@Linux7055 was gonna say the same. Here in Vancouver you can finally find a Switch with ease at places like EB Games, Best Buy, Walmart and online with Amazon. The Animal Crossing Switch is beautiful if you want to upgrade your launch Switch or get one in the first place. My son uses the AC version and I use a standard Neon Blue/Red combo.
@NinChocolate Yes, the first two games were released in Japan in a rare combo pack. It was not released in the West which is weird because the games were translated for PS4. DQ Heroes Three has been rumoured and spoken about by the series producer.
I totally forgot about DQ X. I once thought about importing a version for Switch just to have on the shelf when I want to daydream about actually playing the game. Sigh..... would love some online DQ here in the West.
Suddenly my mind is just racing with possibilities for 2021. Zelda and Dragon Quest both have massive 35th anniversaries. RIP wallet.
@TheFrenchiestFry That would be amazing. I'd add one thing though if we are being greedy lol
I'd like to see Dragon Quest Heroes I and II brought to the West for Switch. There is a Japanese version of those games on the Switch and the games were translated for the PS4. Should be very doable to accomplish this.
This game is really growing on me. I wasn't thinking about a second Hyrule Warriors game this holiday season but a lot of footage has been released and I am liking it more and more. I'm gonna pick this up for sure.
I'm actually ok with this. Dragon Quest 11 is one of my favourite games ever. I'm glad more people will get to play it. I'm also happy that Square will receive more sales for the game so hopefully that means Dragon Quest 12 will get released, too!
One has to wonder....has Covid 19 hurt Nintendo more than other companies? As in, their work force hasn't been able to adjust to working from home or the company hasn't got enough infrastructure in place for offsite work? Something is clearly up. Why won't they tell us anything first party related?
I just finished watching and it contained very little that interested me. Hopefully others are happy and/or excited. The drought of games I am interested in continues. SMT V looked good but I'd have to see some gameplay before I commit.
I'm glad I had no expectations for this once I heard "mini direct for partners"
I felt nostalgic playing this game despite it being released in modern times. It was a wonderful game and I really enjoyed the music, too. I know Square is busy with Bravely Default 2 but I hope they revisit this franchise in the future.
I've simmered in my older age so I'm not too upset by their choice of games. I vote with my wallet now. I have purchased two EA games in the past 3 or 4 years. NHL 19 used and the recent Star Wars Jedi game. I haven't been satisfied with EA games for a long time so I don't buy them. It's highly unlikely I would buy any of their games on Switch so I understand their concern. EA doesn't really make games that appeal to me anymore so It's not a big loss to me personally. Now, if someone like Square Enix or Capcom talked like this I would be un in arms! haha
DAMMIT....I thought I was out. I thought I kicked the amiibo habit. I hadn't bought any in a long while. But I am obsessed with DQXI....I have to get Hero. Joker looks great, too.
@LavaTwilight Thanks for the message back. I just read what you said and I'm glad it was a goof! I really do hope Mario Kart 9 comes but at this point, what's the motivation for Nintendo? I think everyone who has MK8 would buy MK9 so sales would be massive but MK8 still sells so much. I doubt it gets DLC, either. How could it be the Deluxe version if there is more DLC? The name would confuse people. I think MK9 is likely "down the road"
I can't really remember it so this article made me download it. I can only remember Dennis Hopper's eye patch and him flicking a cigarette into the oil. Or something like that lol.
@LavaTwilight your comment is the part of the video game world I have a hard time agreeing with. You're basically telling people how to spend their money in the hopes they spend it in a way that benefits you. That's just fundamentally wrong. I completely understand the desire for Mario Kart 9 (we all want it) but for a parent, grandparent, aunt, friend (whomever) buying a Nintendo Switch for the first time, they likely don't know about the video game world like we do. They are gonna look at a fabulous game like Mario Kart 8 and buy it for whomever the Switch is for. You're basically upset at people spending their own money and finding joy because it doesn't benefit you personally. Try to find the joy for your fellow gamers.
@Kanbei that's true with Nintendo first party games but there are lots of 3rd party games that are incomplete versions. You need to download a lot of content with those games. I completely understand your point, though. I love owning the physical carts.
Nintendo doesn't provide ample storage for a legit digital only product. 32gb is laughable......they would need to have a minimum of 512gb to make it remotely feasible but if you want 3rd party titles it would need to be 1 TB. Nintendo is too cheap to pay for that. They always pass the buck on to consumers. Did it with the Wii U, 3DS, and now Switch. It's not gonna happen.
