Re: Plug In Digital Is The Latest Game Company To Target Cryptocurrencies And NFTs

Rayquaza2510

@zapswitch because you can earn more money even easier (cough lazier cough) as a company this way.

I don't want to start the whole NFT discussion again (got some not fun messages from some people last time) but for me it is simple.

NO NFTS IN GAMES, PERIOD.

NFTs are not meant to be in games to begin with, because every company will only use them to milk out more money.

In other places NFTs are fine in some cases, but that aside.

Re: Microsoft 'Close' To Sacking Senior Dev Who Assaulted 7-Year-Old Son For Refusing To Stop Playing His Switch

Rayquaza2510

@oatmaster You should not hit a child... however I think that in some countries people go a little to far with what you can not do to your child.

My mom did never hit us, punishment was often just dealing with the fact you f-ed it up, because that was the better punishment in most cases.

She was also not the type to scream at us, heck I can count on 1 hand how many times my mom screamed at me in my life (30 years it is)

But is also depends on the child, I have seen enough kids make use of their parents being "too soft" or "too patient", so what she did worked because of how I and my sis were, I have seen enough kids that would mentally destroy such a parent and fully take use of that behaviour to their own benefit.

Anyhow I remember that one time my sister really went too far (long story, but in short that was once in her life moment she wanted to make use of my mom being "too patient")

In the end in the middle of the street my mom just yelled at her that if she doesn't stop, she can forget watching cartoons for 1 week (at her age back then a fitting punishment).

See my sister was screaming and yelling the whole time, in a busy street with a ton of people and no one gave a F about that, but the moment my mom yelled just once everyone looked at her like she was murdering the poor child.

Anyhow bad luck not ending there, the teacher of my sister saw it and my mom was demanded to come to school the next day to talk with the teacher, school psychologist of the school and the principal because they where "worried" about what happened.

And now the best part of all this, parents like my mom get such treatment at the spot, but when there is real abuse of a child, mostly at their home nobody does ANYTHING about it.

I hate my country for that, double standards much.

As for this case, the guy shcould get a fitting punishment which is not going to happen.

Re: This Good Smile Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Nia Figure Can Now Be Pre-Ordered For $259.99

Rayquaza2510

I understand spoilers and stuff, but the game is more than 4 years old by now, most people had the chance to play it.

Because by that logic, we should avoid spoilers for Ocarina of Time too... (in other words avoid the internet, or take the risk)

Not to mention, seeing her alone is not spoilery enough if you don't know anything of the story.

Anyhow the price is not even that bad for her, I have seen more simple figures go for more.

Yet I am not getting her, not a franchise I would buy such figure from to begin with.

Re: 1,000 "Digital-Only" Titles Estimated To Disappear When Nintendo Closes 3DS & Wii U eShop

Rayquaza2510

This will be even worse with the Switch honestly.

See on the 3ds the amount of games that must have a patch is really low (mostly extra content, and in some rare cases fixes for game breaking bugs).

Even on the Vita most games work fine without a patch (from the 250+ Vita games I own, I can only name 11 that really need one).

But on the Switch that would be a really big issue, the moment eShop does close there, and you can't download patches (it's Nintendo guys...) then the amount of games that will have issues because you lack a patch, will become even bigger.

And I am not even starting about these games that are using 8gb cartridges which have to download at least twice of that to work, because the game is not fully on the cartridge, or worse download codes.

Having a physical release then will only work in some cases, a game like Luigi's Mansion 3 or BotW will work fine most of the time, LA Noire, Borderlands, Wolfenstein 2 will not.

But again on 3ds (and Vita) that is less of a issue, those 2 come from a generation where games came out mostly complete and often lacked game breaking bugs.

Switch does not have that luxury.

Mind you this is worse with the PS4, but on the other hand Sony handles re-downloads of games and updates much better, so that is less of a issue on that system (but still the main reason most of our PS4 games are digital, we only buy must haves physically).

As for Wii U... well that depends, but the amount of games that need a patch there is also quite low.

P.S Borderlands collection is a great example on the Switch, I have that game physically and the first game is like half on the cartridge, while the other 2 are a DLC code and together they are way above 30gb in size.

