Good news, Waifu lovers...Eastasiasoft's vertical shoot 'em up Waifu Discovered 2: Medieval Fantasy will be receiving a physical release on the Nintendo Switch.
The catch is it appears to only be for Europe (at least for now). Eastasiasoft has teamed up with Funbox Media to publish this title. The hard copy will set you back £34.99 and pre-orders are now live. If you do end up purchasing this, it's expected to ship on 13th May this year.
For anyone who needs a refresher about the follow up to Waifu Uncovered, here's some PR:
When an evil aging spell infects the garments of 8 beautifully medieval maidens, it falls to the legendary Uma Ninja to protect them. As one of these equine heroes, it’s your duty to destroy the clothing of these cursed damsels before their youthful grace and vigor are stolen forever! Using magic to miniaturize and face the diminutive demonic forces behind this threat, the Uma Ninja rush into battle for the sake of love and valor!
Waifu Discovered 2: Medieval Fantasy is a vertical shoot’em up experience that’s easy to play and addictive to master. Choose a hero and power up your ship as you blast through malicious monsters, collect gems and destroy infected clothing. Between stages, purchase items or permanent upgrades and listen to gossip from the mysterious shopkeeper. Then decide which maiden you’ll attempt to rescue next, perhaps discovering a few alluring secrets along the way.
This physical release includes a "fully uncensored mode" which is unlockable through gameplay and is exclusive to this edition of the game. You'll also get 9 gloss laminated, double-sided art cards containing an image of each character, with "fully dressed" on one side and "uncovered" on the other. Oo-er.
Alternatively, you can pick up the (slightly) censored eShop version, which was released last year for $9.99 USD. Would you be interested in adding the sequel to your collection? Leave a comment down below.

Nothing like a physical version of this game to proudly display on your shelf when your mother visits.
Love the story, it makes so much sense. Aging spell infects clothes, the solution? let's shoot them 🤣
No thanks, but happy for those who are interested.
doesnt the first game show some vagina?
Oh you horny Europeans.
If it’s a sequel to Waifu Uncovered, why is it called Waifu Discovered 2? Somehow that’s the really irritating thing here.
@faint Does it make you feel.........faint?
Heh
NINJA APPROVED
Good the switch is sorely lacking borderline porn anime games...oh wait..
@SteamEngenius Some of the best romance visual novels never even receive an English localization. Makes me sad and mad at the same time. Maybe if I cry loud enough the folks at Entergram in Japan will hear and they'll start localizing all the many VN's that have physical releases for Switch. Then we'll have some actual quality romance VN's because when it comes to actual good ones, Switch is sorely lacking. Unless you're a woman and you want otome VN's.. those always get localized and even get proper releases in the west.
"Discover the convenient practicality of ONE HAND MODE"
Now that is funny.
They took away the Virtual Console and this is what we get instead. They’re laughing at us.
No Switch collection will be complete without it.
@Tandy255 Well, if you're going for a 100% complete Switch collection that statement is true.
....I'm a perv who loves some fanservicey games or whatever out there and even I'm like "Nope." lol
Clothes are evil, must destroyed.
What's waifu even mean does it just mean anime girl
This looks great. We need more of these games.
Anyone buying Switch shoot em ups for their porn fix isn’t using the internet properly!
Will pick it up, first game was fun!
@HamatoYoshi Yeah, since Switch lack porn. Thats what PC games are for.
@SteamEngenius Drop the sarcasm, you are spot on. Nintendo should also allow full porn games too!
@FishyS Not much to display, I have far mor ecchi things on display than this game's cover
@LCampoy8 like in an anatomy class?
@Would_you_kindly It's just the term "wife" but written phonetically Japanese.
So you could say that "Waifu's" are the anime/manga version of "wife material"
I'd be interested but I already own it digitally. It's a decent shootemup and there is a big jump in quality over the first game.
@JustMonika I like some otomes, but I am getting "sick" from the amount of them the Switch is getting, versus normal VNs.
Luckily there is PC too...
Physical release huh?
@Rayquaza2510 But for people like me that don't have a PC, Switch is the best option. At least Chaos;Head Noah / Chaos;Child is coming to the West. Some really good ones on the Switch are Island, Aokana: Four Rhythms Across the Blue, World End Syndrome, Doki Doki Literature Club Plus, The Grisaia Trilogy, If My Heart Had Wings, Steins;Gate Elite, Little Busters!, Clannad, Miracle Snack Shop, Food Girls, Love Esquire.. and soon Loopers, Food Girls 2, OshiRabu and 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim.
@JustMonika @Rayquaza2510 Absolutely agree! Funny how the people who complains about VNs and fanservice always stays stays silent about otome games.... Technically an dungeon crawler so this is kinda cheating, but Mary Skelter Finale practically includes the first two games as VNs, as it has all the dialog without the gameplay. And its a really good game too
@JustMonika and I have *all of the ones you mentioned, includes pre-orders (I wonder is Food Girls 2 is more fun than the first one, oh well)
(Not getting Oshirabu on Switch, too expensive for how short it is, and Love Esquire I have on Steam but didn't like it)
And in front of that list, there is a bigger list of otomes (not even counting the up coming ones)
As for the PC story, luckily for a VN even a 10 years old cheapo work station or notebook is enough, I get the point why some people don't have a PC, for my work a PC is mandatory so I had one to begin with.
Also I am not so happy about the Chaos Head release on Switch, Spike Chunsoft is acting weird again and they are censoring that one for no apparent reason, so there is that too.
