Switch is going through a drought since the beginning of this year. It's all B Grade games in the last few weeks. When is the next Nintendo Direct? Besides Animal Crossing, nothing new from Nintendo has been revealed (and Animal Crossing was supposed to launch in May last year!).
I like the iOS Groove Coaster, why can't Taito just make something similar for Switch? Why do they have to add these girlie things to the game and put cartoon voices to it? The original game feels like Lumines/Tetris Effect, this game for Switch is just so childish and makes me cringe.
Most likely it's for Switch Pro. The new console won't run in 4K or perform better but the new Nvidia chip will have better looking graphics.
Nvidia Volta is built for AI and machine learning, imagine what Nintendo can do with it? More intelligent games, with human-like AI behaviour or even learn from you and beat you with your own strategy. Maybe those procedural generated levels will look totally unique?
Yes they are the best Tower Defense game on any platform.
I played all of them on the iPad. The first game is free on the App store, try it and get hooked! What I disliked about the later games is the micro-transaction even after paying the full game. I hope they get rid of it for the Switch version.
Maybe they will port Iron Marines to Switch too, it's their latest game. It's not TD, it's more like Starcraft, RTS game.
Nintendo left out a recognisable character but includes all these FE characters that no one cares about. There has to be a reason: either Nintendo is planning to make a Waluigi game and will include him later in Smash Bros, or Nintendo just doesn't care.
They said the Switch Pro has no improvement in performance. So why is that a new console?
The upgrade will be "something else", not performance. It's most likely AI/Machine learning to create new gameplay mechanics (not just upscaling). Even Apple haven't figure out how to make full use of AI/ML, they only used it for face recognition and improving the camera. In Nintendo's hands, AI/ML will blossomed, revealing it's full potential in games. Nvidia is currently the leader in AI/ML hardware, which is probably why Nintendo chose them to supply the chips for their console. Nintendo had planned this roadmap years ago.
@HappyMaskedGuy Progress is not judged by technological advances. You think computer is advance? If there's a global catastrophe today, none of our knowledge will survived. All information is stored in servers, hard drives, disks. A thousand years from now, nothing will survived. The ancients were smarter, carving everything in stones, the knowledge will last forever.
In the end, it's all about happiness. What's the point of technology if we ended up in a dystopian society because of it?
The irony of using technology to go against technology.
But seriously, technology is a monster we created. Take the internet for example, we feed it with images, musics, videos, stories and everything about our lives. The entire human experience is living in the servers, now with AI learning these huge glob of data, it will learn everything about human without being human. It will know our weaknesses, what we desire, what we think and even what we look like. We are all responsible for this monster.
@Antraxx777 Another thing that most people aren't thinking of is the PSVR portable. Since Mobile chips are reaching the speed of PS4, it will be possible to make a portable standalone PSVR without the need for wires connected to PS4. It's like Oculus Quest, which is the future of VR.
So a portable PS4 could easily be a self-contained VR headset. Again, it can launch with hundreds of games available in the digital store.
Not as fun as Slay the Spire. If I want a story I will read a book or watch a movie, this is a video game I judge it by the gameplay. It lacks the addictive quality of Slay the Spire. I hate games that waste time making you gather resources, running around like a fool to pick things up - what's the point of that?
After launching PS5 at the end of this year, Sony can make a portable PS4 so people will continue buying the existing PS4 titles. It's an even better strategy than porting Wii U games to Switch. Sony don't even need to port the games, just recycled the games, selling it on a portable console.
@jarvismp If Sony launched PS4 Portable today selling at the same price as Switch (or maybe a little bit more), it will be a success unlike Vita because:
The latest iPhone's A13 chip is already faster than PS4. It should be easy to make a Portable PS4 cheaply a year from now. This handheld PS4 will have the entire PS4 library at it's disposal at launch, it will kill the Switch. Nintendo better ready themselves.
Personally I think Nintendo has went overboard with DLC this generation, especially with Smash Bros. They could have spent the time making new games instead.
It's already over a year since Smash released, Sakurai is still working on DLC. He could've made a new Kid Icarus game for Switch or ported KI: Uprising.
Tennis World Tour is actually a very good Tennis game.
When it first launched, there's a lot of bugs and features missing, but it was all patched up. The game runs at 60 fps, has Nadal and Roger Federer, more players and real stadiums built in, not to mention better looking graphics. The best part is the gameplay, which surprises me. I always like Sega Virtua Tennis, however after playing Tennis World Tour I can't go back to the arcady Tennis anymore. TWT is the most realistic Tennis game on the market that simulate the game really well.
The theme park is a real life fortnite. Why can't Nintendo make a game like the trailer? 100 people fighting to reach the flagpole, with all Smash Bros characters as avatars.
Witcher 3 looks good and interesting but it only last for a while before the honeymoon is over. I am not the only one who finds it boring, you can see many game streamers on Youtube or Twitch who only played it halfway.
Back in 2015, they said Pikmin 4 was almost finished. Then nothing happened since then.
Maybe they thought it's not worth releasing for Wii U, and re-developed it for Switch. But why it took so long? Could it be an open world Pikmin like BotW?
A Pikmin game is definitely coming this year. The Joycon is built for this game, picking the plants with motion control and HD rumble will feel so satisfying.

Re: Nintendo Responds To Cancellation Of E3 2020, Says It Will Consider "Various Ways" To Engage With Fans
No Europeans allowed into US, how will E3 work? Ubisoft, CD Projekt Red and other Euro game companies will be absent.
Tokyo 2020 Olympics will be cancelled too. It will become Olympics Direct, streamed directly to you - no audience present.
On the bright side, the pandemic is good for the video games industry, everyone will be quarantined and playing video games at home.
(Don't forget to sanitize your joy-cons folks!)
