@gavinh props for being the only one in the comments to give credit to Streets of Fire. People in the NLife comment section act like such experts on everything, and this common knowledge seems to escape them all. Streets of Fire is such an underrated movie that inspired game devs of the late 80s for good reason. That movie kicks ass.

It's kind of a bummer... I've been a WayForward fan since Mighty Milky Way on the DS. But since some of the guys broke off and formed Yacht Club Games, it really seems that WayForward lost their way.

@OldManHermit this game will almost definitely NOT be able to hold a candle to Cadillacs and Dinosaurs. That game is top tier.

Unless I'm mistaken, this edition is nigh a thousand dollars! That's plain insane. What is Arcade 1up thinking? No one is going to just plop down a thousand bucks on an impulse buy like when their home arcade offerings were a few hundred. IMO they're blowing it here.

We are enjoying a glut of fun indie games right now, (was well as a mess of crap shovelware) but as you pointed out, it may turn out to be at the expense of some smaller, truly independent teams. Certain teams aren't able to keep their seat now that big money is putting their bets on the table. The team that created the wonderful game Aer closed their doors, and though I don't know the full story, it does make me wonder if they are a casualty of the issue this article is about. I hope not.

I've been saying for a long while now that this idea is the next logical iteration of Mario Kart. Randomized stretches of road... non-looping tracks where a track based upon a character theme and a pre-decided distance are chosen. Mario Kart 9

Let's hope they spend time giving soul back to the character designs. The fact that the art is pixel art isn't what we loved... The character design was on point. It wasn't rounded down and cleaned up to the point where they looked generic as frig, like they do now.

Nintendo: Waluigi in Smash? Makes no sense. Waluigi in Mario Kart Tour? That's no problem.

Pbth. Suda leans way too hard on "cool" while not fully realizing his own concepts. Just because Nintendo's friendly to him and may respect his abilities, I can't see them hiring him on and placing any significant amount of faith in him.

@Ulysses it sounds like New Horizons is your first AC game. Almost none of your suggestions are things that would help to salvage New Horizons... Instead they would make it feel even less like an Animal Crossing game than it already does for those players that have a history with the previous entries (besides the phone game.)

Sounds like the kind of RPG that a non-hardcore RPG fan like myself would dislike. Lots of hurdles to overcome, behind which is some fun to be had. No thanks. I'm not looking for suffering and boredom dressed up with a pretty art style ✌️

Why does no one suggest one of the most awesome and iconic ninjas in videogame history: Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden?! He's a perfect fit, and would be my vote for sure.

@AG_Awesome Bit Trip Runner is easily the best of the bunch. I would wager that is the best thing in this Quibic sale. Just remember that it's a 2007 game... But I still think it's the best of the Runner series. Well worth a couple of bucks

I just now learned of the existence of this game, and it looks like it could be a fun one. The pixel art is on point... Movement looks a little stiff but it could see myself putting time in. Interesting

This date will always be remembered fondly by me... It was such a mind-blow. My hype hadn't been higher for a new console since the Nintendo Revolution!
Good memories and even better times with the Switch since then!

@Donutman exactly the same here. So overrated. And I suspect people who praise these games over-highly of virtue-signaling as "those who appreciate art." Plenty of games are beautiful art expressions... AND they're fun, satisfying, good games! Not Journey, and I suspect, not this one either.
