@steventonysmith still a poor excuse in my opinion.
No matter if a game has "light hearted" story about war or "you murder and shoot other people in cold blood dead, because fun and giggles"
If you postpone the first one you should do the same with the second, war is war and the reason Advanced Wars was postponed is due to war in Ukraine, totally fine by me but in that case any game with war elements in it, no matter if serious or not should be postponed.
rant moment
I had a good discussion with a friend about this few weeks ago, and while I can wait for the game he doesn't think this way.
The first thing he said "and why is war in ukraine suddenly a problem but the war in Syria or the Middle East was fine to release war games?"
Double standards he said, and I get his point even while I don't fully share it, it is true that the only reason people and the world care about this war is because it's in "the backyard of Europe" and not some far away place in Asia (or Africa) "nobody gives a **** about"
And this dicusssion could become even more grime (and off topic) if I start about how most EU countries treat war victim refugees from Syria and how they treat the ones from Ukraine.
Double standards again
Same friend had a great suggestion to just stop making war and FPS games, because considering there is always a war somewhere, we should have empathy with those people.
Yet we do not
Unless this crap happens in "the backyard" of EU or the US.
rant moment over
And while I do not fully share his opinion, I do fully understand where he is coming from.
So no there is ZERO reason and absolutely NO excuse to treat Advance Wars different than CoD or Battlefield.
No matter that the one is serious and the other is not, there are other not serious games coming out this year with war like elements and they are not postponed.
But maybe that is due to them not containing tanks
Or companies just not caring.

@steventonysmith if this game took place in Ukraine that would have made sense.
I can wait, no rush but I forsee a new CoD or Battlefield release before this, and nobody will care with those about stuff like empathy or war (and it would make much more sense to postpone that type of games)
Just saying, me being patient and accepting this doesn’t mean it makes sense to begin with.
@steely_pete if anything, p**n is worse than this.
And maybe because me being a female is the reason I dislike p**n (not the people watching it, just the medium itself), but in all honesty even after playing some VNs with H scenes in it (which I tend to skip, or not download a patch for because in 99% of the cases I don't care).
I think p**n can be much more "agressive" (without going too much into detail how and why) than 99% of these games will ever be.
And I have sadly seen too much classmates watch it in the classroom (often when the teacher was gone), because I was that one girl that liked computers and went into IT.
@Kienda "It’s better someone lives out a fantasy (especially a weird one) in a video game than in real life. There is no correlation between people playing these games and then acting them out in real life."
So many people forget that, I mean by the logic of "you play/see this, then do it in real" I don't want to imagine what I should be like after playing games like Pokémon (let's capture poor animals and force them to do what I want), Doom (kill everything that moves), and all the movies I did watch (that list is very long)
But I do think, or more I worry these "games" could cause Nintendo to raise a eyebrow and be more strict, even to games that did not deserve it, but that would get punished because of this game causing too much stir.
And I mean console wise Sony already went back to the dark side sadly...
@nessisonett not to defend this "game" (not my style, looks crappy and I prefer different type of anime games, but I have nothing against people that like this, each to their own)
With that disclaimer out of the way, you do know that we in the west have same if not worse stuff like this?
Just not in form of a game.
I understand your concern, but the way you put it does sound like a lot of western people that totally forget we (aka the west) are not better at all.
Just saying, you don't need to agree with this from your perspective, but I look at it from a distance and see both (japan and the west in this case) at the same time.

Yeah if the heatwave comes to my country our appartement will again go up to 36C degrees inside...
Airco is a not a option (nope this ain't the US) and opening windows cools it down, otherwise it would be even hotter.
Anyhow as for the Switch, played it few years ago at such heat, it depends what you play on how hot it gets, but in a good ventilated spot like mine is, it could be fine.
I worry more about my phone, more power hungry ones don't like thid heat more than the Switch (which at least has a fan)
And then there is my PC... open airflow case does wonders, but I think I need my "summer fan profile" again when heat comes here.
Gotta love climate change huh, even 10 years ago heatwaves were a rarity in my country, meanwhile in the past 5 years (not counting 2022) we had 4 years of them.
(not that I complain, 36 degrees inside is nothing comared to how it gets in other countries nowdays)
I keep my Japanese pre-order anyhow, zero trust in Aniplex releasing a physical over here.
(for people that don't know, 99% of the time Aniplex acts like Europe doesn't even exist)
@CowCatcher There are some VNs with wonky translations indeed, but the more known titles don't have that issue.
But again I understand, I played a ton of VNs on PC and there is a ton of those there translated by some chinese company with Google translate, but they are easy to recognise.
