Never heard of it but I do enjoy video game adaptations to anime/manga usually so I will keep this on my radar.
Isn’t this rated for Adults Only in Japan by CERO? I wonder how the extreme violence and gore with the cutesy designs will be explained when released in the west.
Nice to see this amazing anime is now popular enough to get games based on it.
And if the game only has like half the violence/gore/intensity of the anime, oh boy! You guys are in for a ride! evil grin
I've just been watching this series on Toonami, it's pretty good, they really don't hold anything back when it comes to making the Abyss feel extremely dangerous and threatening. It could make for a really thrilling video game, but I'm not sure what form it would take (it probably won't be open world, which is the style of game that I like). The animations also look slightly off-putting in this, but I think I'd be less bothered by it over time.
Oh boy this will be a fun romp exploring horrors down below.
Game looks rough, but with the exploration of Made in Abyss and the great monster design, this anime could translate well into a game format.
Ooooh boy this series
Couldn't get into the anime due to the all chibi character design. Entirely turned me off. Would've been into it tho if they weren't chibi probly. Will probly be a descent game. Maybe.
I haven't seen it yet, But I'm going to see it at some point after! But guessing by everyone's reactions, i'm in for it LOL.
As for the game, after looking at the devs, my hopes are pretty low.
I was a little excited upon hearing this at first, but after watching the trailer, not as much anymore. Both the visuals and gameplay for the game look rough and are not giving me high hopes that it'll be good.
Nope, too dark and depressing for me. Good news for others though.
This looks pretty underwhelming. It might be the game but this is not a great trailer regardless.
The graphics look rough as it is so definitely going for the ps4 version, all I need to do now is start watching the anime, and I believe it has a few films
Give me gameplay footage rather than cinematic trailers! So bored of lovely trailers that don't demonstrste gameplay...
Ah yes that one and only anime I do not want to watch or see ever again.
People that watched it get the idea why.
@Severian Spike Chunsoft has a history of doing “stupid censorship” for a western localisation.
Stupid in this case means censoring stuff that totally doesn’t make any sense to censor.
I expect the same here, however I will not play the game, so I would have to read what other say afterwards about it.
The anime is actually really good. It’s a fascinating combination of cutesy characters and horror elements, with amazing world building. I watched it in Japanese and this English dub sounds infuriating.
@Liam_Doolan You might want to add a little warning for this one. Physical horror and violence is rather extreme and might turn one's stomach despite the cute visuals in this series.
Amazing manga, with a great anime adaptation. Hopeful this game will make a triple threat.
You can go down, but most don't come back up again.
Removed - spoilers
@AstroTheGamosian I think you should put a spoiler tag over this, I know the anime is old, just you know.
@Travisemo007 That's why I haven't watched it too. That said, I've just binged Ranking of Kings and it's amazing despite being one of the worst looking animes I've ever seen (aside from Ex-Arm). So maybe I should give this a shot.
How about bringing The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie VN over here while you're at it? People in the west want that as well, just saying.
I can t explain why I am attracted to this. But I am genuinely excited for this
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!!!!
No WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!
This news has made my entire year boiiiii!
I'm shaking.
This is my favourite manga. The entire abyss is freaking amazing. Dude, i just can't wait to experience this world in video game form. I hope we get to fight some of the awesome and frightening creatures of the abyss.
I have heard of the anime but I have not watched it. The anime character models suggest they would be ideal for a video game though! I'll give this a monitor
@BulkSlash ironically I liked ranking of kings. It helps tho that not all characters in the ranking of kings are chibi lol. I actually tried abyss and just couldn't. Ranking of kings hits right and isn't fully chibi. I mean dudes a kid so it only fits his character anyway.
@Snatcher Is there even a way to add one, other than just saying [SPOILER ALERT]?
@AstroTheGamosian put [spoiler] like this but no spaces between spoiler. [spoiler] just like that, make sure to put this / on the 2nd spoiler box. Put the two spoilers together with no spaces and it should look like this.
Nintendo
@Snatcher Thanks for the info. Either way, it looks like my comment was removed for spoilers, so, yeah. I do have a bad habit of that, I will admit.
But in my defense, I figured it wouldn't be one, considering both the manga and anime have been out for a while. I thought people who cared about Made In Abyss already knew.
What confused me, though, was them saying it was a spoiler for the game. Unless it's following the events of the manga and book, and isn't an original story, I fail to see how it's a spoiler for the game.
@AstroTheGamosian I think it’s because you said you didn’t know how to put the spoiler tag up, so they thought it was better to just remove it, that or the game follows the anime closely.
I understand, it’s been around a wile, it’s sorta like portal, most people won’t put a spoiler tag because of how old it is.
Placed my Amazon with gift card and nice price savings.