Re: Random: "I'm Able To Trust Sony More Than Nintendo" - Japan Reacts To The Closure Of The Wii U And 3DS eShops

Rayquaza2510

@Jumping_Dead You don't have to wait long for that one.

I get why people complain, but I don't get why people have to defend it, there is no reason to defend it only to or complain or ignore.

I take the second route mostly, instead of complaining I just start getting the missing 3DS exclusives I still want, because the 3DS has a ton of system exclusives, some are already very expensive in EU and the prices will only rise because of this.

@MsJubilee never say never, there is no never because we can't look into the future.

Fact is Microsoft does it much better, that is true but that doesn't mean they will never take a different route.

It reminds me of "Nintendo will never stop censoring games" and "Sony will never censor games" statements from not so long ago (around 8 years back).

And look how those 2 tables turned...

Re: Random: "I'm Able To Trust Sony More Than Nintendo" - Japan Reacts To The Closure Of The Wii U And 3DS eShops

Rayquaza2510

@StarPoint Nintendo claims you can

But they shoot themself in their foot few hours later with the following:

" Due to the discontinuation of the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U eShops, several games will make changes on how they handle DLC in the store. For Fire Emblem: Fates, all 3DS DLC (including maps and Revelation) will no longer appear in the shop after March 2023."

and

"All DLC for Fire Emblem: Fates will disappear from the Nintendo 3DS eShop in late March 2023, so you will need to download it onto your device before then."

So they opened the Pandora box very quickly... (I wonder what other games end up the same way as this one)

I mean I can talk all day what I hate about Sony, same Sony allows to re-download my previously bought PSP games for example, even after that store closed years ago.

Gamer food

Oh well whatever sells, I don't eat while gaming or near my desk but regular food without a fancy name should be the same.

Reminds me of a friend of my sister, he drinks some fancy gamer energy drink to "enchance his performance" while gaming (I guess it was G-Fuel)

Yet I still kick his arse with my 1 can of Monster Energy (which I don't consider "gamer food") and a bunch of tea in games like Borderlands and other PvP games.

That includes Mario Kart 8.

One thing is for sure, I know it exists but in my country you can buy such stuff online only, when you go any other food store out there, they don't even sell such stuff to begin with.

Each to their own I guess, I rather have a good mouse and train my skills, rather than buy G-Fuel (JEEEZ I just checked that price, it's insane) and hope I get better.

Re: YouTube Confirms Copyright Claims On GilvaSunner's Channel Were From Nintendo

Rayquaza2510

Nintendo you are not allowed to put our music online for free

Nintendo fans we will buy it then, here take my money

Nintendo nope, we don't sell it or need your money

Yes Nintendo has the full right to do what they did to that channel.

But it's not like Nintendo is giving people a reason/solution to not do it.

And this from someone who regularly imports game music soundtracks.

Re: Nintendo Says It Won't Compete With Microsoft And Sony In An Acquisitions Arms Race

Rayquaza2510

@johnvboy like expected you read it wrong.

As so many people here do.

Having a opinion is fine, you have yours and I have mine and I am not changing someone their opinion.

But that doesn't change the facts.

That's Internet in a nutshell, and that is how people who are "fine with things the way they are, even if they could (or were) be better" are, just because you or I don't have a problem with a product that has issues, that doesn't mean we should ignore them like they do not exist, that's a free pass for companies to do whatever they want to.

"Happy happy joy joy" is what most people prefer...

And I am waiting till someone starts about voting with you wallet, that makes sense for bad products and that is not the case here, it's about products with issues and that is a whole different topic.

People should be more vocal about issues in products of ALL companies, not just Nintendo.

Anyhow I wasted my time again so I give up, I expect to read more comments later on from people that don't want to understand the issue, and that change what I said into how they see it, which is not the same.

Oh well...

Re: Nintendo President Reiterates That Switch Is "Just In The Middle Of Its Lifecycle"

Rayquaza2510

@RubyDevilNine It is also very simple to ignore issues, it is also very simple to say "oh well it doesn't matter if your opinion is right, you are too negative so you probably doesn't like the Switch"

Thats internet (and starting part of your comment) in a nutshell.

