because we got so many Switch games that look and run better than this, so in my opinion it is a Gamefreak issue and not a Switch issue.

Re: Review: Pokémon Scarlet And Violet - An Open-World Poké Playground Full Of Promise (And Tech Issues)

Rayquaza2510

My copy comes in tomorrow, but a friend of mine already got his.

Game is FUN, really.

But how the heck did they manage to make the textures EVEN WORSE and the framerate WORSE than in Legend of Arceus, which already is not the most pretty looking or best running game. (I mean Breath of the Wild still looks miles better and that was originally a Wii U game)

I actually wish even more they just stick to Sword and Shield design, not only because of better looking Pokémon models but mostly because the smaller size of Wilde Area made it more fun than the ton of emptyness we got in the current games and Arceus.

Such a shame.

Btw when you are in the big city the issues don't strike you yet as much in the first place in S&V, the moment you get into the wildness that is when the issues start.

Re: Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Details Free Title Update 3, Launching Next Week

Rayquaza2510

@SilverM the problem is not the amount of monsters compared to Iceborne (by that logic, GU it’s amount and variety wins) but the lack of variety.

Before I start, on it’s own Sunbreak is a solid expansion, but all title updates gave us variants only and nothing really new (new means a returning monster that was not in the game at all, not a variant of a monster already in the game)

Iceborne did that better, it mixed variants with returning monsters and even added new gameplay with ones like Safijiva.

Again Sunbreak itself is not at issue here nor is the amount of monsters, but getting variants only is killing the excitement for some, and that in a game that has a setting that begs for returning monsters (some monsters would fit perfectly in the japanese and medival setting of Rise and Sunbreak)

My personal problem is that people that don’t understand it, often but not always refuse to see the issue, they think people hate on the content but that is not it.

As for this update, I LOVE THE HECK OUT OF CHAOTIC GORE MAGALA… but the stuff I mentioned above already killed my excitement enough to not really care, while otherwise I really would have.

Re: Random: Megan Fox Cosplayed As Princess Zelda For Halloween This Year

Rayquaza2510

@Yosher Amsterdam has always been it’s own thing, some tourists even think the whole country is like Amsterdam.

Nope

It would be better if tourists skipped amsterdam, especially the city centre part because the only reason to go there is for weed and stupid souvenirs that have nothing to do with the Netherlands.

But weed is the reason most go there, I just wish all drugs where fully banned (seen to many terrible things because of it)

Sorry for going off topic, starting about drugs brought up some memories of friends in the past (I never did drugs myself, but I did loose many friends because of that terrible crap)

Re: Sega Thinks Its "Super Game" Could Bank Over $600 Million USD

Rayquaza2510

sniff

Yes I recognise that disgusting smell

The smell of annoying gatcha (not all are equal), micro transactions and a pinch of some quickly put together mobile game.

Yes

The terrible smell of a company wanting some quick cash by milking out people.

On a more serious note, more companies do such stuff nowdays, Sega is absolutely not an exception to the rule, but it saddens me when such companies go that route.

Re: Hands On: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet's Performance Distracts From Neat New Features And Flourishes

Rayquaza2510

@DanijoEX well the GBA ones did run at 60fps.

I mean 30fps at 1080p would be fine, at 720p I demand 60fps from a game that looks worse than some upscaled GameCube games.

I know it is not about the graphics, but Arceus proved me that even as someone who doesn’t care about graphics and framerate in Pokémon games, that game just made me angry at how incompetently they made it.

Even if it was fun, there are so many other games on Switch including Nintendo games that do this all so much better.

Re: Review: Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris - One For Forgiving SAO Fans Only

Rayquaza2510

@MARl0 yes and no, because some people will hate a good game just because they dislike a genre (out of experience, I know a scary large amount of people with that logic)

It’s sadly not that easy

I mean this SAO aside, I played it and even as a SAO fan I don’t like it as much, but I did raise a eyebrow for the review mentioning a “long tutorial”.

The reviewer doesn’t have patience or never did play a game with REALLY long tutorial.

Doesn’t change what I said anyhow, there are better SAO games.

@Miu thought the same thing

Re: The Pokémon Diamond And Pearl Remakes Just Won A 'Global Award'

Rayquaza2510

I do understand people their frustation, I liked the remakes enough (more then Arceus) but fact is that BDSP remakes are the most lazy Pokémon ones out there.

Fire Red and Leaf Green added new Pokémon and brand new areas, Heart Gold and Soul Silver added a ton of stuff Kanto was missing in the originals, beautiful graphics, new areas and new Pokémon (list is even longer) and ORAS added new islands, ton of Pokémon and QoL impovements and a post game (that list is also longer)

What did BDSP add? Nothing (not even a different Dex compared to the original), it made the Underground more fun, changed Pal Park because they had to and they called it a day.

It's that DP were solid games on their own, but it was the most bare bones main Pokémon remake ever, even if I still had fun with it.

Rant: in BDSP at night most houses have not lights on on the outside, it looks very off because of that.

Rant over

I do hope the Black and White remakes follow the old formula, I don't want barebone remakes like BDSP anymore.
