Re: Super Mario Bros. Wonder Nintendo Direct Announced For August 31st

ParadoxFawkes

I feel this is the type of game people already know at its announcement if they are getting it or not... to see such a paint by the numbers year for Nintendo makes me feel nothing new and exciting is coming atleast for a year ..its been a good year but played it safe all the way.. here's hoping next year we'll have a new "3d" mario, Metroid prime 4 and a new switch

Re: Hands On: Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 Could Be So Much More, But Isn't

ParadoxFawkes

While better ports would be nice but just having them on switch makes me happy, mgs should never leave the conversation for long and it has been like a decade since they have been relevant. Playing those as a kid helped me understand crap i could not fathom but have seen played out in the real world as I grew up, atleast we have the mgs3 remake to look forward to as well .. with the arkham games coming and the surprise drop of read dead pretty happy with the ports this year and my switch will finally be complete of what I've wanted to come to have in portable format...like persona 5 royal and assassin's creed black flag .now we just need paper mario 1000 year door and Wind Waker

Re: Talking Point: The Games We Got Rid Of - What Were We Thinking?

ParadoxFawkes

I gave away my n64 to my buddy for like 10 bucks back in like 2003, thinking I'll never play these again I've had enough...i have regretted that decision for years...got rid of my og xbox too..... My n64 with like 20 of the best games including Goldeneye, Ocarina of Time, Smash Bros, and Conker's Bad Fur Day and many other classics... probably like star fox and mario party... However since the ps3 era ive kept everything including 3ds and wiiu, and I've rebought an n64( with only Zelda).. i can access the majority of older games with emulation so I don't bother tracking those down but right now i probably have 7-8 consoles and like 3 handhelds and the rest is emulated on my pc and tablet/phone and heck even my homebrewed new 2ds xl and wiiu

Re: Mailbox: Nintendo Life Letters Page - TOTK Overload, Patches, Geno-Lovers

ParadoxFawkes

Around 50hours into totk and have beaten two temples so far.... I find the game to be quite tedious... Just rushing from place to place to build up my Link and map... The weapons suck...too many places to see but to just collect and collect..bubblegems or korak seeds... I loved botw the sense of discovery the first time around was incredible... While totk gives you more.... I know where the majority of things are , no sense of awe or discovery... I was able to warp to the tower near the Zoras and drop right in... In botw i had to fight my way up a mountain during a lightning storm with almost no wooden weapons.. an experience I'll always remember... Everyone has praised totk so much but the game honestly does feel like an expanded botw.. the game was designed for all those YouTubers who've played botw for 6 years straight to have more toys for more videos... I wonder what the next Zelda will look and play like .. I do dig the story tho

Re: Talking Point: How Do You Store Your Games Collection?

ParadoxFawkes

I dont have as many consoles as I have had so physical collections for the gamecube era and older is non existent...i do however have an n64 with Ocarina of time, much of my physical games sit on bookshelves wishing i could display the art somehow especially with steelbook cases... I have around 8 or so consoles most of them hooked up.. this last gen i have started to go mostly digital depending on if i want a physical copy or not, pc is all digital anyways so it doesn't sting so bad ..buying physical playstation games is worthless because the disc is only used for checking the license which gets annoying to get up to swap out when I don't need to with a digital collection, i would like to display my games but i dont feel like spending any extra money for it, I did however build a custom rack to display records on my wall which is pretty cool but my games are mostly kept in a messy crummy way

Re: Feature: The One Thing Wii Did Much Better Than Switch

ParadoxFawkes

Left Nintendo for over a decade because of the wii and wiiu can't take a game seriously that asks me to jack off my controllers to do things on screen, imprecise and prone to accidental imputs but the majority of the games weren't considered serious games compared to the likes of what was considered actually gaming on ps3 and 360. Much rather have physical buttons and control over exactly what I'm doing rather then attempting to cut diagonally to the left and have it register as a right up diagonal... Tried the switch version of controls in mario Galaxy and skyward sword hd and meh I get what you're saying but also on wii only like a handful of games really made it seem worth it .... Wii sports and resident evil 4

Re: Batman Arkham Trilogy Swoops To Switch This Fall

ParadoxFawkes

Yesss finally! Since I got my switch in 2018 there were a handful of ports i dreamed of coming to switch... Batman collection, and Metal Gear Solid collection are the last two... Got Persona, assassin's creed, Tony hawk, kinda got GTA, just need 1000 year door and wind waker and we'll be set!

