If only I didn't have a million games already in my Wii U backlog

I think they know they'll get close to 3 million sales (a figure I just plucked out of thin air) before their first holiday period just from all the die hards. Another Xmas launch with terrible post Xmas sales would put them back in Wii U territory.

To be honest, I think they're in trouble either way. Their only hope is to launch with Mario Kart and a killer app that everyone wants but I suspect they're pinning a great deal of hope on NX Zelda. Having said that, the Wii and DS came around at a time when most of the industry had written them off. Their marketing was fantastic back then but has been dreadful since they stopped the Redknapp family MK Wii adverts.

@3MonthBeef I worry that the slo-mo dismount and arrow shot might get old quickly.

I hope the gameplay feels like a step forward and isn't just 'Zelda with tilt control aiming'.

They could have been huge. They also probably would have prevented mobile gaming from becoming a sickening pay to play mess where great games are stripped of gameplay in favour of 'collect and wait or pay' mechanics.

There's no reason they should screw up a fire emblem game on mobile. The format does not require physical buttons. The two main problems could be overpricing or the usual f2p stuff.

I'd like advance wars for my commute. Fire Emblem isn't far off so I won't complain when it drops. I can't see how they could get FE wrong unless they made it a coin collecting pay to play game

I think it's better to admit you're bringing one game than to promise the earth and deliver nothing. As long as Zelda is decent, I don't think this will harm them.

Sounds like a 32x for Wii U

Nintendo will see the positive reaction to these rumours and remove these elements from the game.
I've already heard Anouma talk about text dialogue so I reckon this voice acting will be fairly limited. I'm glad Link doesn't talk in these rumours.

@Aneira glad you listed those tracks. The majority of XCX's music is only good because it's bad! Xenoblade's music made grinding a pleasure.

Nintendo made one of the best controllers ever and let it die a horrible death. Considering how eager they have been to make terrible games and how little content Wii U has, it's amazing they didn't just 'motion plus' loads of classic games.

They could have made the definitive version of a bowling, baseball, tennis or golf game but instead chose to do half jobs on loads of potentially good games.

I think it's time they remade the remakes of the remakes.

I've never known expectations to be so low! I'd like something good for Wii U owners to do after the direct, even if it's only a few N64 games. I'd cry tears of joy if they announced Dreamcast games

Wasn't there a Wii Pilotwings with terrible controls i.e skydive by holding the Wiimote like a skydiver voodoo doll?

They should be given a chance to bring another dormant franchise into the 21st century.

The fact Nintendo haven't made a Winter Sports or Extreme Sports game that uses the Balance Board completely baffles me. Just a 1080 remake would be nice but stick Skiiing and Surfing in and you'd have a nice game.

This makes me wonder if Zelda U is even happening and it makes me wonder if I should hold out for an NX version.

I can complete MM1&2 but not 3. I wouldn't say they were the most difficult games to play.

I think the surprise insta deaths used in the Ghosts and Goblins games are worse than anything Megaman throws up. I think those were just designed to make more money in the arcades.

'Lightening' reflexes? All those hours on Megaman made me anything but light.

Why are people surprised or denying that Nintendo would release a localised port of the 3rd game in a series that has seen its predecessors recently released?

I haven't played beginnings yet. I want a proper modern Earthbound like we were promised in the mid 90s

This should be £20. Wind Waker took 6 months to port and I'd bet there are plenty of Nintendo's budget games that took longer to develop than this.

As @rjejr said, Nintendo showed us what an HD Zelda could look like in 2011 and it looked better than anything they shown since. Remake LttP with the tech demo graphics and then I'll buy optional motion plus controls would be welcome!

When will they learn....

For me, it was one of the best ever recreations of a film in games. So many scenes looked like the film compared to what we were used to which was usually bland platformers using a cartoony likeness of the main character.

I got this free with MK8 but it got forgotten amongst some better games but I do think it's good. It's just not as much fun as Bayonetta 2 or Mario Kart 8. I'd rank it above Transfomers Devastation, about level with MadWorld on my Platinum games scale. It's amongst the best production values on Wii U.

I still don't understand why people want more pixels when devs haven't made the most of the ones available each generation. I want to see ray tracing in games.

Those Wii U numbers are terrible but at least they get close to 100% of the software sales!

I have no faith in NX to be a big seller but I am looking forward to MK9!!

Without GTAVI, FIFA17 and CoD35 the NX will fail harder than Wii U.

Playing Brain Training for a few hours a day definitely made me better at playing Brain Training. Good science.

If they had made some sensible remasters it would have been good for Wii U. I hope they bulk up the NX's first years with games like that but I don't have much faith in Nintendo to pick the same games I would go for. Pretty much every GC and N64 first party game would have been better than stuff like Game and Wario , Wii Party U etc.

Hopefully they'll go a step further with NX and do a few full HD 3D remakes of 2D games that would translate well into 3D like A Link to the Past!

I once tried to leave Jurassic Park SNES on overnight because the game was too long to complete in one hit but it wouldn't unpause again when I turned the TV on the next day

What's the upgrade cost of the N64 games? I own both on Wii Channel....

Finally getting SMRPG!

The size doesn't bother me too much unless I'm playing off TV but the actual font could do with being adjusted so it doesn't blend in to the scenery.

I'd prefer them to release Earthbound 64 in its originally intended N64 form. That looked like it was going to be amazing.

Turok's fogging allowed for fantastic detail without much slowdown. I wonder how good a game could look in 2015 with a draw distance of 2 metres.

Anything free is nice but it will take more than a Mercedes icon to get me away from XCX. It will probably take FAST Racing Neo!

My wish for the announcement is that they've put all the Wii VC on Eshop with added Amiga, Saturn and Dreamcast games.