Some of them did come to the Switch too, I tend to avoid them for multiple reasons, mostly the translation but also most of the chinese translated ones tend to be crap story wise anyhow.
@TowaHerschel7 for some reason I didn’t realise I was @-ing myself.
As for Fatal Bullet on Switch, I think the resolution especially in handheld got a too big hit, but it is true the framerate is fine.
Hollow Realization on Vita does indeed look visibly worse than Switch, framerate is better too on the latter but the game has it’s usual easy to trigger framerate dips (I assume engine issues, even on PC you can trigger them)
@Rayquaza2510 that is because Lost Song and Hollow Fragment were PS3 and a PSP port for the latter.
Hollow Realization and Accel World were PS4 ports, and sadly any PS4 3D game on Vita had performance issues, while native or older system ports ran mostly fine.
Another issue was that Accel World was a worse port than Hollow Realization to begin with.
@Scrubicius it mostly depends who you know, I know a lot of Switch users, but most of them only buy Nintendo games or Pokémon, and indie games on their Switch.
I mean same people that play Sunbreak on PC, if they have a Switch did play Generations Ultimate, and even if that one had a PC port most of them would still get it in the Switch, because that game has less reasons to be played on PC.
@Rika_Yoshitake you only totally forget those game are lighter to run too.
I can run any SAO game at locked 120fps on my desktop with max settings, when Alicization Lyroris came out I had to LOWER the settings to get anything above 30fps.
They fixed most of the issues, but even now getting 60fps means I still have to fiddle around with the settings, they tried a newer engine this time and failed hard at it, so I have my doubts if this game will even run at acceptable framerate, graphical settings and resolution on the Switch.
Because even on the PS4 it was a hot mess.
As for the game, it is fun but only for the fans.
For new commers I would say Fatal Bullet and Hollow Realization make more sense.
@Palico82 same, I remember playing Hollow Realization on the Vita, finished it and all the DLC back then and it was a blast.
Busy with replaying it on PC and it is still fun, just more smooth now.
The only one I never finished on the Vita was the Accel World one, had to play it on PC because on the Vita the poor performance was a littlebit too much.
Hollow Realization has weaker performance too on the Vita, but it has no flying so I can live with that, Accel World got too frustrating for me because of framerate and flying, Lost Song was better on that regard.
Going to get the game without the pass, too many subscptions lately.
I know some people (with and without kids) that waste more than €150 euro each month because of subscptions, and because a ton of stuff pushes that instead of "one price".
And in case of Netflix, Game Pass or Spotify I understand that, but there are so many other services where it doesn't make any sense, it only drives up your monthly cost.
In my case it is not that high, but even here with Spotify, Crunchyroll and few other stuff I already sit at around €40 a month myself.

For people wondering, it is game on cartridge and sunbreak as a code in all regions.
I am not getting it on the Switch, played Rise on Switch but 90% of people I know that are going to play it do it on PC, so went that route instead for Sunbreak.
Dit order the controller though, wanted a extra Pro Controller so this is a fine buy.
As for the Amiibo, just like with Rise most places sell it at inflated prices here.
@SteamEngenius even while I prefer android, damn your fanboyism level is just unhealthy, not to mention the lies you just said and the fact you give a bad image of android users.
If anything Apple at least gives your long OS support
And if anything, it’s all the cheapo chinese brands that killed most good ones that keep on bringing out “new phones” (mostly same with a different name) each month at least.
So please think twice before posting such stuff, you give android users a bad taste.
I did have a smartwatch for a while, but I feel my phone vibrate anyhow, and I don’t use health apps so I got a regular watch to wear from a anime I like.
But each to their own, this “app” on Switch getting DLC proves putting shovelware on the Switch is still way too easy.
Fans make this out of love, Nintendo on the other side is sitting there with a baseball bat waiting to make minced meat out of them for creating any type of fan projects, projects made out of love for the creations Nintendo makes.
“But please keep buying out games!” will Nintendo say after the beatup….
Love our stuff they said Beat you up for doing so, yet expect you to still do it.
If not then I slowely leave you alone in that bubble and walk away, healthier for me but also spares me time to explain something to someone that refuses to understand it.
P.S. don't go the cheapskate route of "you just complain" because I do not (and didn't do it in my previous comment), I hear that many times from people that lack any better argument for their own claims.
Anyhow unless sarcasm, I walk away from this discussion for the reason I just mentioned.
@JustMonika I fully agree with supporting one man projects, but not every one man project is the same.
This game falls under the "think twice about support" project, there are many better one man projects out there than this, because creating a good game is a difficult thing, especially if doing it alone, but creating a "meh" game and slapping some insane graphics on top (this game looks great with Ray Tracing on PC) is another, that is many times easier.