Handheld Switch mode is the perfect way to play a 2D run-n-gun side scrolling game. I'll be looking for more information on this. Given SNK just announced something in early June, it's not hard to imagine this game could have been revealed at E3.
1.) Animal Crossing is an absolute juggernaut. I cannot believe it's selling so highly this many months after launch.
2.) Xenoblade has yet to find commercial success. Nintendo seems to pour a lot of energy, money, and marketing into these games but they aren't catching on. I wonder how active the franchise will be moving forward. There are 2.5 games on Switch now.
@rockodoodle I 100% agree. My favourite Mario sports games are the golf ones. I played World Tour on the 3DS a lot. I thought it was a really well made game. Mario Tennis Aces has sold well and received a lot of post release content. I really hope Mario Golf gets a chance on the Switch.
I'm intrigued but I don't know how I could actually play it? I have big hands and so-so eyesight. I'm not sure who the target group is for this product but people with big hands especially will likely struggle.
This makes sense given the time of year. Retailers are often told of announcements coming during E3 (2nd week of June) so pre-orders can be ready while fans are excited. I still have Metroid Prime 4 pre-ordered from 2017 lol.
A Direct is unlikely given the rumblings. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a string of social media reveals throughout the month of June.
If you want a physical version Amazon Japan and Play-Asia have it available. I have never played this game, seems like a good one to get on sale. Final Fantasy games always go on sale (which is a good thing).
The online infrastructure and eShop suck ...it's 2020 and they shouldn't suck but they do
$25 a year is super cheap and I'll likely keep doing it for no other reason than it's cheap.
I really wish Nintendo brought back those vouchers to North America for subscribers here. In Canada it worked out to be a savings of around $30 on your second game. It was definitely worth it.
Kickstarter strikes again! A growing list of games that Switch people back only to get the worst version of the batch of games released. I'm glad I finally learned my lesson and stayed away from this. I hope Kamiya supports this game after launch for all the fans who supported him.
@aznable If you are looking for an extra dock I recommend you check out Amazon Japan. I actually just bought an additional dock set there for the standard retail. Check it out!
I have about 80 cards from series 1. It would be great if these restocks came to the West. I'd love to complete it for my collection but I don't wanna pay these absurd prices.
I can't believe I didn't do this sooner. A year ago Amazon had them on sale for like $4 a pack. I was like "I'll do it later" .....bahhhhh lol
The attach rate of software is fascinating. It seems that people are buying the Switch for their niche group of games opposed to buying a system and buying a lot of games. It's almost 9-10 games per system for most of the consoles but the Switch is around 6-7 games. Very strong numbers for Switch, though! I hope it's on the market another 3-4 years. I really enjoy it.
This game looks good but money is a bit tight right now. Feels like a great game to buy digitally in a few months when it inevitably goes on sale for like 50% off.
This may end up being my last generation to buy physical media. Honestly, I'm getting fed up with day 1 patches, physical carts that required a download, or simply a download code in the case. I will treasure my physical collection of games and relish the fact I can always play them when I want but I'm not sure how to fight the change anymore. I started 100% physical with Switch but I've been gradually changing to digital.
Nintendo Twitted out a message here in Korea that the Animal Crossing Switch is not a limited edition and meant to be a regular stock item for a while. They have restocks coming in April and May. We'll see if they actually get them on to the shelves.
Thank you Splatoon 2! Love this game so much. Put in a solid 100 hours into this game which is quite high for me. I generally play 30-40 hours in a game and then move on but it kept me coming back for more. I wonder if Splatoon 3 will come out on Switch or will Nintendo wait for the next console. I think about the same thing for Mario Kart 9.
I have an OG Switch and I had wanted to get a new model but it's been impossible. The prices here in South Korea are soaring over 500,000 KRW which is about $425 USD and that's if you can actually find one for sale. Used PS4 systems have flooded the market but no Switches. I haven't seen the regular or Lite model in a retailer in about a month.
That steelbook looks gorgeous. I'm not going to get the NA version because it's not great (imo). I'll see if that steelbook appears on eBay in the future.
I'm hoping Bravely Default 2 gets an awesome collector's edition like this.
I am very excited for Bravely Default 2. That has my name written all over it. I can't believe Nintendo just shadow dropped a mini-Direct.
I can't help but wonder if we see more 1st party stuff announced in the coming weeks. That was a great little Direct but it was all 3rd party stuff really.
