Nintendo kicked off the 3D Classics line shortly after the 3DS eShop launched, offering gamers a chance at reliving retro games through a different perspective. Unfortunately, the company never took the idea much further beyond the initial few games, but SEGA has carried the torch and created dozens of 3D remasters from its massive backlog of classic games. These have been gathered in three physical collections—the second of which launched in the West as SEGA 3D Classics Collection—and the third one only just released in Japan this week.
As with any game released for 3DS, an accompanying Miiverse page has also gone live, but an interesting detail has been spotted. When the page for Sega 3D Fukkoku Archives 3: Final Stage is viewed in the West, it shows up as SEGA 3D Classics Collection 2. That's no confirmation of its launch here in the West, but it is nonetheless an interesting sign that could be pointing towards a future release.
What do you think? Will we get another SEGA 3D Classics collection? What was your favorite SEGA 3D Classics game? Drop us a comment in the section below.

Sega does what Nintendon't!
Yes please!
That Colection looks amazing. Unlike the previous one, in this one all the games are freaking amazing (even if I personally don't like Sonic 2, I still know is a geat beloved game).
Hercules does what Nintendercules.
@Azikira yep
There's a chance it could be hacked in. Miiverse has been hacked before.
A Sega 3D Classics 2 would be great, but don't get your hopes up.
Phantasy Star 1-4 remasters would be greatly appreciated on the 3DS. Faceplates would be a cherry on top but I won't be greedy.
Man I need this just for Alien Syndrome! C'mon, SEGA!
I don't see the community on MiiVerse, in NA. Is it still up elsewhere?
@masterLEON
The article says when viewing the community in the west, so I assume it means viewing the Japanese Miiverse community for it.
I always felt that while the one we currently have is pretty cool, it did feel a tad off sonce there were 3D Sega games not included in the compilation. This sequel collection would make sense as a means to rectify that
Not a fan of SEGA, despite i'm interested to play MaiMai Arcade.
Hoping to see some serious Sega support for the Switch! Say that ten times fast. Would love to have some niche titles like Pulseman, Gunstar Heroes, and (even the more recent) Tembo the Badass Elephant on a Nintendo home console.
The Sega 3D classics are incredible. But I thought getting a physical release of multiple eshop games killed our hopes for a sequel here.
Seeing as the third one is out in Japan already its about time.
Don't make this Argos exclusive for the United Kingdom!
@JTMnM
Some casual games from SEGA like Yume no Neko NDS are perfect for Switch. Nintendo will focus on Nintendogs while SEGA will focus on SEGANyan.
@AlphaJaguar everybody loves Argos.
Yeah, no Argos exclusive please! How random was that whole marketing move!?
I'd take a second one since i still enjoy the first. Altered Beast, while a bit naff, is sort of fun
I'm so glad Sega took up the mantle of the 3D Classics line. Their games look great and I have really enjoyed them.
@Oscarzxn I agree with you about Sonic 2. It's become too over saturated. Thats why i don't like it
That would be quite amazing to suddenly get the third collection as second western collection.
Sega could really you know blow peoples minds and release Yakuza 1&2 HD collection as digital release in Wii U eShop as well.
I hope we see a european release.
I'm a really big fan of Retro compilations.
I just want 3D Sonic 3 and Knuckles (if that exists)!
Please Sega!!!
did the first collection even sell that well?
You know what to do guys, flood that Miiverse page with "Please bring this to America/Europe/Where ever you live!!!!" posts.
@LegendOfPokemon
I'm with you.
I just want the entire Sonic collection in 3D.
We need Sonic 3, Sonic & Knuckes, and the content unlocked when together.
Cool! I'd buy it. Failing that, I'd love to see Streets Of Rage 3 3D!
DAT YELLOW BUTT THO
Definitely up for this more than it's predecessor. Thunderforce 3 and alien syndrome are the highlights for me.
Ken's art is amazing <3
