Re: Nintendo Responds To Cancellation Of E3 2020, Says It Will Consider "Various Ways" To Engage With Fans

NoTinderLife

No Europeans allowed into US, how will E3 work? Ubisoft, CD Projekt Red and other Euro game companies will be absent.

Tokyo 2020 Olympics will be cancelled too. It will become Olympics Direct, streamed directly to you - no audience present.

On the bright side, the pandemic is good for the video games industry, everyone will be quarantined and playing video games at home.

(Don't forget to sanitize your joy-cons folks!)

Re: Frostbite Engine Support For Nintendo Switch Might Still Happen, According To New EA Job Listing

Most likely it's for Switch Pro. The new console won't run in 4K or perform better but the new Nvidia chip will have better looking graphics.

Nvidia Volta is built for AI and machine learning, imagine what Nintendo can do with it? More intelligent games, with human-like AI behaviour or even learn from you and beat you with your own strategy. Maybe those procedural generated levels will look totally unique?

Re: A Trilogy Of Kingdom Rush Tower-Defense Games Are Coming To Switch, Starting With Frontiers

NoTinderLife

Yes they are the best Tower Defense game on any platform.

I played all of them on the iPad. The first game is free on the App store, try it and get hooked! What I disliked about the later games is the micro-transaction even after paying the full game. I hope they get rid of it for the Switch version.

Maybe they will port Iron Marines to Switch too, it's their latest game. It's not TD, it's more like Starcraft, RTS game.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Explores The Potential Of AI Upscaling Tech For A Theoretical Switch 'Pro'

NoTinderLife

They said the Switch Pro has no improvement in performance. So why is that a new console?

The upgrade will be "something else", not performance. It's most likely AI/Machine learning to create new gameplay mechanics (not just upscaling). Even Apple haven't figure out how to make full use of AI/ML, they only used it for face recognition and improving the camera. In Nintendo's hands, AI/ML will blossomed, revealing it's full potential in games. Nvidia is currently the leader in AI/ML hardware, which is probably why Nintendo chose them to supply the chips for their console. Nintendo had planned this roadmap years ago.

Re: Review: Mosaic - Biting Social Commentary Masquerading As A Video Game

@HappyMaskedGuy Progress is not judged by technological advances. You think computer is advance? If there's a global catastrophe today, none of our knowledge will survived. All information is stored in servers, hard drives, disks. A thousand years from now, nothing will survived. The ancients were smarter, carving everything in stones, the knowledge will last forever.

In the end, it's all about happiness. What's the point of technology if we ended up in a dystopian society because of it?

Re: Review: Mosaic - Biting Social Commentary Masquerading As A Video Game

The irony of using technology to go against technology.

But seriously, technology is a monster we created. Take the internet for example, we feed it with images, musics, videos, stories and everything about our lives. The entire human experience is living in the servers, now with AI learning these huge glob of data, it will learn everything about human without being human. It will know our weaknesses, what we desire, what we think and even what we look like. We are all responsible for this monster.

Re: Sony Is Asking PS4 Owners If They Want Remote Play On The Nintendo Switch

@Antraxx777 Another thing that most people aren't thinking of is the PSVR portable. Since Mobile chips are reaching the speed of PS4, it will be possible to make a portable standalone PSVR without the need for wires connected to PS4. It's like Oculus Quest, which is the future of VR.

So a portable PS4 could easily be a self-contained VR headset. Again, it can launch with hundreds of games available in the digital store.

Re: Review: AO Tennis 2 - A Decent Tennis Sim Ruined By Woeful Performance On Switch

Tennis World Tour is actually a very good Tennis game.

When it first launched, there's a lot of bugs and features missing, but it was all patched up. The game runs at 60 fps, has Nadal and Roger Federer, more players and real stadiums built in, not to mention better looking graphics. The best part is the gameplay, which surprises me. I always like Sega Virtua Tennis, however after playing Tennis World Tour I can't go back to the arcady Tennis anymore. TWT is the most realistic Tennis game on the market that simulate the game really well.
