Animal Crossing: New Horizons is just over two months away from finally landing in our laps, and UK retailers have started to reveal the pre-order bonuses you can get by picking up a copy ahead of launch.
We'll go through the ones that have been brought to our attention in a list below; it's currently unclear which other countries will have these on offer (we're hearing that the keyrings are also being advertised at EB Games in Australia) but we'd find it highly likely that at least some of these will also arrive across Europe and North America.
We'll kick things off with the official Nintendo UK Store, which is actually offering two different bundle options. Both are available for £49.99; you can choose to snag either a tote bag or a set of pins featuring the series' most famous faces.
- Buy: Animal Crossing: New Horizons with Tote Bag - Nintendo UK Store
- Buy: Animal Crossing: New Horizons with Pins Pack- Nintendo UK Store
Next up is GAME, which is also offering the new title for £49.99 with the Animal Crossing Tote Bag. GAME says that stock is limited.
Amazon UK has now released its pre-order bonus, too, offering a microfibre cloth thats exclusive to the store. You can grab this bundle for £44.99, which at the time of writing is the same price as the standalone game.
Next up, from Smyths, is this exclusive Animal Crossing Notepad and Sticker Sheet. It looks like you'll get stickers of series stars like Isabelle, K.K. Slider and Tom Nook, as well as some iconic scenery pieces and character faces. This bundle will cost you £44.99 (or £5 less if you collect in-store).
Next we head to ShopTo, an online retailer currently offering the game alongside a Tom Nook keyring; ShopTo says that it's exclusive to its store (although, again, we imagine this exclusivity refers to the UK market only). You can get this one for £42.85.
Next is Argos, which also has a keyring on offer. Argos is selling the game for slightly more than ShopTo at £44.99, but the keying you'll receive is K.K. Slider. If everyone's favourite musical dog is worth the extra quid to you, go for it.
And finally, SimplyGames rounds off the keyring set with Isabelle. At the time of writing, this option is only £41.85.
We'll be sure to share a more detailed pre-order guide for the game closer to launch, so keep checking back with us to keep on top of the latest news surrounding the game's release.

I would love some pre-order bonuses for using another voucher! They haven't officially announced it for the voucher program yet, right? Saving one for this game in particular.
While i'm focusing on hunting PS3 & PSP games during January until June 2020, Animal Crossing New Horizons will be Day One for me.
Urgh, whilst I love me some swag this is gonna be one of those games that's going to be digital. It got on my nerves having to constantly switch discs/cartridges to do my daily gubbins on past iterations, and going digital on 3DS was an absolute godsend.
Given how much it irritates me to have to switch games on my Switch as well (that cartridge cover always feels like its gonna break...), I'm gonna have to go digital again.
Hmm hanging on to see what amazon may offer
@AhabSpampurse you couldn't have described it better... Same for me.
@AhabSpampurse I agree defo a digital game. That and brain training as it is a daily exercise
@krvstkvlt Would love to do the same/
It's worth noting you can get it for £44.99 in-store at Smyths as there's £5 off if you pre-order for an in-store collection.
Super plushy super plushy super plushy super er errrrrr plushyyyyy!
That tote bag is mine!
Simply games have the Isabelle key ring. The game collection offer no key rings but it's under £40.
Would like this digital but I've pretty much gone physical only for the switch where possible.
Wait a minute! That Tote bag isn't made out of Canvas, ITS MADE OUT OF NYLON!!! BOYCOTT ANIMAL CROSSING NEW HORIZONS!!!
Not planning on getting this for quite a while yet (too many other things to play) but if I was... I’d wait for the inevitable Nintendo UK Special/Limited Edition, which will come with a Steelbook case, the notebook and keyrings shown above, a new Isabelle amiibo, a Lloid-shaped lamp, and Tom Nook’s personal bank account details...
I'm actually hoping there are no decent preorder bonuses or collector's ed. Reason being that whilst I am normally a physical only guy if there was one game that I would get digitally it's Animal Crossing. So I'm planning on using those great value Nintendo Online vouchers unless an awesome special edition swings me back the other way.
Alternatively, if you're not interested in plastic tat then head on over to Base and preorder there for under 40 quid.
Dang no steelbook. Would love it to have one with it.
I'd love a roll of Animal Crossing toilet paper so you can mimic the cylindrical world while sitting on the toilet.
Ahh I was hoping for some, hard to find, in game furniture or something lol
great ... and in europe amazon lists that game still at 70€ ~~ 60 pounds. hope they will soon correct the price to the lower 60€price tag and add the preorder bonuses
For the first time I’m really wanting to get digital here since I am not going to want to be swapping out carts every day... but NOW I really want that KK keychain and/or the sticker sheet and notebook. .... and that tote bag.... ugh I want it all.
Hoping there’s some kind of double gold points or something with the digital release though.
Like many have stated, ac can be good to have digitally but I still have Best Buy gamers rewards unlocked and frankly I’d love to save $13. Savings over convenience for me
@AhabSpampurse
Switching cartridges / disc is fun thing to do for me since i play games in physical.
Meanwhile in America...
@Anti-Matter ha, I tend to get physical these days purely for limited edition stuff.
