Who would have thought back in 2011 that you'd be getting brand new 1st party and 3rd party titles in 2019! This system is a heavy weight and will always be one of my absolute favourites.

I think this says more about Nintendo's health than Microsofts. During the Wii U days I heard a lot of chatter surrounding Nintendo becoming a software publisher only and that having Mario on Sony and Xbox would lead to huge sales. Fast forward three years later and Microsoft is bringing games and services to Switch, not the other way around. I haven't heard one single rumour of Nintendo letting their games go to Microsoft.

Well that is just fabulous news. I have it digital for my Xbox 1 and played it quite a bit. It's really hard! I'll happily pick up a physical copy for my Switch.

Excited but going to wait and see what they announce for all the regions. For example, the Asian region and Japan often get physical editions of these collections. I'm very interested in this but I hope I can get them physically. Glad to see Konami doing this for fans.

Shining Force!!!!! Look at how popular Fire Emblem is now and even Wargroove sold really well. A new Shining Force game would be awesome.

Nintendo announces a partnership with HnR Block as tax season draws to a close LOL ....seems like a troll job. We just had a Direct a month ago.

$5 is reasonable so I may grab it. I did find the game a bit awkward to play on the Switch, though. I'll echo the thoughts of others above. It seems like a missed opportunity for Nintendo to not put out DLC for games like Super Mario Odyssey and Super Mario Party.

Pre-ordered the special edition a while back. I'm gonna give it a shot. I've actually been playing a few games on my 3DS lately.

Physical copies will help preserve these games for generations to come. The eShop will eventually disappear but this game wont.

There are some really salty and jelly people in this thread. Congrats to the guy for finding such a rare item. If you watch the MJR video, he plans on giving the money to his brother.

@RupeeClock The end of the Vita may be part of the reason why they want media attention. They may be hoping for a final run on sales. However, I saw recently on Twitter that the company has had a hard time getting Vita cartridges long before this announcement. I can't imagine they will be doing much more. Switch on the other hand. I expect a lot of announcements there.

I saw the owner posted something about Vita? I'm sure they will talk about Switch games as those are selling very well. Vita owners may get a few treats, too.

And I pre-ordered it .....didn't have to pay anything so I've got a few months to decide if I want to keep it or not.

@RickD Honestly....Mario has never had collector's editions. And they don't need to do anything special to sell the games. I would love if Odyssey had of gotten this royal treatment.

@Heavyarms55 Im in South Korea but I use a VPN so I'm sure I could get it. I bought a Humble Bundle back in the Wii U / 3DS days and it was pretty great.

I'll be interested to see the future of E3. It seems like the event is now more about the fans and playing demos than it is about companies having press conferences and announcing games. A big change of events. Nintendo adapted to this a while ago by having Directs. It seems like other companies may follow suit.

If you were strictly on a budget....and you had to be honest about your disposable income....I think this new Xbox and Game Pass could be a great option for some consumers. Spend $150 on the console and then $10 a month for a huge library of games. It's just not for me personally. I love physical media. I love holding it in my hands, I love seeing it on the shelf, I love trading, I love selling. It's just the overall gaming experience. I love walking through a game store and looking at things I never knew about. An all digital world will destroy all those experiences for me.

@retro_player_22 I think 3DS ports could do well on Switch but the loss of a second screen is challenging and the four examples you just gave are from 3rd party companies, not Nintendo.

This is not an Atlus published title, guys. I'm not sure why people are jumping all over them. The game was published by Atlus in the west and nothing more. They never made it. They aren't even publishing it on the Switch, either. So far it's a Japanese only release by a Japanese company. Atlus is had at work on SMT V and something with P5. I'm fine waiting for both right now. Atlus has given a lot of support to Nintendo over the years. Chill...

Not a big fan of Activision's games anymore. Not much has grabbed my attention lately.

This may sound odd....but I decided not to get the demo because it feels like an unfinished product from what I have heard and some people seem to be swayed not to buy it. I'd like to wait for the final product to come out before I decide.

