And they're still not available on Switch. I'm sure they'll make their way into the Switch when Nintendo is phasing the system out and ready to launch their next console going by Pokémon's standards.
@-Green- But I don't want to speedrun a game to impose a little challenge on myself. The game should offer challenge on its own merits. Like I said, why not include difficulty options. Virtually every game features them these days, and it's a lot more accessible than just one mode.
@BlueOcean Yeah, either that, or like I said, they'll put in some crazy difficult secret boss for the end credits and call it a day. Because ''if you're looking for that challenge, it's there...''. I don't know. I hope they can surprise me, but it would be stupid if they dumbed it down because they think that people can't play games.
What happened to difficulty settings? Nintendo never seems to include those. Literally any other game can be played on a variety of settings from easy to hard, and often with a ''zero challenge mode'' and ''bone-crushing mode'' or something along those lines.
@Ambassador_Kong I don't think that's true. The problem is that the challenging part is often part of the end-game. And the difficulty ramps up suddenly to a point where it isn't even fun anymore. It needs to be more balanced. The main stuff needs to be harder, and the difficulty ramp in the end game need to be lower IMO.
I've learned that any game featuring pirates from the last 10 years or so has disappointed me, so I'm not getting my hopes up. But it looks... alright?
I don't know. Paper Mario (Color Splash) was incredibly easy, to the point that it became tedious to do the battles (especially since there were essentially no rewards either). It sounds like this hasn't changed a lot with Origami King, so I don't see what he means by ''what we’ve done in the Paper Mario series is to put a lot of work particularly into the puzzle solving elements of the games, so that they can also be enjoyed by core users.''
Unless I'm missing the puzzles he's talking about, but there was nothing in that game I'd call an actual puzzle.
@scottishwildcat I mean, all we know is that it ends in ''n*******.**.**''; so it could be nintendo.co.jp, but it could also be ''niblebut.ms.ps'' for all we know. As long as the first character matches the official email, and contains the same number of characters you can't tell the difference.
So the battle system isn't all that fun and sounds like it's tedious. Yeah, that was my main criticism with Color Splash, so I'll give this one a pass.
I don't care if they call this an RPG or not, but if you're going to have turn-based battles that take up a lot of time, I do expect them to be fun and rewarding.
@71nk0 I mean, if you want to make a fake account, the only visible thing is parts of the email, so you'd get at least that right to make it believable. It's literally the only thing you can/have to do.
@MarioBrickLayer Assuming there is a BOTW3. I really hope not. The thing that made Zelda games great is that they were all a bit different. If they did three similar games in a row, that would be bit boring.
@BetterThanVegas TBH, it doesn't look that good. Nintendo could do a better job.
Additionally, if you start to hire everyone who does a decent fan project, you're only going to encourage more people to mod your games in the hopes of getting a job at Nintendo, which is probably not the thing Nintendo wants.
@Batty5 TBH, I hadn't seen any of the leaks. When I played the game my initial reaction was, what were they complaining about? When I reached a certain point I thought; 'this must be the part, and I'm not sure I agree with it'. However, I've now reached a point where I do think it wasn't that questionable as I first thought. It's bold and unexpected, but I do appreciate them for taking the risk instead of making a very safe sequel. I think that playing the game definitely helps, because it's so much more than a few story beats that were leaked on Reddit.
@Curly_Brace I think that's just an illusion. If you zoom in it's hard to tell; it's a very low quality image, so it's probably just your brain telling you that it looks like a regular B.
@nessisonett @Otoemetry It goes even further than that. Since Tencent is by proxi part of the Chinese government (they own any large Chinese in practice), stuff like this get uncomfortably political. Especially since China is very strict on what is allowed and what not; i.e. censorship. So Tencent buying up stocks in major companies is effectively China taking more control over foreign companies. They've been doing it for years though, but in recent years they started to buy their way into the entertainment industry as well.

