Re: Kimishima Says Nintendo Has Plans For The 3DS In 2019 And Beyond

NImH

This makes me so smiley. And for 2 reasons:
1: The 3DS is a massive storehouse for a load of epic titles for me personally. I have titles from the DS, GBA, GB, NES, SNES, GBC, and dozens of indie DL titles that aren't present anywhere else.
2: Nintendo supporting it creates a first-world problem that pisses off idiots.

Re: Random: Nintendo Fixed One Man's Out Of Warranty, First-Gen 3DS For Next To Nothing

NImH

Twice now I've sent in an out of warranty device (2 different 1st Gen 3DS-es) and Nintendo repaired them... Once for free and once for around $40. They're just great with customer service.
It seems to me that they consider your Nintendo account as well because I've had the customer service rep comment about my longtime loyalty and thank me for my loyalty, then had them explain the repair process.

Re: Review: Penny-Punching Princess (Switch)

@Deleted84 now that was a bitter rant. Well done. Have fun griping about games you won't buy and about how angry you are at Nintendo! I wish I knew how to game like that... Like a mature, 30-something. I'm only 37, so what do I know? Haha

Re: Review: SteamWorld Dig 2 (3DS eShop)

NImH

3D functionality makes this a 3DS title for me. I love the Switch, but I'd rather play any sprite-based side-scroller with that 3D slider cranked up.
It's a beautiful thing.

Re: Feature: Xeodrifting Onto Nintendo Switch With Jools Watsham

@daveh30 trust?
What are you even talking about, Dave?

My assessment of Atooi's recent misfires is based upon my own years of playing their great games and following their development and changes... Their own repeated statements regarding the confusion over why their titles (Moon, Bomb Monkey, Chicken Wiggle, MM Super Challenge) didn't perform in sales as expected are clear evidence in support of my opinion.
Your opinion sounds to be based upon how much you love their games. And that's it.
Which is why you shifted the discussion away from my original point: Jools obviously needs to get his ducks properly set in a row.

Re: Review: Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology (3DS)

NImH

So glad this review was handled by a professional. I needed to hear what @zipmon specifically had to say about it.
I loved the original and after reading this, I can honestly land at "want, don't need."
Great write up, per usual.

Re: Feature: Xeodrifting Onto Nintendo Switch With Jools Watsham

"As a designer and artist, I like to explore different ideas and challenge myself by embarking on things that I haven't done before."

"What's next for you and the team?"

"Xeodrifter is due to be released February 15. Totes The Goat is at Nintendo Lot Check now, so that should be released sometime in March... After that we will be releasing Soccer Slammers on Switch in time for the World Cup. We're kicking around the idea of running a Kickstarter campaign to bring an HD version of Chicken Wiggle to Switch with new high definition artwork. Other than that we're still hammering away on Treasurenauts."

So, in other words... It's mostly re-releases of stuff they've done before, despite having announced Treasurenauts 3 years ago.
Does that seem like a contradiction to anyone else?

Re: Review: Space Dave (Switch eShop)

NImH

I'll wait on a price drop.
There are just too many good games available for the Switch that I'm not playing.
And I do agree that 5 is way harsh.
They gave it an 8/10 over at NWR and had this to say: If you are a fan of classic arcade games, I’d highly recommended Space Dave!, as it’s a prime example of a great pick-up-and-play game. The addictive gameplay had me always wanting to come back for one more round over and over again, proving that Choice Provisions successfully executed on what they were trying to deliver - a solid arcade experience.
That sounds like someone who understands what Choice Provisions accomplished. These devs are far from "monkeys" as @HauntedNostril so belligerently referred to them.
Whoa Dave was awesome enough to merit a chance for Space Dave.

Re: Nintendo Power's Second Episode Is Here And Nintendo Labo Takes Centre Stage

NImH

Man, it's official: Krysta Yang is the problem on Nintendo Minute, and this month, the Nintendo Power Podcast.
All she has is contrived, filler commentary and a forced attempt at humor... But no substantial contribution whatsoever.
Why is she present on the podcast, not to mention the YouTube series?
I couldn't even finish the latest episode of the NP podcast... The cringe was too much.