You can like something and have crituque about it, blindly enjoying something that has issues is the wrong thing, enjoying it and admitting it has issues is the better way.

And this from a old PS Vita fan here, if you know enough about that system you would understand what I am talking about.

Also I do have a Switch mind you and enjoy it, even after replacing my joy-cons 3 times (and my partners 4) in the past 5 years, even while aside from the N64 joystick no other system ever broke in my case.

I enjoy the games no matter on what system they are, even if that system has issues, but I am not blindly "happy happy joy joy" saying it doesn't have any issues, every system has it's own issues and ignoring them gives companies a "free card" to not care about fixing them now, or in later revisions.

P.S.

" But don't worry, because Nintendo, as like any company as well, cares for you... but only for your money."

Don't go that route, too many people do and it's silly.

I care as much about these companies as they do about me, and if a product would be a true mess, then I would not buy it.

And now I expect someone to read what I said in their own way, comment on me and still not understand it.

So to those people, please read CAREFULLY, because most people here do not and then blame my comment for being negative and that kind of stuff.

While it's not negative, it's me being realistic. And if you like your Switch or any other system, ignore what I said and don't comment, go play the games you like, something I would do if I read this and didn't read it properly.

Re: Nintendo Says It Won't Compete With Microsoft And Sony In An Acquisitions Arms Race

Rayquaza2510

@johnvboy "Plus Nintendo are not tone deaf just because they refuse to listen to core minority internet forum experts"

That still makes them tone deaf.

Just because most people don't care doesn't mean something is a good idea, I mean the smartphone market is a great example where companies just do what they want, no matter if "the minority" complains, because the other 99% of the people is fine that their headphone jack is gone, their charger too and that they can not expand their internal memory with a dirt cheap microsd, yet their phone is 800 or even 1200 euro.

It is true that no matter what topic we start about, gaming, smartphones or even politics, as long the majority of people do not care and just agree with everything you present to them, things are staying the way they are.

It is not always a good thing to listen to a minority, that is true but Nintendo never does even if they claim otherwise.

And as for the "japanese company" story, without starting a long discussion that on it's own doesn't mean much.

I mean they still make some fun products, but by listening to others they could make great products, and they don't even need to listen to what people trow at them, just look around you Nintendo because some of your stuff could be some much better if you were not as tone deaf.

That is just my simple opinion, but as a Nintendo fan for years, that is one thing that did never change, while other stuff like the meaning of the "Nintendo seal of quality" did over the years for example (just to name 1 thing).

P.S. And before someone else starts about other companies making mistakes, that's not what the discussion is about, it's now about Nintendo.

Re: Nintendo "Has Interest" In NFTs And The 'Metaverse'

Rayquaza2510

starts to laugh

I do hope they don't go that route.

But if they do, it is common knowledge Nintendo does tend to take over the worst parts of bad ideas (if they go the bad idea route to begin with) and use them.

But again let's hope they don't go that route, ever.

(kinda funny that few days ago I had a discussion about this and for some reason I expected Nintendo to do this earlier than Sony, no idea why but I could call it a "based on nothing" feeling of some sort)

Re: Nintendo President Reiterates That Switch Is "Just In The Middle Of Its Lifecycle"

Rayquaza2510

Oof

To keep it short why my reaction is like that, another 3~5 years of Switch in it's current hardware (ram, CPU, GPU) configuration doesn't sound that good idea.

I know for sure a lot of people will say the Switch will be fine, but most of these people don't see the true issue, and I will restrain myself from explaining that, considering a lot of these people with that opinion are often tone deaf anyhow.

Re: Nintendo Says It Won't Compete With Microsoft And Sony In An Acquisitions Arms Race

Rayquaza2510

@johnvboy the question is if the next thing after the Switch is a succes too, Nintendo could always make another mistake because they live in their own made world.

That own made world is like flipping a coin, one side is huge succes like the DS, Wii or Switch, while the other side are huge fails like the VirtualBoy or the Wii U.

As for not buying other devs, with how Nintendo is and acts like a company, buying others doesn't give them any benefit, because they can buy whoever they want but as long Nintendo stays and acts they way they are, buying others doesn't add anything to that.