The first game was more of a tech demo, the dev promised the next game (this is that next game) to be a full game yet that too is mostly a tech demo, nothing wrong there but the game lacks in content a lot, it is purely graphics above all.
And yes that 1,5 hour was a fine time waster... but for €16,79 the game does cost (game was gifted to me) I have my doubts it is even worth that amount, and I am sure that on consoles the price will be higher too.
I give this dev another chance when the 3rd game comes out, but if that is again another "€16,79 for a 1,5 hour long tech demo" then I would advice people to not get it, unless on heavy sale.
On a huge sale for under €5 then sure get it, but the game also doesn't have any replay value some other short games DO HAVE, so after that 1,5 hour you are really done.
@Anachronism A lot of fun games I know and like are also under 1 hour, but they often have replay value the previous Bright Memory and this newer one lack.
This game mostly exist for it's graphics (on PC) and not really for the story, as of today with all the tools available anybody can create a amazing looking game or a mod, even alone.
But creating a good game, and if short one with replay value is a different story.
And the 2 Bright Memory games fail on that regard, and like I said above in this comment a good game can certainly be made by one person, but this is not that kind of game and not every game deserves to be supported just because "one person made it".
@TheMelodiusRose 2015 chip, in all honesty it is weak as of now even as a portable.
And in 2017 it was fine as a portable, but weak as a home console.
Don't get me wrong, I prefer handhelds and don't care as much about graphics on them, VIta, Switch, 3DS, heck even GameBoy for me it is about the games.
But I am not going to deny that the Switch is weak.
Sent Mario Strikers back, got it 2 days early from my local store but... I am not a multiplayer person, and the game lacks anything interesting for single player, even FIFA (which I hate) has more single player content.
I am stupified, because I was super excited for this game.
So Xenoblade 3 it is then, have to wait a littlebit longer for that, skipping FE Warriors though because Koei Tecmo again didn't lock the framerate to the stutters feel poor (tried the demo).
@moodycat aside from kulve taroth (did it alone, with wrong gear at the time) and Alatreon (because I refuse to use ranged weapons)
World and Iceborne were easy enough.
As for Rise, I went through that even faster, at some point I started to think I was the issue.
Maybe, maybe not, but my ass got kicked when I did G rank in GU and restarting 4U made me remember that too.
It's not that the new games are bad, they are fun (however I didn't like Rise as much, let's hope Sunbreak fixes that)
But the new games give plenty of options to make the game easier, however ik Rise it felt more forced than in World (but even that game has it's own issues too)
But I am excited anyhow, MH games are still solid for me.
There are so many ways to provide the music of their franchises legally AND earn money.
Yet they rather spend money (because getting after these people that provide their music, it surely does cost some amount of money though) on taking down the stuff people want to be able to listen to, and most of them would even pay for.
@SteamEngenius with how easy 3ds emulation runs nowdays (even my phone can do it no issues) I would almost argue if emulating it on a Steam Deck or a phone + controller is not a viable option too.
Because those devices are easier to replace in the long run, myself I stopped having my 3ds (and PS Vita) with me on the go due to that.
And no matter what anybody claims, that could happen any moment starting from that date, and only someone naive would believe that is not going to happen at some point (because to be able to download updates, those old servers need to stay up and that from experience with servers overall is NOT free by any means)
It is so stupid that people in the US, even as of now can buy brand new original batteries from Nintendo for their 3DS systems, but we in EU are stuck with 3rd party solutions that just don't work like they claim.
@SteamEngenius I fully agree on the sales part, sales on Nintendo systems in the past did suck but the Switch changed that.
I have a 512GB memory card for a reason, but some games like good JRPGs, VNs or Nintendo titles I prefer to have physically.
But a game like Xcom 2 I got digitally, not only because it was like 90% off a while ago, but also because I don't need that game physically anyhow (aside from the fact it is not fully ont he cartridge)
@Silly_G from what I remember the problem is also how much Nintendo wants for the cartridge.
Because by normal standards, after so many years they should be much more cheaper.
Another even bigger issue are the other 90% of the people that don’t care and buy digital, I prefer physical games myself but most people nowdays don’t care as much about that.
That last thing keeps giving these companies a excuse sadly…
Oddly enough my rarest game is on the 3ds, Senran Kagura 2 Deep Crimson EU.
But I just recently replayed it, knowing full well how rare and expensive it is (aka I don't care)
As for my other rare games that are less rare than that one, plenty of Vita games I played through the years, games I had sealed and that were worth a pretty penny because of that, but which I took the seal off because I got them to play them.