Re: Pikmin 3 Deluxe: 19 Glorious Screenshots, Box Art, File Size And More Details
Nintendo has delisted the digital version on Wii U. So you can't buy it for $20 anymore. That's pretty low.
Re: Pikmin 3 Deluxe Officially Announced For Switch, Includes All DLC And New Content
I guess that's one reason to stick with Xbox. Microsoft lets you play your old games for free
Not really looking forward to paying full price for the additional Olimar and Louie stages. So unless it's €30 or something, I'll skip this one.
Re: Pikmin 3 Deluxe Officially Announced For Switch, Includes All DLC And New Content
Weird way of spelling Pikmin 4.
Re: Ex-Rare Composer David Wise Says He Would Be "Delighted" To Be Involved With Another Donkey Kong Country Game
Retro should have him compose a synthwave track for Metroid Prime 4.
Re: Community: What Do You Think Of Lego Super Mario, Then?
@TimboSlice Wait. So you don't want to ''support'' this, but you have it pre-ordered anyway. Logic.
Re: Random: The LEGO NES Has A Cool Super Mario Bros. Easter Egg Hidden Inside It
@Tasuki For a LEGO set it's relatively cheap, considering the number of pieces included in this set.
Re: Hideki Kamiya Insists Bayonetta 3's Development Is "Going Fine"
That's what they said about Pikmin 4.
Re: Overwatch Director Reminds Us Which Hero He Would Like To See In Smash Bros.
@JR150 "reduce the ban" = happy ending? He was still banned, it only lasted shorter, but I wouldn't say it was a happy end.
Re: Nintendo Is Deleting Hacked Dream Island Uploads In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
@Anti-Matter Yeah, but that's cheating, isn't it?
Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 'Clone' Genshin Impact Gets New Beta Footage Trailer
@Xaessya I don't remember Revali being a 13-year-old anime girl with boob armour and rabbit ears
Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 'Clone' Genshin Impact Gets New Beta Footage Trailer
Looks like BOTW with generic anime characters. Pass.

Re: Talking Point: Are You Prepared To Spend $70 On The Latest Games?
@TheFrenchiestFry 60USD = 93CAD. So you're not paying more...???
Re: Talking Point: Are You Prepared To Spend $70 On The Latest Games?
@TheFrenchiestFry Yeah, but US$ isn't the same as CAD$, so it's not like you're paying 90 US$...
So I don't get it when Canadians complain they have to pay even more, it's a different currency.
Re: Talking Point: Are You Prepared To Spend $70 On The Latest Games?
@Haruki_NLI BOTW was €70 on Switch as well. The price hike is already happening, just not in the US, and more gradual over here.

Also, they're a bit late if they want to celebrate this year. And apparently Paper Mario isn't part of that celebration. Weird.
Re: Fans Have Discovered A Private Mario 35th Anniversary Twitter Account
Anyone can create an account, right? Moving on.
Re: Nintendo Will Reportedly Release A $250 LEGO NES Console Next Month
@sanderev Yeah, I expected this to be €300 at least. So it's actually quite reasonable priced compared to standard LEGO sets.

That may seal the deal.
I dunno. I'm definitely playing them back to back. Got no time to wait for discounts.

This or Ghost of Tsushima.

Re: Nintendo Scraps The Sale Of Digital Game Download Codes At European Retailers
@NEStalgia Depends on what kind of uranium. If it's U238, all you need is a few millimetres of lead, regardless of how many tons you have.

@NEStalgia Competition is so 2019. Embrace the future.
Re: Metroid Prime 4 Dev Retro Studios Continues Exciting Hire Spree With Call Of Duty: Black Ops Veteran
@BrettAwesome So it was released on Wii U then, right?
Re: Metroid Prime 4 Dev Retro Studios Continues Exciting Hire Spree With Call Of Duty: Black Ops Veteran
@retro_player_77 Right, because Metroid Prime Trilogy is what we need. Can't wait to play Metroid Prime again for the fourth time
Seriously, it has been released on every consecutive system since the Cube.
