Sabotage has confirmed its 2D side-scroller The Messenger is going on a sunny holiday this summer. The entirely free DLC pack known as 'Picnic Panic' - which was originally revealed last December - will also be playable at PAX East 2019.
In addition to this, Special Reserve Games has announced pre-orders for the Switch physical copy of The Messenger will go live on 19th March for $34.99. Here's what it looks like:
Shipping is free on all pre-orders and the game will be dispatched in the month of June. On the same day as this, the Limited Run Games website will also be offering an "exclusive cover variant" of Special Reserves' version of the game.
Are you looking forward to The Messenger DLC? How about the game's physical release? Tell us down in the comments.

So many games to get......Like I'm made of money!
One of my favorite games of 2018. Play it if you haven’t.
It's a smart move to go physical.
I’ve been waiting for this. Glad for the free shipping, not a bad deal.
Meh, Digital FTW!
I wish I had more money... and time.
Free shipping is nice, but I think we still have to worry about taxes. Anybody know where these guys are located? Can't find it on their website.
The dlc is free, right? When I see these kinds of prices for physical over digital, I’m so glad that I went digital. The writing is very funny and the music is great. The second half of the game felt long and a bit boring at times, but I will remember this game fondly overall.
Love this game and can't wait for the DLC but I won't double dip. Has this been a physical release from the get go - I wouldn't have downloaded it. But I don't need two copies of a game.
I looked it up on their Twitter, this is an open pre-order.
That means you don't have to worry about not getting a copy, just place a pre-order whilst they're handling them.
Limited Run Games will also be taking orders for the game from their site.

So it sounds as though you will be able to order both Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon and The Messenger on March 19th through Limited Run Games, if you prefer. That's likely what I will be doing.
Will get the physical to add to my backlog
Waiting for a discount in the e-shop. Looks great.
Physical copies will help preserve these games for generations to come. The eShop will eventually disappear but this game wont.
@Paperboy https://specialreservegames.com/ is the site you are looking for.
@RupeeClock Limited Run has always done pre-orders on standard edition Switch games. They are either still trying to gauge the market before they stick to fixed quantities or are using that as the standard model for all Switch games unlike the Vita and PS4 which are limited to a fixed number on both LE and standard.
I'd download it if it would go on a nice sale.
@GauBan
Yes, but this was an unknown for Special Reserve Games, who have not published any Switch games before.
Though Limited Run Games are selling and distributing The Messenger, they are not the publisher in this case.
There are plenty of other small publishers that print a finite number of Switch games without an open pre-order, such as Super Rare Games, Strictly Limited Games, and Warned Collectors.
Great! I got it digital a while back, and didn't get to far. Might pick it up from where I left off!
@GauBan
Thanks for your reply! But I was able to find their website. What I couldn't find is where the are located/are shipping from.
@Paperboy here is what they have listed on LinkedIn

@GauBan That's helpful, thanks for finding that out!
I think I'm going to wait until preorders go live, it maybe safer to go with LRG, who are also offering the game. At least with LRG you know for sure that taxes are covered.
@Paperboy i've used SR in the past and didn't get charged customseparately to the UK but of course I can't guarantee all shipments are free of customs
@Paperboy but they do say on their site that they don't pay customs charges.
Oh, that's good to know! I'm in the Netherlands. I might take a chance on it then Thanks again!
I'm a wee bit disappointed the ps4 is getting it, I'd hoped it would stay a switch exclusive. Not only is this game a masterpiece, it's extremely funny. John Gaiden lol