But then I got a PS Vita, and that device made me buy a ton of games I would never ever buy before owning one.
And thus the Vita made me change how I view games, my "comfort zone" went into the trash bin and I play a ton of different games due to it.
I even got new favorite games because of it, like the Grisaia tirlogy, Utawarerumono, Legend of Heroes games, Persona (yes before owning a Vita I never cared about that franchise) or even Xenoblade games.
(that list is even longer in the end)
But... that's me, and I am not saying everyone should be like this, I also don't expect everyone to like every game, but I do see a lot of people just act like a sheep and stay close minded.
I still remember how a online friend called Persona 4 Golden and Utawarerumono games "flithy japanese hentai" because oh well, anything japan is "hentai".
Heck I even know few people that refuse to admit Zelda, Metroid, Mario or even Pokémon are Japanese, because "anything japan is for perverts and is hentai".
Oh well... because western games are "holy" and don't have their own strange issues.

@SigmaNoire free tip
Sex scenes are a 100% no go on consoles.
So for people that avoid them, consoles are safe.
As for PC, often you need a patch because games sold and Steam and so on don't have them most of the time to begin with.

@Olympia if this would run on the Switch, then Tales of Arise could technically too.
Tales of Arise is a heavy game, but at least good optimised from day one.
However... Alicization Lycoris is much heavier than Fatal Bullet, and that game already had some hefty resolution penalty on the Switch.

I mean same people that play Sunbreak on PC, if they have a Switch did play Generations Ultimate, and even if that one had a PC port most of them would still get it in the Switch, because that game has less reasons to be played on PC.
Re: Scalpers Set Their Sights On Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Special Edition
Luckily I only wanted the regular one, because it wasn't just as exciting of a edition like the CE of Xenoblade Definitive
But still it sucks, these people are just d***s.
Re: Australian Retailer Potentially Leaks Switch Port Of Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris
Re: Nintendo Direct Mini To Air Tomorrow, June 28
@anoyonmus Eww no cloud edition please (original was a PS3 game, Royal uses same engine)
As for the dancing games, release them all or at least the 4th one, that one was the most solid.
Re: Nintendo Direct Mini To Air Tomorrow, June 28
Well if they do not announce Persona (in my case 5 Royal) then my choice is simple, PC on Steam.
Re: No Man's Sky Will Launch As A "Single-Player Experience" On Switch
I played the MP on PC, not having it on Switch is not a huge loss to begin with.
The game is a excellent time waster without it.
Re: Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival Arrives On Nintendo Switch This September

Re: Where To Buy Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Collector's Edition, Pro Controller And amiibo
Re: PSA: Nintendo's Switch Online Mobile App Is Dropping Support For Older Apple iOS
Re: It's Time To Throw Hands: AAA Clock Is Getting Five New DLC Clocks
wears a regular, but limited edition watch
I did have a smartwatch for a while, but I feel my phone vibrate anyhow, and I don’t use health apps so I got a regular watch to wear from a anime I like.
But each to their own, this “app” on Switch getting DLC proves putting shovelware on the Switch is still way too easy.
Re: YouTuber Ends Metroid Prime Music Covers After Nintendo's Lawyers Call
So fan made creations are not safe either.
Fans make this out of love, Nintendo on the other side is sitting there with a baseball bat waiting to make minced meat out of them for creating any type of fan projects, projects made out of love for the creations Nintendo makes.
“But please keep buying out games!” will Nintendo say after the beatup….
Love our stuff they said
Beat you up for doing so, yet expect you to still do it.
Lovely, this really hurts me as a Nintendo fan.

Re: Feature: Temtem Dev On The Difficulties Of Bringing The Pokémon Rival To Switch
@TheMelodiusRose Is this sarcasm?
If yes then ok
If not then I slowely leave you alone in that bubble and walk away, healthier for me but also spares me time to explain something to someone that refuses to understand it.
P.S. don't go the cheapskate route of "you just complain" because I do not (and didn't do it in my previous comment), I hear that many times from people that lack any better argument for their own claims.
Anyhow unless sarcasm, I walk away from this discussion for the reason I just mentioned.
Re: "Lightning-Fast" Action-FPS Bright Memory: Infinite Is Coming To Nintendo Switch
Re: Feature: Temtem Dev On The Difficulties Of Bringing The Pokémon Rival To Switch
Re: "Lightning-Fast" Action-FPS Bright Memory: Infinite Is Coming To Nintendo Switch
DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.
This and the previous game are on PC all graphics and super little gameplay, you can casually finish both games in 4 hours if you suck at FPS games.
