Re: Soapbox: The Games Industry Needs To Give Up On Exclamation Marks!

ParadoxFawkes

I don't know... When I notice them I do shout them like Top of The Muffin, To You! As clearly it is meant to be shouted, if anything there isn't enough unnecessary punctuation. and Capitalization in games , but we can also always count on the Japanese to translate strange phrases and cool sounding words into long winded Titles for games and anime, Like Last Standing of All Our Hearts or something or Drāgon Victory 7

Re: Feature: Meet Morphcat Games, The New-Gen NES Devs Pushing The 8-Bit Envelope

ParadoxFawkes

@nocdaes in a sense they have been revisiting old games with remakes like Link's awakening and Mario legend of the 7 stars and then even remasters like metroid prime and the upcoming paper Mario 1000 year door... Other games like link between worlds is a sorta sequel to link to the past and then games like the new super mario bros are callbacks to their 2d days... So I feel Nintendo more than most do go back and show love to past games

Re: Talking Point: What Would Make You Happy To Give Up Physical Games And Go 100% Digital?

ParadoxFawkes

Pc is all digital anways but you have more freedom in a sense vs digital games on consoles... I've only gone more digital for convenience on switch and ps4... On switch i have around 25 physical games and like 50-75 digital...cant remember how many games i have tho... I like having much of my library with me as possible so 10 physical carts fit in my switch slim case and my favorites are downloaded...atleast like 3000 hours of gaming in case of you know...whatveer

Re: New And Improved Nitro Deck+ Announced For Switch, Pre-Orders Live

ParadoxFawkes

Was curious about the nitrodeck .. i primarily like to play handheld and use my pro controller for the dock or the 8bitdo sn30 pro .. for handheld i have the hori split pads , the split pad compacts and some Chinese binboks (only ones with gyro, rumble and battery) and all of them get uncomfortable playing laying down after some time .. not sure about that right thumbtick placement...having to relearn a controller for that seems like a pain .. here's hoping the next joycons or whatever are much more comfortable

Re: Most Addictive Nintendo Switch Games

ParadoxFawkes

@Poodlestargenerica i would agree with cult of the lamb however once i unlocked the whole camp i couldn't find myself to finish the 4th boss...been wanting to go back now there's more dlc... I also felt that way with Pokemon sword...i played it like all day one day... put it 50 hours I think i beat it and then just sold it haha

Re: Most Addictive Nintendo Switch Games

ParadoxFawkes

Forager really hooked me for like 35 hours in a week ...not much in the endgame but the constant managing and growing and a buncha a little tasks that worked well with my ADD ... palworld is currently filling that weird hole where its not so tedious but relaxing some how... Also Hades is great and I love Katana Zero as far as addictive games that aren't on this list...and mario Odyssey isn't bad to go hunting for moons every now and again

Re: More Switch 2 Rumours Surface In New "Exclusive" From Reuters

ParadoxFawkes

They won't announce anything because switch sales are still very strong...why stop their money flow by announcing a new console? They will squeeze every last drop of juice thats left from current Nintendo gen which operates in its own space...also we can expect the next system to do 4k and ray tracing as they were wanting that...id be happy with a solid 2k 60 fps system or else like what the hell are they doing there are so many fricking handheld pcs right now and the prices keep getting better and better on those

Re: Review: Eastward: Octopia (Switch) - A Great Farm Sim Expansion That Edges Out The Base Game

ParadoxFawkes

Not usually a farm sim guy but it would be nice to get some milage out of Eastward as I couldn't get past the first couple hours ..so much text and like back and forth walking and talking some more and like 10 mins of gameplay... So hearing this expansion has a lot less "story" makes me want to give this a shot... Nice to see this happening more and more games dropping dlc that's different from the main game like God of War Ragnarok with its roguelike mode

Re: Talking Point: As A Nintendo Fan, Do You Really Need To Play The Virtual Boy?

