Re: Nintendo's Old HQ Is Being Turned Into A Hotel

NoTinderLife

Nintendo used to operate love hotel, so it's appropriate.

"You wouldn't know the three-story stone structure—a rarity in a country that historically favors wood—is anything special if you missed the plaque that reads, "The Nintendo Playing Card Co." The windows are dark. Some cardboard boxes are visible in the second story window. You also wouldn't know that the area houses several Yakuza strongholds, unless you'd talked to the locals. The area looks safe and sleepy by Western standards."

Re: Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training For Nintendo Switch Is Out Today, Here's The Launch Trailer

Get the digital copy if you can. There's no need for stylus, finger works fine. Swapping cartridge everyday to play 10 mins of Brain Training is tedious, you will end up not playing it, and disappointing Dr Kawashima's floating head.

This is the first game that show off the alarm feature of the new firmware, it startled me the first time it rang. The Joycon light was blinking and vibrating.

Just buy the Japanese version, it's out since last week. It has English and all European languages.

You don't really need the stylus, finger works fine. TV mode only has 6 games, not enough to me but it's cheap. I think there will be a lot of DLC for this title.

Why didn't Nintendo made this for the mobile devices? It uses vertical screen orientation and you play daily for only 10 mins, it's perfect for the phone.

Re: Random: Chinese Retailer Tries To Blame Switch Joy-Con Drift On Foreign Games

NoTinderLife

Due to the trade war, Chinese government is spreading anti-foreign goods propaganda. Anything imported is bad, only their local products are good. According to the news, their phone maker Huawei is now making phones with 100% Chinese components, since US tech companies are not allowed to sell parts to them.

You will never see Xbox making an appearance in China, Nintendo had to use Tencent as a proxy to get into China's market.

This is not a finished product. Frame-rate is not stable, it lags and there's no support for touchscreen or HD Rumble.

After experiencing Pinball FX's HD Rumble implementation, Pinball just doesn't feel the same without it. Pinball FX has solid 60 fps, how can this 16 bit graphics lag even with some eye candy removed?

@Spideron Are you familiar with 64K demos scene? https://files.scene.org

They have annual competitions in Northern Europe, sometimes it's even sponsored by Intel. They code in 100% assembler, producing extraordinary small file size app that display visuals that surpassed most current games. Most of them don't rely on GPU, just pure CPU using Assembler coding.

They are the last 'descendent' of the C64/Amiga communities who still code in Assembler.
