We're slowly but surely getting closer and closer to Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth's release on 3DS and, today, Nintendo and Atlus have shared a new story trailer for the game.
You can check out the action for yourself up above; you'll notice that the western version sadly doesn't feature English voice work, as was originally confirmed early last month. It's a shame, of course - we'd have loved the option to toggle between the two languages - but at least it will feature English subtitles throughout.
Here's a little more info on the game's story, as written in the video's description:
Step Beyond the Silver Screen in Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth for the Nintendo 3DS™ when it launches on June 4, 2019! Prepare to face a mysterious world of film in this challenging dungeon crawler. The Phantom Thieves are on another adventure as they find themselves trapped within a series of labyrinthine movies, each with its own unique twists and turns themed after various movie genres.
The end of the video also reminds us of the 'Showtime' Premium Edition - we actually had a good look at this back in January if you missed it. It'll be priced at $69.99 and launches on the same day as the standard game.
Are you excited to finally get your hands on this one on 4th June? Are you still hoping for a Persona 5 Switch announcement? Let us know in the usual place.

So no P5 for switch then?
@FrowningCoach i don't think this will effect a Switch Version for Persona 5.
Cool. I actually held off on playing Nexus so that my EO appetite would be whetted by the time this came out.
still waiting persona 5... wake up me when it's announced..
Lookit that. 3DS receiving a brand new high-profile 3rd party game after its 8th birthday!
Considering the skepticism this system faced, that's pretty dang good.
As far as I’m aware, this is the swansong for the 3DS. Lovely old thing, home to some of the most underrated games of the decade.
I want to play it but I don't know if I can face returning to my 3DS after buying a Switch...
Good to see it coming to other countries though, I wasn't sure if they would skip it because the 3DS is slowing down
I'm just happy this is getting localized, can't wait to play this!
Goooooooo 3DS!!
I love you!
Probably my last new 3DS game but I’m looking forward to it. Hopefully it’s a nice swan song.
@Tokiwa No dub, only text will be localized.
Honestly this trailer is super hype. It looks great, the story seems cool and it's integration into the P5 story through mementos is perfect. Plus, even if you don't like persona you should listen to the soundtrack on YouTube because it's genuinely amazing.
Like, the soundtrack is so good I really wish we could get some of the songs as DLC in Persona Dancing
@CurryPowderKeg79 It will be a while even if a port comes out, as the Etrian Odyssey-based series still use the touch screen as an essential part of the experience. ATLUS will figure out some way to put the EO series on Switch, probably by having a map / main split screen, but the write-in mapping feature will definitely be missed when the time comes.
Pre-ordered the special edition a while back. I'm gonna give it a shot. I've actually been playing a few games on my 3DS lately.
@Smash_kirby Yup, i already know that. I don't particularly mind so i'll be playing at launch
@GloryQuestor Hopefully they'll find a way to bring the series to the Switch. I love the Etrian games so much that i hope it we don't see the last of the series on the 3DS.
I know it'll be hard to adapt to a single screen but it would be nice if they manage to do it.
Probably going to pick this up sometime after release rather than day of. With that said, I'm looking forward to this game. After getting into Tokyo Mirage Sessions and liking the story telling in it, I want check out other Atlus titles, including this.
@FrowningCoach yeah
@Pod wouldn't say it's "high-profile"
@kopaka
I was weighing that myself when typing it out, but a fully unique and exclusive Persona entry, released internationally in physical form by ATLUS? It certainly isn't low-profile. It's about as high as it gets for 3DS, I'd even say.
@Pod it's mid-profile at best, tbh
@kopaka
In the sense that it's a spin-off series for a spin-off series for an already niche franchise, I agree. ^^
