Got mine preordered the day it was announced and shortly after stores got sent instructions on taking orders. So unless I get really screwed over, come the end of September I'll be one happy gamer.
It would be nice but I haven't had any problems using the current joycons, even for the games mentioned in the article. The buttons work fine for Namco Museum and I've found myself using the analogue stick on the sideways joycon to play Galaga which works quite comfotably. The stick doesn't work so well for Pac-Man but the buttons work fine.
As for titles like Street Fighter and King of Fighters, the buttons are crap for playing it but the stick works just fine for me.
Then there's just about everything else. Lots of people question how it would be possible to play titles like Shovel Knight or Cave Story without a proper D-pad. Well I played them just fine using the buttons.
So really, if the buttons fail me, the stick works fine. If the stick fails me, the buttons work fine. Nintendo can release a D-pad joycon but I have no need to spend money on it.
Also saw these listed on the EB Game site. They're two of the cheaper Switch games but still more expensive than titles like Lego Worlds, Sonic Forces and Rayman Legends Definitive Edition. I was more exited to see the listing for Axiom Verge Multiverse Edition which is the same price.
Such hate for trophies/achievements in this section. I like hunting trophies down on my PS3/4 but the ones I go for never feel like a chore for me. The ones that do I just don't bother with. They're really no different to any other challenge or list of tasks in a video game that hasn't existed before achievement systems were a thing. Only difference is you get them displayed on your digital profile. Sometimes they do get me to do things I wouldn't normally have done, which I appreciate because then I get more out of a game. That being said, it's not like they're needed. I certainly didn't need an achievement system on the Switch to complete all the shrines in BotW. Likewise, I was happy to 100% games I enjoyed before these systems were in place.
I take it the update is only available in America right now? The update doesn't seem to be available for me. Nicalis did mention on Twitter that despite submitting it to NOE before NOA, it was still waiting for approval by NOE.
@nhSnork
FFXII The Zodiac Age has an autosave take place everytime you enter an area, so you can use that as a sort of quick save. Not sure what your mobile data has to do with the game though.
Seems likes there's a lot of people here who hate New Donk City. Meanwhile I think it's cool. The realistic humans looked off for a second until I realised Mario has appeared with humans designed differently both in his own sports games and Smash. Plus Mario has been in city settings before in the Donkey Kong games. I'm glad each kingdom is going for a unique feel. Makes levels more interesting than just grass, desert, ice, lava and the other usual level designs.
Confirmation of Pokemon and Metroid for the Switch and what was shown of Odyssey was spectacular. Also looking forward to Kirby. Though I would have liked to have seen more games since the biggest announcements were just showing more of already announced stuff or just confirmation something is happening but being unable to see it.
@MegaMari0 Uhh, no, that's Pauline. The Pauline from the original Donkey Kong is the one in Donkey Kong '94 on the GB and the Mario vs Donkey Kong series and now in Odyssey as the mayor of New Donk City.
I got more than I expected for the 6 minute presentation. Not surprised to see so much salt here though, it is Nintendolife after all.
I didn't get Pokken on Wii U, so the DX version is tempting. If I did get the Wii U version though 'd be annoyed.
Ultra Sun and Moon, not that excited for but I'll probably still get.
Happy to see my favourite Gen on VC, although I replaced my Gold gamepak's battery not too long ago and replayed it. It's currently in a Transfer Pak being used to play through Pokemon Stadium 2. Might get the VC release, I'll see.
@RadioHedgeFund
I tried using the face buttons for movement in Mario Hoops 3 on 3 but couldn't stand it. I ended up playing it right handed. It was still a bit annoying at first but I got use to it.
I haven't had much interest in getting Minecraft on consoles, PC has always been enough. The Switch, however, might tempt me. It's not the first portable Minecraft but the combination of home and handheld gaming is making the Switch more and more of the go to platform for multiplats like this.
I thought it already went gold since the release date's been on the eshop for a few days now. Haven't played the original but I've been seriously considering getting this on release as it loos really good.
I've had a blast playing this with friends on their PS4s, so having it on the Switch with the potential to start a game anywhere when I'm with friends would be amazing.
Not surprised UMvC3 got in, though I'm not complaining. A lot of people will be happy to see it included again and a good job was done at raising money.
Well looks like with Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony making you pay to play online, I won't ever be playing online again. Wonder how long Wii U servers for Smash and Mario Kart will stay up because that's really all I've played online this generation (well, mostly Smash, hardly play Mario Kart 8 these days).
@Mr_Zurkon The games just give you items pertaining to legendaries and event Pokemon so once you transfer from older generations, you can still make use of their abilities. For instance, there weren't any Shaymin distributions in Gen V but you could still get a Gracidea for having Shaymin in your party.
@roy130390
Brief annoyance sounds like that might be it. I mean, I managed to playthrough Oblivion that couldn't hold a steady frame rate a lot of the time. As long as it's not constant, or really bad to the point where your inputs don't even come out in time, it would just be a minor annoyance.
I guess playing it I might notice frame rate drops more but from what I've seen here, it wasn't too bad. WWHD had frame rate drops when there where several enemies on screen (like many other games I've played) but the frame rate looked fine when those camouflaged enemies pounced all together. There was no major slowdown.
Also I watched the video here and one Nintendo themselves uploaded. I thought I noticed more frame rate issues on Nintendo's video but did a side by side comparison and really couldn't tell. So maybe the videos have something to do with it?

Re: Square Enix's Hajime Tabata Hints That Final Fantasy XV Could Be Coming To Switch
I already have it on PS4 and the pocket edition just looks...bizarre. If it comes to the Switch, that's good but I won't be getting it.

Yep, the 30th for Australia.

He doesn't have to if he has a translator with him, which is the case for the directors/producers on the Treehouse streams.
