Re: DuckTales: Remastered Is Leaving The Wii U eShop On 9th August

Nintendofan83

1.) It's an awesome game! I bought it digitally on the Wii U a few years ago. Purchases are tied to a machine though. If my Wii U dies I think I lose that game. I may try to find this physically for Wii U.

2.) The digital only future terrifies me. Capcom is literally saying "we're done with this game". Once it goes...it goes. This is why I buy physically as much as I can.

3.) I worry about the vibrant Indie scene down the road. Not all of those studios will survive and their games will disappear. I've started to buy a few of the big titles physically (Hollow Knight, Dead Cells, Celeste) so I can have them in a decade.

Re: Reminder: This Is Your Last Chance To Buy Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers (North America)

Nintendofan83

I tried it out because I didn't have the Nintendo Online subscription. I paid $30 CAD for online then bought the two vouchers which cost about $155 CAD. Two retail games in Canada are usually about $190 so in the end, I paid full retail for the games and got online for free. That works for me. I ended up choosing MM2 and DQB2 because of their replay ability. With that being said....I wont do it again. I prefer physical and now I wish I had physical copies of those two excellent games.

Re: My Nintendo Offers Free Fire Emblem: Three Houses Physical Goodies, But Only In Japan

Nintendofan83

I just got back from Japan. I booked my tickets before I knew the launch of this game so I actually left on Thursday the 25th. It would have been cool to be in Japan during the launch of a big title to see what the reaction was like or to see the physical goodies you get when you buy the game. As I was leaving, Yodabashi Camera was putting out big stands for Fire Emblem.

Re: Review: Fire Emblem: Three Houses - The Zenith Of A Legendary SRPG Series

Nintendofan83

I didn't play my first FE game until Awakening on the 3DS but I'm now a growing fan of the series. I'm really interested in playing this game but I fear it'll be on the backlog for a while until I'm ready for a massive game. I'm just so deep into Dragon Quest Builders 2 that I'm not really playing anything else. I have the collector's edition coming from Amazon.

Re: Splatoon Producer Hasn't Thought About The Future Of The Series Just Yet

Nintendofan83

@Supaguy There are lots of examples where Nintendo works on one entry of a franchise per console. Super 64 and Mario Sunshine were the only big Mario 3D games for those consoles. Technically BOTW was for Wii U originally and the other games are ports not originals so again just one developed for it. Multiplayer games like the sports titles, Forza, Call of Duty and others come out regularly on one console, why does Nintendo limit theres? Donkey Kong usually gets one game per console and for Switch it's just a port so far! Usually one sports entry like Mario Golf, Mario Tennis etc. Nintendo often gives us "1" of a game per console with a few exceptions here and there. I really hope Splatoon 3 doesn't have to wait until the next console.

Re: Reminder: The Final Splatoon 2 Splatfest Is Now Underway

Nintendofan83

End of an era. Splatoon on the Wii U was probably the best new IP I had played since my early days or World of Warcraft. When Splatoon 2 was announced for Switch I saved up cash to buy one then. Picked up BOTW and MK8D at the same time. Those three games lasted me so long! I'm curious what will happen to the Splatoon casual fan community. Diehards will play but I know lots of friends who would only come back for the Splatfests and play for a few days at a time. I really hope the community stays robust.

With the updates, DLC, and Splatfests now finished, I'm guessing the full development team moves onto Splatoon 3. I could see that coming out in 2021 in the mid-life of the Switch.

Re: US Law Firm Opens "Switch Joy-Con Drift" Class Action Investigation

Nintendofan83

Not surprised to see this happen. It's an issue they have not been able to fix for nearly two years. They rarely even acknowledge it.

My first pair of Joycons from launch had that problem. Well the left Joycon had that problem. Joycons purchased over the past year haven't been a problem yet. With that being said, I began playing docked mostly because of this issue. This is 100% on Nintendo to fix. For a company obsessed with quality control, this one will haunt them.

Re: Luigi's Mansion 3 Gets A Solid October Release Date

Nintendofan83

It would have been nice to have it out a bit earlier than that. Pokemon is just around the corner and I hope this game doesn't suffer because of proximity. I was hoping it would come out early October to get a full month of sales before the juggernaut arrives. Hopefully they market this game well.

Re: Guide: Nintendo Switch vs Nintendo Switch Lite: What Are The Differences?

Nintendofan83

I fully expect production of the New 3DSXL systems to end soon. This is the price point for that system and the Switch Lite is fulfilling the same function from a technical perspective - a purely handheld device at a cheaper point. If anything the New 2DSXL may hang around a bit longer at $150 but dunno...probably gonna be gone soon. Stores wont like this many SKUs.

Re: Gallery: Here's What The Nintendo Switch Lite Looks Like

Nintendofan83

I'm not a big fan of the colours and I highly doubt Nintendo wants a lot of different SKUs on shelves. These could be the only variations which would suck. If I had to choose, maybe the yellow? I dunno....I'm gonna wait and see what happens with Pokemon. Doesn't this seem the like perfect system to bundle with Pokemon for kids at Xmas? Like $250 for the system and the game.

Re: Nintendo Switch Lite Officially Revealed, Launches This September

Nintendofan83

@nintendolie From what I recall, Nintendo said "we have nothing to announce" instead of them saying there was nothing being created. In fact, the CEO has repeatedly said they are always looking at hardware. It's ok if the product is not for you but I don't think it's appropriate to create a fake narrative that suggest something sinister. Then again...I suppose your name should have been a hint....

Re: Bloodstained Team Releasing Multiple "Small Updates" To Fix Performance Of The Switch Version

Nintendofan83

Or you could get the PS4 version which is running beautifully like it was intended. I love the Switch but portability alone can't be a reason why I decide to buy something. With all the bugs, patches etc ....I guarantee this game will be on sale in like two months. It'll be $29.99 or lower by September so I'm just gonna wait. I would like to play it, but I'm not paying full price for a flawed game. Gotta speak my mind with my wallet. Plus....I wanted it for PS4 anyway lol.

Re: Switch Mini Rumours Escalate As Spanish Arm Of GAME Lists Accessories

Nintendofan83

Perhaps Nintendo wants to announce a Pokemon bundle for the holiday season. If the current system stays at $299, this will likely be $199 and replace the 3DS price point. A bundle with Pokemon Sword or Shield for $250 could be a big holiday seller.

Nintendo has set up the holiday season and early new Year with a September Direct. They have had a Direct in September for the past 4-5 years. Perhaps that would be a good time to reveal the system.

Re: Nintendo Shares Colourful Graphic Outlining Upcoming Switch Releases

Nintendofan83

Remember when people would say things like "The Switch doesn't have any games" and all that jazz? Man....the developers are hitting their groove now. I still think 2020 will be a huge year, too. Developers back in 2017 saw how huge the Switch was and likely started developing games in early 2018.

My only critique would be the balance between 1st half and 2nd half. Two years in a row the first 6 months were pretty bare and then the last 6 months overflowing. A little balance would be nice for my wallet! haha

Re: Review: Collection of Mana - Expensive, But Ultimately Worth Every Penny

Nintendofan83

Seeing as how I haven't played any of these games in my 36 years of life, I think I can wait 2+ months for the physical release. I pre-ordered it from Amazon (along with 10 other E3 games haha). Hard to believe the physical is the same price as the digital. I guess SE is really banking on that stealth drop getting lots of people excited. I see the Japanese collection here in South Korea a lot and I was always jealous.