ParadoxFawkes

@Banks its a great little system once updated with custom firmware and os, I also got my stepson a anbernic 351v and gotta say i love that little thing alot more for nearly the same price.. custom background music, more consoles, and the build quality and buttons feel better... Got it for $75 on Amazon during the holidays, the miyoo mini+ for $60 and for that price its great .. the game switcher being its best feature... But i find the system a little cramped and slippery for bigger hands... looking to add some grip stickers soon, but being able to emulate on a little system that is arguably cooler than a gameboy could be is pretty awesome i wanted something really small to not feel like a weirdo at family parties when playing my switch or laptop would make me look odd but no one bats an eye at a little retro handheld, I also hope to eventually pick up a retroid pocket 2s ... I can't see myself spending more than $100 on one of these as I have a switch, PlayStation, tablet and a laptop but its really fun playing up to ps1 games and replaying old favorites and finally getting to games I never got to play as a kid that are considered classics

Re: Talking Point: As A Nintendo Fan, Do You Really Need To Play The Virtual Boy?

ParadoxFawkes

I remember trying a virtual boy in whatever store in the 90s... headache pretty much after 5 minutes, on this past Christmas I got a little miyoo mini + which i customized and have all 22 games on it... The red is kinda cool but still hurts to look at for a long time..but I bet the 3d would look cool...I agree with the writer not having atleast a couple of these on the 3ds was a missed opportunity.

Re: Random: Japanese Celebs Reportedly Told "Not To Mention" Palworld To Avoid Damaging Pokémon Relations

ParadoxFawkes

I dont understand the worship Japanese people have for companies like Pokemon when the companies themselves are there strictly for profit... Like oh my goodness digimon came out on the heels of Pokemon...was there a hushed reverence then about the so similar on the surface but not so much once you see they are different same with Palworld...if anything they should be proud that people want to imitate their work...even if it took forever...we play a million zelda likes and "Metroidvanias"...wheres the pitchforks for those? Palworld is fun... It won't stop me from playing Pokemon either...why don't they understand that we wanna play all the games we can..not just pick and choose one like they are NFL teams.. (soccer clubs?) And say no to the rest.. thats ludacrisy

Re: Talking Point: Is Knowing A Game's Ending Really That Bad?

ParadoxFawkes

Yea no, I rather be surprised every time but it's hard these days because the second a game releases ...game sites such as this will post articles titled like..I did not see that ending coming...or what did you think of such and such like a day after the game launches...like what the hell give us a chance to play it before you just keep riding off the hype ...and so when there are games I really don't care for story I'll see the ending ..or not... because I didnt care for it anyways

Re: Round Table: Let's Talk About Palworld - Comparisons, Controversy, 'Copying'

ParadoxFawkes

The more I hear of this game the more I want to play it .yea yea they look like Pokemon so what, I like the artstyle anyways... I just don't understand the hate like why are people so defensive and protective of a company that makes so much money off of them? Pokemon doesn't need any help and I don't see the complaining for the 10 billion Zelda likes or how about complain about every platformer out there because its too much like Mario .. games like this need to exist for the sake of creativity...ripped off designs or not atleast the rest of the game looks wholy different and I think thats the point ..we never would of ever gotten a Pokemon game like this... isn't great where we live in a world where both exist together?

Re: Yes, Nintendo Is Aware Of Palworld's Existence

ParadoxFawkes

The Pokemon company is one of the most profitable media entities out there ... selling like 20-50 million copies of their games, a game like this shouldn't matter if anything make the next pokemon games better... Skipped the last one due to its ugly emptiness and glitchyness

Re: Players Need To Start "Feeling Comfortable" With Not Owning Games, Says Ubisoft Subs Boss

ParadoxFawkes

Yea right .. I'm actually starting the process of going back to physical media when i realized I couldn't take my digital movies and put them on stuff... Also sick and tired of streaming services raising prices for subpar content i only watch the same stuff over anyways so I figure I'll get me a bluray burner copy all my physical movies and shows and put them on my devices like fire stick and tablet... So yea F this guy and the whole industry... Microsoft pushing gamepass as the future is a joke... Streaming has already proven how hard it is to actually pay people for their work while the fat cats on top get rich