@Mattock1987 true

But it is a fact that Nintendo was always tone deaf, on more points than gaming only.

Re: Official Pokémon DP Sound Library Shares Entire Diamond And Pearl Soundtrack

Rayquaza2510

@somebread @RedGuy42 makes me think about it... some of my regular japanese cd soundtracks of game music (not only Nintendo games) were like 45 euro excluding import fees and shipping (and some others even more expensive, and another ones cheaper, but still around the 30~35 euro mark without fees and shipping)

This a for a regular 2 CD variant though, sure I am happy to have multiple CD soundtracks with music from games I love, but really it's a goddamn expensive hobby, and streaming is often not even a option so the only 2 left are importing a expensive product like me, or screaming "arrrghhh!!" and going "THAT" route.

And all these companies, including Nintendo are themself the problem, just bring it out because people really want to buy it the normal way (or stream it).

But no...

And as for "some commenter I see very often here", well that person lives in it's own world and own truth, refuses to see the things the way they really are and is the perfect type of consumer most companies want to see (the one that shuts up and accepts anything)

Oh well.

Re: Don't Say It Too Loud, But PS5 Has Outsold Wii U In A Year

Rayquaza2510

@Arisen You can not take PS4 Pro in this case into comparsion.

PS4 Pro is nothing more than a pimped up PS4, and PS4 came out in 2013.

Same with Xbox One X, however Microsoft was less lazy with that than Sony was.

Anyhow again, in my opinion Switch could belong to both gens because it came out in between them (aka PS4/XBO and PS5/XSX)

Revisions don't count because they are precisely that, revisions.

Because by that logic I could start counting from the Switch OLED...

Re: Don't Say It Too Loud, But PS5 Has Outsold Wii U In A Year

Rayquaza2510

@glaemay I mean I have many reasons to complain about Sony.

They are greedy, lazy, they censor games (what Nintendo did too in the past, let's not forget that) unless it's the Last of Us 2... but I would never consider their games mediocre.

Some are excellent, others are okay... but far from mediocre nowdays, unless I am missing something.

I mean I could name many mediocre Nintendo games... but most of the time it is stuff like "another" Mario Party game, while the likes of BotW, Mario 64, Metroid Prime or SMO are their top tier games (for their time, but often after that too)

It's just that Nintendo does release more games, especially spin-offs so that makes the risk of bringing out a "lesser" game bigger.

Re: Don't Say It Too Loud, But PS5 Has Outsold Wii U In A Year

Rayquaza2510

I wonder when NL is going to post a article about the sky being blue...

@Arisen names?

Really I can only name 6 so I wonder which ones I am missing.

I know PS4 had a ton of exclusives, we have a PS4 but in all honesty we only got 5 of them but at least I know the exclusives we dont have on it.

As for Switch, depending on who you ask it belongs to both 8th and 9th generation... I am in the middle about that, just like Switch it's release was.

Re: Best Pokémon Games Of All Time

Rayquaza2510

I could go on for a while why I don't agree with this list, aside from the first spot (I mean even Sword and Shield does belong higher than current spot, and that game was "okay")

I almost finished Legends of Arceus, around less than 20 Pokémon to go for a full dex here, and I like the game really I do and it feels pretty fresh content wise.

But it does not belong in the top 5 let alone the second spot, it has some specific cons preventing it from being that high.

And that is a long and very spoilery story, so maybe in a year or 2 when NL does release such article "again", maybe then I will tell them, because by that point most people had their chance to play and finish that game.

And no graphics are not that reason, I don't count that type of criteria to conclude if a Pokémon game is good or not.

Re: Popular Video Game Music YouTube Channel Receives 1,300 Copyright Claims From Nintendo

Rayquaza2510

@EarthboundBenjy I know someone who is a huge Nintendo fan, but 95% of what he has in music from Nintendo games comes from places like youtube/less legal sources.

He would gladly pay for a (preferably) a CD soundtrack, but they are so hard to come by, and if you finally find them it's import + pricey import fees for us EU buyers (he gets them, I would do the same because I like having it physically).

But even when going digital, near impossible.