(I don't mind lack of H scenes in some games because I don't care, but in case of Chaos Head they are cutting content that is gory)
And I already made the blunder with getting If my heart had wings on Switch, that one had cut content too (but so it does on PC, you need a restoration patch for that)
@Tobiaku Mary Skelter is fun (need to get Finale yet), I hope Aquaplus would release Dungeon Travelers 2-2 on Switch someday considering the previous one I did like too.
@TheStardustWarrior : The physical releases are the only way to own these games uncensored.
I'm kind of reminded of "Uncraft Me!" However, that was a platformer (and a really difficult one), not a shoot 'em up. But it's basically the same premise: go through the levels to reveal scantily-clad anime girls.
I have no words.
Looks like a super crappy game to me.
Even if the game was good the artwork looks bad.
Like an artist who is not used to painting anime art is giving it a shot for the first time.
@Silly_G nope. Just input the konami code at the title screen, and Bam! Fully Uncensored.
humma humma baby
Screw Netflix, switch needs porn hub now.
@abdias What Nintendo should do is to allow AO rated games to get released on their systems.
@Tobiaku I was joking, switch do not need porn (anime porn even less). A safe environment is everything for parents, aka people who indeed have the money.
A must-have for any Switch physical collector who appreciates a bit of "culture".
@abdias Then I just happen to agree with the sentiment of what you were joking about. Parental control is a thing. They could make those games physical only and not put them on the eshop.
I think it would be really cool of them if they allowed that type of games
@Rayquaza2510 Here's my collection of VN's.. Clannad is actually the Collector's Edition that cost me $250 and includes an art book and soundtrack. If there's a physical copy available for any of these then I own it.

Not bad, it must be selling well. The game is quite a competent shooter, actually...better than some lower-end, pixel-based, save-the-galaxy-yet-again situation.
One handed mode 😂
@JeanPaul "Discover the convenient practicality of ONE HAND MODE"
Now that is funny.
I already discovered and mastered that mode in the mid 90's when our household got our first internet computer That old school Pentium II sure got ran into the ground more times than I can count.
@LCampoy8 Only if you buy the physical copy. The download only one only shows bare breasts.
@MajinSoul I actually thought the first game was super fun. I liked that the powerups were random so sometimes you could have a super powerful ship, and other playthroughs you needed more skill.
This is something King from One Punch Man would play.
this game looks fun....Sold!
@chewytapeworm They could call it a accessibility feauture
@Einherjar AHH okay thanks for explaining
How utterly ridiculous and hilarious.
@JustMonika I was gonna laugh if DDLC wasn’t on your list 😂
When will they port Summer with Mia I wonder.
@Thwomp_Stomper I've bought it 4 times 😆
@JustMonika I played it for the first time last week on switch going in completely blind. Let’s just say I also bought it for ps5 the day after I finished it. It’s very well done and now I can fully appreciate your pic and username 🤣
@Thwomp_Stomper I'm the creative leader of Projekt Monika after all 😁
The Games Industry: “We have grown up. We are no longer the horny teenager of the 1990’s. We make more money than Hollywood and Music. We are the defacto entertainment standard. Take us seriously as an art form.”
Developers: “New one handed mode!”
Sigh.
Nintendo really have no shame now do they? They probably jack off to this with one hand, whilst closing Youtubers down with the other.
@RadioHedgeFund
People who preach about equality and inclusivity when someone makes fun of a game they like: You can't mock this game, devs are free to make what they want!
Same people when someone mocks ecchi games: (Nowhere to be found unless they themself participate in said mocking)
Also you can call the one handed mode a accessibility feature.
@Tobiaku Well a line has to be drawn somewhere. Maybe it’s about time we started encouraging people to go out and interact with real people instead of staying in with something like this.
Someone might come out with ‘well if gaming is an art form there are plenty of paintings of naked people’ and they would miss the point completely.
This isn’t a celebration of the female form, there are no dudes in it (I am sure there is a subset of gamers who would enjoy stripping the clothes off virtual guys) and, like most adult material of this nature it is quite clearly abusive.
@RadioHedgeFund Yeah there is a line, and this game is perfectly within the line of acceptable. People er perfectly able to both enjoy ecchi games and interacting with other people.
I'm sure the people who find this game problematic would find it just as problematic if it included dudes, so atleast its just half the problem right? AndI'm also certain there are people who would want a game like this with dudes, but if no devs want to make it, they should not be forced.
Well, its just as much a celebration as if the girls were made to be uglier 🤷♂️ And no, games like these are absolutely not more abusive than games with strong violence. Neither are necessary abusive or problematic.
@abdias people who watch pron also have the money to spend... do you know how much OF makes from their s*mps? 😂
The greatest achievement to unlock while on co-op mode!
@JustMonika I can’t imagine not owning even a low-end PC. They’re just too useful.
Can it be played one handed? Asking for a friend.
The way I see these types of games (never played one, just seen trailers) - they come up with some magical storyline to almost excuse the nudity and try to make it practical, but it’s not. We all know we’re just playing for the anime girls.
And it’s gonna sell well because people outside of Europe are going to buy it anyway
@jello64 Since you already watched the trailer you know the answer is yes, it does have a one handed mode
@JustMonika that’s awesome! is it a mod? Id definitely try it out on my pc!
@BloodNinja I haven't done PC gaming since the 90's and I stopped using them entirely after smart phones became a thing. The only thing that's tempting me to get a Steam Deck or laptop are all the VN's I'm missing out on that aren't on Switch. Plus the 18+ versions.
@JustMonika You can get a cheap gaming rig if all you want are VNs!
@JustMonika Check out ETA Prime on YouTube. He has vids of cheap gaming builds.
Been soft-locked in one hand mode for too long at this point.
1990s Nintendo is unhappy about this.
