Re: Opinion: I Didn't Realise How Much I'd Missed 'Traditional' Zelda Dungeons

ParadoxFawkes

Maybe I'm in the minority here but i have always hated Zelda dungeons... Since ocarina was my first proper Zelda..have played the first two on nes thinking they sucked and were weird... I hated the atmosphere and bs problem solving of dungeons just to fight a three hit boss to get one specific tool or weapon to play with in the rest of the world which i loved... Botw and totk are my favorite except wind waker and ocarina...as far as 2d Zeldas go my favorite is minish cap but gtfo with the boring ass swing in four directions gameplay of 2d zeldas..i hate dungeons and the formula is old at this point and if really crave it i can play like 5 same ol Zeldas or the million plus wannabes in the indie community...im glad people like to beat nostalgia to death but I'll pass on needing all my Zeldas to be the same ol *****

Re: Minecraft Fans Apologise To 'Story Mode' In Response To Live-Action Movie Reveal

ParadoxFawkes

I don't know, I appreciate Minecraft for what it is, but could never really get into it, maybe if i was a kid when it came out, its pretty much digital legos my kids play it and i have some friends that do .. the graphics suck so bad even with ray tracing and mods... With that being said that trailer made the world look better than it ever has and it looks like they're trying with it... My kids will enjoy it, I like jack black... telltale games suck this movie might be okay or not but if it entertains my children.... (realizing there's alot of adults complaining here) and its not dumber than any of the crap they already make (minus instant no woke garbage) ill take my kids to see this who this is primarily for so calm down people...however jason momoa looks stupid ...like a live action dora

Re: Dead Cells' Final Update Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

ParadoxFawkes

Been playing this since the beginning on and off probably like 50-60 hours total and own like 3 of the paid dlcs and have barely seen half of em... just last week finally started a run [and died 5-6 biomes in]with an extra boss cell (after avoiding the difficulty spike for years) ..so much content is locked behind certain playstyles and mechanics and so much random repetitiveness (if you can believe it) makes me not want to seek it out but however one of favorite indies of all time

Re: Iconic Publication Game Informer Is Closing Down After 33 Years

ParadoxFawkes

Dang, just reupped my gamestop membership ( serves me right haha) this is upsetting but long coming... Game informer was great at a time when the had exclusive content and it was new .. nowadays by the time i read a game informer its all old news because of the monsters on the Internet....no secrets can be kept no spoilers can be left unspoiled and we need every bit of any gaming news to suck off of to live as per many of these game sites scour the Internet for any information about anything at all .. rest in peace game informer

Re: Braid: Anniversary Edition Sales Have Been "Utterly Terrible", Says Creator

ParadoxFawkes

Well i mean $20 for an old indie game that's not relevant much anymore I picked it up hella cheap on steam, its not my fault most indie games are priced $15 and less (especially on sale) and its trained me to not pay much more than that for a indie game unless its something endlessly amazing like dead cells... That being said paying $35 for a physical copy of something like cult of the lamb is too much too.(However i did buy that, for that much)

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Nervous To Replay In Case They Don't Hold Up?

ParadoxFawkes

I wont not play a game because they don't hold up .. but its definitely not as good as it was....play jedi outcast 2 was hard enough back then... The metal gear solid games have aged like old cheese the controls are abysmal and were even something you had to get used to back then....but I won't not play a game because its too old or whatever there's something nostalgic of revisiting these places .. lately I've wanted to play Yoshi's Safari on Snes again but that's almost impossible because of needing a super scope to do so again ..so I'll just listen to some of the music on YouTube every now and again

Re: Talking Point: How Do You Define 'Retro'?

ParadoxFawkes

I feel retro for me (I'm 35) is 16,bit and first and second gen 3d as well if you want with the n64 and gamecube era as like ps1 and ps2 games genuinely feel old as F however because of the art styles on GameCube Nintendo games they feel fresher for longer...also the wii for some reason feels more retro than the GameCube and I'd throw in the DS at this point... And strictly for gaming I consider genuine retro stuff from the 60s-80s as I was a 90s kid... People like to throw the word around for anything older than current which may be accurate..i dont know

Re: Talking Point: One Year On, Has Everyone Beaten Ganondorf In Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?

ParadoxFawkes

I went away for awhile but came back recently finally finished the last area at the castle now fighting the monsters on the various levels... As much as I love this game and have put in 120 hours ..i still have the majority of the underground and a good chunk of sky islands and...i ...feel.....meh... I put in around this many hours in botw did just about everything except fight ganon as i was trying to beat the dlc and about a million games have gotten in the way since but i feel i have only done like 40 percent of totk and it wouldn't kill me if i didnt explore this world which i already have in botw and i feel stingy with my barely collected zonai stuff that i dont really just build spaceships and robots or whatever as it uses the barely collected zonai rocks needed for upgrading the battery life...just i dont know...ill probably beat ganon here soon but whats keeping me grounded into seeing the rest of the side stuff out?

Re: Saber Interactive CEO Doesn't Think $70 Video Games Are Sustainable

ParadoxFawkes

@Ryu_Niiyama i meant overall my switch costs more to game on than elsewhere.. ports are more expensive than elsewhere 1st party games also stay full price far longer than elsewhere and barely get good discounts. Not based on playing one platform more than the other or how many games are bought at full price, my switch collection has cost me more in dollars than playing elsewhere even if I play more on pc right now

Re: Saber Interactive CEO Doesn't Think $70 Video Games Are Sustainable

ParadoxFawkes

I understand that point of needing to pay 70 as games have cost more in the 90s . However with an era of half finished games, micro transactions, short service life( looking at you call of duty) or repetitive cut and paste games like Ubisoft that have ultimate and gold editions that go on sale within weeks for half or more even sometimes it makes me question if it's worth it and for others I definitely feel I'm throwing my money away... Games are so so cheap these days and even free and barely having time to even finish games from years ago they need to make good on their end... Sony first party and Nintendo generally make top notch products where as I also want to support the studio so they make more steller content.. however Nintendo games hardly go on sale and I can't justify paying 60 for these little one time adventures like kirby and peach or the endless mario sports games, where as on PlayStation knowing their best games eventually go half or cheaper or for 10-20 making me wonder if i should wait on some ... But I definitely have paid full price for games i barely touched thinking i was gonna have time or not get sucked into another game...overall tho last year was the first year in a while with so many dang good games but also where as I can wait a bit for some as jedi survivor dropped to half price regularly now and I picked up Hogwarts legacy for half price at the end of last year.. still not far... Anyways its definitely an era for the gamers hopefully things can be made right on the development side as thousands have lost their jobs over the last couple years