But we all knew Nintendo doesn't want out money, we are not allowed to steal their stuff nor buy it (do I really need to explain why this statemant?)

Re: Soapbox: Pokémon Legends: Arceus Raises The Question - How Much Do Janky Graphics Matter?

Rayquaza2510

The game is ugly, the end.

But the game is also fun

I don't mind ugly graphics if a game is fun, but fact is that there are plenty better looking Switch games.

Heck even some PS2 and Wii games, resolution aside look better, so while fun this game does prove once again that Gamefreak needs to stepup their game.

And I know they hired extra people for this game and got help from a different studio, but for the graphics that wasn't enough, it's kinda funny how out of the place good the Pokémon models and their animations look, compared to the whole overworld.

But at least the game is fun, however we can not keep accepting this excuse and ignore the problem here, this is the last Pokémon game where I accept this, they really need to keep up with other Switch 3rd party and Nintendo their own developers.

My end conclusion is "mixed feelings".

Re: Ubisoft: Players "Don't Get" What Makes NFTs So Beneficial

Rayquaza2510

@BloodNinja you are a dingus.

And yes I still did react because this popped up before I left the site.

I keep it simple for you.

I DIDNT SAY THEY CAN NOT HAVE ANY PROFIT

you read it that way

They can have profit, and they don't need microtransactions or NFTs for that.

And well I could explain it, but you don't read anyhow (proved multiple times here, you just refuse) so why bother.

And now I log out immediately and don't visit this site for the rest of the day.

Re: Ubisoft: Players "Don't Get" What Makes NFTs So Beneficial

Rayquaza2510

@BloodNinja "lmfao"

I have heard enough, can't take someone seriously if that is how their sentence does start.

Not to mention I already saw that you refuse to read that answer, and only expect to hear what pleases you, while I don't expect anything not even you wanting to read what I said.

So before I start to sound like a broken record like you already do, I stop reacting to you here and others should too, unless they share your expected answer 100%.

Re: Ubisoft: Players "Don't Get" What Makes NFTs So Beneficial

Rayquaza2510

@Bloodninja you didn't fully read what I said did you...

@inenai the problem is that most if not all of them only care about profit and pleasing shareholders.

It's not anymore about games being fun, it's about hyping it out to a unreasonable level, push different methods to "enhance" the experience with micro transactions and so on.

I understand these companies want money, but instead of wasting millions on stupid PR (because most PR they do is the stupid one, they never bother with positive PR), wasting millions on development (crush aside) for a game that has "paper thin gameplay and story" just to milk it out with loot boxes, useless DLCs (most companies don't do good DLCs anymore), microtransactions and now even NFTs on the horizon.

Really these big game companies are themself at fault here, they spend their money in wrong ways and so the people that still accept this c.r.a.p and buy it.

P.S. I have played multiple games in the past 2 years that didn't do this kind of stuff so aggressively and yet made profit.

So it is possible, but the big boys at EA, Ubisoft, Take-Two and so on prefer not to.

Re: Ubisoft: Players "Don't Get" What Makes NFTs So Beneficial

Rayquaza2510

@BloodNinja NFTs on its own are not particularly bad.

But they way these companies use them is bad, the method is thus the problem, not the product.

In a ideal world NFT in games could (read carefully) be a good thing, but that's not the reason for this push, it is to earn more and more money, and not because it is meant as a good thing for the gamers like Ubisoft claims.

Re: Ubisoft: Players "Don't Get" What Makes NFTs So Beneficial

Rayquaza2510

I don't get NFTs you say Ubisoft?

Maybe that's why the last time I did play your games was before they contained aggressive micro transactions (let alone NFT) and when the games were actually good

All these companies wasting millions on games that are crap, yet back in the day with smaller budgets these companies made more often good games.

Yeah they do it themself.

Re: Crysis 4 Is In Development But "Will Be A While Yet"

Rayquaza2510

Crysis 4 is few years away, by the time Switch is replaced by something new.

And even if the Switch is around, this game will put PS5 and XSX to their knees, so this would never work natively on the Switch.

And if someone starts about the other games, check when their original versions came out, and check how poor their performance was on stuff like PS3 and X360, current versions are more optimised, and tailored to the Switch.
