Re: Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase Airs Later Today

Nintendofan83

I just finished watching and it contained very little that interested me. Hopefully others are happy and/or excited. The drought of games I am interested in continues. SMT V looked good but I'd have to see some gameplay before I commit.

I'm glad I had no expectations for this once I heard "mini direct for partners"

Re: Talking Point: Is EA's Switch Strategy Lazy, Or Simply Common Sense?

Nintendofan83

I've simmered in my older age so I'm not too upset by their choice of games. I vote with my wallet now. I have purchased two EA games in the past 3 or 4 years. NHL 19 used and the recent Star Wars Jedi game. I haven't been satisfied with EA games for a long time so I don't buy them. It's highly unlikely I would buy any of their games on Switch so I understand their concern. EA doesn't really make games that appeal to me anymore so It's not a big loss to me personally. Now, if someone like Square Enix or Capcom talked like this I would be un in arms! haha

Re: UK Charts: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Soars To Number One As Nintendo Takes Six Of The Top Ten

Nintendofan83

@LavaTwilight Thanks for the message back. I just read what you said and I'm glad it was a goof! I really do hope Mario Kart 9 comes but at this point, what's the motivation for Nintendo? I think everyone who has MK8 would buy MK9 so sales would be massive but MK8 still sells so much. I doubt it gets DLC, either. How could it be the Deluxe version if there is more DLC? The name would confuse people. I think MK9 is likely "down the road"

@LavaTwilight your comment is the part of the video game world I have a hard time agreeing with. You're basically telling people how to spend their money in the hopes they spend it in a way that benefits you. That's just fundamentally wrong. I completely understand the desire for Mario Kart 9 (we all want it) but for a parent, grandparent, aunt, friend (whomever) buying a Nintendo Switch for the first time, they likely don't know about the video game world like we do. They are gonna look at a fabulous game like Mario Kart 8 and buy it for whomever the Switch is for. You're basically upset at people spending their own money and finding joy because it doesn't benefit you personally. Try to find the joy for your fellow gamers.

Re: Poll: Should Nintendo Release A Digital-Only Switch?

Nintendofan83

Nintendo doesn't provide ample storage for a legit digital only product. 32gb is laughable......they would need to have a minimum of 512gb to make it remotely feasible but if you want 3rd party titles it would need to be 1 TB. Nintendo is too cheap to pay for that. They always pass the buck on to consumers. Did it with the Wii U, 3DS, and now Switch. It's not gonna happen.

Re: Japanese Charts: Animal Crossing Denies Xenoblade Chronicles A Debut Week At Number One

Nintendofan83

Two comments:

1.) Animal Crossing is an absolute juggernaut. I cannot believe it's selling so highly this many months after launch.

2.) Xenoblade has yet to find commercial success. Nintendo seems to pour a lot of energy, money, and marketing into these games but they aren't catching on. I wonder how active the franchise will be moving forward. There are 2.5 games on Switch now.

Re: Feature: Best Nintendo Switch Golf Games

Nintendofan83

@rockodoodle I 100% agree. My favourite Mario sports games are the golf ones. I played World Tour on the 3DS a lot. I thought it was a really well made game. Mario Tennis Aces has sold well and received a lot of post release content. I really hope Mario Golf gets a chance on the Switch.

Re: Four Unannounced Nintendo Games Potentially Teased By New Amazon Listings

Nintendofan83

This makes sense given the time of year. Retailers are often told of announcements coming during E3 (2nd week of June) so pre-orders can be ready while fans are excited. I still have Metroid Prime 4 pre-ordered from 2017 lol.

A Direct is unlikely given the rumblings. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a string of social media reveals throughout the month of June.

Re: Nintendo Switch Has Now Sold 55.77 Million Units Worldwide

Nintendofan83

The attach rate of software is fascinating. It seems that people are buying the Switch for their niche group of games opposed to buying a system and buying a lot of games. It's almost 9-10 games per system for most of the consoles but the Switch is around 6-7 games. Very strong numbers for Switch, though! I hope it's on the market another 3-4 years. I really enjoy it.

Re: Nintendo Is The Next Disney+, Says Activist Investor Which Now Has A $1.1 Billion Stake

Nintendofan83

This may end up being my last generation to buy physical media. Honestly, I'm getting fed up with day 1 patches, physical carts that required a download, or simply a download code in the case. I will treasure my physical collection of games and relish the fact I can always play them when I want but I'm not sure how to fight the change anymore. I started 100% physical with Switch but I've been gradually changing to digital.

Re: Nintendo Tweets About Splatoon 2's April Update, Then Deletes It

Nintendofan83

Thank you Splatoon 2! Love this game so much. Put in a solid 100 hours into this game which is quite high for me. I generally play 30-40 hours in a game and then move on but it kept me coming back for more. I wonder if Splatoon 3 will come out on Switch or will Nintendo wait for the next console. I think about the same thing for Mario Kart 9.