I'll be the first to acknowledge that I'm super lazy with gaming too. The majority of Switch games get carried around in my work bag, so if I'm flopped down in front of the TV then realise I need to go downstairs to get the case to change a title, you know I'm gonna play something on the internal memory instead...
There's also the matter of space. Considering I've been hoarding stuff since NES days across multiple platforms and manufacturers, you know my wife is getting pretty p*ssed about the room I'm taking up...
@eRaz0r Smyths have it for 60€ with 5 off on preorder as well as the notebook and sticker collection. This is in Ireland, not sure about the rest of europe.
I want everything. Notepad, keychains, you name it.
That tote bag is lovely... thank goodness I’m in the US where that isn’t an option and I can safely get digital without losing out on a preorder bonus (at this time). Getting physical for this game would be a mistake, and I already wish I went digital for Pokémon (given how often I have to switch it in).
@NEStalgia More like meanwhile outside the UK
@AhabSpampurse
Use HORI card case 24 to store all Switch cartridges and you can continue buying more physical games.
If you pre-order the game through 365 Games, you'll get a free Isabelle key-ring.

"Likely find some of these in North America." Maybe in the U.S., but Canada and Mexico (two countries that NintendoLife prefers to pretend they don't exist)? Fat chance of that happening. Canada NEVER gets pre-order goodies nowadays.
@RupeeClock thanks.
I thought it was going to be an Isabelle plushie. Shame on you, Ryan!
French retailer Fnac.com lists it at €45.99 (£39) with an extra €10 voucher as a preorder bonus (for site members). Don't know if it works for foreign shipping though https://jeux-video.fnac.com/a12500543/Animal-Crossing-New-Horizons-Nintendo-Switch-Jeu-Nintendo-Switch#omnsearchpos=1
@Rob3008 Smyth's is mostly my go to for games because of the €5 discount.
I got New Leaf digitally for free back when Nintendo was running their buy 3 get the 4th game free offer for 3DS and was glad I did. I doubt I would have put so many hours into that game if I'd had to keep swapping cartrisges to play it each day.
How bout the pre-order bonus be an early release. I'm free starting Saturday morning. Doh! Sorry. I don't want any game devs dying from overwork. But I'm not adverse to some Corp shaming for the delay.
@DarthFoxMcCloud
Everyone knows Canada isn’t even a real country.
That's even worse the Animal Farm that had the box Barn. Common we need better here.
sorry all trash
@Fandabidozi More of a country than yours is right now.
@AhabSpampurse,
Why are you going to hit that cartridge cover with a hammer?, they feel pretty robust to me.
@ryancraddock Smyths have dropped their price to £44.99 with the notebook and stickers. If you order online and collect in store you can save yourself an extra fiver - bringing it down to £39.99.
@farmer_humpf Thanks! I've updated the article 🙂
I’d like the box, but I’m really thinking digital is the way to go with AC. It’s a jump in and jump out on the fly kind of game.
Animal Crossing will be one game i'll go digital for. Most of my Switch collection (1st party games) are physical, however something like this will be perfect digital. Wish i went digital with New Leaf as i was always playing it (probably put in over 800 hours alone with that game.
@johnvboy it's probably just me. Plus, I've got one of the day 1 Switch units that's showing its age now for sure.
The heat cracks on the top of the unit are affecting both sides, and the fan also rattles at start up now. I treat the unit better than my kids, but I could definitely benefit from a new one. Here's hoping that rumoured pro edition comes out this year...
@AhabSpampurse,
I got mine at launch, and my only issue is the grey left joycon does not charge fully, apart from that I am good.
so fed up of nintendo uk doing these pre order items, why cant they just sell them separately.
This may be a rare digital purchase for me because it's one of those games that I know I'm going to dip in and out of frequently, but I'd love a Tom Nook or KK Slider keychain!
Those pins 😍 I haven’t used the official store before, normally go for the amazon ease (hellooo prime delivery) but these are just too cute. Love a pin!
Gamestop Ireland is doing the Tote bag as a pre-order bonus.
And yet again the North American market - a market which has done more than it's part to help keep this company afloat during all of its biggest mistakes and miscalculations- gets the middle finger again. 'Thanks for being unreasonably and impossibly loyal fans... now get bent'. Well... NoA can go screw itself.
Not too interested in this. Day 1 for sure, but I think I am going to go digital. Purely because I will be playing Animal Crossing daily as well as probably another title. It's rare that I choose digital when I don't have to, but for this specific style of game, it would be preferable to changing game cards over and over every single time I want to hop into the island for a few minutes.
I would like to see if they release an Animal Crossing Switch. Not a Lite, a Switch. If I liked the design, I would buy a new Switch with an AC theme.
these are always for the UK I never saw anything for the EU, is there even something like these here? Last time I tried something like that was for the SMM2 but found nothing for the EU...
I want all of the bonuses, but, this is a game that is going to be better as a digital game for me, since I'll be playing it off and on for a long time probably and it's going to be a big hassle dealing with a cartridge.
Would it have been so bad to do a version with the pins AND tote? >_<
@DarthFoxMcCloud
Whoooosh
This will be my first Animal Crossing game. Can you veterans suggest which of the 4 island layouts is the best? Thanks.