That is roughly 2 hour per game and this is 1 of the 2 games.
Re: Feature: Temtem Dev On The Difficulties Of Bringing The Pokémon Rival To Switch
@SteamEngenius meanwhile Pokémon Company sleeps on money and look how Arceus looked like, even compared to BOTW…
Not saying that TemTem looks good, but it would be naive to not admit how weak the Switch is now after 5+ years, keep that in mind.
Re: Twitter Users Rally For Young Cancer Patient Who Dreams Of Playing Pokémon Scarlet And Violet
(please understand what I mean in my comment, before getting angry)
I get a heavy deja-vu feeling over here, like this already happened not so long ago with a Pokémon game.
Story wise almost a copy paste, but now with a different Pokémon game.
It is great they try to achieve this, but I feel like this has happened before though.
Re: Nintendo Download: 9th June (Europe)
Sent Mario Strikers back, got it 2 days early from my local store but... I am not a multiplayer person, and the game lacks anything interesting for single player, even FIFA (which I hate) has more single player content.
I am stupified, because I was super excited for this game.
So Xenoblade 3 it is then, have to wait a littlebit longer for that, skipping FE Warriors though because Koei Tecmo again didn't lock the framerate to the stutters feel poor (tried the demo).
Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge Release Date Potentially Leaked
@Jey887 I don’t remember because I ordered it a while back, but if not mistaken they do take it immediately.
But myself I prefer to have the money taken immediately, saves me remembering there is a upcoming bill especially with more expensive stuff.
Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge Release Date Potentially Leaked
Fine by me, did pre-order my EU physical a while ago at my regular online place (I refuse to pay the LRG tax)
(Link for people wanting it: https://www.coolshop.co.uk/product/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-shredders-revenge/23BU6C/ )
Date is a placeholder I assume, it said the same when ordering it ages ago.
Re: Nintendo Download: 2nd June (Europe)
@BenAV Still on the fence with Card Shark, Loopers already shipped for me.
Re: Hands On: Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Is Looking Like A Mighty Meaty Hunk Of DLC
Re: Another Popular YouTube Channel Pulls Nintendo Music After 500+ Copyright Claims
Ah nothing new
Nintendo, a company that doesn't want you money.
There are so many ways to provide the music of their franchises legally AND earn money.
Yet they rather spend money (because getting after these people that provide their music, it surely does cost some amount of money though) on taking down the stuff people want to be able to listen to, and most of them would even pay for.
But no
"we don't want your money"
Re: How To Prepare Your 3DS And Wii U For Retirement - Hard Drive, Battery, Backup Tips
Re: How To Prepare Your 3DS And Wii U For Retirement - Hard Drive, Battery, Backup Tips
@sanderev Until Nintendo closes the servers too.
And no matter what anybody claims, that could happen any moment starting from that date, and only someone naive would believe that is not going to happen at some point (because to be able to download updates, those old servers need to stay up and that from experience with servers overall is NOT free by any means)
Re: How To Prepare Your 3DS And Wii U For Retirement - Hard Drive, Battery, Backup Tips
You know what I love about all this?
sarcasm alert
That Nintendo loves us so much
sarcasm alert over
It is so stupid that people in the US, even as of now can buy brand new original batteries from Nintendo for their 3DS systems, but we in EU are stuck with 3rd party solutions that just don't work like they claim.
Re: Random: France Bans Gaming Terms Like 'eSports' To Maintain Language Purity
I remember the days when I worked at a retail store where a lot of tourists came.
One thing I learned was that french people refused to speak english, but of course they expected you to speak french.
Yeah no, and sure sometimes tourists from other countries had same issue, but that was a more uncommon thing.
With french people that was mandatory.
Also credit cards, because my country is stupid and most stores (including the one where I did work) don't accept those.
But that's a different issue for another day.
Anyhow this is the reason this totally does not surprise me at all what France is doing here.
Re: Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic II Switch File Size Seemingly Revealed
Re: Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic II Switch File Size Seemingly Revealed
Re: Video: Do You Own A Video Game So Rare That You Can Never Actually Play It?
Oddly enough my rarest game is on the 3ds, Senran Kagura 2 Deep Crimson EU.
But I just recently replayed it, knowing full well how rare and expensive it is (aka I don't care)
As for my other rare games that are less rare than that one, plenty of Vita games I played through the years, games I had sealed and that were worth a pretty penny because of that, but which I took the seal off because I got them to play them.
Re: Soapbox: Leaving The Comfort Zone - A Quest To Find My New Favourite Games
I had this issue long long ago too.
