Re: Capcom's Monster Hunter Rise amiibo Designs Revealed

Namco

Palico is the only one I consider decent

Palamute's stance is a bit boring, the plastic support looks kind of unnecessary. The details don't look great either, but it probably looks better in real life since the figure is quite small

Magnamalo... just no... why are his legs just floating in the air? I don't think I like the size either. Probably looks awkward next to another Amiibo. Also I'm never a fan of plastic flames or air

The Palico is fine, dynamic stance and from the looks of it decent details

Re: Nintendo Tweet Shows Off Pokémon Forms Not Yet Available In Sword And Shield

Namco

Personally I like the dexit. It creates an unique meta in which some pokémon see the daylight that is competitive play again. It also encourages players to try the newly introduced Pokémon. I hope the next new game gives the spotlight to the other half of the pokédex (in addition to some new Pokémon). But I know I'm in the minority with this...

Also, those people who can't live without the entire dex, I suppose they cannot replay older games? Try something different for once.

Re: Video: Get Another Look At The Two New Pokémon In This Galar Research Recap

Namco

@Heavyarms55 Everyone here can decide for themselves if they are ready to move on. The reason they give backlash is because they want to see improvement. I understand ignoring a franchise like Star Wars because you don't like the direction it's been taken (and like you said Star Wars and Pokémon are different cases, as it stands Disney can hardly be influenced because their products are just for profit not to be pieces of art) but asking the others to do the same is rather pointless when they have different intentions. You can see this game is rather rushed don't you? Look at the scaling of Wailord, it looks like a pool floaty:

Untitled

Most of us are just hoping Gamefreak steps it up a bit with their next entry and to be a little less like Disney.

and who knows, even Star Wars may one day get a new director with an actual good take on the series.

Re: Rumour: The Starter Evolutions For Pokémon Sword And Shield Might Have Been Leaked

Namco

Not bad, not too impressive. I kinda like the Grookey and Sobble final evolution. The last starter that I considered an impressive design was Greninja. Overall there are a lot of starters in the series that I find mediocre. People should stop expecting them to all be mind blowing.

If this Grookey is real and he comes with cool animations I'll definitely go with him.

Re: The Pokémon Sword And Shield Live Stream Is Now Over

Namco

You waited all that time, for what? A new my little pony toy

Besides it kinda looking like the famous toy, I do like Galarian Ponyta. I was actually lucky enough that I forgot about this stream and watched only the last 10 minutes. I feel real bad for those people who stayed up all night for this.

Re: Review: Mario Kart Tour - Steer Around The Gacha For A Fun, Free Take On The Series

Namco

Trying this game out left a bad taste in my mouth. I can't say one good thing about this game. Simply put this is not the Nintendo I love. I played 3 tracks and uninstalled it.

Tsk, might as well install a gameboy emulator on your phone. Trust me It's the better portable Mario Kart experience. Unlocking characters doesn't make you go bankrupt for one thing.

''Free Take On The Series''

You can't be serious...

Re: Upcoming Fire Emblem: Three Houses DLC Reportedly Detailed Ahead Of Release

Namco

It all sounds very promising. I'm doing a playthrough with each DLC wave. The side story is most intriguing. Will it tell the events of what happened after Byleth fell into the abyss and disappeared for 5 years? Maybe that's when Byleth meets these new characters.

Also I was talking with a friend about how ridiculous it would be if they made petting dogs and cats paid DLC... They really did it...

Re: Smash Bros. Ultimate Players Aren't Happy With New Online Tournament Rules

Namco

Even after all this time they haven't properly managed online. There should always be two tournaments in my opinion. One with items and one without. 1 stock as mentioned creates a number of unfair situations. Fast projectile spammers will no doubt stall for sudden death. No option to join a tournament with a friend locally either. It's poor decision making.

Re: Nintendo Switch Lite Officially Revealed, Launches This September

Namco

They should call it the Nintendo plain. They took most of the unique functionality away like they did with the 2DS. Typical Nintendo, they create hardware with neat functionalities but they don't back it up.

Like the 2DS I don't have to buy it. The Switch Lite doesn't bother me for that reason. Some people are looking for exactly this. Though removing TV functionality seems a bit overkill...

Still I'm a bit sad. I just want a true handheld console. With games specifically made for handheld. The Switch Lite won't be that. They say it's dedicated to handheld but developers will make games compatible for both Switches.

But I musn't complain. The regular Switch is still a great console that fits my lifestyle and increasing the playerbase is a good thing.

Re: Random: Music Site Pitchfork Reviews Zelda: Ocarina Of Time's Soundtrack, Thinks It Rocks

Namco

The music in Ocarina of Time has soul. They're amazing soundtracks. Breath of the Wild has stunning pieces too, but they don't provoke such a strong emotional response. I'm pretty sure nostalgia has little to do with it. It's only been a few years since I played Ocarina of Time for the first time.

Some of my favourites:
Title theme, Hyrule Field, Ganondorf's Tower, Gerudo Valley, Lon Lon Ranch

Re: Get Ready To Gigantamax As New Pokémon Are Announced For Sword And Shield On Switch

Namco

Underwhelming Pokémon. They all appear to be variants of Pokémon I've seen before.

and I still strongly dislike Dynamax. It's lame that Pokémon now have a form that only lasts three turns. The bloated Pokémon look out of place, takes some of the immersion away. I wish there was a mode without it.

...Stupid unnecessary gimmicks. This game is as passionless as the 3DS entries. My faith in the Pokémon mainline games has been lost. It breaks my heart because it could've been so much more.

Re: Feature: Dormant Nintendo Franchises We'd Like To See Return On Switch

Namco

Again with the whining about Kid Icarus Uprising's controls? Do you ever consider that your experience might not be everyone's experience? I thought Uprising's gameplay was a unique and refreshing take on the genre. Finally we got something different and people are complaining because it takes some time getting used to. Git gut

Re: The Man Who Made Sonic A Star "Feels Responsible" For Movie Trailer Backlash

Namco

I don't think the movie will be any better than its trailer. Don't think Sonic will change his looks mid through either. I'm not that hopeful. This is just a typical hollywood production. They're not into new and defiant ideas. They just work with proven formulas. The fact that Jim Carrey plays in it is also meaningless. Actors sell their soul to poor movies all the time. (Willem Dafou in Death Note for example) It doesn't have to be harmful to their carreer as long as they play their assigned role right and blame everything else on the directors...

Fact is this movie doesn't have to be that good to make money with all the controversy on the internet and its close release to Detective Pikachu. A lot of people will see this out of curiousity. Also kids aren't that critical or nostalgic.

Sad but probably true
