I returned my copy of Beyond to Amazon (unopened), due to the reviews, but also that I have a big backlog. Zero Mission and Samus Returns are my favourites btw.
7 is such a great game. I played through that on PSVR and it was probably my favorite RE game to date, even better than Village and RE remake (while I played on PSVR2). So don't skip it. Also, it's worth pointing out that Capcom often have great sales, so perhaps hang on for a good deal.
I budget around £20 a month on games. For larger games, that means not buying another game for 3 month. This purchase was a no brainer. Devs should try looking for maximising reach for longer term income and fan engagement.
@JumpingJackson I agree. Something that my parents taught me. That said, if I ever buy a full price game I’ll use pay pal credit and pay it over of a month or two, and stay in my gaming budget.
I picked up one of these to use my Switch 2 on two separate televisions. I use this on the television that has less usage. For that is appears to do the job okay. My main negative observation is that while my Pro 2 controller starts the console, with the Nintendo dock it would turn on the TV and switch to the correct input. It doesn't do it with this device. I used the same HDMI cable that came with the Switch 2. I also only paid around £23 (and already had a spare power adapter), If it is something you don't use as often as the Nintendo, on a second television or as a travel item, its a good purchase.
I started DKB, it’s great, but went back to TOTK Switch 2. It’s my first play through. I’m Taking my time and loving being in this world. Much more than BOTW. Perhaps the performance makes a big difference.
I preordered. I’m currently 60 hours in TOTK Switch 2 version, in my first play through. Taking my time. Do I stick with this, or take a DK break and come back? What great first world problems I have.
Regarding the paid upgrade games like BOTW. Be aware that if you own the switch physical and upgrade it, the game will not have the same performance as a digital, or switch 2 physical version due to slower read of the original switch card. Loading will be slower.
Seriously, why would anyone want to play at 30fps. Also why do games that offer a quality and performance mode usually default to 30fps quality mode rather than the 60fps performance mode?
I’m not convinced it’s happening in 2024. I’m calling spring 2025. I think they will try and get one more holiday season out of the Switch. Switch 2 will release before end of financial year. This is be closer to the approach on announcing then delivering the Wii U. That was over year from announcement to launch. I’ll be so happy to wrong though. This holiday season handheld PC’s could be a real threat if Nintendo delays any further.
@PikaPhantom Me too. It looks like it hasn't gone live yet. I've have been seeing quite a few bugs, where I have to close the game or go back to main menu, which is very annoying if you've just made through a technical section. I hope the Pirate King Quest is fixed. Surprised this wasn't picked up in QA.
The cost between a handheld pc device like a Rog Ally or Steam Deck and the Switch is getting closer. It's certainly cheaper to get one of these devices and source your games carefully, using key shops if you want to play big cross platform games.
If the screen is 8 inches, then we can expect the resolution to be 1080p otherwise the PPI would be a downgrade. Some LCDs look fantastic, so I will wait and see.
I have a gaming pc, PS5 and Switch. I’ve tried the demo on PS5 (at 120fps)and in the Switch and I’ve decided to get this on the Switch. It stacks up really well against other versions and feels good to play handheld.

@Krambo42 good point. And if you want to play online, Nintendo online is much cheaper than the other consoles.
Re: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Performance And Resolution Revealed
Why are we having to pay for the devs to change a few settings? I’ll probably pick this up on the cheap in PC down the line.

I expect this will be a 30fps game. It wasn't well optimised on PC. It's an okay game though.