Re: Video: The OneXPlayer 2 Is Very Switch-Inspired, But What Do We Make Of It?

ParadoxFawkes

I don't like videos and rather read articles but instead of calling it an anti switch just call it a portable pc or handheld pc because that's what it is more than being a weaker price comparable plug and play console you touch on that in the video ..had to hop around a little to find what i was looking for but the market for hand-held PCs has definitely blown open but more so as the advancements they make in say laptops in that price range its reasonable to expect an even more slimmed down version to come to handheld... Those compete against one another the Switch is still a loner in its category with the steam deck probably being the closest and probably the biggest competitor to Nintendo's bottom line. As long as Nintendo makes its own games and doesn't deviate too much from the switch concept but with more powerful hardware they'll continue to sell for the next decade. Handheld pcs are cool no doubt but I can't see myself investing since i already have a asus rog 14 in laptop which is quite portable and a switch..and my tablet which can do GeForce now and ps remote play pretty decently... quite an era for gaming we live in

Re: Cult Of The Lamb's Free Major Content Update Is Out Today, Here's What's Included

ParadoxFawkes

@Ocat yea i almost bought it on pc but same i really wanted this one for laying around playing haha, reminds me a bit of Forager.. atleast the camp management and resource collecting ..and I hope your experience is as smooth as mine, since I've only had the game a couple weeks i didnt really encounter many of the bugs people were talking about when it released... I wish I could say the same for Sifu which runs like freeze frame garbage on the switch

Re: FTC Reportedly Wants Info From Nintendo On Call Of Duty Deal (North America)

ParadoxFawkes

Oh yes court system here is our full plans and new system and its capabilities and our deal of when and how will cod come to Nintendo....yea right...even after this deal is done they barely have a scratch on whats gonna release or when .. all just hypotheticals now...but i bet sweet juicy secret information about switch ultra or switch future or whatever it is would need to be mentioned and they obviously don't want that haha

Re: Talking Point: What Is A 'Traditional' Zelda Game, Anyway?

ParadoxFawkes

I would say legend of zelda was just enough...zeldaish to be considered a Zelda game still, While I wasn't expecting such a huge change it was definitely a welcome one (except breakable weapons) the Zelda formula so to speak was already getting old by twilight princess...and definitely felt repetitive by skyward sword and even link between worlds... Ocarina was my childhood, Wind Waker became my favorite for years until Botw became the greatest Zelda ever... Not sure if the same wow factor will apply to totk, which feels like Zelda 1.5 the same way with Majora's Mask... Like seen it already, next! But also would like to add... Most Zelda experiences try to break the mold...minish cap, wind waker, even the 2 stylus based ones on ds...heck right from the beginning the first one was way out there comparatively, and the second game in the series was way different...so its always been a thing with Nintendo to do that

Re: Talking Point: Which Is Your Favourite Nintendo Controller? Every Nintendo Pad Ranked

ParadoxFawkes

This scoring system doesn't make much sense but the wii pro controllers were great I hated the wiimote , the gamecube controller is so overrated... Crappy dpad...missing atleast 3 buttons and a layout that only works for about 5 games....including Resident evil 4 and Mario Sunshine... The pro controller for switch is great only because its the most "normal" controller they have ever made... Buttons are where they should be its nice big and comfy with a great battery life... crappy dpad tho . Also just because you never used the dogbone nes controller it doesn't mean the classic square one is more comfortable or preferable just because of nostalgia

Re: Talking Point: Which Is Your Favourite Quest In Zelda: Breath Of The Wild?

ParadoxFawkes

The island one for sure, any of labyrinths, I found the quest to get into the gerudo town to be hilarious, Link being bashful when he's told he looks pretty was one of the funniest things ever in a Zelda game, i chose the zoras for my first guardian and I'll never forget how I'll prepared i was with no wooden weapons in the middle of lighting on the way up, fighting those jerks ( i forget what they are called) at their hideout in the desert was great as was making tarry town and of course the first visit to the Lost woods... Lots of great moments and quests in botw... The sense of discovery and what's next made it so great it felt so new and fresh for the series ..Not sure the same wow factor will apply to totk
