My left Joy Con started experiencing drift last week. I play Mario 64 with the Pro Controller, but Galaxy with the Joy Con is getting very annoying now. I don't want to buy a new set either, they're quite expensive, and they haven't solved the issue as far as I'm aware.
@tech7 It's the only game I know inside out, and I'm 99% certain there is a speed difference, with the slower one being easier to control on the flipside. I may test it out later today since I have yet to get the second star from that mission.
@imgrowinglegs We have around 50 or so different retailers that sold the game over here, and they're all sold out, since the day pre-orders opened pretty much.
@carlos82 @JohnnyC That's the question, do you review the games, or do you review this as a remaster/collection? IMO it should be reviewed as the latter. If I want to look up reviews for those three games, I can already do so. I specifically want to know the changes made to them, additional options, etc. And that doesn't sound like a 10/10 to me. The games are brilliant, but this collection is as bare bones as it can be.
Not being able to invert the controls in Sunshine is really stupid. This should be a standard accessibility option to begin with. Why they removed it is beyond baffling to me.
All of this further confirms to me that Nintendo did the bare minimum to make this a presentable package for $60. They could've done so much more with this...
@Heavyarms55 3 isn't as good as 1 or 2, but there's plenty to make a game out of. It's just as big as your average City SIM, so I don't see how something with the scope of RCT can be a part of it. The campaigns were brilliant. I must've played the first game for hundreds of hours back in the day.
@WickedUnicarnBoi Nobody knows, and that's the frustrating part. For all we know it's a single print run. They're not going to say that, because they want you to buy the game NOW.
@Maxz @BenAV Reminds me of those games that came with a box of cereals. I think I got LEGO Racers with a package of cookies at some point. Croc was also part of a weird bundle at some point I believe...
@whodatninja Yeah, that's my biggest gripe as well. I already own the game. I would love to play Bowser's Fury, but it's being gatelocked behind another game. I don't see why they can't release it on its own as well.
@Menardi Regarding the choice of platforms, you have to remember that all games are developed on PC, so a PC release is quite easy. After that it becomes a question of who has the biggest user base, that's currently PS4. PS4 and Xbox are also quite similar to PC in terms of architecture, and are on average easier to develop for than Switch, and I think that also plays a role.
It's the reason why nearly all games target PC, PS4 is also a popular choice. Xbox is an easy choice after that because it has a similar architecture, but has a smaller user base (possibly even smaller than Switch, but MS doesn't release sales numbers anymore). Switch does have one big advantage, and that's like you said better visibility. It won't be drowned in a sea of other options. But I think that the different system architecture is a bigger hurdle than you may think.
@Menardi It's a risk not everyone is willing to take. You have to remember that the N64 didn't do amazing either, and that's over 20 years ago, so you also have to assume that every Rare fan still owns a Nintendo console and doesn't have a PC or PS4 at the same time. And of course that's assuming this only appeals to Rare fans as well. Everyone can enjoy any type of game.
Also, this only two ex-Rare employees worked on this game if I'm not mistaken.
@0nett They're still fixing the game, little glitches, bugs, making updates, new costumes, preparing for season 2. And remember, they're just a small team, and they never expected this kind of success. They're hardly keeping up with the two platforms they are on right now. I don't see the situation getting better if they also have to port them to other systems and maintain those as well. Small steps. It'll come to other systems eventually. Probably later this year.
@FragRed If you haven't already, you can try PS+ for free for two weeks, and download the game with it. That's what I did, and I'm essentially playing the game for free now.
It's a €20 game, so I may put that towards a 3-month PS+ sub instead, so I can continue to keep playing. I already got the game for free, so it's not really a loss in that case.
@Friendly It's not that. They're a small indie team, and they said that can only support so many platforms at the same time. They'll probably bring it over to Switch and Xbox soon.

Re: Switch Can Break The Traditional Hardware Cycle And Become Nintendo's iPhone, Says Analyst
So what you're saying is that 10 years from now we'll be buying $100 adapters to plug in headphones?

Re: Nintendo Wins $2 Million In Lawsuit Against Switch Piracy Hack Store
@Retro_Player_77 $2 million is about the budget of three brand new Pokemon games, so they're good for now.
Re: The Latest Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update Has Removed Harv's Hacked Fences
@dux The solution is to make them available to everyone, not remove it.

It's too bad the warriors gameplay is the most boring and tedious thing in existence.

@tech7 Are you sure about that? I recall the green one being definitely slower than the pink one, even when pressing forward.
Re: Random: Super Mario Sunshine Trick Lets You Safely Jump Off Those Pesky Bloopers
It's not that hard, just time your jump. Git gud.

@Spanjard YEAH IT IS. Absolute madness.
Re: Here's Your First Look At The Main Menu In Super Mario 3D All-Stars
For Sunshine they have just the box art, but for Galaxy it's the whole box, the plastic case with the box art, as you can see the white rim.

A box with individually wrapped cookies. Only in Japan.

@Silly_G I know right. That logo was dated when it came out on the SNES. Doesn't look much better today.

A 10 minute video to show something that a single picture can do. Good job lol.
Re: Immortals: Fenyx Rising Launches This December, According To Microsoft
The main character looks terribly generic. The whole game lacks something unique if you ask me.
Re: Super Mario 3D All-Stars Lands On Switch On 18th September, And It's A Limited-Time Thing
@sanderev I guess that makes it even worse. Manufactured demand.
Re: Super Mario 3D All-Stars Lands On Switch On 18th September, And It's A Limited-Time Thing
Anti-consumer practice is anti-consumer.
They're only doing this to generate the illusion of scarcity, so more people will buy it sooner.