I remember I wanted one at launch but the prices here in South Korea were insane. You could only get a Japanese import and they were around $500. I finally caved when the prices came down to $375 in May. Bought a pro-controller, Zelda, Mario Kart, and Tetris. Haven't looked back since! Such a wonderful console. Thank you Nintendo!

Gotta choose with your wallets. I've decided to pass on all of the RE games for now. I will wait for a sale and then buy one at a more reasonable price. To each their own.

If this is true, it would be a good E3 reveal. I'm guessing we wont get another Direct until E3 given it's a little over 3 months away.

Hard pass.....overpriced and digital only for number 4. Capcom...you were doing so well on Switch.

@rjejr Just pre-order both at Amazon. They don't charge you anything so you can cancel one. When the two new Switch bundles (Pokemon/Smash) were announced I did that. Kept the Smash one.

@Mogster perhaps you are confusing "we" with "me"? Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee combo has sold 10 million copies. I think plenty of people wanted to play it. I hope you get your wishes for this upcoming game!

Game Freak seems to be building hype all on their own. I'm not surprised they waited until after the Nintendo Direct to do this. If these 7 minutes were part of the previous Direct, it's all people would talk about. My hopes for the Direct....the name of the game(s), the starter pokemon, and region.

I haven't played anything beyond 6 because I didn't own any Sony consoles until a PS4. I'm gonna pick up a few of these FF games and start playing through them on Switch. I'll be happy to have physical releases.

@IronMan30 My Amazon pre-order has Tuesday, September 17th listed. Not sure where they got that from but they generally only put the last day of the year (Dec 31st) when they don't know.

I didn't know the pre-order was up. Just got one through Amazon. I'm really intrigued by this game and having a physical release sealed the deal for me!

I'm quite satisfied with how well Nintendo and Square Enix are working together for the Switch. Octopath Traveller and Dragon Quest Builders were two of my favourite 2018 games. Lots of retro Final Fantasy games coming to the system, modern Dragon Quest games, and third party exclusives. SE...you're gonna get lots of my hard earned cash. Thank you for making awesome games!

Perhaps....and this is just me .....perhaps investors didn't view positively on Reggie like the gaming community did. The new president of NOJ seems to be more of breed the investors want instead of an Iwata/Reggie type.

If you have to buy it separately, I wouldn't do it. I'd just keep Game Pass on my 1X. However, if you buy it once and you can have Game Pass on both your 1X and Switch ....I'd down. Forza, Cuphead, Halo and a few others come to mind.

My body wasn't ready =(. If nothing else, Reggie brought personality and presence to a corporation notorious for being stuffy, disconnected, and reserved. He was a breath of fresh air in many regards. When I reconnected with Nintendo in the mid-2000's Iwata and Reggie were the faces I came to know and love. Just seeing them got me excited. Now both are gone....good luck to him.

Perhaps I am reading too much into this, but I can't help but wonder if Nintendo's public apology for Metroid's delay is trickling down to the industry and others are following their lead. Normally, it would be "reports - Shovel Knight delayed - sources close to the developer are reporting" ...and then gamers would be left guessing. I like this new side of the gaming industry. Just tell us what's going on and we will likely be fine with it.

Captain Toad was release as a $40 game so maybe there is a chance this game ends up as a $40 game, too. Who knows. Games go on sale, too. Amazon or someone will eventually have it on for like 45-50 and i'll grab it then.

The first round of pre-orders sold out with in 30 minutes at all major retailers. This is gonna be one of those hot items so if you can get it, you'll be happy.

Personally....I like parts of both versions. The European version looks better overall but I don't like the outside box. Looks kinda lazy to me. However, North American only gets the steel book like Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I dunno but I didn't like that.

@thesilverbrick it was little Mac for me. Spent $40 on him because I got caught up in the madness. I still love amiibo to this day but I'm more patient than the first couple of waves.
