@ottoecamn I wouldn't consider Xenoblade 2's english version being unchanged. Yeah they kept the boobas but the dialogue was mucked up.

@Thomystic you should've noticed it was a minor typo, with 9 and 0 being next to each other on a keyboard.

Yeah this felt obvious. Who else were FIFA going to turn to for the license? 2K? Konami already has a football game out. But this is still kind of wild to see it, given the history between FIFA and PES.

Devs seem to be the same as those Nickelodeon kart racers, and the DreamWorks one. The first Nick game was pretty bad, but apparently the follow ups were quite solid. It would be funny if it happened again and the Looney Tunes Sports 2 turns out as a banger.

@HammerGalladeBro They said the game is a bit shorter than the original Generations. How much shorter is a mystery, there's looking to be around 7 zones (before this DLC) as opposed to 9 in the original, but also an open world hub, more story focus and the levels are longer in length too (First stage is like 5-6 minutes compared to Green Hill being 2-ish minutes). I'm guessing it'll be as long as Sonic Forces was - 4 to 5 hours - with Sonic Generations being closer to 10, including side content.

Like Forces, this would probably be a $40 game by itself, but they threw in a Sonic Generations "remaster" (more of a port with some small new additions) to bump it up to $50 - $60 with the Deluxe Edition.

@MirrorFate2 I get what you mean but this is the one game where it would make sense to bring them back, and they aren't gonna stick around after this game is over. It's an interesting opportunity for characterisation. Imagine someone close to you died, eventually you learn to move on from the grief, but then years later that person shows up alive, exactly as you remembered them - how would you react?

@Bratwurst35 You're not wrong about Keanu, though he has carved out a niche for himself where he can excel with that limited range. Personally I think a character like Shadow can fit into that niche, but that's just me. Not my first choice for the role but I can dig it.

@larryisaman Yeah I mean if consumers can tell and understand the difference between an iPhone 14 and 15, a Samsung Galaxy S21 to S22, PS4 to PS5, etc. they can understand the difference between a Switch and Switch 2. This was never a problem for the Game Boys and DS/3DS.

@Maubari No, I don't think we will be doing that. Nintendo have never had a handheld that flopped. 3DS looked like a DS too.

@LadyCharlie I don't know if this really has any bearing on whether or not an announcement is imminent. Anyone still buying a Switch this late probably isn't fussed about wanting the new thing if they waited this long, and the existence of new hardware is already officially confirmed, we just haven't seen the thing yet.

@Maubari Yeah there's a shot later in the trailer with Tails flying out of it and you can see some of looks like moustache looking protrusions in the back. That's what convinced me this is meant to be the film's equivalent to the ARK.

I'm not surprised they'd make the ARK a bit smaller here. Given the relatively grounded world of the films so far, a moon sized colony being secretly built by the US government in the 70s might be too out there - so far the more fantastical elements have come from the "aliens" and not humans. The question is, what is it doing beneath London exactly?

@Maubari The ARK is there, it's that thing rising up from the Thames. It's just not a massive space colony this time, more of a regular space station/ship.

@KITG_GROUP @Carck I was about to say this. People love pretending they only make Sonic, Yakuza and Persona but they regularly release other titles, and they've announced revivals of multiple 90s era IP which you think would make people satisfied but apparently not.

@FullMetalWesker No that's definitely the real boxart. The remaster added Dante and Funky Kong, you must have missed those substories.

It's fitting that they concluded the series with Tokyo 2020, Japan being the birthplace of both franchises. The series had a good run overall, decent first game, excellent Wii follow ups, the quality dipped on Wii U, but went back up for the final entry.

@AdolBannings-Laylee You're getting an actual campaign. At least 4 zones (probably a few more than that, plus that DLC later on if you get the deluxe edition) with 2 acts each and a hub world in the style of one of the islands from Frontiers, multiple boss fights.

Not at all what any of us were expecting, but a new Famicom Detective Club game after so many years is pretty cool to be honest.

@larryisaman It's entirely possible they rebooted after Ancel's retirement. This kind of scope creep was a problem for his other vapourware project, PS4's WiLD. He seemed to insist on having his games become these massive experiences, and I could see the team narrowing the focus once he departed if only so they could actually have something to release.

Good. The ones we got before sucked, the first one was the only one with any important details. I'd be content if we didn't get anymore.

I'd be pretty surprised if we see a Mario and Sonic announcement. The Paris games are next month. We've seen Nintendo announce and release games within a close window like that, but those are Sega published, and we usually know about them far in advance. Most of the time they're released the year before.

I just don't think it's happening this year.

Probably a contractual obligation from the Lego company to put it on at least Switch, similar to MLB mandating The Show becoming multiplatform.

@The_Dragons_Mouth You can get them on Switch right now. The catch is they're Japan only, so they may as well be unavailable unless you're proficient in the language. No idea what the holdup is for an English release, the localisations already exist.

Nasty? MK1 isn't any worse on Switch than 11 is. Considering it's more technically ambitious than 11, it's more impressive. Not fair to judge the game purely on day one troubles that were fixed quickly.

@Thomystic MK1 had issues at launch (publisher deadline), but was patched up quickly. It's no worse than MK11 which people said was a good port.

@PikaPhantom Shiver probably has contracts for games on other platforms and Nintendo is just letting them finish their work. After they fulfil the contracts I wouldn't expect them to be developing games on non-Nintendo platforms.

@Warioware I'm getting the impression that we won't be seeing the re-releases going forward. Look at P3 Reload, they're doing an expansion pass when people were expecting them to have a re-release for the Answer. Yes, Vengeance is coming after that game, but it's a multiplatform release of an exclusive game, so I think it works as an exception. Tying up a loose end.

@Lizuka Vanilla P5 is a different experience from Royal. Vengeance has the original SMTV in it.

I don't really understand what difference it would make on Switch sales. It's already official that new hardware is coming. Sales will already be affected by people choosing to wait.

By the end of the fiscal year, but they won't be showing it in June. So it'll be coming out around March 2025. That delay rumour seems to be accurate then?

@RareFan There's enough depth in Knuckles to theoretically carry a mini series, but CGI creatures are more expensive to animate than a guy.
