I remember this being disappointing compared to the PS1 versions. The loading times must have been much better though!

It's amazing how much love there is for this series considering X and GX both sold poorly and all the filthy casual PS1/2 players used to say it looked terrible, needed weapons and wasnt as good as wipeout. I'd definitely buy the next proper game but I'm hoping FAST Neo is good enough to satisfy my futuristic racer cravings

Glad to see I am not the only person who thought football games hit a peak with this game. I would buy this on VC over any new FIFA on Wii U.

I wish Konami would make another Nintendo exclusive football game. Pro Evo on Wii was almost really good. FIFA and PES on the other consoles are still stuck where they were when this game was released.

I think they should actually advertise it and maybe it will sell. I think MK8 needs some more adverts to go with whatever they're planning for Smash. A price cut wouldn't improve sales if they don't tell anybody.

Early 2015 could be important but I have no faith I Nintendo to release more than 1 major game before e3

Shame about Pole Position. It's probably the only game I want to play out of these. I never minded my C64 port of it back in the day.

Loved this but remember it didn't review brilliantly at the time.

Would snap up a VC re-release but am more interested in getting the original Top Gear from the SNES (better music)

I'm surprised how many people are bothering to say how they think this game is overrated. I think that might be because of the fanboy in them remembering that Miyamoto didn't like the series. It wasn't massively original but it refined and beautified most of the staples of 16-bit platforming. I remember Christmas 94 being perfect because of this game. It also makes me proud that I didn't consider it a difficult game to complete when I was 12 but it's considered really tough by modern gaming standards.

I don't think the graphics hold up too well in any of the SNES DKC games on my 50" tv but they look ok on the gamepad which is where I will be playing them.

Lisa Trevor was a strong female character.

That's insanely cheap. I am considering buying this just to get the games for me but give the Wii U to my nieces and nephew.

I thought Rare's games were normally optimised well enough to not make a difference to the speed or was it just the black borders they dealt with....

I absolutely loved Uncharted Waters: New Horizons on Wii U VC so I might give this a shot. I know it's not the same sort of game but I bet it suffers from the same shortcomings which didn't bother me when play UW:NH.

I'm not sure who is to blame but it seems like the worst cancellation of all time. I'm wondering if some NDAs expired for him to only talk about it now. Hopefully this is a 'come and save my game' plea...... Disney and Nintendo could make this happen....... It could save Wii U!

Poor old Hyrule Warriors. I hope Nintendo at least try to push their recent releases this Christmas.

@Kogorn733 games like F-Zero, WaveRace, 1080 Snowboarding, Disaster Day of Crisis, Geist haven't had sequels because the last/only game in the series failed to sell as well as Nintendo hoped.

@WaLzgi if you're referring to the first game, that wasn't released this century. Obviously Nintendo's bar isn't set at 2 million copies but if a game sells poorly it more than likely gets buried.

People are quick to judge Capcom for this but Nintendo have done pretty much the same thing for all of this century.

Fatal Frame will probably need a localisation just to break even at the moment! Fingers crossed. I wonder if Nintendo will promote Bayonetta over here like it's a key game of 2014 or whether they'll leave it to rot and just advertise Smash.....

What did people expect?
That the GC controller would work on all those games with two L buttons?

It would be very easy for them to update the firmware on the Wii channel to accept Gamecube controllers via USB but this announcement pretty much says they have no plans for that. We will probably see more HD remakes of GC games nobody asked for and neither of them will support this controller!

@rjejr hopefully gamecube games will be playable again.... if modders can do it within a couple of months, and Nintendo don't do it after relaunching gamecube controllers, I will be pretty disappointed.

Maybe we knew nothing of it because he secretly joined Apple and made the iPad...

Using the sniper rifle on the dam level is one of my favourite gaming memories. It seems ordinary to have a sniper rifle in a shooter but in 1997 it was the stuff of a madman's dreams. Nintendo should reunite the old Rare at whatever cost and rule the shooting world again.

I've put in a ridiculous amount of time playing Advance Wars and Fire Emblem but I would happily sacrifice all handheld games on VC for N64 games.

I was hoping that buying the N64 and Gamecube versions was enough to guarantee sequels! I even rebought them on VC!

I might still buy this just for a laugh but I still haven't completed Waverace on Expert on VC

Fatal Frame looks like it gave the Wii U a tiny boost.

Maybe the plan is to all combine together as an ultimate minecraft clone.

I never fully got the hang of this game but the Ronnie Size tune was awesome for an N64 game!

This looks quite cool but I know as soon as I buy this game or FAST or a Snowboarding Racing game, Nintendo will announce WaveRace, F-Zero and 1080 reboots.

If Nintendo don't put balance board support in a 1080 game soon then Iwata should quit. It's just stupid to not have one.

I wish someone would do the opposite of this to Link to the Past. Preferably Nintendo.

Nintendo might yet publish this like they did with some of the late Wii games. They've not announced much else so I can't see them making new games before localising this....

@unrandomsam the music in GX isn't as good as in X

I'm surprised they managed to improve the loading times from a 360 game. Nintendo should buy them for that reason alone. Even a couple of Nintendo's games have annoying loading times.

I'm now interested to see how Bayo 2 actually compares to Bayo 1 when looked at by me rather than by a computer.

@Marioman64 yeah Wii U is current gen but i'm speculating that Watch Dogs Wii U will look more like the PS360 versions.

I only rented this game, I quite liked it but preferred Wipeout 2097.

I've seen lots of complaints about this but the fact Ubisoft hasn't shown any desire to demonstrate the Wii U version makes me think it is going to be the worst of the last gen versions....

Isn't 36,000 about 4x as high as W101 was in Japan? Not a win but at least sales are heading in the right direction.

and like @Pod says, Bayonetta 2 will probably sell for quite a long time after 2014. There's not exactly going to be much competition in January when people are looking to expand their libraries beyond their xmas presents of Smash and MK8

@kensredemption I meant hold out for a month to buy Bayonetta 2 on day one rather than buy Hyrule Warriors now because Bayonetta 2 is complete and Hyrule Warriors might sell well enough to get an 'ultimate' edition.

I hope the EU version sells well enough to ensure future support for the region. Desperately need more money to make the most of the games of 2014
