My list of uncompleted Wii U games is embarrassing. I need to try to clear them down while I wait for NX. I did really well completing Wii games after it died but I keep finding myself playing SSFII when I turn on my U
I sometimes wonder if Nintendo have some kind of hatred of racing sims. The SNES had my favourite racers of its era and the N64 never really embraced 'realistic' racers. Even 20 years on I don't really know of any decent racers on Nintendo besides a few NFS games.
The early dev kit descriptions from a year or so back describe the base unit as being roughly comparable to the Xbox1/PS4 so perhaps the base unit will add enough power to have decent games on TV? I think the main thing that will save NX is having all their dev teams working for one platform instead of the best ones pumping out amazing handheld games while the others struggle to get a game out within a year of its scheduled release.
In summary, all this is meaningless unless they have Mario Kart X ready for launch
This rumour sounds horrible to me unless the base unit can boost the console in some way. I'm sure they've got some cool stuff up their sleeves but if they try to market another low power console, they'll just suffer the same criticism.
I feel like I've heard this kind of positive Sonic vibe around the time of every announcement. I'm pretty sure they just make any old crap and label it with Sonic.
@Donutman I reckon Nintendo got scared when Sony started looking like they might make good games. They partnered with Philips because they could see all their games would suck and not harm Mario!
I spent £12 on Ghostbusters 2 on C64 which was probably the most expensive cassette based game I ever saw (except creative software). I couldn't figure out the first level and it took so long to load I never saw past the river of slime ☹️
This makes me wonder when SNES remix is coming out. I think I own most of these on VC. I'd like to buy the SNES and N64 version of this but only if the latter included Rare's games
@YouSeemFRAZZLED no but my two categories were beat em ups or rubbish. Always seemed like GB Pokemon wete good games and console was whatever they could slap together. It used to seem like they were either scared it wouldn't work on console or scared I t would kill the handheld version
@gatorboi352 if I know Nintendo, they'll wait til the buzz has died and come up with a late follow up that flops! Saying that, Google won't be so slow to react.
I know this is a totally different market but does this mean they might finally open their eyes to a proper console Pokemon game? I.e not a beat em up or any of the other rubbish they've tried. I also hope that the success of this convinces them not to ruin FIre Emblem by making it some freemium collect em up...
Would it really hurt their sales to make a demo available to the loyal Wii U owners who have had to make do with almost no new content for the last 2 years?
Being the only person who remembers it being called NMS is making me feel older than Mario. Probably because I am older than Mario. NMS - Nintendo Magazine System
Ninty should give us the demo. Maybe limit it even more than the e3 one but it would give us something to do. Maybe a Rayman style demo with a challenge mode based on a small piece of gameplay that's already featured in the demo....
I think this is something that is true of all hyped games and nothing to do with kickstarter. I blame everyone but me for what has happened to this game and can honestly say that I never thought anything other than Meh
I'd been asking for this to happen so I'm happier than Pharrell
My last remaining concern is that the NX version might be identical to the Wii U version when in reality I want it to show a significant jump in performance
@DeltaPeng prior to Wii U I think people stealing their ideas was probably a massive problem but I think MS and Sony wouldn't risk copying anything Nintendo did this gen because they'd expect it to flop
@Souldin tiger woods with motion plus, grand slam tennis, godfather, dead space... There's probably a few more but those are ones that impressed me for Wii games, especially the use of motion controls in the first 3
EA made most of the best 3rd party games on Wii and their Wii U games were not awful. One of the only decent racing games was nfs. ME3 was a poor choice ahead of the trilogy but the port had fantastic features which all games should have taken lead from. FIFA was pretty poor in most respects but it did make good use of the gamepad. No motion plus tiger woods or proper tennis game was a travesty.
One difference between Sony/MS and Nintendo is that Nintendo seem to be terrified of leaks while Sony and MS seem to embrace them and use them for hype. I'll bet even if EA had agreed a load of big games for NX, the NDAs would still make any slick spokesperson say the same thing.
The fact he started with a compliment probably means no EA support unless it's selling well.

Re: BBC iPlayer App to End Service on Wii U in Early 2017
@UK-Nintendo its surprisingly slick compared to the set top box versions but I never used it because it jeopardises off tv gaming.
Re: BBC iPlayer App to End Service on Wii U in Early 2017
I hardly used it but it was the best iplayer app I've used. Much better than its TiVo counterpart. Could have done with having full content though

@Slim1999 Bubsy was really slow on SNES (might just be the PAL version). Other than that (and MK1) I never saw any superior games on Genesis.

I'm not a massive fan of handheld gaming but if the TV upscale looks good I think this is a good thing. Not sure it will be successful though.
